Such a lovely place! The lady who works this called it her "retirement job", and she obviously loves doing it. She's truly delightful. The "tour" doesn't take long as it's basically one room where all the magic happens and the enormous still sits prominently in the middle. They happily allow you to sample all their offerings, and you obviously should! We decided against the "moonshine" but if we were 10 years younger... In the end, we took home 57 proof Rum, the Whisky and the Brandy. Ohhhh! They also sell the PEI Rum Cake (as their rum is used to make it). It's the best rum cake I've ever had - and that title used to belong to Tortuga Rum Cake out of the Caribbean).

To be honest I wasn't sold on this place at first because of its bland labels. It doesn't boast it's island heritage so I wasn't even sure it was a true island business. Wow was I wrong. Once I tried the rum at a bar in a dark and stormy, I knew I had to make the trip to check the distillery out. They provide tastings, a tour of how they distill, and have a great selection of different spirits and bottle sizes to take home. Ever wanted to try 75% moonshine? It's not legal in my province, but they have it here! For me, the gin was the best thing there.

Superb experience though a little late in coming. Visited last summer (2016) on a four week tour of the Maritimes. Stumbled on this unique place and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there. Very informative regarding the distillery process and differences in the various "beverages". Loved the straight canadian whiskey and wished we could take more home to the states. Great sipping whiskey. We hope to return in 2018 and will make this a stop. Thanks for a friendly and interesting visit.

How do they do this? Really a hidden gem. Top quality products, smooth, amazing taste first. Extremely efficient and easy online ordering, and recently, free shipping within Canada, and Canadian made. (I really have no idea how they manage to do free shipping - really makes many of their products extremely competitive to BC Liquor) I also love that I'm buying Canadian quality product. Discovered them from the CBC show Still Standing. Have been ordering their spirits for a couple years now and have never been disappointed. Have also used their online ordering system to send as gifts to friends around Canada. My favourites: Straight shine of course, gin, whiskey, brandy, pastis, rum. Myriad View. Hope you stay small and don't sell out to some mega corporation, please and thank you!

You can pick up moonshine and lightning from this distillery. They have also started making their own gin, brandy, and rum. They will also give you a sample to taste. We picked some up for gifts. We got to see the back room of the distillery. The lady working was really nice, helpful and informative. They only distribute in PEI.

Tried the Strait Whiskey and loved it. As a former Islander who moved to BC over 10 years ago, my father periodically sends out care packages with various Island or East Coast comforts. In the last box I was pleased to find a bottle of Strait Whiskey (Canadian Whiskey). I was really impressed. I would compare this in quality to other premium whiskey such as Redbreast, Jameson Select Reserve or Wiser's 18 yr. Great product. I recommend re-imaging the label because I don't think the cheap/simple look on the label is doing the product the justice it deserves. The bottle label makes it look like bottom shelf whiskey but if you give it a try you will be pleasantly surprised. My next trip home will include a stop at this distillery.
