Here you have the feddbacks of real people who are consuming the products of District Wine Village (Winery) in Powell River (Canada).
At the moment this firm receives a rating of 4.3 stars over 5 and this score is based on 79 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is good, and it is based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the evaluation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they are happy, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to write opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery belongs to the category of Winery.
Was looking forward to this but unfortunately it is just so so. Wouldn’t return mostly because it is not great value for $. That said, I only tried the beer ($6.90 for sleeve and a bit inconvenient because I ordered at a brewery that had no seats and you can’t bring it to the next venue where our friends ordered food. Also had a take away, fairly small Cessar salad + popsicle. Popsicle was great but salad was average and 2 were $35.
Great place great people. A must visit
Seems like a good idea but most places allow the tasting fee to apply to purchase... not here (at least the one right at the entry) and $14 for a mini pizza. Crazy. Go to a real winery and the pub down the road. Also, not the easiest for mobility challenged folk. There is lots of handicapped parking (5 stalls) and a ramp in but then you have negotiate a maze to get anywhere.
It was really hard to give this place 5-stars and I am only doing it to help the two wineries we really enjoyed here. We visited every winery here on our trip. The place is still under construction so a few buildings aren't done yet, but there are several wineries, a brewery, and a restaurant. I will start with the good. The two wineries we really enjoyed and stood out the most were JoiRyde and Wapiti. Joiryde is owned and operated by women, as well as having a female winemaker as well. Very cool! The wines were also outstanding for a brand new winery. The Rose, Malbec, and Chardonnay were our favorites. All absolutely gorgeous wines. Plus we were greeted by this adorable winery dog! Staff was very knowledgable and authentic. We loved our tasting with Megan. Wapiti is apparently run by the old winemaker from Foxtrot which we have enjoyed in the past. Really nice Rhone style wines. The Pinot Noir was the star for sure, but I also recommend the Rose. Now for the bad. 1. The food from the restaurant was borderline not edible. I could barely get through a few bites. Although, my husband said the beer was great. Which is made by the restaurant. 2. If you buy wine from any winery and want to enjoy it on their patio or in the seating area, you have to pay a fee! Strangest business model I have ever seen. Hey, buy our wine, no pay us to drink it.... 3. The buildings are all identical and lack individual character. Apparently they have strict guidelines on what they are allowed to do. All that said, it is a very neat concept. We will certainly be back next year to see what it looks like after it's completed and to visit two of our favorite new wineries!
I liked this more than I thought. While not all the wineries are known ‘names’ the wines were well done and you can easily spend an entire afternoon here. Pack you’re own charcuterie and bring it from place to place. You will not be disappointed
A unique experience for wine tasting! The atmosphere was an energetic, festival style. Nice fountains and cooling mists, sunken stage for live entertainment and dancing. It was so great to be able to wine tour a variety of wineries in one place. Tasting fees apply as with all wineries and each winery sets there own price. Relaxed and not crowded even on a busy day. Parking was easy and the decor was beautiful. This will be a one stop wine tour once it is complete.
Super cool place, great wine good food and a relaxing vibe!
Great place to taste some wines from smaller wineries.
Andrea and Tracy were excellent at One Faith. The gentleman at Winemaker’s cut was very knowledgeable. The food and service of The Trading Post brewery was excellent.
Would love to rate this 5 out of 5 as all the winiers we visited were outstanding Silhouette, nk mip and joiryde But was also looking forward to lunch and that was a huge disappointment, bland, overpriced and served in a cardboard box ???? Will visit again but will make sure to eat lunch first
I went there few days after it opened. I would definitely go back when other stores open. It was such a nice experience as we did not have to drive around to get a taste of wine from other stores. It was more of like a Winery Theme Park for me! ????
A wonderful way to sample small estate wineries product.
Great food and beer at the Trading Post. Friendly staff. New wineries worth trying and great atmosphere
This is the BEST idea! It is so nice to try new wines and learning the vineyard' story. This is an all day spot.
Cool concept. It will be interesting when its complete. They definitely need a local rate for tasting fees etc
Great atmosphere.
Lovely place! Great setup
Amazing idea@ super cool ????. Could use better food selection but otherwise great
The architecture is fine, but the clientele completely ruin the experience. People brought their children and dogs with them, not something one wants around when trying wines. The wineries themselves are fine. If they bring in an age limit and a no pet policy, I would come back.
This is an amazing spot!! Cannot rave enough about it. What a concept. Worth the trip.
Nice place, use of space on each patio is very limited. Parking the same. Nice little market behind the building, crafts, veggies, fruit..... Great idea.
Great venue. Several wineries in one place.
Today was Larry's 80 th birthday and 23 of us took a bus ride to the Wine Village. What a great venue! We had a fabulous time. The service was great and staff very friendly. Would definitely go again.
Absolutely an amazing place to go for wine tasting, or to just hang out and have a few drinks with friends. I think we hit most of the wineries there ended up buying a lot more wine than expected to. If you are visiting and or driving through Oliver BC.
Visited the summer of 2021. Loved it. Great selection of wineries. Beautiful peaceful surroundings. Hope this fabulous idea catches on in other cities. I would go to Oliver just to revisit the Wine Dostrict!
A newer facility. Still working on it. Its a great idea and great experience. Would highly recommend it. Could use more food options and a short flight of stairs to parking. There is a long ramp but the stairs would be great.
I like the concept. It feels California'ish. Wines are good and the layout is good, except for parking. But prices are definitely outrageous $50 for a glass of wine and a personal pizza. Someone is making money, but I don't think it's the wineries. If they don't make changes soon it maybe just a fade that goes away. I hope the powers to be adjust the prices, food choices and parking...good luck.
In order to drink bottles of wine purchased in the village, you have to pay an extra $12 corkage fee on top of every bottle, if you’re not wanting to drink it directly in front of the winery you purchased it from. And they don’t seem to be forthcoming with this information at the time of the purchase. Great concept, extremely expensive execution.
Many fantastic wineries. Great place to stop!
While it’s still under construction, there are several amazing micro wineries already operating and definitely worth a visit. This is a first class facility; the architecture is beautiful, they have fun misters you can use to cool off and your kids will love, and even the public bathrooms were really nice (smell nicer than mine at home). Highly recommend visiting and if you do, make sure to stop at Gneiss (pronounced “nice”). It was my favourite winery!!! They have really friendly staff, excellent wine and apply your tasting fee towards a purchase.
Not finished so incomplete review. Could use more food places. Description of wineries. Better chairs up and down. Be nice to sit in middle with a bottle or two with friends.
Very poor! The wines were good but the wine tasting experience was the worst. Melissa there was horrible and felt neglected and lost. What a shame to show off such beautiful wines :-( in such a way.
????
Really fabulous idea ... its not completely finished & not all the buildings have an inhabited tenant but im sure they are all leased out you can't go wrong here....we inquired there needs to be way more shade & tables & chairs....there was a fabulous female guitarist singing in the round she was awesome too ❤....its all coming along very nicely in their soft opening working out the kinks ....we had beers cider & oven baked fresh pizza, I had the vegan & totally delicious.....thank you we will be back for sure!
While this is a phenomenal idea, there needs to be some tweaks and they should happen much sooner than later. When I was informed of the “wine village” I thought it was a place where you could taste wines from various wineries while enjoying the beautiful weather in a comfortable, relaxed outdoor setting. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Yes, you can taste wines from various wineries but you might as well be at that winery because you must either sit and drink it in their cordoned off area or someone will follow you with it to the center area so you can enjoy it there. There’s only one vendor that offers an apple or pear cider for an alternative to wine but again you must drink it in one of their two small cordoned off areas or the center. Same with the food. Therefore, if you’re at one of the other wineries and get hungry, your party must move to one of the other areas where food is allowed. This becomes impossible when it’s busy and most of the tables are full. As mentioned, it’s a great idea but there has to be a way to make it more relaxed and more inclusive (ie treated as a whole and not separate parts).
Great concept. Needs more food options though
Fist year, not fully rented out yet. Will be a great destination maybe 2022. Did have a nice visit there though.
Can wait until all the spots are filled!
Looking forward to the finished product.
Great place to come and try different wines. Charging is available for electric vehicles.
For the Wine lovers !! “District Wine Village” is now opened. Located in Oliver / Wine Capital of Canada. Please visit if you are traveling in that area. Ample parking is available Once fully finished , this is going to be super good for “one stop / shop wine tasting / relaxing” Signage on the road can be improved, hope it’s all taken care once the project is fully finished.
The shops we visited were top notch. Too bad that it's still a construction zone.
Very neat experience! Will be back.
Awesome place, I would like to see a grand piano on the premises foany one to play when there is no musician on !
Its been fun building this. And watching other people enjoy it now that its been opened
It’s a great way to taste different wines all in one stop. The water features are amazing and there is a water mist that runs through the top of the circle keeping it cool. Very meet place to meet friends
Was a very nice visit for the Village still not being quite finished and all vendors not open yet. It will be a great attraction to visit while in the Oliver - South Okanagan wine region.
Great place. Sounds like there are a lot of plans for events. Cool seating area. Passports required. YAY!
Food options rather limited. Not as big as you'd think, but still under development. Certainly worth a visit though, it's a nice day out.
Unique venue and adult phone at its best ????
Beautiful place to go. Tasting are mostly $10 and wiaved per bottle purchased. Food was waaaay overpriced but there's only 1 place to buy food. Most wine servers were super friendly and knowledgeable. Good experience overall. A lot smaller than what the websites perceived it to be.
District wine village is a wonderful place. So many wineries to choose from with delicious wines. Also good food choices between the weinery food truck and trading post eatery. I will definitely be back! Joiryde was my favourite tasting!
First time there. Great place. Will be nice when all buildings are done. Great spot for live music also.
Really fun atmosphere, especially if you like wine
Currently about 8 business are open mostly wineries. It is an amazing concept with a great range. There are also some breweries open. When you turn down enterprise drive it currently looks like a construction site. Drive around to the other side to enter. Can't wait to return when fully open.
Great experience
Great place Nice clean Lots of good wine Good Beer also Truffle fries at Trading Post amazing
Some construction is going on
Very nice set up and still more to come. Distillery opening in the fall. Food options available. Staff at all wineries were very friendly and informative with absolutely no pressure to hurry through the tasting or purchase bottles. Well behaved dogs are welcome inside and out.
Visited last week, They just opened a week before so not much things to do. Couple of wine option and one brewery . A very ideal place for evening hangout, i think it will age fine like a good ????
