The ambiance is great. I think it was generously priced for the location and the quality of food. So good!!! Took a day trip over from Comox with the husband and happened upon this GEM of a restaurant. I ordered the grilled lingcod tacos, which, quite honestly, were the best fish tacos I have EVER had! Talk about being blown away! Were we in Powell River or the Baja California Peninsula? The Service was great from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. They were even able to accommodate the hubby's extensive food allergies. The chef came out to discuss options with him and then made him a special order that was absolutely delicious! We will be back! Even if it costs $200 round trip in boat gas. This place is absolutely worth a return visit!!!

We were amazed by the dishes served at this restaurant. We ordered the fish tacos, chicken enchiladas and poblanos fritos -- all were delicious and fairly priced. You will go home stuffed and happy! The decor is lovely and service to match. Drinks are on the pricier side but it's worth it as you can taste the alcohol ;). We will try the key lime pie next time as it's supposedly the best dessert in town!

Went to this quaint little eatery on main street with the girlfriend for our date night. Service was exceptional, the servers were very friendly and eager to please. The food was to die for! I had the crunch wrap and the girlfriend had a prawn taco, and a yam taco. Their key lime pie was also to die for. It's small, but I cant recommend this place enough.

Our lunch there on our last day in Powell River was a great way to fuel up before traveling. Serving sizes were more than adequate and they even custom created a vegan burrito for me. It was enormous. Decor and music create a pleasant atmosphere to relax in, but the service is still expedient. My wife had the fish tacos and loved them. We'd certainly be back if in Powell River again.

Just finished biking 90+ km from Parksville to Comox. Upset to see that the ferry terminal had nothing to offer outside of a vending machine but WORRY NOT! Such a cute little spot! Small and quaint with great colors, serving authentic Mexican dishes. Its very small so its always quite busy and hard to get a table. Be sure to get there early or just before closing! Our server was very nice and cheerful. Recommended as a local favorite spot!

Excellent food and service overall. I thoroughly enjoyed the poblano frites and also the quesadilla and chicken tacos. The mole chicken wings not so much. Small portion of tiny wings and a rather lame mole sauce. I have had the habanero lime fried chicken bites on two occasions. The first time they were excellent, but the second time rather dry with very little sauce. They seemed quite different and not in a good way. Hopefully just an anomaly. However, it is still one of my favorite restaurants in Powell River and I highly recommend it.

Exceptional experience: visited Powell river for three days and went here twice! Cosy setting with Latin music playing in the background, with comfortable seating with a fire table to add to the ambience. Ordered numerous dishes over the two meals and the top hits were the Verde Muerte, a mezcal based cocktail a must have. Citrusy drink with the smokiness from the mezcal and the chili lemon salt to give that next level kick. The poblano Fritos is an amazing take on the onion rings but with the poblano pepper. The jambalaya, may not be true to its origins but the flavors were amazing. The wet burrito - it’s huge and it’s topped with an queso sauce that complimented the dish very well. And last but not least, the key lime pie, loved the combination of the key lime with the crumble and fresh cream. Ferin, our waiting staff was amazing and provided some great recommendations! The house also surprised us by treating us with the pie for my sister’s bday! A must visit.

The tacos, margaritas and the roadside tables with ocean views reminded us so much of Mexico. Absolutely delicious! The hostess however was telling everyone 30-40 min wait while tables sat empty. We were told the same and came back in 15 and were seated. But watched many folks decide to eat elsewhere due to the wait they were being told. Shouldn't be a negative for the restaurant but they're likely losing revenue on an easily remedied coaching opportunity

Going through the front door is like going to Mexico. The decor and the food take me there ............ right there. I was celebrating an anniversary and coming here was like reliving our honeymoon 21 years ago. The food was superb. I actually ate the whole thing and was stuffed. Costa del Sol is a favourite of my wife's and me. One of the things we enjoy doing in PR is to do a sort of pub crawl where we visit 3 or 4 restaurants along Marine and have a drink and an appy at one or 2, then a drink and dinner at another, finishing the tour with a drink and desert at yet another locale. It's a fun way to sample all the amazing food that PR establishments have to offer. At Costa del Sol our go to is the always amazing and surprisingly potent Palomarita with their outstanding Poblanos Fritos (deep-fried pepper rings. They resemble onion rings). So good and a great way to start our tour off. The service is always friendly and the decor is colourful and on point.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They don't have a kids menu, but they'll divide an entree--they'll give you a fraction of the entree for a fraction of the price. I had the creole jambalaya and later came back for the maverick. Both dishes where phenomenal. I tried a few drinks and all where great, from the margarita's to the la Bamba and probably my favorite was murte Verde. It's a great cocktail at a great price! If I could give this place no stars I would. Although the staff was great the food was terrible. I ordered take out, a chicken enchilada and 1 meat taco.. The food was pretty flavorless, when there was any flavor on the occasional bite, it was of cheap powdered taco seasoning and chilli powder. The rice and beans served with the enchilada was instant rice and canned beans, and I paid $34 for this?? I can make better mexican with a package of taco seasoning at ¼ of the price. I will NEVER get food from here again. I wouldn't even eat it if it was free

I can't recommend this place enough! If you eat here, the poblano peppers are a must..they were out of this world!! We tried all the tacos, and a few cocktails which were also delicious. The service was great, and our waitress was very sweet!

The nachos were great! I really did enjoy that dish, and the extra guac. But the quesadilla I had wasn’t good. The chicken inside was bland and they gave one spoon of salsa. I dunno… it was just something I could make at home when cooking lazily. On no planet would I pay 20 bucks for that again. However, my companions liked their tacos. It did take a long time to produce our food and I joked that there was no way they had to just now slice the cabbage for these tacos… but my watch said differently. My margarita was too big for only 1.5 oz alcohol. It was more like a fun summer drink than a serious cocktail but I won’t knock it for that because I believe that might’ve been the intent and I just misunderstood. Tasty sweet coconut margarita.

Walked in on a Sunday night. The domes outside were so cozy and quite warm with jazz music softly playing in the background. The server was attentive and friendly. The fish tacos was quite a lot, so felt full from that one order. The nachos appetizer was also a cast iron full of nachos. The sangria was delicious but didn't have too much alcohol, which was good for me but may be an issue for others. Overall, excellent experience! I highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic food! Some of the best Latin food I've had in BC; everything was fresh, flavorful, and well proportioned, and they have a wide ranging menu with daily drink specials. Service was good, it was busy when we went but they kept up pretty well.

If you are passing through or staying a couple nights here this place has to be on your list! The food is incredible, service is great, and it feels like you are in your own little world in here. Definitely worth checking out. This was the first time I dined here and I'll be back the next time I visit Powell River. I tried the Mexican crunch wrap and the wet burrito. I also tried the Key Lime pie and it was the near I've ever had.

It's a nice cozy restaurant I love the patio and the drinks are good. Spicy margarita is good. I had their wings and their pulled pork wet burrito and I think it could be better but we may had the not so popular dish. 3/5 as I would go back because of the patio and drinks again and will try other dish.

I had the poblano fritos and they were really good then for an entree I asked the chef to make me what ever he likes to make and that man did not disappoint. He made me this wrap with lettuce cheese chicken bacon and jalapeños and it was soo good. I really hope it gets put on the menu or as a special.

Probably the second best restaurant in Powell River (which is not surprising as it is owned by the first best). They have a small latin living room type of feel and can only seat a limited group. They do have an outdoor patio which watches the street and I suspect is amazing in summer. They have an excellent offering of mexican dishes with a few small twists. Kitchen staff are friendly and helpful. The taco's are decent in size and the burritos are great. They have a children's menu as well and some high chairs. There is wifi from somewhere but I am not sure if it is the restaurant which might make this a fun place to work during a early dinner break. There is limited street parking but they are on a bus route which I doubt runs that late.

This place is always packed of people and good smells from the kitchen. I had the veggie tacos with fried yam. the portion was very generous and it was better than some taco places in Vancouver. Lots of veggies. full flavour. The avocado ice cream sandwich was a bit disappointing, it was quite frozen and the sandwich was 2 store bought cookies. Cannot really taste any interesting.

I don't know where to begin. This restaurant is mirage in a sleepy beautiful town! We went with low expectations, tired after a long drive. Oh boy! were we in for a surprise!! Flavors exploded from every spoonful! The drinks were the most delicious. I had the green death - wowza! The food was so great that we went there twice. The ambience, the food, the service - Top notch! Beware - You will earn the wrath of the food gods if this is not on your pitstop to Savary island !!

Located conveniently in the heart of Powell river, this is a quaint little shop that offers delicious Mexican food. Slightly pricey and the portions are somewhat smaller but who wants to fill up when you are on a holiday! Try it once. If taste is your primary concern, you won't be disappointed.

We were in Powell River visiting friends and were told we "had to stop by Costa del Sol!" The atmosphere is great and you feel transported back home with those flavors and great service! It was a great experience to discover this beautiful place hidden in this town! I recommend everyone to stop by for a bite and some authentic Mexican beer!

Great food, cozy setting. What I cannot understand is with 4 or 5 front of house staff and 9 tables in the whole establishment ( avg seating for 2 ), why my glass ( as well as everyone’s at the table ) were constantly empty. Waiter seemed to be slightly shocked when met with our annoyance when he finally came back around, after what seemed like him checking out our empty glasses on several occasions walking past.

Last Saturday; The food was good but the server was so inattentive that we started making jokes about how many times she could walk by us with out making eye contact or checking on us. It's not like she was over run by tables either. The hostess however was so lovely, the atmosphere and patio were really nice as well. I'll def go back but will be bummed if I get that server again.
