You will be able to see all the opinions of real people like you who use the services of Port701 Marinaside Dining - Lounge (Winery) in Nelson territory (Canada).
To this day the firm gets a score of 3.7 stars out of 5 and that score has been calculated on 53 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is very positive, and it's founded on a high number of scores, so we may be pretty sure that the score is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are satisfied with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...

Tasty meal. Nice to get out dining again
Great service, menu options, drink selections, and a view that can't be beat.
Great food ad drinks, with one of the best patios in town, right on the lake!
Other than it being understaffed, it's a great place for food, they got a nice bar with indoor and lots of outdoor dining aswell
Had a great meal and drinks here. Awesome staff and reasonably priced.
My family and I won't be going back. The waitress we had was rude and snarky, and so at my discretion I gave her a low tip. She took it personally and complained to us in front of everyone who was sitting nearby. It was really outrageous, not to mention very tacky and rude. I should have complained to the manager right there and then, but I don't like to make a scene. Instead, I emailed my complaint to the owner. It's been a few days now and no response. I guess they just don't care. Sad. Update: The owner did reach out to me and apologized, and while I do appreciate the gesture and his willingness to make amends, it is likely I will not return.
I had the Halibut for takeout. It was excellent. A little pricey ($34) but I think Halibut is always expensive. After using a $10 off coupon from the hotel it was perfect.
Travelling to nelson for a birthday on the 17th. Stayed at the prestige hotel. Restaurant was open and no line up. The view was nice of the lake, staff was very kind and food was exceptional. Started with appetizer of red pepper spinach dip as well as honey hot chicken wings with ranch dip. Very tastey and worth ordering. Next ordered beef and reef. Steak was done to perfection and vegetables flavorful. Loved the prawns and delicious gravey and mash potatoes. A most memorable meal.
I want to give it 4 stars but it's not quite there. The view is amazing from the deck. The service was a little slow for being one of 5 small groups in the restaurant after the breakfast rush. The crepes are described as a hazelnut drizzle and it's closer to half a jar of nutella, also a little hard. I honestly make better crepes at home. I asked for over easy eggs and got poached. My wife described the chutney benny to have a raw mango flavour. I see this place having potential but it's not great yet.

My wife and I were disappointed with our Beef and Reef dinner ($35 each). We had to send our steaks back, due to them not being prepared per our order -- then, even though they were now cooked as we'd originally requested (medium), they were tough and mealy-tasting. The shrimp wasn't great either (a little tough). Also, the prices were outlandish for quality of food. Example: $46.50 for 3 glasses of wine. Positives: Waiter was OK. Vegetables were fine. Also the view is beautiful (although you can get the view for free from the park). Port 71: If you're going to charge Beverly Hills prices, you'd better make certain your food quality and preparation is stellar. For us at least, it fell short (at least with the steak). I really don't like leaving a negative review for a local business -- especially for a restaurant, during these difficult times. On the other hand, how can owners know their customers won't be coming back, unless we tell them (so they can take corrective action)?
Tried the marinated ahi tuna for starter as it is delicious and would also recommend their baileys cheesecake as a must-try!!
Service was not great. A little acknowledgment goes a long ways. We waited by the front to be seated with no acknowledgement for 3-4 minutes. When we were finally seated we waited another 10 minuet tea for someone to come over and offer us water. Another 10 minutes later and she realizes that she has forgotten to bring us the water. Brings it to our table and informs us that our server just got on shift. We waited another 10 minutes to place our orders. When the food came, he never came by to see how everything was. It wasn’t overly busy. I get that these are hard times, but like I said, acknowledging people’s existence actually really helps the situation. We felt invisible.
Great food and very nice dinning environment! Love coming here for brunch.
Great location, views, service and food!
Dinner
Lovely food. Lovely staff. GREAT DRINKS!!????
Really disappointed with the 2 meals we had from 701 in Prestige Lakeside. Staying in the hotel we ordered to go. First club sandwich looked great bust tasted horrible, black avocado and brushed tomatoes. Breakfast Bennie with toasted prosciutto with hashbrowns sounds great, absolutley horrible food horrible value.

Melanie is great
Went for dinner here over a week ago.... honestly still dreaming about going back. Appy was great entree (brisket ravioli) was great. Service wasn't up to par with the dinner. Wine list and beer list were only ok. Still very excited to go back.
Service
We passed through Nelson recently and we chose to give this place a try. We were so disappointment. We stood in line for almost 30 mins (with people already waiting in front of us and more accumulating behind us), but not a single staff member came to any of us to acknowledge that we were there. Not even to say hello, or to let us know if they were maybe short-staffed and running behind, or to get our name for a table...nothing. The staff walked by the line of people constantly but chose not to acknowledge any of our presence. We asked the hotel reception staff if the restaurant was maybe operating with a limited seating capacity for COVID safety reasons and the front desk employee went into the restaurant to ask about the delay...but we were STILL not given any answers and were still all ignored by the staff. The group behind us left (very unhappy), and we ultimately chose to leave as well. We were extremely disappointed as we wanted to enjoy a lunch on their patio. Acknowledging your customers waiting in a line to eat at your restaurant should be a priority for staff. Customer service with friendly communication goes a long way. 2 people made a comment as they exited the restaurant that the service was really bad and slow so that sealed the deal for us. Too bad, as the location is great and we were really looking forward to eating here.
Friends went there for breakfast. We waited at the door for at least 10 minutes. Wasnt acknowledged at all!!!! So we left. This isnt the first poor experience. Last week, a friend and I went and had dinner. The entree was great. We were ignored after our meal was served. It took us a half an hour for dessert. The ambience is great but after so many years of hit and miss, it's just sad
You're getting the view and the biggest patio around. The food is fair and the portions are suitable for a easy meal. Though the food won't surprise or amaze you, it will satisfy you and with being an add on to a resort, what more do you need or expect? I don't have anything horrible or spectacular to say about the service or food in general as both were average and thats okay. The view and patio are really why you go here.
Food is decent. Place is filthy. Feel bad for the waiting staff. Not enough help.
Great atmosphere, delicous food, and our server Nicole was top notch. We will definitely be back and the Sangria was so so good.

The food wasn’t bad at all. The service was terrible. Our waitress made us feel like we were inconveniencing her the entire time. Never felt so uncomfortable eating anywhere like I did here. Would be so scared to go back and find spit in my food.
Dinner special was delicious! Loved the djon mushroom sauce with grilled salmon
Nice staff, fab view, great food at reasonable prices
Just finished having breakfast here. The young lady serving us was extremely bad almost 2 hours to get out of there. Avoid this place unless you are okay with burning your morning due to poor service.
Food was terrible as was the service. Would not recommend!
Great food. Good service. Nice view.
The best view of any patio in Nelson. Service was prompt & beer was cold & tasty.
Breakfast
The patio by the water is awesome. The food is okay not great but not bad.
Delicious...great service and view
We went to go have breakfast, in an almost empty restarting. The front doors from the lobby were closed with no signs so we entered and waited patiently. From there we were informed by a less than enthusiastic staff that they were “understaffed” and it would be a 30 minute wait at the minimum, they also do not take reservations and it’s a first come first serve deal so they wouldn't even take our name to put on a list to wait (which we would have happily). We were excited to try this local place! But it seems they don’t want business.
Burger of the month is really good
Fantastic food and service.
Honestly I’m not sure what all the bad reviews are about.. all of the service we’ve had in the week staying here have been superb and the food has been delicious. I’m vegan and have some food allergies and they’ve been very accommodating.
This place doesnt even season their nice crispy fries, lots of potential to be had with everything cooked nicely, just no flavour
Club sandwich was good, lots of avocado in it. Burger was juicy and love the barbecue flavor.
Great food and great service!
Great applies and view! Service was superb. We showed up at 4pm and were told dinner menu wasn't avail until 5, but we had the cauliflower and spinach dip (made in house) and thoroughly enjoyed both. Drink menu is a hotel drink menu, so nothing super notably but likely something for everyone. Chocolate cake was HUGE and delicious.
We come here often. The service is always excellent. The food is outstanding. The atmosphere is perfect.
Service
I can't recommend this place enough. I have been about 4-5 times now, but the last two visits were top notch. Calamari was so yummy. Nice and small and crispy, plus the fried jalapeños in the dish gave it extra points :) I recommend the beef brisket ravioli, it's a 10/10 from me. Not sure I'll be ordering anything else as a main from now on. My Caesar and dirty martini were just perfect The red sangria is also the best I've ever had . Can't wait to come back!
Meal type
Great server.
Absolutely disgusting!!! The meal was barely edible and pricey. The veggies where thrown on the side uncooked and they tried to serve me something that was suppose to resemble tofu but was a gummy, horrific texture and the taste, omg, I had to gulp my wine down. My god who could mess up a simple meal of rice, veggies and tofu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh wait, you can!!!! zero thumbs up. A child could cook that better.
