Amazing food and service. Was there with a large 20+ group and they were amazing. We had 8 small children with ages ranging from 2 to 8 and they let them play and spin their own pizza dough. The staff there are top shelf and the food is delicious. Can't say enough.

Wow the service and food was excellent. Tasty food and a must try is their ceaser. They have their in-house recipe which is unique. Does not close between lunch and dinner which is convenient as we arrived in town after 2.30 pm and most decent places were closed.

The food was magnificent, the kitchen appeared to be in order, and the staff were classy & friendly, but the table service was unfortunately very slow. Perhaps this joint is understaffed for dinner time right now. I would definitely return though... The beet gnocchi, warm olives, and cannelloni were terrific!

Absolutely delicious food! Between us, our group had the pork tenderloin, quarter chicken, the sirloin steak, the fries, the fingerling potatoes, & the focaccia. It all was expertly cooked. Dishes are paired impeccably well; everything on the plate does well on it's own but is elevated when tried together. The atmosphere is gorgeous & welcoming. The staff was very friendly & attentive. We will most certainly be back to explore the rest of the menu! ????

NELSON resident, watched the workers coming and going, heard the buzz, got back in town a few days ago and took the wife... What a bummer. We were expecting a classy authentic Italian experience, but might as well have been in a cafeteria. The staff wore jeans and slouched about like part-timers, and kids crawled on the floor and stood on their seats. The salad was fine. The spaghetti and meatballs was underwhelming and served luke warm. The place was loud and the atmosphere was surprisingly flat, given the obvious investment. The tiles are nice and the pizza oven is a marvel, but the whole package is nothing special. No charm.

I loved the atmosphere here. Interior design was impressive and the seats comfortable. I ordered caprese salad and blueberry moctail. They weren't very good. Roasted almonds didn't go well with the salad and the tomatoes were not ripe. The pizza looked good. I would go again to try other menu.

The food was excellent and the portions were really large. I couldn't finish my Forno Chicken sandwich, although I wanted to. My partner had the burger and enjoyed it very much. Our server was very attentive. I would gladly go again.

Great place. Had my wife's birthday party there last night and was an amazing experience. I called in the afternoon to reserve a table and Mr. Zac was so helpful , he reserved the table , gave me options on the cake and the best thing was the clear information he provided over the phone for someone like me who has never even been to a Birthday party at a restaurant. When we arrived at 9 pm, the waiter was even more amazing. The food was great, wonderful ambience and excellent service..highly recommended

Authentic, Italian-style pizza with a thin, bubbly, and flavourful crust, and tasty, quality ingredients. (Don't expect one of those over-the-top, late night binge pizzas with the ranch dipping sauce. Please, no.) I also love the salads and pastas. One of the recent features was a pasta with short rib and gorgonzola butter. Outstanding! Will have to try one of the dinner entrées, next. The breakfast menu offers refreshing options. Marzano has an open and friendly atmosphere and is a great place to meet friends or for a casual date night.

It is good to have a tasty dish. Amazing to have two. Unbelievable to have all dishes shining like stars--and in their own rights. Mazarno has achieved the latter: each dish wowed us and the whole meal just seemed to get better and better. We have tried many excellent Italian restaurants in Vancouver, but this Nelson gem can easily put any of them in shame in all terms: ambience, service, design, ingredient, flavor, and presentation. Hats off to the talented chefs (and servers) at Mazarno. We can't wait to be back!

As a newer entry to Nelson hotel dining I am hopefull they pickup their morning service, menu variety and coffee quality. Where to begin, 2 stars is a gracious rating since the restaurant is new and so is the staffing. We received no greeting from the counter person. The waitress was 3to4 minutes to attend to bringing menus, which she delivered with a kind hello and left. 2to3 minutes passed before we had to flag the waitress for coffee. Coffee came without spoons but was nice to include dirty mugs and a flavorless liquid that should have been our coffee. With my wheat and nightshade sensitivities I had the option of salad, fruit salad, egg and bacon. At this point we were not sure the kitchen could deliver a satisfying meal, paid for our flavoured coffee and gave our explanations to our waitress before leaving. I hope to try this restaurant again but after the staffing becomes a little more seasoned. I wonder how the lunch and dinners service and meals will be.

Giving 4 stars only for the amazing squid dish with mouthwatering sauce. Otherwise would've been 3. I stayed at the hotel upstairs and therefore had a chance to eat at Marzano several times. Besides the squid I really liked the Caprese salad with fresh and juicy tomatoes. Breakfast pancakes were very good as well. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Mushroom pizza was burnt and bland with thick crust and all toppings sliding right off the dough. Egg breakfasts were quite plain and unflavored with eggs overcooked and potatoes undercooked. The decor is very modern and pleasant but the swivel chairs at the community table were horrible. May be they'd be ok at the bar to get a quicker customer rotation but bad idea at the dining table especially when you have to wait longer for your meals during peak hours. Would be also nice if they delivered food to hotel rooms upstairs even for an extra fee. Overall it is a nice place to hang around with friends for a few drinks and some appetizers.

Had dinner here while in Nelson in Aug 2021. Probably one of the best thin crust gourmet pizzas we've tasted. All of our pizzas were perfectly cooked with the right amount of sauce and toppings. We had the Prosciutto, Verdura and Chicken Al Forno. While all 3 were very good, the chicken was probably our favourite. You must also try the beef carpaccio as a starter, it was fantastic. They also had some nice craft cocktails and the Tiramisu Mousse was a delicious way to finish the meal.

I'll start by saying the service, was phenomenal, attentive and informative. I found the food however, lackluster. I ordered a basic classic breakfast, my potatoes were both overdone and undercooked, my ham tasted purely of vinegar, and the eggs to top it all off, were greasy and over salted. I'm not meaning to make this an attack at the restaurant, just my findings, I'm sure it was just an off day for the cooks.

If you can’t make red sauce how can you be an Italian restaurant? Pros-nice location and ambiance. Cons-a simple dish like spaghetti and meatballs should be amazing. Before you respond with a rude comment hear me out. It may be a dish that rarely gets ordered often, but if you promote meatballs as an appetizer and have it listed as an entree and you’re an Italian restaurant shouldn’t it be amazing? Like it’s a basic staple. Red sauce/gravy whatever you call it. To me it was just salty and lacked flavor. You’ve got a great location and probably do well because of the location, tourist choice, and people think it’s great because of it’s design. But make a better red sauce. Your pizza however was pretty good. Prosciutto was lovely.

Service was a sweet spot between knowledgeable but not pretentious, we loved it. The food was definitely something to write home about, if that was still a thing. And the drinks were delicious. Il postino cocktail is worth a mention. If warm olives as an appetizer isnt a level of measurement for a good restaurant, I don’t know what is.

Very nice atmosphere, clean and modern yet comfortable. Had lots of starters which were perfect for sharing between 4ppl. Wine list was good, could have used a recommendation given so many wines I haven't seen before. I googled our pick to make sure it would be to our liking, and it was. Meals were really good and portion size just right. Not sure about the charred broccoli or the risotto though, not the best.

This is THE PLACE to visit when you’re in Nelson. Some of the best pizza and caesars I’ve ever had. Gorgeous space and patio. Very friendly and attentive staff. Washrooms were elegant and clean. Had a Caesar with gin, which is highly recommended. It had a good spice to it and the tomato flavours really came out with the seasoning. It is the best Caesar I’ve had to date. Prosciutto pizza was fantastic. Damn that crust is so crisp and chewy. It holds its shape so well. Also tried the Burrata and Margarita, which were also phenomenal. Ate the pizzas too fast to take any photos. The carpaccio and meatball appetizers were so tasty. Definitely try the carpaccio. Will be back to try their breakfast. Really wish I had room for dessert.

Is this place reservation-only? This is a restaurant attached to a hotel, right? And they're affiliated to a point because if you decline room cleaning at the hotel you get a voucher for this restaurant. So I show up at the restaurant at 5:30 p.m. on a Tuesday in late October. I'm asked if I want to sit at the bar. I say no I don't want to sit at the bar. The hostess then tells me that every single table they have unused is reserved -- at 5:30 p.m. in Nelson in late October. Sorry what? You're the restaurant attached to a hotel and you have zero availability for hotel guests eat at your restaurant? I guess that voucher for not getting your room cleaned isn't worth much after all

Atmosphere/ambience is top notch. Beautifully designed restaraunt. Service staff present well, are attentive and well versed in the menu. The food, bellisimo! Had a fancy date night with my lovely lady at Marazano's. Typically I'm cheap as chips, but we went all out, racked up a sizable bill and have zero regrets. Every bite and sip was a distinct pleasure. That NY Striploin is amazing. Try the rissoto. Get a cocktail. This restaurant is taking all aspects seriously. Absolute pleasure.

I had a birthday breakfast with a friend this week. We "veganized" one of the breakfast dishes, substituting mushrooms for egg. Our waitress was informative regarding how the food is prepared. The food was delicious, the portion generous. We would definitely come again.

I gave this a 2 instead of 5 for dinner only because we were told that we had to vacate our table after having dinner and drinks as the table was reserved for another group. This was only after being seated for 90 minutes. A 90 minute turnover is unreasonable...if the table had a limited sitting time why weren't we told when we where seated. Food was very good .. In fact I gave the Pizza chef a tip because but was the best pizza ever.. then when I returned to my table I was told we had to leave..I guess the business is just to greedy trying to create table turnover @ 90 minutes. Make sure if you want a relaxing even with friends you ask for a table with a minimum 2.5 hour turnover. Updated based on breakfast experience. I gave this a one out of five for the following reasons. Not enough staff...only one waitress..had to politely ask for our first coffee...kitchen slow turning out food...took over an hour to complete breakfast... potatoes rosti soggy not crisp. Sometimes A&W would have been a better choice. Quicker and consistently good bacon and eggs breakfast.

Full house on a Friday night. Cool layout, with a bar, chef’s table around the pizza prep area and wood-burning pizza oven, long elevated table, and traditional seating. Creative menu, featuring several pastas, entree salads and numerous pizzas. Food is closer to what you’d find in Italy than the more conventional red-sauced dishes in most North American Italian restaurants. Certainly would give the restaurant an A for effort on the innovative menu (excepting the wine by the glass list, which is lacking in both inspiration and choice) and a B/B+ on the preparation and execution. My carpaccio was delicious (tender, flavorful meat, crispy homemade crostini) except for the tonno sauce, which had too much mustard and not enough tonno (tuna) - also seemed on the sweet side compared to others I’ve had. My ‘macaroni’ was decent, with plentiful and flavorful chicken, but I thought the pasta was cooked too al dente, that it was overwhelmed by the ‘pork’ (sausage?), and underwhelmed by its sauce; my poached egg was also cold for some reason, which escapes me in terms of how. Anyway, the pizzas looked good and I’d probably go for one of those the next time. Worth a try.

Really great night! The cooking techniques were perfect. The chicken had beautiful crispy medium brown skin and the meat was super moist. Also very good quality meat. The squid was also cooked just right. And the Dark chocolate cake finished the meal off right with really flavorful rose gelato. Our server Claire was very pleasant and added a nice touch to the meal. The only suggestion would be slightly more salt to bring out a little more flavor. However top notch and we wish you all the best.

Great ambience, beautiful room. Good friendly service. All of our meals were really good: my burger was juicy and flavourful, the soup of the day (tomato, black pepper, gin) was excellent and the spaghetti and meatballs were a hit. The salads were the only disappointment: not enough besides lettuce and not enough dressing. Skip the salads and you will have a great meal!

Lovely restaurant! Their desserts are so imaginative and unique. They actually have a pastry chef ????The Jasmine Milk Chocolate Dome is served on strawberry jam with whole pecans and flower blossoms. The Tiramisu is also well done and creative.

Great food. We ordered take away, but the restaurant was really spaced out nicely for COVID, so you could feel comfortable going there in person. My wife had the fried mushroom salad which was reported as 'awesome'. I had a side salad that was anything but. Great size and a lot of flavour. For me the oven fired pizza was the piece de resistance. It was perfectly done. Would highly recommend and we may even find ourself in their restaurant or on their patio.

We went there for lunch and asked for a high chair for our kid, instead they brought us kind of a booster seat which had no straps. That's a clear safety issue which they need to address. Food was ok not great and we paid $14 for just fries, unbelievable. I ordered soup and they brought me the wrong soup. In total, not a pleasant experience.

We left Vancouver 8:45 in the morning and arrived nelson @6pm without any food stopping. I was hungry and physically feeling dizzy when we walked into marzano. After we explained our long trip to the staff, she immediately sat us down in the hotel lobby and brought over water for us. Table got cleaned for us quickly. Our server Kate was nice and patient and helped our orders right away. As always, food in nelson never let us down, marzano was one of them. Salad, pizza, spaghetti and carpaccio we had were amazing. The whole decor and atmosphere was nice and modern here. If I had any complain, it could be the music. The beat was not a good match with a slow and enjoyable meal.

Food was over prized and not as tasty as I would have hoped. Service was quite okay, but the waiter did not know the finer points of his profession. Pulling plates away while the other person was still eating, pulling away appetizer plates so that the cutlery landed unceremoniously on the table, forgetting to order a side order and - after being reminded - bringing it when we were finished eating, and then still charging full prize for it. Nice atmosphere, but again, the food left much to be desired.

For the most part, the food was very good, and the decor was appealing. I did find the open atmosphere very noisy, and unfortunately the pizza's were slightly soggy in the middle. The tiramisu however, is one of the best things I've ever eaten and I would go back and have about five of them for dinner.

We had the most amazing time at this place. We had pizza, salad, soup, everything was very very good, but the real highlight is the way the server approached the kids orders: she proposed bringing them a ball of pizza dough to play with (a 50 cent investment really, absolutely brilliant!) and pushed their orders through the kitchen with priority, so they had play, food, more play while the adults ate with comfort and relax. We ended up being in no hurry since the kids were entertained so we ordered a dessert as well, which turned out to be nothing short of excellent. Bringing kids to a restaurant is usually a somewhat daunting task and can end up being the low point of the day during vacations sometimes, especially if you ran late for it and kids are tired and cranky. In some places you get entertainment for the kids, but usually the experience is not as good for the parents, or the food isn't really good, it tends to be a short blanket: you cover your head and uncover your feet kinda deal, you never get everything.. Except at Marzano. Food is outstanding, decor is delightful and airy, pricing is not cheap but competitive given the high quality, service is absolutely SUPERIOR. This restaurant exceeded any reasonable expectation. Bravo.

I’ve been hitting burger month since it was burger week, and we were lucky to get a table on a busy Sunday night of a long weekend. Their feature burger, in my humble opinion, was the best I have had, over any burger, any year. The service and atmosphere is always second to none, it’s at the top of the list for any occasion but......if you are trying to figure out where to get your burger month on......do not sleep on Marzano. Good food if they get your order right. I ordered 2 breakfasts with poached eggs soft for one order and eggs basted medium for the other order. But I got hard fried sunny side on both orders. Yuk? There were 6 of us, everyone had nothing but compliments about the food. I personally had the Verdura and a side of roasted mushrooms, there were done to perfection. Place was very clean and neat. We had two ladies serve us (Karin & Brits), they were amazingly friendly and fast, the only thing was no one came to check on us after but we didn't need anything regardless, prices were a bit higher but expected for a place like this. We went here for dinner and did not have a reservation. It was Saturday evening, and they were able to get us a table for 4. That was awesome. I think yoy should make reservations here if seating is important. 2 of us had pizza which was diffrrent than anything in the area. They were great pizzas. Two has spaghetti which was kind of just okay. There seemed to be a problem with just ordering an ordinary coffee though. zthat was kind of strange. Otherwise I would say the service is great, and prices are fair. A lively place...I told friends to give it a try.

This restaurant is great! The food is delicious. My friend and I shared a pasta dish and a pizza, and there was plenty for a full meal and leftovers. The atmosphere is very nice - aesthetically pleasing, modern, nice music, open layout. We got to the restaurant around 6 and were immediately seated. The wait staff was very personable and attentive; I asked our waitress a few questions about the menu and she answered all of them with ease. I would definitely eat at this restaurant again.

The space is very beautifully decorated and the pizza oven is incredible; very cool to watch them make the pizzas while you sit. I only give three stars as the gnocchi that I had wasn't very good; it was a little too chewy and bland (I poured some of their homemade chili oil on it for some taste). It was a little lacking in texture and flavour. Their side salad was very good; light and flavourful. My partner had the Margarita pizza and enjoyed it, but the bottom of the pizza crust in the middle was undercooked. Their seasons vegetables were little carrots. It would have been nice to add something else to that dish, other than just carrots. The gelato was good; great flavour options. For those with egg allergies, the server said their pasta was egg free, but I would double check with the chef to make sure.

Quick service, delicious food, roomy place, service with a smile and competitively priced food. Not sure what else to want. 5* from me.

Modern stylish decor. Friendly service. Trout was very good. Spicy salami pizza had excellent thin crust base, but was actually too spicy (for somebody who really likes spicy)... too many jalapeños. Recommended.

YES! I hadvto sign in to my google just to leave a review! BEST PASTA EVER! Will be coming back to nelson just for this. LITERALLY 10/10 you won’t regret it! Spaghetti was so goodvit’s unexplainable, it was magic in my mouth. Kudos to the chef. Seriously.

Awesome new-age italian restaurant! I had the meatballs appy,margherita pizza, and some gelato. The pizza was pretty next level delicious, it was baked in a wood fired oven traditional style and was among one of the best pizzas i've had in recent memory. The atmosphere of the restaurant was modern but stylish and the seating was comfortable, staff were very helpful and friendly and the food came fairly fast. Probably one of the better places to eat within Nelson.

Had to put a star only cause it wouldn’t let me write this otherwise. 5, 1/8” strips of a tri tip sreak for $20? Are you kidding me? I’m not fancy! But I’ve dealt with fancy, and the 5 strips of steak was below worthy! Thank the lords we paid with a gift card, that we won at a way better dinner!!!
