Fantastic local beer, super tasty food - very close to the Lakeside - makes for an awesome spot to grab a few drinks before enjoying the afternoon! Will absolutely be back!

Second time in; first time for lunch. Was super disappointed by my cheese steak for $15 as it was on a small ghetto sized hot dog bun and minimal steak (more roast beef like) Had to prepay and tipped the waitress which I regret as she did not even bring me my food and had to order at the bar and ask for cutlery. Just not up to standards of a brewery. Left hungry and unsatisfied. Waitress could have made a bigger effort to resolve. Wont be returning for food.

The beer you find hear is as good or better then the best breweries. One of the few places that serves a legal Canadian pint (20 ozs), not the illegal 16oz pints you get in most places. Service can be variable from good and friendly to outright bad. I like the handheld meat pies. The hamburgers can be good as well. The food isn't cheap and can be inconsistent. The location can be challenging for parking. There's a small outdoor patio. (larger now due to covid). They get four stars because the beer is excellent!

The best Nelson brewery. Always a fine selection of delightful hand crafted brews. Frequenting this establishment has enabled me to try some flavors I would never have encountered otherwise. Great food and great staff to top off this wharehouse style brew pub experience.

Stopped in for a pint with my girlfriend.... ended up staying for 3 and chatting with the owner, some locals, and a rad fellow from the UK. We will definitely be back to fill a growler or two before we leave town......also the beer is top notch, definitely check out the beer.

A bit of an odd location but their beer absolutely makes up for it. Top list contenders were the Hazy IPA and the Rhubar-barian. Even had excellent non alcoholic options for your DD or kids.

I love this place. The beer selection covers it all. They are creative and delicious. I went there last night and experienced their food menu for the first time and was very impressed. They take simple ideas like mac and cheese or hot dogs but give them a creative and extremely delicious twist. I had the chicken salad sandwich and now my mouth waters thinking about it. The soft pretzels with their house made stout cheese sauce is a must! Then there is their staff, they are absolutely lovely and make the atmosphere perfect. Thanks guys, I can't wait to come back!

Nice open space, friendly environment, ok beer. It’s unfortunate that the night I visited there was a birthday party and a improvised karaoke for the birthday person. Very unfortunate that the party (and specially the staff in place) were not considerate with everyone else there as the music was extremely loud. Just finished my drink as soon as i could to find somewhere else to go!

My favourite craft brewery in the Kootenay. Beer is the best and staff is professional and accomodating. Food service was slow though. I waited over 1/2 an hour for an appy of wings in the middle of the afternoon. A guy could get thirsty waiting.

I haven't tried the food. I have been going to this brewery every time I visit Nelson, even before they switched location. There can be a bit of a wait for a full because there is only one person working the taps. I have always found a beer I wanted to take home, and some other imaginative ideas that don't always work for me. Maybe one day I'll stop for a bit and have something to eat.

The service at the torchlight is outstanding!! The girls are always smiling and have outstanding personalities. The food has always been good and I would highly recommend the tater tot poutine. The best part is it's a kid friendly environment and that includes the furry kids ( the pups). They serve non-alcoholic drinks and you can tie your pup up just outside of the patio and they always have water for them.

The lead server was one of the worst I have ever seen. Focused on one customer only. The beer was average or below. The second on the customer service was Trying to fit in new position. Nice setting. Needs work on better environment for all customers.

Open space brewery with high ceilings and AC. They display artwork from local artists, which I like. Came here on a Tuesday evening and it was fairly quiet. Had a flight ($8.75) and glass ($5). I liked the Rhubarbarian the most, but it doesn’t pack a punch like other fruity beers I’ve had in the area. The ISA was pretty good too. Cheesecake stout was sweet and milky. Not sure if I could have a full pint of that, but it was nice to taste. Would come back here to chill, especially on a hot day. Food looks like standard pub varieties. Didn’t eat anything, but would have something to share for next time.

The good news is, I can confidently declare this to be Nelson's third or fourth best brewery. The bad news is Nelson only has 3 or 4 breweries. Beers are ok, except Rhubarbarian, which is very good. Interior design is terrible. We didn't try the food, but I hope it's good.

Fun vibe and a great selection of beers, but they also have a cocktail menu for folks who aren't up for a craft brew. A few arcade games are there to help pass the time and they have some tasty bites. I quite liked the handpies they had there but keep in mind they're roughly the same size and shape of a pizza pocket - you might want a few if you're hungry!

Must have at least 10 different brews on Tap. Food is also good and they have live music. Staff is friendly and helpful when it comes to the different brew and food that is available. They even have a couple arcade games. WWF wrestling and shinobi! Great place to come and meet friends for a cold one. Good beer, not so much for food. The best I had was the beer, great variety. Food was 50 - 50... Keep it save, stick to the burgers; the taco salad is a o go, the tots salad is very good but I still wonder why is called a salad, this dish is a delicious pile of tots bathing in cheese sauce and little pieces of bacon. Staff is very friendly.

Great selection of beer. Restaurant and patio are open with social distancing in place. A small food menu provides burgers, hand pies, Mac and cheese, etc. The food is very tasty. Family friendly the drink menu also includes craft sodas. Worth a stop everytime!

Great beer and great service. Blonde beer was one of the best I've had. Cool atmosphere. We were there fairly early so we were the only ones there but I'm sure when people pack in it's a lot of fun. The Sweet mustard with the pretzels is to die for. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu and the beers.

(I hope I have the names right). Thanks for the great service, the great tips for other places to visit in Nelson and for making us feel like family on the first night of our motorcycle ride. Our group had so much fun! I wish we had more space to bring those yummy beers back home.

Im not even a beer fan, but the ones I had here were delicious! The cider was also amazing!. I love that they do have a small cocktail option as well, to allow the non beer drinkers to hang with there brewery fanatic friends. Also had the hand pies. OMG. Delicious.

We had to ask for the table to be wiped off. When we got our food the tator tots were hardly cooked, had to ask for them to be recooked.. they were brought back 1 minuet later still severely undercooked. The bacon was raw as well. Super disappointed in the service or lack there of as well as quality of food. The waitress at the bar was more concerned with colouring than paying attention to customers. Don't waste your time or money.

We’ve been on a road trip for a few weeks and always hit a local brewery in every stop. This is the best one we’ve come across in our three weeks of traveling. Bangin beers and a style for every taste. Some pretty interesting brews on tap, too. We even came back the next day to get their sour in bottles before we left Nelson. This place has ruined us for all other breweries.

Love the mac n cheese, hate the nachos. My first problem with the nachos was that when I asked what was on them the staff didnt seem to know, so when I got my nachos they were covered in sour cream and tomatoes, both of which I would've asked to not get. It was also a bit overpriced for the serving size. Also if you're feeling snacky the potato wedges are cheap and good.

Great local brewery. Chill atmosphere and staff with a good selection of brews. My favorite was the limited run-stone fruit pale ale. I'll have to make the trek back to Nelson next summer to score another jug. Prost!!

Torchlight brews great beer. The food on the other hand..damn. It’s a new menu (not much more inspiring than the previous) with a $14 hot dog and $45 nachos = a total lack of understanding for your community. 3:30 on Saturday for the kitchen to be out of most everything, including bread. This isn’t the first time it’s happened. I felt bad for the staff and our party of 10 locals moved on to drink and eat elsewhere. I get it, beer is your priority, but why bother with having a menu at all when it’s continously lackluster and unavailable. Bummed to be skunked again at your brewery.

I didn't know tater tot poutine was a thing in this city, but I do now. Served with delicious burgers to accompany their 20 beer/cider rotating taps. I had the sour du jour and it just made this overall brewery experience really enjoyable. Located a bit off the main drag, this craft brewery is worth a stop.
