Great selection of traditional beer styles, all very well crafted. No crazy infusions here, just solid beer. The current line up defintely malty, which we're huge fans of. Highly recommend, we'll be looking for their stuff in our local beer store. The black lager amd golden ale were our faves.

Love this spot! It’s a great little stop on the downtown Nelson strip. Great patio, stellar batch-crafted beer, and wonderful staff. Live music on Wednesday nights brings in artists from all over BC! Food from Thor’s Pizza puts a cheery cherry on top of all this greatness! Bathrooms are clean and the Pale Ale was my favourite! Stop here for a great brewery stop during your travels!

Started off as a great experience…bartender poured us some tasters, then a pint around 9:30. They mentioned last call was soon, but no big deal. We were having a great time, until 9:55 when the bartender came out and told us “we are closing and you must finish your drinks”. He did not specify a time or duration, so we carried on chatting and sipping our drinks. At 10:20, he came by again and said “we closed 20 minutes ago and I poured your drinks 50 minutes ago.” At this point, even though they advertised being open until 11:00 PM, we were kicked out before 10:30 PM and could not finish our drinks.

Great local craft brewery that opens on Canada day with a great live rock band!!! Tried the no. 1, 4, and 5. All excellent choices - best craft brewery of my rocky road trip. You guys make the drive worth it ????

This brewery and taproom is well situated on the main strip of the city. There are bites and food offerings - the pretzels are baked in house and the sausage is sourced locally. Most importantly the beers are awesome. Our favorites included the Saison and Porter. The staff are exceptional and there's a glowing vibe day and night. Don't miss this place when you're in town.

Best beer in nelson the super IPA is Da Bomb. Go get a charcuterie board from somewhere local and pig out here.

We’re on a bike trip and came here after riding for a bunch of tasty beers, bartender was super fun and friendly, fun relaxing atmosphere Where Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Will be back again! ????

Great little brewery with an awesome cabin like vibe. The Pale Ale is my favourite but I haven't had a beer of theirs I didn't like. No kitchen but you're welcome to bring food with you.

Cute woodsy environment. We came here for an afternoon flight on my birthday. The bar tender (excuse me if there’s a different name) was very kind, and made us feel right at home. The golden ale and cabin fever were our two favorites! The spice of the winter ale stayed snuggly warm on the pallet. All in all this is a great brewery and definitely keeps up with the microbreweries we have in Spokane!

Some of the best beer you'll find anywhere. Another one of the few places that serves a true Canadian pint (20ozs). Not the 16oz US glasses most places try to pawn off as pints. Nice location on historic Baker St with outdoor seating available on a small street side patio. Snacks are available but there's no kitchen. Nice décor inside. Service has always been fine. Some staff are friendlier then others but that's the case everywhere.

Great vibe and great atmosphere. Pricing was on point for the product. They had a number of beers to choose from but in summary, none really popped for flavour. I would say it’s a must stop but not my favourite Nelson Brewery. Staff was very helpful and enjoyed it is in the Ale Trail app.

On the main drag, in the heart of downtown Nelson is where you will find Backroads Brewing Company. Backroads' master brewer, Mike, is inventive, knowledgeable, friendly and creates extremely consistent and delicious beers. The staff and owners are knowledgeable, friendly and truly passionate. The vibe is mountain town all the way. Art, live music and culture blend with a diverse client base that is always friendly and interesting. This place is a gem! Love it.

Always a great spot - lively, great atmosphere and always busy. Did I mention the beer is amazing? Good spot for a casual beer or to meet a group of friends for a night out.

Decent, albeit limited (~6), selection of beers on tap. No WiFi, which I found somewhat shocking. Service was fine, though I’d class towards the disinterested vs. engaged end of the spectrum. Large seating area, with a 20-person patio (requiring table served service). No TVs. Don’t remember any tunes, so unremarkable if there were any.

Fantastic location, friendly staff, cool ambiance. I would hang out here often if lived nearby. The pale ale and who spiked the punch were top list contenders worth trying.

We enjoyed our visit to Backroads Brewery. The Elderflower & Elderberry cider was delicious & sour. My husband has the Eldorado beer and enjoyed it as well. The pretzel was a little over-done but the mustard side dip was delightful!

CITIZEN FOUR

Excellent little brewery on the Main Street in Nelson. They sell growlers and other merchandise and offer flights and pints. Try the Hefeweizen. It’s delicious.

The beer was great and their growlers are very cool. I loved that our whole family could sit and enjoy something together - grandparents, kids with juice boxes, baby, pregnant lady, etc. Your location is great, the atmosphere was lovely and the ability to bring in whatever food you want from another business to eat it very cool. We will be back next time we visit Nelson.

A group of us had drinks on Thursday night, and as per the statement on the Pub's web page brought some food with us. A total of 4 takeaway boxes from the Hume hotel. Upon leaving one of the waitresses told us rather rudely to "Take our garbage as the establishment doesn't have a kitchen". Upon asking where we could dispose of the items, we were told to take them outside with us. Very poor attitude from the part of the staff IMHO. Beer was good but pricey, with a pint and a 6 oz glass of wine coming pout aver 17 bucks. They have certainly lost my business...

Really good customer service and it’s a fun place to go in Nelson. I have tried all their beers, but I think they should play around different kind of hops and malts. To me they all taste the same.. maybe that’s just me.
