Great wines and good value. Personal everyday favourite: Vivace 2012 Pinot Grigio. I met their french wine maker...great winery experience for me.
Fantastic as usual. Will keep coming back!
Always worth it
Beautiful tasting room with a great view. One of the best Pinot Gris in the valley.
Outstanding winery in Osoyoos. I respect their attention to detail in: 1) Their choice of cultivars: grapes that can be expressed by the soil Osoyoos. 2) Handcrafting techniques: micro-batches, crafted with a balance of knowledge and intuition. 3) Harmony with the environment. An example is their squad of happy dwarf goats, who control weeds in the vineyard.
Amazing service and of course wine!!!
Really enjoyed the tasting. I have never done one before but as it was just a short walk away, I decided to go with my wife. I have to say I really liked it. We we on the patio, and given 5 different kinds of wine. I am not a big wine fan but I did really like the Moscato at the end. Beautiful, quiet day!
No chance for tasting.... need to book at least a day ahead these days. Kinda fun being able to boat up to the winery anyway. We picked up a couple bottles to enjoy with dinner at home anyway. Walk in sales are ok. Look for the larger yellow building on the left side of the lake if you going up the lake towards the cottages. Boat dock and ramp right there with La Stella signs.
Great tasting experience. The wine is excellent, and they've become one of the more famous and successful wineries in the area. Climb up the tower and check out the views of Osoyoos lake. They also let us walk through the vineyard and taste a couple varieties of grapes. Interesting to see the differences in the grapes themselves.
We had a wonderful experience at La Stella. Anthony was fantastic, very knowledgeable and pleasant. We went to a total of 10 wineries over 2 days and both felt that La Stella had the best tasting wine selections. The bottles are a bit pricier than most wineries we went to, but in this case a superior product. We loved the setting and view from the patio and tower. They usually only take reservations, but when not busy do take walk-ins. We highly recommend checking it out if in the area.
Reserved a spot for tastings without any expectations. It was our first visit and we absolutely loved their Fortissimo red. The tasting was informative, fun and relaxing. My partner and I loved it.
(Translated) Great experience, very unique Italian style wine. A must to visit. Thank you very much for the tasting (Original) Great experience, very unique Italian style wine. A must to visit. Merci beaucoup pour la dégusta
Excellent tasting experience. Loved the wines we tasted.
Awrsome wine.
Enjoy a taste of la dolce vita at this picturesque winery. The Tuscan style Rosato, made with Cab Franc, Merlot, and Sangiovese, is a favourite. They are the only winery in the area that I am aware of that has Sangiovese grapes in their wine. Savour a glass on their patio while enjoying the breathtaking view. This is a small taste of Italy in BC as they also sell delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Amazing!
Excellent staff and beautiful location. The patio never dissapoints and neither do their wines. The expressivo is an excellent full bodied red, good now but will be better when aged for another 5 years or so.
The staff was nice and helpful. The wines we tasted were agreeable (Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon), but we weren’t overly hooked. There was no food or even crackers to munch on while tasting. Could be a nice addition...
A boutique, hands on, true artisan winery that is passionate about the means as much as the end. Having had the pleasure of being a close friend of the winery for years i speak from direct experience. They practice Sustainable and organic methods to bring up their wines and advocate wines made with noninterventionist methods. They do not beleive in naming wines after the grape variety they are made from because that is only 1/4 of the deciding factor for the final style of the wine. The given vineyard’s terroir, the weather for that year’s growing season and the decisions man makes all make an equally important difference in the finished wine. As such, their wines are named after italian musical themes to convey to the consumer what they are about to get into: a light elegant wine (leggiero), a playful joyous wine (vivace), a loud and boisterous wine (fortissimo) or the top of the crescendo where there is nothing above it, the peak, the climax (Maestoso). Seek out the wines, visit them and see their sincere, intoxicating (pun intended) and contagious passion for their craft.
Long time customers and did another tasting today. Shanara was amazing, one of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic, professional and hospitable. La Stella scored a great asset with him coming on to the team. Can't wait to come back!
Easily one of my favourite wineries in the valley. Their wines are indeed a little pricier than others but well worth it for the quality. The service is always friendly and the views are stunning!
Incredible winery, fantastic wine! probably one of the best wines producers around. Top notch.
Great wine tasting and super friendly staff!
The winery makes you feel like you've been transported to Tuscany! Appropriate for an Italian themed winery. The deck has unparalleled views of Osoyoos lake. The property is a photographers dream. I love taking pictures here as much as I love their wines.
Loved the winery experience here. exactly what you would believe a small winery would be like. Love the Maestoso Merlot, was lucky to get the last 2014 bottle..
If you ever plan to visit Osoyoos in British Columbia make sure you stop by the beautiful La Stella winery. I enjoy visiting this winery every single time. First and foremost the wines are amazing. When you do the wine tasting they serve each type of wine in its specific glass to make sure the wine’s aroma and taste are represented at its best; this is how serious they are about their wine. Make sure to get the “symphony of the senses” tour that takes you down to the cellars to examine wines aging in barrel followed by a taste of the same wine from current release as well as a taste of that wine from their library. It is worth it. On top of all this I really like the architecture of the winery with its beautiful patio overlooking the vineyard and the lake. It is the perfect location for events.
STELLAr (get it?) service when we visited. Beautiful tasting area overlooking the lake and surrounding vineyards and I love the one-on-one (one employee per group) format, even though I know it’s not the best circumstances due to COVID. We enjoyed our 45 minutes with Al, he brought us some extras which we very much appreciated. Went home with a few bottles of wine. Thank you!!
La Stella offers some of the best wines in the south Okanagan. Their patio is a perfect, and relaxed spot to taste. Also, the Maelstrom is absolutely devastating. J
Phenomenal red wines! Although more expensive, I feel as if their 2014 Merlot was one of the best wines I have had in BC (pretty much tied with Osoyoos Larose). Their Rose is also world class, I have had nothing that comes close, truly an exceptional wine. The tasting experience was excellent as well, staff were well educated, friendly, and professional. The higher tasting fee was worth the price of admission for such good wines. I would make this winery priority #1 if you are staying in the area. FYI, call in advance to book a tasting!
Every wine is so delicious!
Was there four weeks ago, they have great wines. Staff were very nice and knowledgeable.
Incredible wine and views
Went there as part of a private wine tasting tour. (There was 4 of us, my inlaws, my husband and myself) it was the last stop on our tour and we were the only 4 people there. The cost of the tasting is included in the tour but this winery still charged us a 10$ tasting fee( most are $5) on top of the tour fee we had already paid. When we questioned this their response was "We get a lot of stag parties that come and just do tastings so thats why we charge more." ( like I said earlier, we were the only ones there) not only that but even after we had bought a few bottles they still charged us the tasting fee!! Most wineries wave the fee if you by a bottle of their wine. Needless to say that was just over a year ago and we haven't been back and we tell people to skip it, when they are out that way.
Visiting La Stella Winery was a pleasure from the moment we drove up. Beautiful building, well-maintained grounds, and welcoming faces. Al was so friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable during our wine tasting. We would absolutely recommend making La Stella part of your Osoyoos experience!
Great experience, and that moscato d'osoyoos is worth every penny!
An absolutely amazing experience, I have never experienced such a level of service from any winery. La Stella is the definition of a company that truly cares about it's products and customer satisfaction. A special thanks to Michelle for going the extra mile to deliver above and beyond customer service. I am a loyal La Stella customer for life!
Amazingly good reds. ❤️
Great tasting experience! Great view too!
I love the outdoor seating area and that they brought the tasting out to us (it was slow so may not always be available). Staff were extremely knowledgeable. I enjoyed that they poured some of the more expensive reds. Pack a picnic and enjoy a cold bottle of their pinot grigio and the view.
The winery itself was very pretty with amazing view but the service was garbage. The lady pouring the wine was very snobby. I told her i never been to a winery and asked how it works... she replied "you have never been to a winnery?" it was a sarcastic tone of voice that made me feel uncomfortable. they also have a sign that says if you buy $40 worth of wine they waive the $10 tasting fee, so i did. at the till she said i would actually have to buy $80 since i was with my wife. Just the whole experience with her made me feel bad, my wife felt the same way, she was not inviting or nice. very bitchy thought she was all that, we left soon after we arrived. i wont be coming back there that is for sure. if that lady is not the owner she needs to go, if it is the owner learn some customer service manners.
Apparently La Stella is building a mammoth commercial dock that has upset families and users of Osoyoos Lake. They should stop the dock and focus on wine making as it reflects poorly on the winery.
We had a lovely tasting experience at La Stella! Beautiful view in a Italian inspired decor and of course, good wines too! Worth the visit!
Great wines. The tastings are amazing! Location is beautiful
Great knowledgeable staff.. and nice view.
Amazing wine, Sommelier was knowledgable and great fun. Beautiful location.
Went to a tasting yesterday. Paid 5$ per person for 4 wines, no flyer or additional information and the wines weren't great and the per bottle price was expensive. Compared to wines and tastings at other wineries I can say save your time and money. It's not worth it.
The wine conasour had an excellent choice of wines for us to taste and was full of knowledge when asking questions about the wine. She was really cute too. Overall experience was one of the best that I have had for quality and taste of wine as well as the personal service.
Al was an excellent host! Very informative and helped guide our tasting. Really excellent wines as well - delicious today and exciting that they can cellar for 10+ years for added depth. Nice peaceful patio with pretty view.
Always a great experience, we come back every year for the moscato.
Higher quality European style wines with good ageability and structure. Friendly staff and location.
2016 Maestoso/Merlot: one of my favourites in the Okanagan...
I adored this winery. Great, friendly staff and amazing wines. Beautiful tasting room and the patio is perfection. I would highly recommend this hidden gem.
