Awesome food and great staff. Always a fun time !
Great place fantastic wood fired pizza
Love this hidden gem! Always great food, very nice country style rooms, wonderful hosts. You always feel welcome. Not to mention the wine tasting room and the home made jams!
Nice and simple winery. The room is clean and tidy. A European style breakfast is included.
I have been here 3 times and have had terrible service every time. The servers are very rude. I will never step foot in this place again.
Pizza night was awesome!
Friendly, good wine, great place. Very knowledgeable.
Very friendly family run business. Pizza can be on the dry side, but Thüringer sausage and kraut was wonderful. Complementary schnapps to top it off. Nice evening. Unoaked Chardonnay great patio sipper.
The off-season price was a great deal, so I went for it. Somehow the booking came up for a day after my intended stay. The vineyard owner was wonderful about that, and got the mistake corrected nicely. I really appreciate the time he took to do such a chore, which solidified him as a great professional host. The room was nice and comfy, clean, nicely accommodating as a good pine furnished vineyard accommodation should be. An additional greatly appreciated gesture by the host was to offer to make us dinner, as there was not much available for dining locally in a snowed -in early January. The host's asperations as a chef were evident in the well presented plates. My wife's lamb chops were just what she wanted. My meal, however, disappointed and is why the four stars instead of five. My schnitzel was, rather than the nice breaded veal cutlet that I happily anticipated, a chunk of gristle that had been run through a tenderizer a few times to no avail. Add that to the undercooked veggies and I sighed in resignation. My hopes had been up. Darn. Well, some anticipations are like that in life. We slept well in a comfortable bed, and the morning breakfast served by kindly staff was very enjoyable, from the fresh coffee to the kiwi fruit. The fresh buns and bread and charcuterie put us into a fine mood with which to hit the road to our next destination. We left content.
I’m so glad my wife found this place. The options for staying in a traditional hotel are limited for where we need to be. This is a cozy spot where you can tell the owner’s try to make you as comfortable as possible. From amazing food and wine (of course) to great customer service. Even though the room only has a double bed, you get two duvet’s. This way, you are not leaving your partner shivering in the night. Plus, we are surrounded by orchards and vineyards. Amazing!
Amazing food. Kind and helpful staff. Beautiful property. Super nice dogs. Will visit again under less stressful circumstances. Wish I could give 6 stars.
Great Reisling ???? best bread ever!!!
Great place and nice music. Sat within 6ft of the Vinyard while we had oven roast pizza and 10 samples of wine. Very nice experience
Great food.delishly fresh and the cream puffs for dessert was divine! Will be back :)
Just got through our step nephews funeral ordered pizza from the crows nest winery for the wake and our pizza was burnt ! Took it back and they were extremely rude pushed our niece out the door, so rude!! Thank you for making a sad super hard day to end like this :(
Wow!!! Couldn't believe this is true. I feel like I'm at home with a top dog chef cooking for me. The food and wine are spot on. It's family orientated but is great for younger couples wanting a romantic dinner & dance. My understanding after talking to the chefs is live bands are only on Friday but there's no question, I'll be returning again. Great job Crowsnest!!! You made all the guests feel like family.
While staying in Cawston, we decided to try the restaurant. Service was fairly cold and not very welcoming. We both ordered the schnitzel and spatzle and it was very good. Service continued to be very spotty. The restaurant dog was at our feet during the whole meal with no apologies from the staff. We could have stayed home and had our dog at our feet. Seems a little to relaxed, even though we love dogs. Desert was supposed to be fresh lemon torte. It came to us dry, tasteless and non edible. We told our waitress and she tried to tell us it was fresh and just cooked and German so different. My wife spent her childhood in Germany and her mom is German, we did not like it, it was awful and not in the level of tortes we have ever enjoyed. She had brought us the bill, did not offer to take it off the bill and said she would mention it to the chef. We paid our bill and left, before she ever came back. We even left a good tip, but desert left us not ever wanting to come back to this place. Also get a server that cares about customers, not someone who tries to tell you, you should love everything they bring you. Customers should come first. We come to this area a lot but will never frequent this restaurant again.
Had the crepes for lunch and unfortunately I was again underwhelmed.
first time trying it and horrible service and food tastes like cardboard would never go there agian
Great food, great bread and most of all great wine
They have a really nice terrace with a small menu. Everything we ate was really good and the service was prompt and friendly.
Great restaurant + winery! The owners and staff were still excellent despite being understaffed. We were able to do our tasting even without a reservation. I would like to come back here and stay in their accommodations for the ultimate wine retreat. Great work everyone!
The attention to detail and customer service was top notch. We really appreciated the special considerations and kindness of the owners.
Amazing! Great history and very tasty wines for great prices!!!
Food is next level. Sour dough bread is amazing, brought home loafs and froze it, still amazing when reheated. Sparkling wine is good. Stop here on route to wherever you are going, worth the stop
A very nice lunch out on the patio.
The restaurant was excellent. We didn't try the wine. I can recommend the Schnitzel, it was very flavourful.
Worth to go for wine tasting and round these area.
The food and the wine were great! Excellent place to stop by to eat!
Terrific food. Fantastic wine.
Order numerous pizzas costing $300. The pizza was burnt. Not just a little burnt but enough that it tasted horrid. Upon returning the pizza and asking for a refund or to replace the burn pizza instead of apologizing we were greeted fowl language and physically pushed out of the restaurant. The owner then proceeded to aproach our vehicle and yell at us. We were ordering pizza for a funeral and at a time like this we were in no way wanting conflict just food to feed family. The disrespect they showed paying customers is disgusting. Horrible pizza and horrible customer service.
I just had the Pizza and the schnitzel and it was awesome, the family and staff are great, the schnitzel was the best I had. Live music and nice views, there is absolutely nothing better. Thank you to the staff and management
Great getaway spot! Arrived Friday just in time to enjoy pizza night (out door brick oven), live band, great atmosphere. It felt like home with kids running around, people dancing, talking and laughing together. Our room in the B&B was clean, simply decorated, large and comfortable. European breakfast was complete with coffee/tea, fruit, bread, meat, cheese, homemade apricot jam. Highly recommend this hidden gem just moments off the Crowsnest Hwy (Hwy 3).
The schnitzel sandwich makes me want to dance. Don't think, just order it.
Lovely European style guestrooms and the restaurant serves delicious breakfast included.
We visited Crowsnest Winery this week and stayed in one of their seven rooms overnight. We had the pleasure of dining alfresco overlooking the vines. The ambience was first class and the food really well prepared. The wine went down very well too. The service was really positive. Though I had the lamb and my wife a beef medallion (both excellent) there was the option of a very tasty looking pizza which is prepared in an outdoor wood-fired forno which everyone raved about. The Continental breakfast was fresh and prepared very much in the European way - fresh fruit, cheeses and meats along with fantastic breads which are prepared on sight by the family who run the business. Such a great experience from start to finish which over-delivered, and all in beautiful surroundings.
Sept. 1st. ordered 300 dollars of their pizza for a family wake. more than half was burnt, none of our family and guests could eat it. when we returned to complain we were greeted with insults and expletives and physically pushed our niece out of the store. social media is a powerful tool. a good reputation takes years to build but minutes to wreck. good luck crows nest
Stunning! If you go, try a dessert pizza, you'll be glad you did. This was one of the best meals we had in town, relaxed and outdoor on the patio, right in front of the rustic wood-burning outdoor kitchen where we chatted with Sasha as he made our pizza. A lot of passion and personality goes into the food here. Wonderful herb-rich dough with fresh toppings, and the ability to customize however you want. If you like soft, Neapolitan-style pizza, just ask for it... Sasha will cook it in a cooler part of the oven for the perfect texture. Beautiful surroundings, being under an olive tree just steps from the vineyard.
The Best place to eat in Cawston. Amazing pizzas and bakery. I would highly recommend to anyone. Nice to have a restaurant that actually cares about the locals.
We love Sasha and Anna, they are some of the best hosts in the Similkameen. We initially found the Crowsnest in 2017 and have loved coming back since. The food is high quality and we'll well priced. The wine and homemade bread are both very notable highlights, you'll want or buy a case. Looking forward to coming again
Went for "pizza night". Hmmm.... The "chicken" was paper-thin chicken deli meat, and the rest of the ingredients we sub par at best. The dough was so thin that it cooked cracker-crisp in the wood fired oven. We only ate one slice, were not responded to very well when we sent it back (in fact the chef/owner? was insulted & downright rude), and still had to pay for half of it. Will never return. The servers were nice, and it was a nice setting.
Great food, Great wine, Great people. Absolutely love this place
Authentic and fantastic food in the heart of the similkameen! If you need some hunter schnitzel and spätzle in your life, look no further!
Another great night st the Crowsnest!
Best small place! Friendly Staff. Really good food & wine.
Great place to go for a fresh experience of wine food and music. Family brother sister business. I've never been disappointed yet it is a favorite place to go and sit next to the vineyard on the lawn and listen to a live band on the weekends. Pet friendly as well . All around great food.
Provides a home away from home surrounded by beautiful countryside and stunning hills. Friendly helpful staff and very clean guest suites. Delicious wines, bakery, and restaurant where the icing on the cake.
We ordered the lamb chops and the steak with extra shrimp. The shrimp were raw - still cold in the centre. We sent those back and they got a bit more cooking. The beef (ordered medium) was still fully raw besides the outer edges. I can have a rare steak, but I don't want to eat large quantities of raw beef fat. Comped us 10%, but the beef dish alone is $38 with the added prawns and we couldn't enjoy our meal. Had to leave half the raw steak. Potato wedges were undercooked too. That all can happen - what motivated me to leave 1 star is that the chef came out, presumably offended by our complaints about the cooking and behaved ignorantly while my girlfriend browsed in the adjoining shop. Left pretty angry about the whole experience.
Very good.
It's hard for me to review this place as we never had a chance to eat. It was so busy and the staff was killing themselves trying to serve a huge group. We waited for an hour for our order only to discover it hasn't been started yet. I would say the biggest issue I had was managing expectations. If they'd told us at the beginning that it would be a long wait we could have made an informed decision. I feel for the staff, but it was a disappointing experience.
We have been here many times and always enjoyed the food and great service- NOT today ! Something has changed, prices have gone up, server was terrible, the two girls basically stood behind the till and talked. Their “ new” menu is pricey- and it doesn’t even mention their sausage rolls. So we ordered two sausage rolls $4.00 each, and a bowl of the daily soup listed on the menu for $7.00. The sausage rolls take some time to warm up, they come and are almost 1/2 the size from all the many previous times we have had them there. So disappointed. Two bowls of soup arrive with 2 very thin slices of bread, no butter. The server never once came to check on us once we were served. Only us sitting inside and two tables outside. They were all waiting while the servers were hiding behind the front desk talking. We ate all of our food and had to get up to ask for the bill. 1. She was given $50.00 cash, then says do you want change ( the bill was $38.69). As been a server for years you NEVER ask IF they want change, you just bring it back to the customer !!! While she was getting the change , we noticed they charged $9.00 each for the bowls of soup( menu says $7.00- which is plenty for a bowl of soup !) she looks confused, goes and talks to the other girl, comes back and says they haven’t had time to update their menu !! Seriously, get some stickers and place over the price while you are both standing there doing nothing !! Then she comes back and say she can take $2.00 off , which means that is $8.00 per bowl- I just said fine just bring our change and yes we left her a tip. So for $40. We had a very overpriced lunch !! Sure not like it was a year ago. Maybe they should just do a brunch and a dinner service, but at these prices and less portions, not many people are going to be going there often????
Food it's delicious but the service is the worst. The waitress was rude and didn't accommodate our request when we get inside we realize they had available everything what we had ordered in the table. She was so lazy
Ordered 2 plates of lamb and two of steak.. the steaks were over cooked... the lamb was completely raw... we ordered a pinot noir bottle from the menu, they brought an open 2008 vintage bottle, the wine took an hour to air and the taste to open up.. we didn't enjoy it... extremely negative experience to ruin our only dinner we had in town... the place looks fine and fun but the food experience was very disappointing...
We really had an amazing time at Crownest. We tasted all the wines, had such a good dinner in the restaurant, slept in the B&B (real nice), had breakfast (miam), went to walk around (they also have bikes in the summer). What a great experience! The owners are really friendly, we had an amazing time!
Excellent service and very nice friendly people. The room was very nice and cozy.
Third time we have stayed here and as always the stay was fantastic. Food and wine were both great. The daily fresh baked bread and cinnamon buns are terrific. The cinnamon buns are a meal unto themselves. The included breakfast of fresh baked bread fruits jam and meats is a geat way to start the day. Definately recommend staying here. If you are planning on doing a local wine tour or even traveling to Osoyoos, 30 minute drive, to hit up their winneries it is a great home base to start your adventures from.
Pizza was soggy. Service was good but there's little things they should work on. Wernt told the special either.
We stayed at their guesthouse. Their breakfast and dinner are delicious and room is clean and comfortable. You might even step into live music night!
visited in September. Very friendly staff and excellent wine.
Not too busy. Covid safe. Great food and drink, with craft beer and cider and cocktails. Excellent server! I have to mention the bakery, took a loaf home.
(Translated) Nice and friendly atmosphere with delicious food. There is always something on offer, from tasty Pizza Night (from the stone oven!) To brunch on the weekend and Oktoberfest in September. And did I already mention the home-made wine and home-baked bread? Really delicious! Echt lecker!
A very nice Vineyard with a casual restaraunt. Their short menu is exceptionally well executed and they clearly know what they're doing! We had a great time. Picturesque location too.
Don't ever go to this place for food just terrible especially for the price never going here again.
Great room, great service, great food and wine. We loved it.
Absolutely amazing food! The staff were masked and followed all Covid-19 protocols which made us feel comfortable and welcome. The staff were warm and friendly and took time to discuss various wines with us. The whole laid back rustic feel was exactly what we needed! Great job everyone!!!
Great service, amazing food and wine! I'll definitely be coming back to try the pizza.
visited here on sunday. our table was surprised at the limited menu, and we were told they had no salmon or soup left. we were never told about the daily specials either until we saw other tables being served burgers and steak. luckily we were able to change our orders, but the portion sizes of the meals did not make up for it. we left hungry and will not be back.
The stone oven pizza with fresh ingredients was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had for a long time. You could also a flight of wines if you want to do tasting there. The 2017 Gewürz was fantastic and well priced. On Friday nights, they have a local band for live performances. Great atmosphere and very good food.
The attention to detail and customer service was top notch. We really appreciated the special considerations and kindness of the owners.
Great food, great service. Likely best salmon I've had anywhere.
Amazing place, amazing staff, amazing food! I love their Pizza Nights. Can't wait for warm summer nights next year!
Wonderful setting, appropriately sized meals (so not too large) small menu but simple tasty food. Worth the detour.
Amazing, kind staff, amazing food and warm comfortable beds. Great for a nice relaxing weekend!
Wonderful people in a lovely place! Open all year. We'll be back!
Place is great! Love the staff and the pizza is amazing. Always have a great time with the whole family.
Stopped on a whim and was so glad we did!! Amazing staff amazing wines and the food was awesome. Loved sitting on the patio with the wine sampler and vineyard sampler off the menu. Looking forward to going back for the pizzas in the amazing outdoor pizza oven. Took away a bottle of wine a great memory
Great food and wine. Clean accommodations. Wood fired oven
We stayed at the guesthouse with our two young kids and had dinner at the restaurant. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The room was very clean and had air conditioning (helped in the 46 degree weather). The included breakfast was fresh and tasty. They have their own fresh baked bread and preserves which are delicious. The location is perfect for exploring the area and the local wineries. A lot of little things they did, like having decaf coffee available at the rooms (they also offered to make us espresso drinks downstairs), and the owner was very generous about letting us charge our EV up overnight from his outlet (they are planning to get ev Chargers soon but this was plenty to get us going in the morning). Dinner at the restaurant on the outdoor patio was great. We did a tasting too and they had some really nice whites and reds, we took some home with us. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.
The food was good, with a very relaxed environment and the prices were good. However our experience was very upsetting due to our server clearly being in over her head. She didn’t check in, got our order wrong and we had to ask another server for the rest of our order, and a charcuterie platter took 30 minutes to come to our table.
Great service! Such a fun night with the live music n fire wood pizza! Sascha is fantastic and Darcy was a treat to have as a server!! Will definitely be coming back next year!!! Highly recommend
Ordered pizza for my brothers funeral. $315 ... it was all burnt except for one pizza. I drove back to give the pizza back.. and they yelled at me and told me to get out.. never seen such disrespect in my entire life. And unprofessional. They came running back at my car and took out one peice and yelled and said it's not burnt. .. at this time of grief how dare you treat people like that I'm very upset and very disappointed
Good food, live music, great service, friendly staff. Drove 1.5 hours to eat here, definitely worth it.
Great location, food, drink, and staff (and live music!). If you are in the area I highly recommend!!
Great place to stop for lunch on the way home to Vancouver from Osoyoos weekend! Staff friendly and the food was great!! We did go thinking there would be pizza but it’s only done on Friday.
Fantastic pizza from their wood fired oven. Wide range of wines to suit many tastes. Sascha, the proprietor, is super involved in the entire food and beverage experience for his guests. There are even several rooms to let, on property Great place to stop at after a full and fun day of wine tasting in Cawston/Keremeos
Great meals and reasonably priced! Excellent wines! Will definitely come back
My wife and I stayed at the Crowsnest on Sept. 7th to celebrate her birthday. The rooms were clean and tiny... it reminded me of traveling in Europe. It is a working vineyard setting. Loved the service and the meals. The riesling was delicious and dry. The breakfast was great and so was the bread, that is made there. Thank you
Fun stop to chat with local vintor and sample the local wines. Interesting restaurant menu, closes at 8pm though so don't dally.
A great place to stay prior to heading up to Cathedral Lakes. Really great food, nice rooms, and a beautiful environment.
Been coming here for years when we're in town. Dinner is always lovely and service is relaxed yet professional. They also sell fresh baked sourdough bread which is to die for! Very recommended!!!
We asked for one round of tastings between two people, they brought us two tastings because "we wouldn't be able to taste it". They charged us for two tastings. Please don't tell me how I have to order, or charge me for bringing something I didn't order. Wine was nothing special and tasted harsh.
Great food, wine, atmosphere and I love the art for sale there!????
Very nice. Quaint and tidy.
Great turkey schnitzel! Wonderful atmosphere. Will return.
Went for the Prim Rib Dinner special. The portion size is a little on the small side but food taste is very good. The space is small but charming. We all had a great time. You must try there House Schnapps. It soooooo good!
Incredibly clean guest room and super friendly owner / hostess! Amazing dinner and fabulous wines! What could be better - on-site dogs to greet you!!
