REVIEWS OF Cork & Bean IN Oshawa

Claire Wilcox

Great coffee and even better service! Highly recommend the salted caramel mocha, better than the one at Starbucks!

B L

Teen boys loved it, loved taking photos in basement area. Great snacks and coffee/tea.

Orelie

I went here for my friend Abigail’s 40th birthday. She rented out the entire restaurant and it was lovely. The food was great (highly recommend the charcuterie, butter tarts, espresso drinks and wine on tap - the Riseling was so good). Service was excellent too, if I’m ever in Oshawa again I’ll be sure to stop by.

Julie May

Great place in the middle of an interesting district. Odd variety should appeal to all. Live music, soup and sandwiches for lunch, tasty pastries, kombucha on tap along with beers. Port and wine available. Cheese plates. Large downstairs for a party or function. Wonderful servers that take the time to get to know those that want to be known.

Shaun Feldman

Cork and Bean was fantastic! The staff were friendly and funny from the moment I walked in the door! They have a great selection of craft beer (80+) and a really nice wine selection. My friends and I booked their private room downstairs - which is stunning - and they had really tasty meat and cheese boards! One of the owners even showed my friend how to sabre a bottle of champagne open!

Pascal Vermette

We had a work outing catered here and it was a great experience. Very large variety of beverages to choose from. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere.

Daxton Valyear

Tried a cup of coffee it was very good. Love the feel of this place, the decor. Nice place to meet over a coffee or glass of wine.

Paul Brown

This place is amazing. Great atmosphere, 80craft beer! Good scotch, wine and food. And some of the best coffee you will get in the city. Live music most nights. Good owners! Think I have said enough lol.

Aca Filip

Hey, this place is in Oshawa!!! Excellent coffee, sweets, nice interior. I recommend it if you are looking for a coffee/cake. I will check them again ... noticed they have a live music and variety of beers.

Alex Moldovan

Came here for a drink and some apps with some friends. Gotta say I really love this concept and I'm glad these folks are pulling it off so superbly in Durham. Coffee shop by day - wine bar at night is the norm in France and Italy. Loved the craft beer selection. Only bummer was that they had their entertainment that night working for tips. Aside from that I'd recomend this spot to catch up with friends or study during the day. The aesthetic is on point too, there's just something about that post-modern industrial.

Patrick Etheridge

Nice cafe, the events they run are really great. Went to their sangria workshop and had a great time and learned to make a few good summer drinks.

Adam White

Great service, tasty matcha lattee and pecan butter tart, bohemian atmosphere.

Mungo Proudfoot

Had another wonderful visit to the Cork and Bean I always find it extremely welcoming. Special mention for Leanne and Cullen tonight. Even thought they are always busy they are always pleasant and friendly. In these challenging times I always know I have a warm and friendly place to go! I did single out Leanne and Cullen tonight but the whole staff is just incredibly!! They have all have put a smile on my face ????!! Thank you so much Cork and Bean!!!!

John Mutton

Coffee is the best in the Schwa. Beautiful place

Alex Opydo

Walked in and felt right at home. The staff, the coffee, the decor... Everything about this place was just right. Made me wish I was a student again so I could study here. Good vibes.

Marion Morassutti

Wonderful. Butter tart and cafe au lait. Friendly and professional staff. Covid rules in place and followed. Highly recommend

Zaker Mehrez

Great ambiance, staff are very nice and helpful and the drink selection is great. Would have loved it if there were more food options but what is there is pretty great so I can't complain!

Philip La Lumiere

Incredibly professionally done cafe/bistro sorta place. They run a art gallery program too, and there's always new stuff to see. I've made this my regular spot for both high quality coffee and a nice pint

Laura Catone

Great coffee, great food variety, great staff and great ambiance! Chilling or business meetings - whenever I'm in Oshawa, I stop in!

Sam Landon

The icebar has a great mix of niche dishes with korean flaire. The store is cozy and separated into excellent nooks for desserts and tea or delicious meaty bbq supper. While some dishes take time its worth it to show patience and enjoy the company you come with. The chap chae is a noce texture and taste. The kalbi and bulgogi are marinated in delicious sauces and hot bbq sauce suits the pork dishes. The matcha latte is an absolute delight - lightly sweet and beautiful green tea taste. Lastly. The. Desserts..... Omg the desserts- worth a trip for those alone. Options for any preference sweet or light and fluffy.

Dave Croitoru

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, the live music they have is often really good. It's a great place to hang out with friends or just sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, and they have good ciders. The charcuterie boards are also awesome.

Ray Wallwork

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I've been twice now and look forward to going back. Cuban sandwich is highly recommended.

Janice Miller

Absolutely love this place,, amazing coffee and even better staff, truly a place to discover

Paul Keen

I was not expecting to find a place like this but I was very satisfied. Friendly server. Good sandwich. GREAT soup! I actually skipped the beer and the coffee given the hour of the day, but they had quite a selection of both. Check it out!

Bridget

This experience has been wonderful! I would highly recommend this to all my friends. The food is great, and the service is amazing. I will go back one day. For sure.

Michael Guy

I would love to give the Cork and Bean a higher rating but I paid a lot of money for lukewarm coffee. When you start to look around you realize this place could do with a good scrub!

Cassandra Somerville

Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte was so good. Store was clean and staff was friendly

Nathan Ghazarian

Great staff and great beer selection.

Ashley Thompson

Cullen is the man - top notch customer service. Warming atmosphere. Great selection of beverages. Five stars all day.

I recently had the absolute pleasure of hosting my 40th birthday party at Cork & Bean. From the first time I walked in the cafe I knew that it would be the perfect venue to host my event; and with the assistance of owners Diana and Lorn, planning the event was a delight. The vibe at Cork & Bean is sophisticated, but not stuffy. The artwork on the walls, coupled with the exposed brick and stone add a touch of rustic to it's elegant atmosphere. It is a true gem in downtown Oshawa. The baristas Amy and Kassie were simply wonderful. They were funny and friendly and can make a mean latte to boot! Amy and Kassie prepared marvelous boards of meats, cheeses, figs and various breads and spreads alongside boards of butter tarts that are simply to die for on each of the bistro's 3 floors for my guests to enjoy. Kassie gave me a crash course in sabering champagne, which is an amazing option that Cork & Bean offers. To saber a bottle of sparking wine you are given a short sword and the bottle and you get to try to pop the top off the bottle with a swipe of the sword. (Not to toot my own horn, but I got it in one swipe!) It was a terrific way to add some pizzazz to an already delightful evening. I know that when it is time for my book launch, Cork & Bean is where I will be throwing my event! I would highly recommend celebrating your next event, Big or Small at Cork & Bean. They will help make it an evening to remember!

phil h

I'm not into craft beer, so this is not for me. Up to $15 for a bottle of beer. No other choice for beer. Food is expensive for what you get. Decor is a bit scruffy too.

Marc Guay

I was in Oshawa for the weekend with my girlfriend, we had latte, the service was excellent and fast! Delicious coffee!

Shan Bee

Thank you! Such an awesome place, I love the sugar-free matcha that you guys take the time to whisk properly, the Kombucha, and the exciting selection of craft beers!

Ella Pk

The broccoli and cheese scone is a taste from heaven... so delicious when slightly warm. Also the coffee/espressos are quite good compared to coffee places in the area

Neil MacKellar

Dropped for a decent coffee and I got one! Do yourself a favour and visit this great local cafe ☕️????

Mark Kovacs

Friendly staff, great selection of craft beer, scotch whiskeys and excellent coffee. Atmosphere is very cosy and it's certainly a highlight of the Oshawa downtown.

Vanessa Prasad

Great place for a relaxing evening with a glass of wine, beer, tea or coffee. Great selection for each. Good desserts & sandwiches. Live music on the weekends.

Jason Legacy

First time in Oshawa and was looking for a good lunch spot. Very good sandwiches for lunch and some fresh baked desserts. The staff were very welcoming. Overall it was a great lunch stop.

Blake Inkster

The level of attention to quality and care in preparation has never faltered - been fairly regular here for months.

Georgie Bridle

Great Chardonnay on tap. Super nice staff. Also very very clean interior. Has a lovely seating area, would definitely come back!

Rainer B

Really impressed with this place! Amazing drink selection, magnificent teas. The location is great as well, and the interior is comfy and great to hang out with or meet up with friends

Sam Graham

Was downstairs for a reserved party earlier today. Great platters to nibble on, beautiful downstairs! The artwork is beautiful. The table is definitely the centrepiece of the room (bad picture but it’s beautiful). Had a nice time there and would love to return to try their regular menu.

Alex Klassen

Chill vibes, cool staff, best caramel macchiato.

kimcraigj

Had a great first experience at the Cork & Bean...best butter tart I have ever had. My cap was a little cool...but tasted great. The wife's cheese cake was also very tasty. Will definitely be returning. Update from first post...Went back in today..as promised ...Hanna remembered me and my one little issue...made us superb drinks... fully redeeming Cork & Bean and my original 5 stars. Still the best butter tart ever and darn good scones. Very nice brownie too. Thank You Hanna & James. ????????

Adwit Rahman

Came to Oshawa for a day and this place was an instant favourite. Good atmosphere with some good people. Add this to you list on your next trip to Oshawa.

Alan Thomas Jr.

Cool place, cozy environment, friendly staff. Good coffee, will be back to try the beer!

Adam Bessell (HT_Hustler*)

Ok so it was about 40 min to close when I showed on n a slower Night The cappuccino was delicious and the barista new her stuff!!! Casual and warm feeling

Jordan Rate

I enjoy the atmosphere. It is a claim and peaceful place. The design and art work hang on the walls gives it a unique look. It is the perfect place to gave a coffee and have a book to read or do a little homework or even meet a friend for a little chat.

Crystal Archer

The place is cozy, upstairs is comfy. By the window will be awesome in the summer - and they have a lot of different craft beer.

Patricia Revita

Great live music and tasty drinks.

Chelsey Cunningham

Love the atmosphere of cork and bean! The employees are wonderful and the food delicious. Such a great little addition to downtown Oshawa. Highly recommended

Siniša

Ok place, tasty coffee, lots to choose from. Not so good to sit and relax outside-only 2 tables. Interesting interior, staff very corteous!

Murray Marshall

Honestly, Oshawa needs more of these spots. The live music was outstanding! My friends have been telling me for a while that this place has a cool vibe and now having experienced it, I whole heartedly agree. ...will be back soon, especially if there's some live music.

A W

Response to owner's response: very nice cafe that we used to visit but the server asked me for private medical information

Nabeela Hamid

Amazing place! If you are a person who loves to do their work or do small meet ups, they have the ambience, music and gallery. They also give chance to artists by putting their art work on their walls. Simply sweet, sober and unique place. Must visit.

Amanda J

Love this spot! Great food and drinks & super friendly staff. The atmosphere is great!

Kristen O'Maley

This is a hip little joint with a great vibe. As a visitor to the town it drew me in. I would recommend this place, the food looked awesome and the place was chill. Just had a weird experience. I wanted my normal two shots over ice to take with me as I explored downtown. I was meet by very friendly folks that could not completely understand what I wanted to drink. They have a nitro cold brew that they were determined I wanted. They are very proud of their cold brew, as they should be, but it’s not what I wanted. I caved because it seemed easier. I was then handed a stay cup and clearly made a face. Anyway, I pounded the cup and left. Tried again today, stuck in this area and not willing to go to Timmy’s. Meet with equal confusion, but I didn’t back down. She asked again about the cold brew. No, pull a shot and put it in a cup of ice. That’s it. Easy. It was great and hit the spot. I’ve just never felt so out of control at a coffeehouse.

Graham Pegg

Absolutely love this place, awesome trendy atmosphere. Expect prices similar to starbucks, but the coffee has been much better than my usual Pike Place from Starbucks. They have kombucha available if that's your thing. My one complaint may be that their food menu is quite small, you can get by on a light lunch, but don't expect to leave full with out paying $30+ for a sandwich + soup + coffee. Overall though, this is my new coffee stop.

Exalted Rain

Tried their draught beer Didn't like it much Overall, a good place to just drink coffee

Jonathan White

When I go into the store I always get this overwhelming feeling of warmth when I walk in the door, and the and the atmosphere is great and it's also a very nice quiet restaurant or cafe. And you always get nice people serving you all the time it's a great place to go for a coffee and a relax leaving even sit a while they have lunch rooms good music and relaxation to go with your coffee I think they're great people downtown and this is coming from your sure Smoke Alot lol ok Peace.

Madeline Sialtsis

Been looking for a place in downtown Oshawa that makes a good iced latte and oh my god this is it!! So so smooth and none of that bitter burnt flavor The staff was very nice and the atmosphere is kind of hipster trendy cafe It's a bit expensive for Oshawa but I think the coffee is worth it

Bev

Cork & Bean is a quaint little coffee shop. I loved everything about it, but the live music was over bearing, much too loud for the size of the cafe. Food, drinks & ambience were delightful. A must place to visit while in Oshawa.

Celine Tallian

The food and coffee I had were excellent and they have a great selection of beer and wine! On 2 floors; you can be by the bar or by the windows on the main floor or have a more private seat on comfy couches on the second floor nearest the entertainment! Contact the cafe to know who's playing! I'll be visiting again soon!

James Meloche

Definately will return. Nice selection of beverages to choose from!

Chantelle Mitchell

Love this coffee shop, such a gem in Oshawa! Lovely interior, so warm and cozy with a loft feel, exposed brick and all. Great place to hang out for fun or even to bring your laptop and do work and such. They also have non dairy milk for plant based/lactose free beverages. Not really any vegan food options but good thing its a coffee shop so its not a big deal.

Martin Charette

Very nice place with good seating in different spots. Coffee and espresso are amazing. They get coffee from Phil and Sebastian in Calgary. The selection of scotches looked good but it was a bit too early to try some. Very good service.

SUZANNE Price

Hot chocolate wasn't hot. Dessert was mediocre. Over priced...lava cake, gluten free dessert and 2 hot chocolates was $30. Nice atmosphere.

Elson Yeung

One of the best spots in Oshawa, great people, great space, great beer selection (I think they are at over 100 right now) and GREAT coffee. The owners and staff do every part of their jobs with passion. It's not just about supporting local, it's about bringing quality local, Cork and Bean is doing just that

Andrea May

This place is a great cozy little place in downtown Oshawa. The food (soup and sandwiches) and beer were good, albeit maybe a little pricey. The atmosphere is great. Not terribly cramped, easy to spread out in nooks with couches and arm chairs. Staff were polite, and helpful.

Bailey Cassel

Servers are all very polite and social. Beautiful venue!

Chantal D. G.

HUGE liquor selection, cool staff, nifty desserts. Love music and events as well as liquor and wine tastings. Terrific atmosphere. Biggest downside is VERY expensive.

Kim Parker

I absolutely loved the ambiance! We had a great cost effective bottle of wine. Their charcuterie boards had lots of delicious, local choices.

Liz Henderson

I got a chili for lunch. It tasted nice and the service was quick. A bit pricy, though. The space is pretty and the staff were courteous. Interested in trying some coffee on my next visit.

Noelle V.H.

This is a lovely little Cafe! They support BLM and LGBTQIA+ which is important to me! What's better, it's local and the atmosphere is amazing! I went with my friend a week or so ago, and I'd definitely go back! Only thing that could improve is the food selection. They couod use a few more options. Otherwise, great!

Todd MacKay

Nice little gem where you can have a warm cuppa coffee and a snack and get a little work done. Would like to go back and try some of the drinks they have available with the live entertainment in the evening.

Danica Deaust

What a great spot! Ambiance is funky and cool. Coffee is really delicious. Will definitely return, check it out! Customer service was outstanding!

Raven Star Wallace

Had the amazing opportunity to visit this beautiful place last week and I am so impressed! An amazing down town - esque vibe with love staff. The scones are too die for and their lattes are to die for. I promise you this photo doesn't do justice, go visit and find out for yourself!!

Kathryn McGill

Very funky little place with a great selection of beers. Its certainly nice to see great places like this popping up in downtown Oshawa! I tried the red wine that they had on tap and was pleasantly surprised that it was really good. I found the wines to be a bit overpriced, but otherwise the experience was great. We also ordered a charcuterie and really enjoyed it. It was enough to be shared amongst a small group. Live music was starting up around 7 pm on a Saturday and would have liked to stay longer to enjoy it. I will definitely go back.

Rachel LaRocque

Good drinks, good food, nice location, and very friendly staff.

John Cooper

Great Coffee, Huge Craft Beer and Whiskey, selection, and live music. What more could you want? Staff are always friendly and helpful, and the decor is great and comfy. Small food selection.

Kimberly Vickers

Absolutely great spot. First time going, loved the decor/atmosphere, the staff was super friendly, real people and funny. I got a london fog, and I got excited over the crushed candy canes so the bartender added some to my tea and it was soooo good ????????❄️ Will be going back for a whiskey some day ☺️????

Rj Jake

great Atmosphere, and open mic is always fun to join. the drinks here are also pretty good

Micko Tines

Delicious Flat White made to perfection. Thanks James ????????

Deanne Aby

A cosy cafe in downtown Oshawa with lovely baristas and warm ambience. I was there during one of the open mic Sundays and can say it's definitely worth a visit. Cork & Bean will not let you down.

Frank Thickett

A great little cafe, lots of seating space, and friendly staff that are helpful and informative. Not the cheapest place, seems about on par with a Starbucks or a Second Cup, but Cork and Bean has a nicer environment to sit in and they also serve alcohol. This is easily my new favourite cafe.

Jaden Grand

It was a rainy day and my husband, mom and I were looking for a place to warm up with a hot coffee and latte. The only problem was that we had our newborn in his stroller and our dog with us. The gentleman working behind the bar (unfortunately I didn't get his name) welcomed us in and opened the sliding doors for us so that we had more room for the stroller and this way we could be close to our dog who was tied up on the outside. We are from out of town so it meant so much to us to be able to enjoy a visit with my mom over a great cappuccino and matcha latte! Thank you so much for the amazing hospitality and for accommodating our entourage ???? We will certainly be back when we're back in town and will be encouraging our friends and family in town to check you out!

riley downs

My boyfriend lived around the corner from here for a year and we would come to the cork and bean at least once a week. They have such a welcoming and cozy atmosphere- its easy to hang out here for hours. The staff here are amazing and attentive- Barista/ Bartender Cullen is delightful and always made us feel appreciated. The drink menu is great, I love that they’re always switching up the draught options, and I haven’t had much of their baked goods, but what I have tried is all delicious. I seriously recommend grabbing a drink here if you’re in the area!

Brittany McDougall

Best hot chocolate I have ever had in my existence. Staff is sweet, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy; especially on a rainy day. The live music is good, and they have a cute selection of little pastries. I would make this cafe a daily for me if I lived in the Oshawa area.

Terri Faulkner

Great vibe and entertainment...expensive wine, great selection of craft beers, friendly staff. Close to the GO station ????????✌️

Jermaine Wall

Fantastic environment, staff, and coffee. They also host many other cool events that you can't get in most areas of Durham Region, much less Oshawa. A really cool spot if you're pasing through town or if you're a regular.

MrAlisterH

I originally gave this place 5 stars last year because it was a great place. I've noticed a steady decline in the last few months. I tend to go when I have quiet time, I love the atmosphere and it is a great location however the last few times that I've been in there's always been only one girl working and there's been a wait to get my drinks and they've been unable to serve me the boards that are advertised in their menus. The girls are always extremely apologetic and seem to genuinely care that I can't get what I want but why even have something in a menu when you can't serve it, especially when the meat and cheese board is one of the most expensive items on the menu?

Sarah Reid

Excellent coffee and a laid back atmosphere with great music! Can't wait to go back

Bria Mitchell

Great atmosphere, stellar coffee, awesome people behind the counter! They host live music and sell local art... What's not to love !

Nikolas Gutierrez Casallas

Nice atmosphere, good coffee

Barbara Joan Johnson

The community of Oshawa is so lucky to have a place as beautiful as Cork and Bean. They created the most incredible teak table downstairs, almost a landscape in itself... A river cuts through the middle, hidden treasures within... Lorne, Diana, Amy are quality as is their food and beverages. Amy is a great benefit to the joint, making my day many times, she recommends the right stuff at the right time, truly going the extra mile. The aesthetics of the place are gorgeous and they are utmost supportive of local artists, poets, and musicians. With all the class, the manage to be unpretentious as well-having weekly specials where coffee, scones, sandwiches and soups are $1. A great place to study, grab an amazing butter tart, socialize, relax, or perk up. Haha Keep up the good work. Thanks and God bless. Brad and Barb

Lynda O'Donovan

Lovely cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff, great hot chocolate (and the have coconut milk!!!) The menu looks amazing.. cant wait to try more.

Mark Kalbfleisch

Great new spot in oshawa. If all places can be like this great coffee and special drink place in oshawa the downtown has a great future. Nice owner great service good light menu. 5 star.

Katrina Jennifer Bedford

This is my go-to coffee bar for meetings downtown Oshawa. The staff is friendly and the coffee is good. You can expect to see displays of local artists and enjoy live music on occasion. Love the location! Thanks, Cork and Bean!

Jessi Hoey

Coming from Calgary where there are so many gorgeous cafes, Cork & Bean stands out among the boring franchises that plague the Durham region. They make great coffee and have milk alternatives, which they know how to handle. Most milk alternatives burn easily and many places dont have a clue how to handle them. (I'm very particular w my coffee). Amazing place - so glad I found it!

Kelly Bray

We celebrated my friend's birthday Saturday night. It was a great evening We shared a bottle of wine and a cheese plate. The live music was nice We will definitely return.

Maria Greicer

Great coffee, cute place

David Heffernan

Extremely good coffee friendly staff and great atmosphere best coffee in oshawa

Tiffani Brown

Real food & tasty too at a great price in a beautiful place...seriously! Their scones are a "must try" ; real huge blueberries! Their soups and sandwiches are soo good! Their staff is absolutely adorable. Very welcoming.

Gabriela

Great place to sit and enjoy a coffee. One of the better if not best coffee shops in Oshawa. Ordered a dirty chai, was a bit to sweet but overall made well. Barista was really friendly.

Todd McCullough

New to me, but it's been here for two years? A confident cafe that is fully licensed? Anyone who lives in the area should make this their haunt. I would.

Ashley Tsoi

Cork & Bean has lovely tea selection. We were wandering around this city for the first time, and stumbled upon this gem. The barista invited us to participate in their poetry event. As we sipped our tea, we listened to many poetic masterpieces. "Open mic - poetry" is a space where you can share, and listen. Cork & Bean is truely amazing for inviting the community to bond by setting up different social events. - there are many other events available.

Brianna Munday

Phenomenal service, fantastic groups and organizations hold regular - open meetings here. Very artistic in nature, super healthy and delicious food.. Too many crafts beers to name.. And the best coffee in town. I am always pleased to be here, the atmosphere is inspirational to my senses.

Christine

This is SUCH a gem! So excited to have a place like this in downtown Oshawa. It’s probably the most eclectic cafe in the area. They have Kombucha on tap, local beers and amazing coffee. The interior is lovely and so are the owners. I can’t speak for their food but they have a small menu and a charcuterie board. Definitely will be back!

Cole Campbell

The staff are always friendly and in good humor. Great selection of coffee and treats. The only place in Oshawa for a great cup of coffee.

Paige Tsigaridas

Absolutely love the vibe here! This is such a perfect place for students to come and hang out. They also book some pretty cool events here at your request! Also the food is AMAZING!!!

Amanda Wilkins

Lovely spot in the heart of downtown Oshawa. They have tons of craft beer choices and on the weekends love music. Got to watch someone saber a champagne bottle which was pretty cool too. They have a downstairs area that can be rented out for smaller events.

Liane Whittaker

This place is awesome. If you are lucky enough Connor will be the one taking your order. He is hilarious. Wine and beer on tap as well!

Mercy J

Good service very friendly. Loud on live music nights but a very interesting place to have a coffee or a drink.

Emma Linton

Very friendly and assistive staff. Atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Live music from street bands that you are able to socialize with and support! Best of all they have a build your own Ceaser option with toppings you probably wouldnt think of.

Brandon Summers

Really great atmosphere, friendly staff, wide selections of coffees and snacks, as well as sandwiches. The best place to hangout! Thankful for this amazing live music venue! This is the place to hangout. So cozy! Would come again!

Tracey Ryan

Amazing little restaurant! Beautifully decorated, amazing food and artfully served coffees, teas ,and alcohol! Can hardly wait till summer...thecwindiws open for a European feel!

Sarah Seymour

Cork & Bean never fails to to impress. My go-to is their Manchester Fog with soy milk and a Cuban sandwich without the cheese. The staff are always friendly and chatting with customers, but it doesn't impede the service.

David Dinan

Great craft beer selection, great coffee

Alyssa G

The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food and drinks were fresh and delicious. The live music was superb. I highly recommend this spot.

Liam Mac Cobb

Great selection of coffee, craft beer whiskies and juices. This was my first visit on early evening Friday, quiet. We had the charcuterie board which was excellent with house red wine, cider, seltzer and ginger beer, all good.

Greg Swynar

This is an incredible, welcoming and comfortable space to stop in for a quick or not-so-quick coffee, drink or bite to eat. Much attention to detail has been paid to the interior design and use of the building's natural, exposed beauty. I look forward to spending more time here and attending some of of the events when life slows down. The restroom faucets are enjoyable to use.

David Gibson

First time here. Meeting with lifelong school friends. Good food, good fun. Staff was attentive and helpful. Found a new spot for reunions.

Melanie Shaban

I went once a week ago, after hearing delightful reviews from friends of mine, and was definitely impressed. As soon as I walked into the establishment I was warmly (and genuinely) greeted by the staff and the smells and visuals of tasty food & coffee. It literally offers whatever you could want. I tried the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo and did not stop saying out loud how awesome it was. I am heading in again with my Mom & Sister to try more food & coffee. love the environment, the staff, the food and the space it is in.

John Crown

I am so extremely disappointed by the service tonight at cork & bean. Have been there a few times before and the service and atmosphere was impeccable, unfortunately I am sad to say the employee Leanne ruined everything for us and we will no longer be returning after being in contact with her. There was a reservation half an hour after we had showed up and even though the number of customers in the store was under capacity she would not allow us to sit for the half an hour even though people were also leaving. Instead of offering any help of insight on what to do (like come back for a certain time) She was extremely rude and attacked me for asking questions. I am actually appalled at the situation and service that was given today and I really hope something changes in the future so other customers do not have to go through what we did today. I honestly don’t have words for how we feel after today’s interaction and I am absolutely shocked that something like that would ever happen at what seemed to be such a nice establishment. Extremely extremely dissaponted and offended.

A Bc

We went here today for some food and drinks. It was our second time visiting (first time was last week). The atmosphere is great, very laid back and clean. The owners were also there, and made sure to chat with us and ask us how we were doing. Very polite and nice people. The food (a sun-dried tomato scone, vegetable sandwiches, and a butter tart) was all really tasty and fresh. They may not have a lot of variety in terms of food selection, but what they do have is delicious. The scone was rich and buttery, and the texture and flavour was on point. The sandwiches were filling and memorable. The butter tart had just the right amount of filling to pastry ratio (not too much, and not too little), and wasn't crazy sweet- really great! Also, as a vegetarian, I was still able to eat here without issue, which I obviously like. As for the coffee, it was sublime- truly the best coffee I've had in a while. They currently have a pumpkin spice cappuccino and latte feature, and while I'm not usually a fan of that stuff (I've had it at Starbucks and didn't like it), here it is wonderful. It's not too sweet, and the coffee is nice and strong, and the spice flavour is there but not overpowering. As for beer, I had a High Grass saison (Second Wedge Brewery), as well as an amber beer (Fox Red?) from Williams Brewing. Both very good. The selection of small batch beers is terrific. We will be back for sure.

Nicole S

Hosted a goodbye party here for a girlfriend. They were very accommodating, friendly and offered wonderful services. The owners were around and chatted with us. They allowed us to 'sabre' a bottle of champagne. They offer a huge selection of craft beers. The charcuterie and cheese boards were lovely. A few of us have already been back to visit since. I'm already returning yet again with girlfriend for the wine tasting event next week. I definitely recommend visiting Cork & Bean. It's cozy, friendly and overall has a great vibe and selection! Oshawa has been in need of a spot like this for a long time.

We're from Toronto, but we keep coming back because the coffee is that good! Not to mention the staff are some of nicest people you'll meet!

Derek Boucher

Great atmosphere. Lots of great hot beverage options and one of the most impressive/extensive craft beer options in the area. The staff were all really knowledgeable on the beer.

As always. This is just the best place in Durham. Great music, service and coffee!

Kimberley Jastrau

Great iced coffee and service! Cute little place, love the decor. Got some little branded cups as we are visiting from Alberta

Ryan Reeson

I loved the decor.. And the feel of the place. Great use of space to provide seating at 3 elevations. Open windows to Simcoe Street is a nice touch. The traffic is not. THAT loud seated at the back and almost quiet if seated downstairs. Good selection of anything you want to drink. I did NOT try the "best coffee" but I will be back to savour the expresso. WiFi excellent!

Why can't every bar stock 50+ beer varieties? Flying Monkeys, GLB, Chronicle... Great selection.

Unfortunately my first and last experience at cork and bean was very disappointing. Upon entering we were super excited about the atmosphere and extensive drink list. I had just gotten my wisdom teeth removed so we ordered the creamed corn soup and the cheese board w as much soft bread as possible. My boyfriend was happy with his craft beer which was on special. When we first ordered the cheese board we were told by the counter staff that she was alone so unless the owner could make it we couldn’t have it... the owner was sitting upstairs but in view and she asked him from where she was and his answer was I’ll keep an eye on things upstairs while you go down and make it.... This to me is very unprofessional, we felt like we were inconveniencing them all together.. she gives us the soup and tells us to go sit and that she would bring us the cheese board. I’m a vegetarian and after trying the soup wasn’t sure whether it had a chicken or beef base so when she brought the cheese board I asked her if the soup was vegetarian/ if it had any beef or chicken stock in it. She replied that she didn’t know if the soup was vegetarian because they don’t actually make the soup themselves but that she would look on the label for me. And they were out of soft bread so the cheese and bread platter just had crackers on it. She came back and told us that because the soup container was empty she couldn’t guarantee it was vegetarian and the owner didn’t know either!!! She did bring me a soft roll which I appreciated. Over all the woman working was very nice and did try her best to be helpful but because of lack of training we were very disappointed and will not be returning. No one cooks there. The counter staff has to do everything... To add to this, 4 hours later we were both projectile vomiting!!! Coincidence I think not.

Best coffee house in downtown Oshawa! Good quality food, great coffee and service. Atmosphere is very inviting.

Torrey Betty

We were here for a business event. I loved the ambiance and history of the location. Once inside, you could mistaken it for downtown Toronto or downtown Oshawa. The bartender was chatty and knowledgeable. The waitress was diligent in her service and friendly to all.

Trev K

I have been a handful of times and the cafe mocha's are the best! The atmosphere of the place is nice and relaxing. The butter tarts are great too.

Kathleen

Great butter tarts, coffee and wine selection. After ordering 2 glasses of wine, we discovered it's cheaper to buy a bottle (and get more wine) then to buy by the glass.

Josh Coles

Cold brew was excellent as was the butter tart. Great service and atmosphere. Will return!

Best place for craft beer in Durham region outside of the breweries

Eric Anderson

my fav place in downtown Oshawa, for when I absolutely have to go downtown in the dirty Shwa. Amazing selection of craft drinks and good prices. Staff are helpful and super knowledgeable on what's available. Always a great art display on and you can often buy a work from the show. Live music is pretty good and they have several different seating areas as well as a basement room where you can see the old stone foundation walls and host private events in too.

Soroush Vahdati-Shams

Very nice and relaxing coffee shop. Very good coffee and very clean. Good coffee shop to come and relax in or study. Not sure if it was just the area I was sitting in but the only criticism I have is that I did not see any plugs to plug your phone or computer into. But that could have just been in the area I sat in.

AMAZING SERVICE Always friendly staff . The atmosphere is so rustic and comfy best coffee shop around . They even have sandwiches and smoothies for a quick lunch stop .

Jasmeet Mudhar

Really good coffee and friendly service! The shop has a cool and cozy rustic look with good music.

Jeff Murphy

A must if you're ever in oshawa. Best cup of coffee in town and great beer selection!!

Deang Goodell

Surprised cause it’s downtown Oshawa. Once you’re inside you easily forget where you were. Very nice relaxing place with great seating options. Beer options were extensive-huge selection of Canadian craft beers. Sounds like they have coffee and stuff too. I was just there for the beer. Whatever you’re drinking, it’s a good atmosphere and the staff is great!

Mo Alnatee

The staff are amazing and friendly. Their coffee and butter tart are outstanding. Pre-lockdown they had a good place to work, study and catch-up with your friends. They are as any other local businesses impacted by the pandemic, so please support them.

Angela Jones

Shocked to see that they didn't have drambuie considering all their scotch and whiskey options. Also if you go downstairs you have to walk backup to place an order? The servers cannot accommodate you? The charcuterie board was not impressive bread was stale a few hazelnuts and one almond thrown around. Less than quarter cut peices of figs . For the price I was not impressed. 5 grapes . Very skimpy board for 25 bucks. And one sauce , mustard... Also the staff cannot be bothered to actually leave the bar and speak to you they would rather shout answers to you. I doubt I will be back.

Chris Osuch

Service was very friendly. Calm atmosphere that's comfortable. Sandwiches and butter tart we got were exceptional and the cappuccino was very on point. Will be back and will tell people about :)

Sharon Lochan

I went for the first time here for lunch. I ordered the Cubano sandwich. It was fine. No options on the bread which when I looked at the menu online, was suggested. I also ordered a coffee & was surprised to learn that I had to pay again for a refill. I had a butter tart which was delicious. I'm very disappointed that the were no servers (self serve), no refills & not much choice. I'm sure it's great for drinkers, as there seem to be more beer choices than food choices, but not a great restaurant option in my opinion.

Pat Adam

Nice little downtown Oshawa spot. I would say it's a great place if you want to grab a cup of coffee and get some creative Ideas out. Good vibes here ????

Jamie Diederich

Their work speaks for itself, and their customer service is top-notch too.

Marco Porco

Thanks for having my lady and myself in for coffee. We'd been wanting to try your place for a while and we can say that you made our morning date, quite memorable. We will definitely be back!

Jennie Wong

Wonderful experience! The staff was friendly, the drinks delicious and the decor was unique! I'm glad to have stumbled across this gem of a coffee shop. I have found my local place to support :)

Mike Wilson

Great little spot. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere was awesome. My wife wanted the bread pudding with her hot chocolate and they warned us that it was fresh out of the oven and may take some time to put together. We were fine with waiting. It really only was a few minutes, which was fine because we were in no hurry. I was glad it was baked in house and fresh out of the oven. My butter tart and Macchiato were great. Definitely will return. I hope more people will give this place a try and support our downtown businesses!

Kay Silva

Walking on a bitterly cold day in downtown Oshawa I needed a good cup of coffee. I popped in to be greeted by a friendly barista with a wonderful Mancunian accent. I was served a great cup of coffee and a delicious date square. Once I'd warmed up I headed out to continue my travels.

Hans Kloosterman

good atmosphere, great snack food and drinks with excellent service!

Tara Upshaw

Great wine on tap and craft beer choices. Love the atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and inviting!

Alice Doumont

Such a great place for us students to unwind! I love how Cork and Bean brings more of a sophisticated and laid back culture to downtown Oshawa! Couldn't ask for a better place to drink coffee and study as well as have a nice glass of wine or craft beer with my friends after school!

Eugene Ross

Love the place, its design ,attrphere . The people that work there are friendly . The is coffee is good and its specialty coffee . They have wine and beer too. Step into something different give a try.

Sean Willoughby

Such a great rustic setting. The food is wonder and the staff add to the charm. Quite the place. The bread pudding is pure awesome.

JRobs

Been to both the Oshawa and Peterborough locations multiple times and always great. Lots of alternative milk options, beer, treats and love the atmosphere and overall concept. Fingers crossed a location in Whitby is in the cards!

Sophia C

My friend and I both agreed that Cork and bean had the best flat whites we had ever had. We had to get more coffees to go after we were finished. The ambience and seating was lovely.

Casey Kneller

Incredible gem in downtown Oshawa. amazing espresso, baked goods. Wine and craft beer list are impressive and the cheese and charcuterie board are amazing. Only fault was that we were accidentally charge twice for one of our beers. but that won't stop us from returning..

Dita Irawan

Their staff is absolutely friendly and so knowledgeable in the selections and menu items that they have. They are always willing to stop and chat with you to make sure you got everything that youre ordering. Have yet to try their alcoholic menu, but i cannot wait to!

Todd Bowles

I really don't want to tell people about this place because I love it so much, but it is one of my favorite places to go for a coffee or a glass of wine. Oh, and they have a great selection of Scotch, Wiskey and tequila.

Scott D

Go to spot before any generals game/concert and lunch! Wine on tap is amazing, yummy food and snacks. Live music on Thur-Sat and occasionally on Sunday. Highly recommended.

mc meneal

Hipster AF. Love it. I went for the wine, but they have a pretty extensive selection of craft beer, the food looked super tasty and the coffee looked pretty serious. You can always tell by the espresso machine. Prices are on par with this type of establishment.

Devon

I was looking for a wine bar type place in the area for a while and was definitely not disappointed. The serving staff were friendly and personable (especially Amy), and the wine selection was quite good. I wasn't really sure what I was looking for other than a dry red and was not disappointed by the recommendations. The charcuterie board we ordered was equally good and supposedly changes by the month which will help to keep things fresh. Definitely will return!

Samantha Persaud

I absolutely love Cork and Bean. They have a wonderful selection of wine, coffee, craft beer, whisky and tequila. It has a great atmosphere with live music. The owners are lovely people. I have brought a bunch of my friends here.

Arlene Lillie-Godby

Very dissatisfied with my lunch. Sandwich missing ingredients, soup portion is embarrassingly small, food lacks flavour. For $25 I expected more ☹️ Won't be returning. They offered me a coffee to compensate me when I called to inform of my disappointment. Seriously?
