Please listen to the reviewers saying they were overcharged or charged for items they did not want/ask for. We went here with friends just for some wine. The waitress asked what I would like, and I said I was looking for some Merlot. All she said is that they had some, and brought out a bottle When I got the bill, I saw that the bottle was $180. I understand that this was the price, however we would have appreciated a heads up on the price. I would understand bringing a $60 or $80 bottle of wine, but with a wine that expensive, the waitresses should be telling the customer the price or presenting/bringing alternative options.

A beautiful gem of a spot with exceptional wines, snacks, and service. First class bottles without any of the pretension. The owner Andy has some of the best button down shirts I’ve ever seen. Had me going bananas. The cheese plate was just as impressive. Go check them out! Now! Go!

A delightful surprise to come across The Wine Bar as we were passing through Bronte. From the moment we stopped in check it out everyone was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Devon asked our tastes then chose wines for us to taste and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and our choice. Though the seating is only on the patio now we admired the décor inside, very well done!! We are very much looking forward to going back for another evening to taste more wine and enjoy some delicious food. Highly recommend!!

Amazing service, friendly staff, it is nice to go to a place where they make you feel like you are at home, listen to what wines you are interested in, and make recommendations to try new wines that perhaps you may have never tried if you had gone somewhere else. Definitely a special spot!

Every single item I had was very hearty delicious and extraordinary. As a European, I find this experience to be very similar to back home; one-in-one contact with the owner. My husband and I were very pleased with Devon’s generous service and hospitality. Their wine is out of this world. It’s a perfect place to frequent if you are into gourmet tastes. I’d say better go when less busy and think of staying for at least couple of hours to have a full wine tasting experience.

What a fabulous addition to downtown Bronte ! Devon the owner has hit a home run, so friendly, knowledgeable and with a super selection of unusual wines we were there for almost 2 hours! Will definitely be our regular stomping ground from now on. Loved it!

I highly recommend the wine bar, I've already been a few times. They have the outdoor domes which is super cool and a must try... a perfect touch during Covid times. They are super friendly, clean, and the food is amazing and of course the wine you will love. Escape to the wine bar today!

Amazing wine selections and service. My wife and I came to the Wine bar for her birthday and had a fantastic time! The charcuterie board was great (especially recommend the burratta). We ended up buying a couple bottles based on the recommendations! We will definitely be back.

I went to the restaurant with my family. The customer service is really good, what I think is important, considering that many places here you eat and people stay by the side of your table asking if you have done. The place is cute, the owner takes care of the restaurant and she was attentive about the needs of my family. I gave 4 stars because they brought to my table a portion of the bread and olives that I didn’t order. But the overall was nice. I think is really important to support the local business, so I recommend this place If you just want to spend a good time drinking a good wine and having a conversation with a tasteful cheese.

After 30 min. of being in this bar, I was told that we need to leave because they do not have enough chairs!!! Drinks from the only menu they provided they didn't have actually. For the food we had to order without looking into any menu since there wasn't available. The owner just said I'll prepare something for you after which I ended up with $250 bill and no sorry for kicking us out. I wanted to provide something different to my daughter's birthday that day but at the end we were very sad and disappointed! I am not recommending this place neither will ever go there.

Alright Google, we need a 6-star option because this place deserves it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We left all the decision-making to the amazingly attentive staff and we were not disappointed! Simple dishes with complex flavours served with perfectly paired wines. Thank you Andrew and Devon for an outstanding evening. The Wine Bar was the best experience I have had at a local restaurant in the GTA. Devon and Andrew were amazing hosts and their passion for their business is infused in every element of the experience. The food was fantastic, the wine was amazing and the level of service and care was impeccable. I will be back and I highly recommend you give them a try. Shout out to Robert - because the ceviche was top notch!

Waitresses don't wear masks and neither do kitchen staff. There's 1 waitress that wears her mask and she pulls it down to talk. Prices went up significantly since a few months ago. Tried to order 2 different bottles of wine and they didn't have either - brought out a tester for a bottle in a similar price range. Looked on the menu after ordering it (trusted the waitress that it was similar price range) and it was double the price (bottle we wanted was $39, bottle she sold us was $84) - seemed dishonest to me. Also, I spoke with Devon via email twice and on the phone twice regarding our reservation. When we showed up, they couldn't find our reservation. Overall: the food is good but overpriced, service sucks, and don't feel COVID safe when there. Ended up leaving and going to Bronte Boathouse.

We arrived at the Wine Bar very excited in anticipation of a beautiful evening when in reality we were beyond disappointed. Upon arrival we loved the look and the feel of Bronte and the Wine Bar it self. However, things turned sour quickly. After being seated it took nearly 40 minutes for a server to come to the table. Finally and frantically we tried to order while we had someone’s attention. Since we were a group we tried ordering two separate wines off the menu with little luck as they didn’t seem to have them? So we settled on a wine we didn’t much prefer and was mediocre at best. The food was mediocre and when walking in from the patio to use the restroom one of our friends said that there were flies everywhere and dirty dishes all over the restaurant. Afterwards a woman came to our table with a little Pomeranian dog …. At first we interacted and tried to be nice and polite, even though it seemed like she was completely hammered. She continued to come back to the table and bother us….We thought she worked at the wine bar since she was clearing tables. We did our best to be polite only later to find out she didn’t work there at all! and was actually a friend of the owners. She was obnoxious, rude and couldn’t take the hint we didn’t appreciate her company at the table. Furthermore we didn’t want her dog at our table while we were eating. The decor, the live music and the charm of Bronte didn’t make up for the overall horrible experience we had. However it did make for a good laugh in the end not knowing who the crazy dog lady was going from table to table harassing customers. We love the little town charm Bronte has to offer but we are sorry to say we will not be back to the wine bar anytime in the near future.

Absolutely terrible. My family and i just recently went to this “establishment”, if you can call it that. There was maybe 2 other tables there along with us and the service was TERRIBLE! No excuse for all of our dirty dishes being on the table. If you want to pay 20$ for a slab of cheese and some pistacios this is the place for you! They need to stick to one menu so they can work on their overpriced plates of nothing. When my step father even expressed his issues to the manager all they were focused on was placing the blame on someone as opposed to apologizing for their god awful service and food. Yet they still force the 15% gratuity even if they did an awful job. Dont waste your time coming here unless you crave being disappointed

I came on here to write a review after the experience my husband and I had this evening. We almost never leave reviews unless we feel very strongly about our experience and now that I’ve read some of the other reviews on here I’m not surprised about our experience. This place looked really lovely initially, there is a great patio and nice selection of wine and cheese plates. I have a feeling we must have tried this place on the worst possible day because we are not easily upset and almost never complain. When we first walked up to the wine bar, the patio was packed with far more people than there should be according to covid restrictions. The tables are jammed close together with 8+ people dining at some tables (current restrictions set 4 as the limit). We quickly brushed this off because we've both been fully vaccinated and we were excited to be out of the house. As the reservation continued, we noticed that a majority of the people on the patio appeared to know one another. Though a bit odd, we thought it must have been some guests planning a large outing together. As we overheard our waiter speaking to other guests, we found out it was her boyfriends birthday party that all staff were participating in. Though we felt this was still a bit odd, we continued on. She quickly brought us our bottle of wine and poured us both a glass. We also ordered a cheese plate. After this initial interaction we didn't see her for well over an hour. During this time, the birthday party guests were frequently travelling in and out of the wine bar bringing their dirty plates (trying to help staff we gather), but were 100% unmasked while doing so. One of the guests appeared very intoxicated and was kicking the front door to get someone to open it and then nearly dropped all of the plates she was carrying. We had almost finished our entire bottle of wine by the time we caught our servers attention again to remind her that we never got our cheese plate. She apologized and another 20 minutes later we got our cheese plate, but it was still missing crostini/ anything to put the cheese on. We had to wait another 20 minutes to catch her attention again and she apologized again and went to get us crostini. In between all of this, it was quite obvious that all of the staff were carrying drinks in and out of the wine bar to enjoy with the rest of the birthday party and would often stay and hangout with their friends and family to chat while the three other tables were waiting long periods of time for their food/drinks. It was really just all around a very disappointing, frustrating, and unprofessional experience. I sincerely hope in the future they consider closing the doors when hosting events that staff are directly involved in. It was obvious that staff were intoxicated/ consuming alcohol and too preoccupied with the party to focus on serving the public.

Absolutely phenomenal! I cannot say enough great things about the wine selection, the food, the staff, the vibes or the experience! My wife and I now frequent The Wine Bar as our go to spot for a night out. She explores different wines with the owners - a great mix as one is a sommelier, and the other a wine maker. Dishes are simple yet delicious, and always changing, making each night unique. I also now purchase various bottles for gifts & events that I cannot find anywhere else.

Nice presentation and a good place to go if you really have nothing better to do with your money. Are any of the reviews here real? Has anyone even been to Europe as they comparisons to it Review seems to have happened before this place even opened. How? You will be overcharged Items are overpriced But you won’t notice because it’s like an art to sneak it by customers it seems Read reviews about the owner being kind of shady with overcharging or bringing out items not asked for and then charging for it. I did make note and took a closer look at the bill. The price on the bill didn’t match pricing. Also, some extra items (not clear what it was) made their way on which I didn’t bother asking about. We were overcharged on our bill. I didn’t say anything. Given that it’s covid, I figured that they must really need the money to do something like that. It would have been more ethical to pad the already padded prices. It’s all good. Best of luck to them because I will not be recommending this place and will also not be returning

Been here twice and loved it! The food is delicious, with the menu evolving based on season. There was a live guitar player both times I went. Large array of wine. But by far the best part of the experience is the service. Andrew is outstanding. He has a deep knowledge and enthusiasm for wine. I’ve learned a lot from him and enjoyed the wines more. Will definitely be back for the exclusive Chardonnay.

I highly recommend this place! The staff are so friendly and accommodating not to mention knowledgeable. We have been here twice and both times the wine was amazing. They even turned the heater on just to accommodate us in the patio.

This place is truly a labour of love! The menu is carefully created, the food is made so delicately with all the right touches and the wines are out of this world and none can be found at Lcbo! Our server was fantastic and she introduced each wine to us and told us all about it. We had a great Sunday evening. The quail egg with duck confit was truly divine and we also had a platter. I'm not one to usually write reviews but we recently celebrated my birthday at The Wine Bar and we loved it! It is a cozy yet classy place, with a nice vibe even during COVID times. The food was excellent - we got the charcuterie platter which had a lovely mix of complimentary foods, highlighting local producers. And it was a perfect quantity for two people, unlike other charcuterie platters we have had in the past. The wine choices were also very well paired. But the best part was the customer service - Devon and Erin were so welcoming and made it a special birthday with a complimentary piece of freshly baked chocolate torte which was to DIE for! We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Loved it! We went for a date night on a chilly Saturday evening. They have live music playing outdoors thurs-Sunday! They have heat lamps so you can sit outdoors for now. Service is beyond excellent, warm and attentive. Wines were delicious, they even offer a ‘flight of wine’ which let’s you try 3 at a time. The problem is they’re all so delish and not your average lcbo selection that we had a tough time picking which ones to order! They have a simple charcuterie/small bites menu but complements the wines well and are so yummy! Loved the cheese recs by our server. They even offer private tastings for groups. We will be back!

This restaurant should not be kept a secret. As much as I would like to call it “my own” and not to let anyone know how special it is for fear it could be spoiled, that would entirely miss the point. If you are in a hurry and you need a quick bite, it can certainly address your need, if you just want to be seen with beautiful people sure, it is ideal. If you want some delicious wine and great food (burrata and sliders were my favourites, but some recent additions made me betray them) there is no better place to be. But if you can manage to slow the clock, close your eyes and imagine to be in Europe, you might get to the real magic of the wine bar. I have come here maybe half a dozen times and never failed to meet at least one most improbable and wonderful person, and never got home without thinking I had been in a Fellini movie or a dream. A loving atmosphere, the sense of family and community (yes sometimes a bit disfunctional with the crazy uncle or the inebriated auntie) we have almost lost in canada but that you can still find in Bronte as in most of Italy. And most of the credit goes to the owner and sommelier, Devon, and everyone helping her in keeping this dream alive. Grazie

Myself and 5 others dined at The Wine Bar last Friday evening at 6:30pm. We were quite honestly appalled by the service and experience (or lack thereof). Upon arrival for our “2 hour wine tasting experience”, we were told by the waitress that she had no education or knowledge about wine and that she could not give us any recommendations on the extensive wine list. She let us know that the sommelier was supposed to be there at 5pm but had not yet arrived (it was 6:45pm by then). We decided to order a bottle of Prosecco and a charcuterie board to start while we waited - and wait we did, as only one waitress was serving the entire evening’s crowd. After 45 minutes, we asked again if she had arrived and were told no, that we should probably just select something else to order ourselves. We could sense and overhear that the rest of the guests were experiencing the same issue - slow service and no recommendations on wine, which was extremely frustrating considering the cost of everything on the menu. We ended up leaving early and finding another restaurant to eat at instead.

Listen folks. If you are looking to be treated as a number go to another restaurant where you will be herded in, served quick, same old menu and leaving in an hour and feeling like you didn’t catch your breath. But if you are looking for an ever changing menu, based on the season (as they shop local) and it has a farm to table feel and you are treated like family, where it’s an experience and great vibes, then come here!! I have been here too many times to count. And I think it’s sad that they get 1* ratings from people that came in wanting to be treated like a “number” and not understanding how different The Wine Bar is and what makes them so special. Is it slower, yes. Is the menu different every season, yes. But it feels like I am dining at my family’s house. It feels warm, inviting and the vibe of the restaurant whether inside or out always feels like a connected community. I love that it is small and quaint. I love that you don’t feel rushed. I love that you don’t feel like you just finished your plate and the bill is there hinting for you to leave. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. I drive 30 min to just get here, always have my friends, family and meetings here, and couldn’t recommend it enough! Thank you Devon and The Wine Bar family for all you do to always make me and my guests feel so welcomed and always walking out with an amazing experience.
