You will be able to see the information of people who know the products of Phantom Creek Estates (Winery) in the territory of Powell River (Canada).
Currently the firm gets a rating of 4.3 out of 5 and this score was based on 94 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is positive, and it is founded on a very large number of scores, so we can conclude that the score is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery is classified in the category of Winery.
I was a little hesitant at first to make this a stop on my self guided wine tour as I've had bad experiences with high end wineries however, I made a last minute decision to book a premium tasting for me and my husband. I was blown away the second we started driving up towards the winery, the scenery was breathtaking. When we walked into the tasting lounge, we were warmly greeted and taken upstairs to the private tasting room as the patio was closed due to smoke. Our Brand Ambassador was so lovely and knowledgeable. I've been to almost every winery in BC and I've never met someone as friendly and well versed in wine as her. It made our experience truly exceptional and I highly recommend giving this place a chance as it will become the premier wine destination in BC and likely all of Canada.
They close at 6 and we showed up at 5:58 HOPING someone would allow us to do a quick tasting. Without hesitation they got us in. And did not rush us. Spectacular views, wine and knowledge shared. Our server Blake was the best and cared so much about this place, his love for their wine. He was proud to be a part of the Phantom creek family. We absolutely loved this place!
Phantom Creek Estates was the last stop of a 3 day winery tour and it did not disappoint. Everyone in our group agreed that the wines were excellent, and that the premium tasting fee, while expensive, was worth the price point. The hostess who guided our tasting was very friendly and knowledgeable. In addition to the discussion about the wines themselves, she provided lots of interesting details about the development of the winery and their team of vintners. The venue and grounds are visually stunning, with sweeping views in almost every direction. The hostess mentioned that it the goal of Phantom Creek Estates' owner to become *the* destination for premium wine in Canada. It is obvious that no expense has been spared in pursuit of that goal. Truly impressive.
Just an incredible winery, amazing wine , the quality and the respect toward customers is definitely here
A stunningly beautiful winery that's a work of art. The path up to the winery from the parking lot to the main buildings as you walked underneath the two art statues provided an impressive grand entrance. I've noticed different background music depending on where you are standing and I thought that was a subtle, yet well thought out detail. When you were close to the outside of the main tasting room, the music was slightly more upbeat and fun. The music that was closer towards the restaurant was more spa like and relaxing. The view you get to immerse yourself in during the tasting is breathtaking. Unfortunately, due to the smoke, we weren't able to sit outside, which was a shame and not Phantom Creek's fault. We had the premium tasting with the charcuterie board and it was worth it. The charcuterie board was unique and not like any other boards we've had during our wine tastings. The staff were so knowledgeable and experienced. They were able to answer all our questions we had. Our favorite wine was the Syrah, but you had to join the wine club in order to purchase it. The only thing they needed to work on is the amount of flies inside the tasting room. I know it's fly season, but there should be some way to trap the flies on sticky paper and etc because it took away from the amazing experience as you're trying to swat away flies. We didn't want them to land on the food and one even got into the wine glass and they should have replaced it.
What a stunning winery! simply the best winery we have visited in the Okanagan yet. The facility and view were breathtaking with some of the best wines we have tried in Canada. They had several tiers of wines, even their lowest tier of reds priced around $40 were amazing. We got to try some of their higher tier wines from their Kobau vineyard, and let me tell you, the price is worth the difference. The staff here are also a cut above the rest. The experience was almost like being at a luxury resort. Our server, Kazan was so knowledgeable and just perfect. We will certainly be back here every trip!
Really love the place however they really need to address staffing. Our group of 5, waited 30 mins before someone came to start our wine tasting. We tasted 2 wines before we got up and walked away. After 45 mins wait, and going in 3 times to see why the delay, we thought it was best to call it quits. Granted it was busy, but all the tables around us had a server ensure everything was good for them and I find it odd that no staff found it weird that our table hasn't been served etc. We waited patiently because we were given the cabana, so we enjoyed the view and didn't pay anything for the inconvenience. I think if they address staffing, this place would have been an awesome experience.
It was delicious, the wine pairings were perfect. If you’re looking for a nice gastronomical experience this place is a must. Worth to note that it can be pricey, 70-80 CAD (without the wine), but it’s totally worth it
5 stars for the view. When without a reservation. Will be more prepared next time.
Our group of 4 had lunch reservations last Saturday. Our first issue was that the hostess tried to seat us outdoors when our reservation was for indoor dining. Who wants to sit outside in 40 degree weather with such dense smoke from the nearby fires. Our request to sit in one of the two open indoor tables was met with a less than professional response but was granted. Our 2nd issue was that a person in our group had a bad reaction to their appetizer (I'll spare the details). We brought that to the servers attention, also that they would like to cancel their main dish as their stomach was put off. This is when the real problem began. The server offered to bring some bread to the table to perhaps help with the stomach issue (I'm not a doctor so I cannot comment on whether or not that's a good idea)... it was brought. When the bill was brought there was a $14 charge for those 2 pieces of bread. Which by any dining standards is COMPLETELY INSANE. You do not charge a person when they have become ill as a result of your doing. Furthermore, the appetizer was also on the bill. When this was voiced to a manager, we were met with hostility and needed to argue to have that removed from the bill. We still paid for the overpriced slices of bread, which wasn't even on the menu. I still haven't been to a restaurant that charges for bread other than at Phantom. As for my food, I had the beef tartar which was just ok. The tenderloin I had was overcooked and half grizzle with mushrooms I basically needed a chainsaw to cut thru. I'm not sure if Phantom is trying for a fine dining experience but this is far from it. With so many options so close, we won't be returning to this place. They have much to learn. Zero stars if there was an option.
Just had the best wine tasting and winery tour ….. our wine ambassador Kahzan took us through all the wines and then a tour into the wine cellars and the VIP dinner room !!!!!! You HAVE to do this tasting and tour and ask for Kahzan !!!!!!!
Excellent place to sit and drink wine with a beautiful view of the valley. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable of not only their wines but also of the surrounding area.
Great view, good wine. Too bad restaurant isn't open yet.
(Translated) Super beautiful place, high-end atmosphere, even if you need to wait during the epidemic, but the service is quite in place for us, it is definitely not in vain~ (Original) 超级美的地方,高端大气,即便在疫情期间需要等待,但是对我们的服务是相当到位,绝对不枉此行~
Newly opened high end winery definitely worth a visit! The tasting experience was exceptional - staff with great customer service and also knowledge on the field and history of the winery. Wines are great at least for those we’ve tried. The view is amazing as well.
(Translated) The combination of nature and fine wine is worthy of this trip, highly recommended! (Original) 自然与美酒的结合,不枉此行,极力推荐!
Beautiful location, setting, and view. But pretentious - using coached 20 year olds to describe the wines but who couldn’t afford any of them. $25 tasting fee refundable if you buy 6 bottles? Give me a break. Walk the grounds, save your hard earned money and shop at other Okanagan wineries that produce excellent wines for value.
Great tasting experience with Tess, The property is so beautiful and the wines were delicious! A must visit when in the area.
An expensive tasting at 25 pp and the a snack plate for 25. Moderately priced wines 30 to 60 bucks. We enjoyed the rose at 30 bucks and the reds were decent and 60 bucks ia a little pricey for us a daily drinkers... very well done space and winery though.
Have left a "Poor" rating on Trip Advisor for our luncheon June 24/2021. Food was very disappointing. Also, servers require training. No server should announce to guests that the meal to come will be the best they have ever had. Many clientele have travelled the world and know what fine dining is, and what it is not. Very naive, immature and unprofessional overall. As for meal, duck pieces were salty and dry, or with a thick ridge of fat. Steak choices featured several pieces of fat and gristle, and left on the side of the plate. Should be a message to the kitchen.
Great tasting. Ask for Gloria, she is wonderful.
This place is amazing. Beautiful winery with an amazing view, plus the wine is good.
Wow, the view is spectacular, the tasting room is very organized, great wines, loved it. I will be back.
Was very looking forward to this reservation but it wasn’t what I expected. First off we had to wait 25 minutes past our reservation time before we got in. When we re-served 3 weeks in advance we ordered a canapés plate which they didn’t have so they gave us a meat/cheese plate that was so so. The tasting itself was done by a young lady that was in a rush because she had 3 other tables waiting for her and the wine itself was so so.... Beautiful view but they have a ways to go on how to treat their customers.....
Simply the best winery in the Okanagan ????
5+ stars if I could! This place is wildly gorgeous and really utilizes it’s space on one of the most beautiful backdrops of Oliver. The aesthetics are stunning. I felt like I was in a contemporary paradise. No clue how expensive, but if I could afford to have my wedding here one day, I’d do it in a heartbeat! Wine was great, but get ready to wait on a hefty waitlist to join the wine club. The modern art surrounding the building is moody but thought provoking. Major ups to this winery for setting a new standard.
What a beautiful place! Unfortunately everything was busy, so we couldn’t get a tasting neither lunch, but we’ll definitely come back one day.
Stunning and overwhelming, the wines are so well cultivated and produced, great attention to detail and so, so well presented by Andrew that one can’t help but be happily immersed in the process. Having tasted wines from vineyards in Chili, Argentina, South Africa, Australia and California I can say This vineyard represents what the Okanagan has at its full potential, we’re truly blown away
My husband and I had an incredible tasting and charcuterie board. (The board was truly thoughtful and fabulous - would recommend! Thank you Chef Sarah) Wine was - great, and our sommelier Carly, was wonderful. The concierge Nya was the pinnacle of what you would expect of great service. Nya was the smiling face of what most vineyards can only dream represent their wine. -Bliss!
Best view of the valley. For the price of the tasting there is some work to do to improve the experience as it is it definitely wasn’t worth the price. Didn’t like that they pre poured the wine and just let it sit out to warm up and collect bugs on the table. Also felt more information on the wines and winery should be provided.
Beautiful view, beautiful wine
We dropped by on the way to Osoyoos, and found that all the wine tasting had to be booked online beforehand. However, the staff were very helpful and friendly and helped us to do a special tasting. I do love the Merlot and the Riesling and finally we bought a bottle of the Riesling. the view and the statues were lovely and the building was very well- presented. We are happy with our overall experience and hopefully we can visit again.
Beautiful place!
Phantom Creek is an ideal destination of escaping city and crowds. I'm so glad I booked the Tour and Tasting experience, the staffs are very knowledgeable and friendly. Especially under current epidemic situation. They treat you nice and respectfully. The wines are spectacular, just as the views. Most impressive part is their farming and wine making philosophy, they care the nature and future generations and you can tell how dedicated they are by some of the very detail practices they take in place. Tess, the Brand Ambassador hosted us along the tour is very professional and easygoing, she shared many very interesting stories behind the scene. Wonderful experience, I recommend to make a reservation and experience it yourself!!!
An exquisite winery not to be missed on a visit to the Valley! Elegant and refined wines in a spectacular setting.
Great spot, great wines, great service! Thanks to Tess, we felt like VIPs.
The Restaurant at Phantom Creek never disappoints. We come here often for their special lunch and dinner events and always bring visitors to the Okanagan here. We were lucky to get into the last lunch menu for the year and it was spectacular. Sarah Fiore is an amazing chef and we enjoyed every dish we ordered. The wine pairings with the courses simply elevate the whole experience. So looking forward to the upcoming fall winter dinner menus!
Beautiful place - beautiful view - brand new Nice wine - service .... excellent Cant wait to come back 7*******
Amazing place !! Awesome View while tasting your wine !! Nice,Clean & Classy !!
I visited last week midweek and was very disappointed in my experience. We weren't thrilled about paying for a tasting and after the experience I would not suggest anyone waste their money. The view is gorgeous but you can drive up and enjoy the view without paying for mediocre wine. The 1 star is for the view nothing else. When we arrived for our 12pm reservation we were told to wait. 20 minutes after our reservation time we were finally seated at a table with warm rose waiting for us to taste with no one to explain the wine or anything. It was 30 degrees out so waiting outside in the sun wasnt great nor was the wine that had been sitting in the same weather. The following whites that were brought to our table were also served warm which is not enjoyable at all. When it came to the reds the lady left the final 2 reds on our table, explained what the wine on the right and left were and left (despite us not all having the same wine on the left) this was the end of the experience. She never came back. Never explained where to purchase wine or even talked about the wine club. One of the group wanted to buy a bottle and were redirected to a different area to purchase. Overall very disorganized and not worth it. I could name half a dozen wineries on the same road I would recommend over this one. As locals we have and will continue to discourage others from wasting their time and money.
The view and building it self was stunning! I wasn’t a fan of the wine per say, or the tasting fee it was pretty expensive. When the restaurant opens, I’ll be curious to try that!
Beautiful winery
Neel made our experience unforgettable! I didn’t want to leave ! Friendly, educational and just amazing !! Thank you !
Amazing facility and wine to match. If you love great classic wine, go. Not for people that prefer the sweet inexpensive stuff.
Ordered online for Father's Day and my order was shipped the next day and arrived the day after. Wish I could order more of that leather-bound notebook. The wine has been excellent so far.
Impressive from the drive up the driveway through the vineyard! Impeccably designed and the tour was informative and so professional. We did the cellar tour; the building is breathtaking. The wines were all good - the Rose was amazing! Will be back with more friends. Well done!
Move over Mission Hill there is a new winery in town!! Gorgeous estate, stunning views and very contemporary museum like building. Recommend tour of the winery and of course finish off with a tasting on the patio - up or downstairs. Enjoyed several of their red wines
I would like to say thank you to Katya. She was absolutely amazing! ???? So knowledgeable and friendly. It was probably the best tour we ever had!
Beautiful winery with exceptional valley and vineyard views. A very modern and spacious tasting room. The wines were all very good. The service was subpar, but our host did apologize as they were short staffed. Definitely worth a stop.
It’s clear that an exorbitant amount of time, effort, and money has gone into this facility. And it is simply gorgeous. The tasting room is well worth a visit, but know they have a steep tasting fee. Plenty of parking, nice clean washrooms. The wines are good, but a bit on the expensive side. Without a doubt the best view in the South Okanagan.
I am an indoCanadian and got there on a Friday afternoon when the place only had 2 other couples in the place but was told that they where full. The other couples where white ! We where turned away and embarrassed as other people witnessed our rejection ! If you are not white do not bother to come to this place !
In advance, I had booked lunch for a group of 9, however, when arriving the hostess could not find our reservation in the system. She was helpful in trying to locate our reservation but was not able to accommodate us. She was then advised by her manger that our booking was for the wine tasting section instead of lunch. This was not our original booking, especially with having 3 minors amongst our group. We were all looking forward to a nice family meal. I was very disappointed with how the manager handle the situation by sending out the hostess to deliver the bad news and send us away rather than trying to find a solution to their error. We were more than willing to accommodate other solutions. They lacked proper communication skills and were highly unorganized. The customer service was horrible and I would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone.
This new winery spares no expenses in not just producing good wines but in design and architecture as well. The attention to detailsis jaw dropping. Prices on their wines are very reasonable. Hope that won't change as the Winery becomes more known
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️???? We had absolutely amazing experience at Phantom Creek. We booked private tour and tasting and it was fabulous. Ian was really knowledgeable and showed us this state of art winery. The building, artwork and winemaking equipment are all top of the line! Everything was extremely clean too. We really like organic and Biodynamic wine marking process. Katya provided really good and memorable wine tasting experience. This winery and service are so good, that you don’t want to leave. Thanks a lot, team!
beautiful winery the marble was solid beautiful legacy build but the cherry on top was Blake amazing tasting experience took home some amazing bottles can’t wait to share them with friends and use blake’s amazing vernacular and impress them
Couldn’t rate my experience here high enough! It’s absolutely breathtaking (the most beautiful views in the area!), the service was amazing and the wine was delicious! Nya was absolutely outstanding! To be greeted by such a lovely, kind person straight away was really welcoming. Such great customer service! Thank you for making our experience that much better! Can’t wait to come back!
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and tasting at Phantom Creek. The grounds, building and art are beautiful on their own, the wine, even better! The staff here are very knowledgeable about their products and facilities. They're also very attentive and work hard to create such a great guest experience. And the view... absolutely stunning! Make sure you make a reservation before arriving. Can't wait to visit again and try more of their offerings.
High class setting, excellent views, complex wines, and a knowledgable staff.
Experience of wine story and relaxing
Phantom Creek is a truly beautiful location, the view is absolutely stunning and the complex is gorgeous and modern, clearly no expense was spared in the goal to create a luxurious space and experience. The tasting experience was bizarre and very confusing. Our host first brought us two white wines each, and blazed through the tasting notes for both of them without leaving us much time to explore the wines ourselves. Information about the winery and the vineyards was not very specific and focused a lot on the pedigree of their winemakers and how expensive some of the land was, as if we should be impressed. Soon after we were presented with a rose, and three reds at the same time, so we had a flight of four wines each and the table became cluttered and confusing. It was difficult to remember which wine was which, especially without written tasting notes for us to follow along or refer to throughout the tasting. Our host again rattled off the tasting notes for these 4 wines, often repeating how "fruit forward" they are or praising the "smooth tannins". Somehow all three of the reds seemed to have almost identical tasting notes according to our host. In future I would suggest each wine be brought out individually, the host can then go through the tasting notes with the clients and then allow 5ish minutes for the clients to taste and experience alone before returning with the next wine. This will eliminate confusion and allow for a much more guided and personalized experience. Now onto the wines, sadly we found them to be very boring. Only the Rose had much flavour at all. The reds curiously lacked any nose whatsoever and were so dry on the palate as to make discerning any subtle flavour almost impossible. Thankfully a jug of water is provided as you will certainly need it to combat the horrible case of dry mouth that will result from drinking the red wines. The whites were equally boring, inexpressive on the nose and flat in flavour. Finally they are all expensive, with the rose being the cheapest at $30. The tasting fees are very expensive at $20-$25 and are not waived upon purchase, leaving us to feel as though they have overstepped on their budget to build this magnificent space and are footing their clients with the bill. Overall the whole place has a sense of "faux luxury" about it, not very genuine. In conclusion: Stunning views in a beautiful location, although somewhat pretentious and disingenuous. Boring, lacklustre wines that curiously lacked both flavour and aroma. Confusing, rushed and clearly very rehearsed tasting experience. Very overpriced and clearly all about the money.
Very good wine, beautiful place,hi class
We had never had the opportunity to see Phantom until just now. This place is very young and I see great things from Phantom as it develops. We loved the look of the place, kind of Grand for a Oliver place. But WOW!! First and foremost...Nya. OMG! First meeting her was a inkling of what was to come. One of the most wonderful experiences I have enjoyed EVER!! When I looked at Phantom Winery and Nya, it becomes very clear that they are a very perfect fit!. Classy, grand, fun as well as unique. She passed us to a lovely young man to help in our tastings. Very knowledgeable. Winds at Oliver were not in our favour this particular day. Nya kept her cool and made out experience a 1000% more better. She kept calm, made us laugh, and just added to our time there. She was interested in us too, that made it fun! Phantom, Nya is a perfect reflection of your winery. I will go back because of her. Nya, thank you!!
Terrible service. Took almost an hour before we even got a table and it wasn’t busy. No one greeted us, no one checked our table once. We left after being at our table for another 20 minutes of not getting any service. They charged our card $160 without even taking our order, which they had to refund before we left. Everything was very slow and there was almost no communication from the woman who was supposed to be our host. For charging such premium rates for tastings they did not match their service to that standard at all. Wasted almost 2 hours of our day that would have been much better spent at any other winery.
Wine Order from Club comes leaking ( it was a pickup- so no shipping issues) and they still have not fixed the issue. Called on three separate occasions and every time it's a different story of someone was suppose to follow up but never did. From this kind of winery I have expected much more. I will be waiting now for my refund. Terrible customer service and handling of issues.
My boyfriend and I wanted to treat my mom and step dad to a great winery experience and this was just the place. The concierge Nya was amazing and brought such a bright presence to the winery! She was very personable and made our experience better with her great recommendations. i usually don't like Chardonnay but theirs was not as heavy bodied and was very easy drinking! The charcuterie board was absolutely delicious (still thinking about it now). Amazing place, amazing views, amazing staff! would give more stars if i could
Amazing views, definitely worth the drive up. $100 for 4 people, not worth it. If you’re not part of their club, you don’t get to sit outside and enjoy the views.
Excellent wines - very informative hostess Tess and great ambiance. Well done ! Alan
The good... Beautiful grounds, amazing architecture and sculpture. The bad... Didn't get to try their wines because they were full, but it's probably better this way since I learned later that it is $25/person for a tasting. We'd already been to 7 other wineries already to taste and buy their releases. Each were paid tastings and credited to us when we bought wine to take home. Coming here wouldn't add much value for us. The ugly... The atmosphere is uncomfortable based on the service I received in trying to book a tasting and the clientele it attracts. I agree it's a bit pretentious so I wouldn't be inclined to return despite how beautiful the winery is and that the restaurant would be a place I would want to try.
Beautiful
Blake gave us an incredible tour, made sure we had the greatest experience possible, we left with 6 bottles!
Phantom Creek Estate is an amazing experience. My husband and I reserved a guided tour and we were not disappointed. Our guide/sommelier, Jason, was incredibly knowledgeable yet very welcoming and answered the many questions we had. The winery itself is stunning from the colours to the stone work to the textures used throughout. I highly recommend a stop here on your next visit to Oliver.
An amazing winery! The wine here is so good and the staff were amazing. The architecture at this winery is spectacular. We can't wait to visit again and check out the restaurant!
We were super excited to try out this beautiful Winery. The views are absolutely breathtaking. My yucky review is based on the fact that 1.) the staff was not wearing masks..like at all and that was a huge bummer. I know it’s hot but the servers should be wearing masks. 2.) the white wines and rose were sitting in the sun and warm. Hard to enjoy the flavor. 3.) we could not hear our server (feel like she wasn’t sure of what she was saying) and she didn’t look us in the eyes once. 4.) the charcuterie plate and cheese boards were fairly pricey and not entirely tasty. Overall: It was a paid tasting with very small pours, they were not taking covid-19 safety seriously, they stuck us in the sun even with a paid reservation, our server was not knowledgeable BUT the view was beautiful.
Beautiful tasting room and facility at this new winery. Enjoyed both the white and reds.
We added food pairing to our tour and wine tasting and it was amazing!
Needs much improvement. Experience there was way below average. No one greeted us as we walk through their front door despite having a reception desk. Walked around literally for 10mins before anyone came up to ask if we needed help. They seemed to only care about people who either booked a tour or wine tasting session. I was interested in their wine so I still ended up with a purchase. They didn't bother to offer a bag until I asked. Additionally, other wineries offered proper reusable wine bag while they gave me a fragile wide-bottom paper bag - my bottle just ended up swinging around inside since it was so unbalanced while holding it. That doesn't seem to align with their fancy looking shop to provide cheap paper bag (not even logoed by the way). I requested a paper receipt but they said only email - which I believe the options are too limited. Typically I would buy more even for gifting but that horrible service and cheap presentation really turned me off. I must say neighboring wineries I visited were by far much better. There is a nice viewing deck and decor inside, but that ain't exclusive to their estate anyways. Not recommended in my opinion and could be at the bottom of your bucket list. Not impressed overall.
I would highly recommend giving this place a visit. We were walked through our tasting with Kim who was very knowledgeable and made the experience amazing. The buildings and views are also top notch.
Unreal architecture and tasting experience!
Gorgeous venue, great service and delicious wine!
I’m not sure there’s a better view at a winery. This place is impressive. I was interested if the wine would stand up to the quality of the property itself. The wine was solid.
Our family visit this winery for our first time, and it was a eye opener with its open layout patio view. Our family is a winery freak we collect many Merlots and Chardonnay’s. We are a member in Mission Hills branch and we had one of our best experiences here. Andrew has taken our wine flight experience to a next level and our family appreciated every moment at Phantom Creek. Andrew is experience and will give you a awesome experience. Cheers see you next year.
What a wonderful gem in the Oliver wine region. As a lover of full bodied reds they hit the spot. Sherry led our tasting and accommodated us all with our wine preferences. A must go when in the region.
Beautiful tasting experience with a great view and lovely estate. BTW, wines are very good as well, particularly the Estate Cab Franc Merlot
Beautiful setting. Food is good but not exceptional for the price. Portions weren't filling. We were offerred bread with our meal without being told there was a charge. The next day I looked at my receipt and I noticed that we was a $6 charge and another $12 charge for the bread. What a ripoff! One person had a bad reaction to her meal and got "oh well, that can happen with those peppers" as a response. Would not repeat nor recommend to anyone. There are better alternatives in the area.
