As you can read, it has an average rating is really high, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the assessment is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased with the business, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put opinions when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Winery belongs to the category of Bistro.
The patio is one of the best places in town to enjoy the ocean, good food, lovely drinks and great service.
Amazing experience; all the dishes were perfectly executed, and the staff was extremely friendly.. it was quite busy on a Friday night, but we never felt service was an issue. Combined with the amazing view from their patio, it was the best experience we had in PR during our 4 days there!
The chef has a new menu and the food was outstanding. Service was right up there with the food
Good food Fair price and a great wine selection servers are friendly and knowledgeable
Powell River slowly opening back up, this restaurant was open on a Tuesday evening while a lot of other places were still boarded up. We turned out to be the only people in there, but the new waitress was great and the grill was ready for us when we walked in. I cant wait to return, and hopefully under more lively and fun circumstances, because this would be a great spot to party.
Great views of the setting sun and marina! Very much enjoyed my sour and happy hour snacks!
Great food with fabulous view of the Salish Sea.
The food was great, servings were huge, but a little bit of miscommunication may have ruined it. We made a reservation, were stuffed in a back corner when we arrived, 25 minutes until someone came to serve us, watched people that came in after us get their orders taken first, and ate our meals in the dark, as they forgot to turn up the dimmer on the lights until we were almost done. An apology was made by our server, something else could have been done.
(Translated) Super delicious food, great atmosphere and always friendly and courteous staff. (Original) Super leckeres Essen, tolle Atmosphäre sowie immer freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal.
11/10 Would eat again
We often order take away with Jambalaya, Pulled Pork, Chicken Enchilada and Crispy Cicken Tacos being our favorites.
Friendly service, appropriate live music, delicious meal!
Possibly the best view at any restaurant in Powell River. Great chefs and servers. I recommend coming here 100%.
Didn't offer drinks or desert... Took our food order and then dropped off the bill...
Beautiful location nice restaurant great food
I am so very sad to say that we had family here for a wedding. They are from Vancouver. They are not white a and were put at a dirty table then ignored most of the time. They made a reservation for all of us on the patio. About 8. They gave our table to a group of white people. Seemed like another couple darker had the same problem. They gave their table to white people. It left us going to Shingle mill and no patio. Not only that but when our new family got there they put them in the worst table in a corner and gave their table away.Just so you know HOSTESS Sunday night he spend a lot of money at shingle mill and left an amazing tip. Tried to call manager cause I felt so bad for how they were treated. I told them how much we liked the seaside. I am white but people close to my heart are different nationality and I have now for a second time seen first hand racesism even with police.
A great selection of food and a vast selection of wines to chose from. My boyfriend and I had a fantastic dinner there, and the server made us feel so welcome. It was a great night out, definitely recommend!
Great service and food.
Nice place
Delicious food awesome and friendly service. You should eat there.
Long wait for order, clam chowder was not good, served bottom of the barrel beer. Forgot salt and pepper when asked. One person's dish was forgotten so we all had to uncomfortably eat to avoid the food getting cold whilst they waited for their order. Warn vegan friends that the only dish on their menu may not be the best choice. Unless they want to pay $20 for over cooked vegetables and a burnt cauliflower steak soaking in what I can only describe as old baby food. Nice views but not worth the mistakes and one going home hungry and paying full price.
Good food, excellent service
Nice place friendly people by the water
Great food, good service, live music Friday & Saturday. Great atmosphere.
Confit duck wings weren’t wings. They were pretty good. Garlic chicken was mind-blowing. It had ittle a 5 vegetable pieces on the side that were similar to Brussels sprouts. They tasted burnt, but they’re not in my diet anyway. Great ambiance and clean. Booth seating was comfortable. Went when it was too dark to see the view. No racism experienced as a person of colour. I would return.
Beautiful establishment, delicious food, friendly professional staff. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
The service, food and venue came together for a very enjoyable meal.
Wow, really impressed with the food, the view and the wine list. Again the food we had was 10/10, we had the chicken wings, the fry bread and hummus and the coconut prawns, all were amazing. The space is nice but the layout is a bit awkward, service was excellent.
Nice wine bar with decent food, situated on the shore of Malaspina Strait. We enjoyed a light supper and some excellent NC wine as we watched the sun set. Food was very good and the service good, even though it was busy on a Wednesday night.
Been here twice in 2 months from Calgary and ordered the same entree both times. Braised mussels are fantastic!
Lovely interior. Beautiful view. Good food.
It was a good meal and the waitress was very nice
Decent food beautiful patio
Server Emma is top drawer personality and work ethic. Food was excellent and came quickly. Shade on deck is poorly thought out and glass panels on deck add to heat build up. Would be 5 stars except for that.
Our hostess greeted us warmly and sat us where we wanted with a smile. Minimum expectations met nicely. She gave us a QR code to scan to access their menu and then placed a feature sheet menu outlining the specials of the day - then promptly pointed out 3 things that were not actually available. A bit off-putting, especially as it was a Wednesday and we were the first customers. One of the items unavailable I was interested in so I was a bit bummed before I'd even sat down. I don't know how, but I think finding a way to provide updated lists so that at opening all items are available would be worth the effort. Our Server was great. She was lively, adjusted to our stumbling and indecision, happily suggesting to come back after giving us a few more minutes, multiple times. Very patient. The Food: I picked two items from the afore mentioned Feature Sheet; the Tom Yum Soup, which I've always been interested in, and the East Meets West Bratwurst. Essentially a German hotdog with Korean toppings. It comes with kimchi & aioli topped fries. My wife chose the wonderful sounding Prawn, Avocado + Mango Salad and then the Truffle Parmesan Triple Cooked Fries We received our salad and soup first as they were the only things we could decide on initially = patient server. My wife couldn't stop praising the salad. It looked amazing and was a decent size, though $22 for a salad is on the steeper side. I can vouch that the prawns were chunky and I named them Larry, Curly, and Moe. Stars of the show and gone too soon. The Tom Yum soup was excellent. I enjoyed it. I would get it again, though I'd wait for a cooler day. This is where air con would have helped :-). After a protracted discussion about the merits of burgers, hot dogs, and pulled brisket poutine, I chose the hot dog. It was a near thing and had our server been using paper to record our orders instead of her mental powers, she'd probably have burned through a pad, a pen, and possibly developed a stutter. With my decision locked in, my wife chose the truffle fries as a chaser to her salad. Note - all food arrived with alacrity. I've been wanting to use that word for some time. The truffle fries were great and disappeared without help from me. My hot dog looked amazing as did my kimchi and aioli covered fries. I started with the fries and they too were good. They really don't need any toppings as they stand up by themselves (metaphorically, I didn't test if they could stand on end.) My Hot Dog was a Hot Mess. It looks amazing as you can see in the photo I attached to this review. However, upon picking it up and applying the requisite pressure to the sides, as one does with hot dogs preparatory to taking a bite, the bratwurst squirted up and the secretly hidden condiments underneath and around it, forged a path through the minimal connective tissue joining the bun halves and fell onto the plate, my shirt, and the chair. I shoved the bratwurst back into the hug of the bun and scooped some of the escaped toppings (the ones on my plate of course) placing them on top. Then I rectified my initial mistake and grasped the hot dog with both hands like it was a goose's neck and I was trying to keep it from biting my face. Then instead of bringing the hotdog to me, I went to it. This was the correct decision. My mouth isn't small, but it isn't a muppet's hinged face hole either. I managed to take a decent bite, once more spilling toppings and condiments over my strangling hands and onto the plate. It was pretty tasty. I finished it with a knife and fork. So there's my quick tip for you. Buy the East Meets West Bratwurst - but eat it in the middle of your plate. This brings me to the napkins, which I'd forgotten about until now. BEST napkins ever. They are paper but feel and look and act like fabric. They saved my chair, my shirt, my hands, and my face. I just needed 2 of them.
Did take out. Fantastic service and even better food! Definitely would recommend. Views from the patio are to die for
Meal type
Great location. Thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful sunset, good food and drinks.
Dine in
Wow! A beautiful setting on the water with a view of the Sunset. The service was great and very friendly. With that out of the way, let's talk about the food! I had the maple walnut steelhead it was light and slightly sweet but offset by a wonderful rhubarb chutney. The vegetables were cooked but still crisp and the baby potatoes soaking up the maple and rhubarb juices were wonderful. It's one of the best meals I can remember and by far the best trout dish I've ever had. My wife had the cauliflower steak. Thankfully they don't try to disguise it as steak shaped (I was expecting a cauliflower "patty") but it's grilled cauliflower in a carrot puree. I had a bite and it was very good. The kids had poutine and waffle fries they loved them, though you can't really go wrong. Price wise, I'm a pretty frugal guy and this wasn't "cheap" but it wasn't anywhere near overpriced and the food was well worth it. I'll be back again and try the fish and chips, watching them go by made me drool ????.
Great live music every Saturday night
Only had the complementary continental breakfast there. First day we were there, service and available food was exemplary. Attentive staff and plenty of cutlery and plates. The next two times were lacking everything.... no plates, no cutlery, no milk, ...no staff.
**It would not let me give zero stars**....The food was mediocre, the service was absolutley abysmal, way over priced. On a personal note, one of the servers, I will leave her unnamed, was very abrasive and unwelcoming. At no point during our visit did we feel welcome. Our plates were tossed in front of us. There was no attempt to see how our dinner was going through the evening. No refills on drinks. We ordered the mussels and there were more than a couple that did not even open during cooking. I would not recommend this "place" to anyone. There are far better restaurants, cafes, pubs, diners and fast food that are far superior to here... stay away!!
Amazing food, great friendly service, decor and view. Best place to eat in Powell River hands down!! Very original menu and the food was prepared to perfection.
Good food. Inattentive service and slightly over priced
Great food. Best chicken wings I've had in a long time. Service was excellent
Good food Staffs pretty good
We had an early issue with the server that seated us, we asked to sit in the shade and he insisted that we sit with our table sun exposed after making this clear in both reservation and in person. The server said that "the sun would be down in an hour." Afrer being informed that my mother just had eye surgery. We had to refuse seating and move in doors. The server a male with long beard was a jerk, and nearly spoiled our night out. Afterward we got a new host, and the food and restaurant was well worth our money. Delicious food, great atmosphere, just need to weed out the staff a little.
exceptional service from Laura, the delicous food, incredible views perfect place to wind down and exhale...bravo Powell River
View was great. Service was poor. When asked for pepper to two different server's . I never receiving it. Never checked on us during our meal after asking for the pepper. Didn't care if our drinks were empty. Took us waiving them down to get our bill. Was very disappointed to see other people getting service and us getting walked by
Excellent service by friendly awesome people, doesnt get much better than this !
The absolute best experience in Powell River. Consistently great food and fantastic service. Also just listened to some amazing live music. We actually left to go see a movie after dinner and cancelled it to go back for more music and desert.
Good food
Went for food and drinks after a trip on the boat with my girlfriend and was completely disappointed with the food and service. The bartender was extremely unprofessional, the gravy was overdone, attempted to eat the most stale baguette i have had at any restaurant and top it off we waited at the front for someone to come out with our bill for about 5-10 minutes. The only thing that made this better was that our hostess was excellent. Server: untrained, unprofessional, blamed management and the kitchen for multiple things 1/5 Ambience: for being there from 2130-2230 on a friday night we expected it to be better than an empty place with little to no music on. 1/5 Food: had potential but was honestly still not very good. Your safest option is to go with the chicken wings and similar appetizers 2/5 Price/menu: for the relatively small size of the 25 item dinner menu and the moderately expensive pricing the food did not live up to expectation, especially the $5 5 slice baguette which ended up being very stale and had us in choking fits in one bite. 1/5 In conclusion: if you are looking for a place to eat chicken wings, have drinks and see an excellent ocean view this is a great place to come. If you however are looking for an nice restaurant boasting great views with delectable food, go somewhere else and never have to worry if your experience is going to be great or unsatisfying.
Its a Beautful Bistro beautifull biew of the pacific ocean. You might even see a whale while you eat. Very clean and friendly staff
Service was good but their menu is lacking
So disappointing.....Best thing about this place is the view. Prices are far to high for the quality of food.
Love it! Super nice atmosphere and newly renocated. Great food, great wine selection
Excellent food and ambience
Go for it's location and for it's food. Excellent view of the ocean. Saw a pod of humpbacks breaching. Order the seafood pasta and the seafood broth (forgot it's name). You won't be disappointed.
Love this spot. I’m giving a 3 star because they took the Scotch Egg off the menu. It’s easily one of the beat dishes there, no clue why they’d remove it this year. Bring back the Scotch Egg!
Great food and great views
Recently opened after COVID, Friendly and quick service
Good meal at a great price!
Great view. Good food and service.
Food is good. Service good. Fantastic views
Mussels 12/10
Food was delicious, it was fresh and packed full of flavour. Great selection for vegetarians. Wait staff are excellent!!
Service
Food was delicious, had the Seasider burger with fries. Staff are friendly. Weather was beautiful so we sat out on the patio. ????
The service was great and the food is made like they care. The seaside burger was amazing and i would drive back from victoria to have it again.
Great food! Excellent service! Beautiful view!
It is a good place to eat fries are awesome sadly there is just no gravy to go with the fries so that is why only 4 stars i am sure if they made gravy it would be just as good as the rest of rhe food i had a real good burger but sadly when i was eating my fries the nice waitress said we dont sever gravy you should write a review
Amazing food, staff and views
Excellent dishes in a beautiful setting. If you choose a evening meal here, you may be welcomed with vistas of a beautiful sunset and a pod of whales. It is worth the visit. The chef is building a reputation on the quality of their meals.
Awesome place for a meal and a drink.
Amazing cream brule.
A bit austere and cold feeling, kind of typical hotel restaurant, but with a nice terrace overlooking the marina. Good and friendly service. The limited menu provides excellent home-style food - the vegetables lightly cooked and the steak exactly as ordered.
Crystal thank you for being amazing! You're the reason we keep coming back, great patio and great view
The food is delicious, friendly staff, great service and the best views of the humpback whales.
