REVIEWS OF Cliff and Gorge Vineyards IN Northwest Territories

Had such a wonderful experience here and would highly recommend a visit to this winery. I've visited many wineries over the years and Cliff and Gorge definitely has something magical to it. Plan enough time, bring walking shoes, a hat and sunscreen and take a stroll through the vineyard with breathtaking views and the smell of wild sage (and other plants) in the air. Their wines are pure and elegant and really showcase what wine can be coming from this area. Truly spectacular. I will be back.

Cliff and Gorge was such a beautiful and unique winery experience. We enjoyed a private tasting and walk around the property. Our host Eckhard was a huge highlight - he was kind, accommodating and great to chat to. All of the wines were delicious and very reasonably priced. A must see experience in Lilloet.

Fantastic! 100% worth the drive out there for this experience: Eckhard, thank you from all 4 of us for being a very gracious host and for your educational guided tasting. We loved sampling the wine while enjoying our picnic under the canopy of trees as well as the vineyard walk around the gorgeous property amid the breathtaking surroundings. Will totally recommend to others.

What a fantastic and authentic experience. The vineyards are beautiful, the wine is tasty and getting a chance to spend time with Eckhard and see the passion that has gong into creating Cliff and Gorge is a special experience. This is not a regular wine tour, it's an immersive experience with opportunities for wonderful hiking and unbelievable vistas.

We’ve been twice to Cliff and Gorge and both times have been exceptional experiences. For the summer of 2020, the owner Eckhard offered such a unique and individual wine tasting model where you purchase three bottles and have a picnic in a spectacular outdoor setting and have full range of the property which has an amazing walk along the gorge. Eckhard joins at the beginning to share information about the wines, the property and the clean, natural growing and winemaking techniques. The wines are honest, pure and delicious!

Visited the winery this afternoon with a few friends. Eckhard was extremely welcoming, friendly and a great host. The wine was very reasonably priced. We were given 3 bottle of wines and some goodies for 60 dollars. The owner stayed and chatted with us for a while, then we went for a walk around the property, enjoying the views. Not the usual winery experience, highly recommend!

(Translated) Delicious wine with stunning views of the Fraser River and the mountains. The experience is amazing and I highly recommend it. (Original) Vin délicieux avec une vue imprenable sur le fleuve Fraser et les montagnes. L'expérience est incroyable et je la recommande vivement.

Great off the beaten path place to visit. Worth the drive. Beautiful area and a nice marked walk through the vineyard over looking the Fraser River. Friendly owner.

In the middle of Texas Creek Ranch, this is truly an amazing pocket of the world. Take a picnic for your “Do-It-Yourself” Wine Tasting and get ready to relax and take in this spectacular place. Buy your 6-pack of half-bottles (complete with glasses and tasting order guide) at the winery and sip them under the trees. Proprietor Eckhard Zeidler is on hand to talk you through everything you’d like to know and for as long as you like! (be it about his wine, the area or what brought him here in the first place to plant vines). Some of the coolest labels ever. The Gorge Walk Loop on site is such a bonus and fantastic way to experience and understand the sense of place. My 2 hour visit flew by! Looking forward to going back. A great wine adventure!

We spent such a wonderful afternoon at the winery, enjoyed the wines with the picnic that we brought in. The property is beautiful and picturesque. There is a fun hike you can do around it. Highly recommend visiting this place.

What a unique and beautiful experience visiting this winery. The drive is scenic and stunning! So easy to spend hours here touring the vineyards, property and enjoying a picnic. And well the wine speaks for itself! Half bottles of wine for tasting is AMAZING! Thank you for the memorable experience.

We had a wonderful experience during the summer of 2020. We were camping in Lilloet and our host mentioned these guys were further down the road. We took their advice and drove up to it (it's a lovely drive). We had called earlier to book, and were greeted upon arrival. Their experience includes everything you need to try their wines and enjoy the atmosphere of their lovely property. We highly suggest taking a walk and enjoying the loop trails and views along the property as well. The wine was delicious and it was a great experience. Highly Recommend!

Cliff and Gorge is breathtaking! We had a wonderful afternoon here while passing through Lillooet. The self guided tasting boxes (genius covid pivot) are a great value item and in such a beautiful spot where you're encouraged to bring your own picnic to pair with their fabulous wines. I highly recommend the little drive down the scenic and winding road to visit this beautiful spot.

What an incredible find! We stumbled across Cliff and Gorge thanks to the people at Fort Berens. We were quite surprised driving into Lillooet, to find there was one winery in the area, let alone TWO! The people at Fort Berens told us about Cliff and Gorge and we were eager to check it out! We made an appointment with Eckhard (the owner) for a private that afternoon. Cliff and Gorge is located down a beautiful country road south of Lillooet that follows the river, turning to gravel for the last 9km or so. The property is absolutely stunning, with a fantastic little tasting area. Eckhard was waiting for us with his proud selection of wines. There is true passion everything done at Cliff and Gorge, and their wines are fantastic expression of that passion. We were delightfully surprised by the quality. The Pinot Noir was particularly excellent! Unique to Cliff and Gorge is a fantastic Marechal Foch, a grape that has truly found a home on the sun kissed slopes near Lillooet. Eckhard was a gracious host, regaling us with stories about the winery, its history, and the local terroir. Our visit to Cliff and Gorge was an unexpected highlight, and we’re extremely pleased to have stumbled upon this slice of heaven!

We had a great time walking around the beautiful wineyard and ranch and the products quality was way beyond our expectations. A big thanks to the owner.

My favourite winery experiences are those that feel like you've pulled up to someone's barn and then they surprise you by pouring a delicious glass of wine from their farm. Cliff and Gorge is no flashy big-time winery. It is local, thoughtful, delicious small batch wines cultivated in a rugged and beautiful part of the country. The whites and rose are perfume-y and I could sit all day under those big trees sipping and staring at the weather systems that roll along that beautiful mountain range. Worth the trek.

Do not skip over this experience. Incredible winery, beautiful views, awesome host. Off the beaten track and unlike the experience you'd find at wineries in the OK. Thanks again Eckhard...

I didn't think I would ever do a review of a place I didn't visit, but the experience of 'almost' getting to Cliff and Gorge vineyards was worth writing about! We had booked into a COVID-19 friendly tasting, but weren't able to physically make it to the vineyard on our touring bicycles due to the nasty road on the west side of the Fraser River, south of Cliff and Gorge. Seven flat tires and 2000M vert days meant slower going...so we never made our 3:00PM. However, our buddy on his motorcycle was able to visit the vineyard, pick up our wine, and carry it back to us at our camp south of the vineyard. Owner/Operator Eckhard was extremely accommodating, and even threw in an extra bottle of red as we weren't able to experience the full tasting. The wines were superb and were just what we needed after 6 hours on our fully loaded touring bikes - the rosé was fantastic. Many thanks for the hospitality extended to us, the offer to pick us up with our bikes, and the flexibility demonstrated by Eckhard and his family; we'll be soon to 'visit' again soon. Thanks to Eckhard for the photo of the tasting table at C&G, just 20KM south of Lillooet - other photos are of the area surrounding Texas Creek.
