We had a lovely family meal centred on pasta, bread and salad.

Stopped in at this quaint bistro recently and was surprised by one of the best meals I had eaten in ages. First of all the dining room is quaint with a european ambiance, open kitchen and first rate wine list. I had the Beef Carpaccio, Eggplant Slider followed by the Lamb Shank. The food was presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. Very friendly and helpful staff. Five star cuisine at a very reasonable price, this is a must visit in Powell River

Amazing!! Great staff and some of the best Italian food we’ve had in recent memory. Great pizza!

Fantastic dinner tonight- had family in town from Vancouver, all 12 of us had dinners to brag about! I had the steak special this was the best flavours I have had in a long time ... great staff and service!!!

Visiting Powell River from Australia and dined at Culaccino - wonderful Italian food, perfect portion size and friendly service. The flatbread was divine and the fettuccine carbonara and the meatballs were fabulous. The special of the day was one of the best pizzas I've ever had - ricotta cream base - amazing! The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is they didn't have the wine we ordered from the wine list. But we had a lovely Rose instead. This restaurant is a gift to PR - go enjoy it!

Amazing food!! Words are not enough to describe the flavour! Polenta is amazing and the pizza (ricotta and mushroom) is seriously the best pizza I've ever eaten!! Wonderful service!

Surabhi Pasrija

Great service! The meatball pasta combo for two came with a salad and a garlic bread. The salad was beyond delicious. A must try!

Laurie Gabriel

The best pasta I've had that I can remember. I got the Linguini Carbonara with Truffle, absolutely delicious. Excellent service, reasonably priced!

British Columbia

Oh my goodness!!! You have to go here! The food, the service, the drink selection, the whole experience!!! Top notch! All pastas are hand made daily and anything you have I promise you will crave days later! This is a must go to hands down!

I can't stop thinking about my meal here. Had the meatball trio, frido misto special to share. Unreal flavours, and by far juiciest, most decadent meatballs ever tasted. For my main I had the ravioli and my gosh what a revelation, the sauce is to die for. To finish off I had the chocolate ganache tart, it was amazing. Can't wait to come back!

What a little gem of a restaurant this is! They easily get five stars from me for several reasons: 1. The ambiance is incredible- quaint- I felt like I was transported to a European restaurant… 2. The service—classy, professional. They made a mistake with our food order and quickly owned it, remade it and compensated. We felt appreciated and valued as customers. We loved our waitress - she was friendly and really helpful. 3. The Food- I bet there isn’t anything of poor quality here- their pasta is made in house- the sauces are delicious. We ordered polenta fries(awesome!!!), four cheese lasagna, spaghetti Arabiatta, and the Spaghetti and meatballs…. Everything was so good…we will most definitely be back when we visit again!

Even being short of staff, this restaurant delivered amazing service and high quality food. The pizza we had was great with lots of flavour. Excellent bubbly and appetizers as well. Best restaurant on the main strip of town.

The dinner for 2 includes a salad, spaghetti w meatballs and cheeesy bread. All was phenomenal. The salad was so delicious and refreshing which was a very pleasant surprise. Attentive wait staff and lots of happy customers on a Saturday night. Definitely worth a visit or two!

Mike Pedersen

Fabulous meal. Chef went the extra mile and created a special pasta dish to deal with my friends food allergies. Awesome!

Rob F

The service was amazing and the environment super cozy, but I found my pizza (truffle mushroom) to be waaay too cheesy. Could just be a personal preference though, everything else was great! Really liked the polenta fries.

Fiona Krogh

Soooooo good! Everything was delicious and the waitresses wine suggestion was spot on. I had an incredible layered lemon dessert served in a jar that was a heavenly surprise for every spoonful.

Jenn Gaiger

We enjoyed the dinner but the linguini that we ordered was just a bit too salty for our family. It was little difficult to have two young children due to the space being a bit compact. With that said, we still enjoyed a great family dinner.

Caitlin Padgett

Absolutely fantastic delicious meal! Best lasagna I’ve ever tasted. Hands down. Cute little outside patio to enjoy our wonderful meal. Great service!

I sometimes lie awake at night and my stomach growls for Culacchino's polenta fries and their Spaghetti Aglio E Olio. I consider taking the ferry from Earl's Cove to see my friends in Powtown and to stop in, but then I remember the lockdown and these other public health orders, so I stay in Xwilkway (Halfmoon Bay), and wait for better days. Thank-you. Your staff also add to a very fine experience. See you soon I hope :)

Was on route to Willingdon beach and decided to grab a dessert to go. Glad I did. The Lemon Olive Oil Cake was amazing! - Running neck and neck with Costa's key lime pie for best dessert in town. Will have to try them both again to compare.

Perfect - this restaurant came highly recommended from my brother (and he doesn’t give away recommendations easily). We arrived to an amazingly comfortable setting and great lighting. It’s a great place to eat, drink and enjoy company. We had the pizzas and some pasta. They hand make their pasta which was a nice authentic touch. The pizza is now my top favourite pizza I have ever had and will be tough to top. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Thank you! - Can’t wait to return!

We stop here every time we come near Powell River (even if it means going out of our way), and from our very first visit shortly after opening, it has never disappointed. The owners take feedback professionally and sincerely and strive to improve your experience. The staff is friendly and informed and their passion shows through without being overbearing. A great wine list and lots of nods to traditional classics with some fresh takes makes Culaccino a wonderful place to while away an afternoon, fuel up for dinner or kill time waiting for a ferry. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Eric Christensen

Good pasta but only order the carbonara if you really like truffle oil.

Tal Vardi

Had the "dinner for two" and it was very good, particularly the salad which was amazing. Things we didn't like were the limited menu, the cramped seating, the cost (Covid?), and the Dennys playlist. Would still go back because of the food.

Unbelievably delish. If you like flatbread, this is the best I have had. Carpaccio, fennel salad, and duck ragu were previously enjoyed by my friends and family and gave rave reviews on each dish. Polenta fries are on my list for trying next time we go. They look amazing! Highly recommend this place.

Daniel Reeh

Food was mediocre, but based on the pricing (on the expensive side) and the presentation (which was pretty good), you would expect a lot better. Staff was very friendly, wine was great, but there are way better places to eat in PR..

Patrick McClean

Great service and delicious food. The spaghetti and meatballs was so unic, so different and amazing just like this lovely town.

Well worth visiting. 4.5 ⭐️ Let me brake it down into sections. This is a small restaurant with,I’d say 28 seats. The feel is quite formal fancy with a rustic flexible floor. Here is the half star ⭐️ loss. Because of its size the entrance comes right into the seating and can cause drafts on cold and blustery evenings. The space is limited so the tables don’t give a lot of space between but the waiting staff know how to dance between without distraction, a testament to their ability. The staff are first rate friendly and attentive. Never had to call for refilling water. You can see and hear a little of the kitchen and they work quiet and in unison. This isn’t a Gordon Ramsey yell fest. Excellent. The food is absolutely amazing. All handmade pastas and sauces. The pasta is cooked to perfect al dente. Flavour layering with textures is fine dining. I’ll stack this against any Italian restaurants I’ve eaten in Italy ????????. The fish cake is wonderful with a crunchy outer crust and moist tender inner. Fried capers and garnish is top shelf. Highly recommend. The portion sizes are ample bordering on large so you don’t have to worry about them high-end hunger pangs in an hour after eating there like other high-end eateries. The price reflects the portions. In short... if you visit Powell River or live there, you have a gem of a higher end restaurant. Go give them some love and support.

i have been to this little gem a couple of times when I am in town and have had Clam with Squid Ink Linguine sooo good. The restaurant is quiet and easy to converse in, great decor and excellent service. A great find. Check it out

RACHELLE FORD

We had some interesting dishes prepared in novel ways here, which is not normal for Powell River. The food culture in this town is excellent, but doesn't take many risks. Not so for Culaccino.

Fawne Faris

By far the best Italian food I have ever had, service is amazing, they serve you fresh and straight from the oven food! Unfortunately I was too busy eating the delicious food, forgot to take pictures..Really recommend this place! Don't miss it guys! Special mention for Margherita pizza and vegetarian lasagna

Nick Hopkins

Food is consistently excellent! Pastas, salads... omg pizza best I’ve ever tasted and the steak on Friday and Saturdays well worth the price. Such amazing flavours, great service! What’s not to love!

Christene Sache

Delicious pasta and a gluten free option for guys like me with wheat allergies. Highly recommended. I had the braised shirt rib pasta dish, was delicious. The kitchen noise is a bit loud but it just adds to the fun atmosphere, it didn't bother me at all.

Bettina Maria Fuglerud

Lovely food. Very short simple menu but executed to perfection. Home made pasta really makes a difference. Great service.

Victoria Heron

Absolutely lovely! Very friendly waitresses, simple yet elegant decor, beautifully prepared handmade pasta for fair prices. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience here and would highly recommend!

Ann Tang

Easily one of the best Italian restaurants in BC. Their use of truffle oil is second to none. Steak night could even be potato night too they were so tasty. Don't hesitate to try the Fungi pizza.

Mei Louis

Finally got a chance to try this little gem while home visiting my family. Powell River is so fortunate to have a world class restaurant like this! The cocktails were perfect (I had the Botched Negroni and the Aperol Spritz - the second being a drink that I order anywhere I see it available and Culaccino really nailed it). We share the generous portion of olives and the flatbread, which I could eat every day. So good. I also had the Stone Fruit Merengue for dessert but dug into it so quickly I couldn't take a nice photo (that's a good sign, right?!). The delicate flavours and textures worked really well together. Now I can't wait for my next visit!

Great food, awesome service. Meat ball sandwich was amazing. Had lentil soup. Perfect on a cold day.

My husband and I had the pleasure of having lunch at Culaccino's a couple of weeks ago, everything was delicious and so well made and presented. The soup, the pasta the salad, and the service were all excellent, we are so happy we went there on a whim, when heading to the coffee shop next door. We will definitely be back whenever in Powell River!

Erik Kolb

This place beats any Italian place we’ve been to. We had the Italian garden salad and spaghetti with meatballs. Absolutely delicious. Great service and cozy little place.

Wow, really impressive kitchen and service - 100% recommended

Stayed one night in Powell River and I am very happy I chose this restaurant. It was a treat night out for my mom, we split polenta fries and one of the pizzas. Hands down one of the best pizzas both of us have ever experienced. Polenta fries were also exceptional, very crispy with two dips. Highly recommend this restaurant.

G Madsen

Amazing authentic Italian cuisine, handmade pasta and the best Italian sausage I've ever had. The carpaccio and cocktails were fabulous as well
