They only add about 2-2.5 lb of co2 when you get a 5lb tank filled and I wish there were some more specialty grains available. But other than that usually good helpful people.

Can't comment on wine side of things, I'm not into that. Beer side is significantly better from what it was a few years ago. I still go home without what I went for most often however.

I had no clue where to go coming inside this little store in little Italy. I went directly to one of the staff, told him I’m new at this, showed him my list and he grabbed everything for me in a matter of a minute. He even took the time to shred all the grains and package them individually. The prices where low and the customer service was excellent. Thanks Jason for the great service! I recommend.

This was my first time visiting Defalco's and while it wasn't bad I'm not sure why everyone in the Ottawa area raves about them being the place to go for wine and beer making. I showed up with a fairly simple list of items for doing a bit of homebrewing. Finding where they all were was a pain because half the store seems to be taken up by wine and beer making kits rather than actual homebrewing equipment. The prices were also for the most part considerably higher than the same items from online retailers. In the end I left with only two items crossed off my list and the realisation that it may just be easier and cheaper to order what you need online.

Me and some friends just got into all grain brewing and this place has us covered for grain, gear, and other ingredients. Ordering online then picking up in person could be improved if we could pay online, too. But otherwise the pickup process is efficient.

Personal are good and they know there product... The only thing, i´m a homebrewer and they dont want to order a lot of specialtie grains... They keep the basic as for the hop selection, well its the same so no galaxy no warrior etc.. Substitution is okay but there is a limit when your recreating a recipe .... Prices on equipment like pots are way more expensive If i personaly need hardware, i go to applesaddlery on innes there price is unbeatable and matches ontario beer kegs prices!!!
