Awful experience. Overlooked food, overdressed salad, untrained staff, corked wine that the staff didn't realize was corked. Our sommolier friend who was part of our group was shocked that new glasses were not provided when new wines were ordered and that management seemed to know very little about wine. The manager even tasted the corked wine from one of our pre-used glasses instead of pouring some into a clean/unused glass.... gross!

It was honestly a pretty bad experience. Not worth the ‘fine dining’ price. To start, the music they were playing (very loudly) was 90s rnb? The ‘famous’ Caesar salad was soggy and pretty bland. We were told one of the cheeses on the cheese and meat board were smoked but it was just a very plain (and cheap tasting) cheddar. The prosciutto on the board had a piece of plastic?? Wrapped in it. (See picture). The side plate was really dirty. (See picture). The base of the table had gum on it that I was lucky enough to step in (note the sarcasm and see picture) and to top it off they offered BLACK licorice at the end of your meal. Not mints. The server was nice... that’s pretty much it.

Pricey, probably won’t be back. Here’s my review: Service: Excellent. We had a large group of 21 and the server was very attentive and friendly, she placed all of our orders correctly and she was prompt with bringing us water and bread. Food: we ordered NY strip steak, escargot, Chicken Caesar (as you can tell by the photo, it was over priced, small portion for what you’re paying), the calamari (we didn’t end up finishing it, it was chewy and way too oily), and the burger. The steak was okay, it was cooked to my desire, seasoned well, nothing outstanding. I paid $44 to get the 8 oz NY strip with a Caesar and 2 sides. Table bread is ace bakery bread and is freshly baked which is nice. Decor: great for date night, chandeliers, table cloths and cloth napkins, great service. Overall I found it over priced and would prefer to go to the Keg for better prices and better steaks. If it’s more expensive than the Keg, it’s gotta be better than the Keg, and it was unfortunately not. Also, for the price I expect a menu that does not have spelling errors. Just saying. Lastly, we came for Family Day Monday, as a large group for a birthday party. When I first made the reservation I asked if there were half priced oysters on the holiday Monday, and was told that yes they would be having their regular Monday deal even though it was a holiday. When we arrived we were told that they did not have the deal. That was disappointing as the birthday girl loves oysters and we booked the place because of that.

I was quite disappointed this evening when my friend and I decided to go to Cagney's. I had very fond memories as a child going to Cagney's and enjoying their classic Caesar salad and home fries. Continue going to this place for many years and always had enjoyable food until tonight. The Caesar salad was soaked in dressing, the burger was very salty and the fries were partially cooked. Needless to say I will not be back.

Don't let the location of this restaurant deter you (between a bowling alley and LCBO)from checking out this restaurant for your next event. I hosted an intimate wedding reception at Cagney's this past long weekend for about 45 people and I can't say enough good things about this place. From start to end the general manager,Shagan, was accommodating, patient, professional, approachable and very helpful. The staff were all friendly and asked several times how our night was going. The venue itself was swanky for a restaurant and it made us feel like we were at an exclusive hall. The food was absolutely delicious!!!! I got nothing but compliments from my guests. I can't thank Shagan and Cagney's enough!!! They also gave us a small gift at the end of the night. I highly recommend this restaurant for any private event you may have. My only negative feedback would be that since I was planning this all last minute, I needed immediate responses and found that the email response time was slower than I would have liked. Will be back in the future!

My boyfriend and I went over to Cagney's for date night and we were not disappointed. Our server Warren was very attentive and a great salesperson as well (Sold us a side we had no intention of getting - sauteed mushrooms which by the way were delicious!) The food came very quickly and again Warren checked in on us periodically to make sure our needs were being met. (He seems to also have a career in photography because he was very committed to getting a good picture of my bf and I when we had asked) I paired my steak and lobster with a nice Merlot which for the price was pretty good. The lobster was also very delicious. My boyfriend and I also had some Oysters - which were quite pricey but good however, we would not get them unless we came on half price Oyster Mondays. I was a little bit disappointed with my steak, seeing as this is a steakhouse I had high expectations for my filet mignon, it did not melt in my mouth. I think we would come back and try more options from the menu but perhaps stay away from the bacon wrapped Filet Mignon.

I have never had such terrible steak, we were a party of 4 and not one person had anything nice to say about the food or the weird low blue lighting at this place. The manager or whomever was just at the bar and drinking with the bartenders. Definitely never going back.

We went to this place to meet with a group of 10 of us from work, celebrating a promotion. The place was easy to find due to large signage. The interior was nice, warm and inviting. We sat in front of the fireplace on a cold evening. Our waitress provided us with very average service. I ordered the prime rib, and asked to have ceasar salad instead of seasonal vegetables, which usually pairs with the prime rib. I was given a full size salad, plus the vegetables and was charged the full amount. No big deal, maybe a miscommunication. The prime rib comes with a brown sauce, which does not taste like au jus, or red wine reduction. Taste very similar to thickened consomme, and was bordering in-eatably salty. Mash potatoes were ok, but cold. Overall, taste of the meal was very average to not so good. Portion size was on the bigger side. When it came to the bill, the restaurant took the liberty to add on the gratuity for us, at a whopping 31%! I would be willing to pay that if the service was top notch, but unfortunately it was not. It is almost insulting when restaurants feel they need to add the tip, like I wasn't going to reward good service.

Overall not worth it. Food isn’t that great and neither is the customer service. Calamari tasted bad and looked like it was just thrown on the plate on some leaves. The mashed potatoes tasted so weird. Almost burnt??? 3 friends had it and they all agreed it did not taste good. One friend got a substitute of Caesar salad and somehow THAT was terrible too. It tasted like coleslaw with too much garlic. I don’t even know how that’s possible. And my chicken and sausage pasta was SO BLAND it was almost insulting. I MAKE BETTER PASTA AT HOME AND THIS WAS ALMOST $30. Smh. Closer to the end of dinner my friend was given the wrong order because the waitress messed up and she only offered her 20% off. THAT IS BASICALLY JUST TAX. Very insulting when it was HER mistake. I have had better food and customer service at Jack Astor’s. The quality of the food does not match the price point. Left us completely devastated. We went to look at the event room for a small wedding reception and the bride fell in love with the space, so much that we actually paid for deposit on the spot because the date was available. A few days later they inform us a mistake was made and it was booked by someone else already… The bride was completely heart broken because of such a poor mistake and I don’t understand how something like that could be over looked when we made it clear to triple check before we gave a deposit since we did not want this to occur. I was appalled to hear this news and since the wedding is so soon we’re left with even less time to find a venue. I’m so disappointed with this establishment for making such a big mistake and possibly ruining someone’s big day. We also already did the invitations since it’s so soon and now we have to deal with another major issue. Very irresponsible and poor management. Also they tried to tell us that we could divide the room with another 20 people we don’t even know with a curtain.. it’s a small room and we could barely fit our wedding guests. Plus there’s a pandemic… how are we supposed to share a small room with another group of strangers? Forget social distancing and capacity limits

Fine dining in a strip mall. Prime rib was gross and slimey. Mashed potatoes tasted like a barn. Coffee tastes like water filtered through woodchips. Creme brulee was snot runny. Service was super friendly. Ambiance inside super nice. I wouldn't recommend. Food is too gross.

My girlfriend and I made a reservation for 7pm on a Saturday night - we were seated right away. Service was on the slower side (nice for a 3 hour sit down meal, but not the place for a quick stop in). Atmosphere didn't seem to match our expectations. The music was a bit all over the place and it was fairly loud, even as patrons left and the dining room empited a bit. I ordered a caesar, which I enjoyed; my girlfriend ordered a glass of wine and was unfortunate in having fruit flies fly into her glass. The waitress was good in replacing her entire wine order immediately. Food was good quality. I ordered the pasta pescatora (stuffed with seafood, jumbo shrimp, and salmon) and my girlfriend ordered the filet minon, cooked perfectly rare. I had the creme brulee of the day (hazelnut) and she had the chocolate cake. Overall, a great place if you're looking to spend some time to enjoy your meal over a long period. A bit noisy, but the food makes up for it!

Super bad service. Their 'cured meat and cheese plate' was sandwich meat and low quality cheese. The calamari was like rubber. Service was so poor we decided to make a game out of it and time our waitress. She took 15 mins to bring us the wine, 25 mins to bring the calamari and meat n cheese plate, 24 mins to bring us the bill, 27 mins to bring us the actual machine to pay and 17 mins to bring my friend a bag for her take out. When I called to make a complaint the "manager" compared the restaurant to a fast food place and disregarded our complaint. He asked why we didn't complain while we were there and I tried to explain that we were trying to spare the waitress and not embarrass her or make her upset. There was a wedding party beside us and we didn't want to make a scene and disturb them. All in all we didn't complain while we were there to avoid ruining anyone else's night. Definitely will never go back there again. We wasted 3.5 hrs there for nothing. Way too pricy for the quality and service.

Luxurious steakhouse and atmosphere. The service and food was excellent. The steaks were juicy and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the prime rib, so juicy and the au jus was delicious. It was 9:55PM a bit late already but I was craving for a really good Caesar Salad tonight and tried to checkout places near our house in Mississauga that was still open and found Cagney’s steakhouse on Google, checked out the reviews about their Caesar salad & just had to try for myself & did not disappoint! I had a truly delicious Caesar Salad plus hubby ordered a Chicken Supreme that was also a good one! The staff was kind enough to still accommodate us since we thought they close at 10:30 & didn’t know their kitchen closes at 10PM! Awesome staff! Perfect Caesar Salad & My craving satisfied! We celebrated my dad's 60th birthday here and the service was great. Our waitress kept tabs on us despite it being a busy night with multiple celebrants. The menu items are kind of pricey but it was worth it as the platters are fairly large, at least for my build. Overall, it was a good time and would come back again for another celebration.

For many years, my wife and 2 children have frequently dined at Cagney's as the atmosphere was very family oriented and the meals offered great value for the money. We were all left very disappointed upon opening the menu and seeing the outrageous prices. It did not take us long to get up and walk out. A friend of mine warned me about going there as they also feel that the change in the restaurant was not a positive one but quickly found out for myself this evening. When I asked my son where he wanted to go to celebrate him graduating from University, he immediately said Cagney's and the disappointed look on his face when he opened the menu was very disheartening. I guess you have just lost another valuable customer

I've lived in Mississauga my whole life and have never been to Cagney's, this was my first time and did the interior blow me away. Small steak house tucked away in a small strip plaza in Streetsville. I didn't actually eat dinner here but more of a social gathering with friends for some light appy and drinks. Just ordered a beef bite, grilled squid, Cesar salad, and creme brulee to share with my wife. Everything was very flavourful and delicious, my only complaint was the beef bite was a little too cooked for me. I learned that all their desserts are made in house by the father of the establishment and boy was that creme brulee good! I would say it's pricier than your average Keg but even just having the appys I could taste the hard work the chefs put into creating these dishes. Will have to go back for a proper dinner soon to try their steaks.

A nice steak house tucked in the middle of a strip mall. It was a hidden gem that I would have driven by a hundred times before. The atmosphere was very nice and the wait staff were very pleasant. The wine selection is decent and had some great options. A test to all steak houses I ordered the Cesar salad, steak for my meal. They were done very nicely. Salad was crisp and dressed well. Steak was cooked well but did not wow me. Had some Humble Pie Cabernet which was excellent choice. My friend had the sea bass that looked really good and was not over cooked. Overall a nice meal.

Used to love this place, but after tonight we were extremely unimpressed. Things have definitely gone downhill. Go to Ruth's Chris instead, you'll have a much better experience!

We had actually intended on going to another restaurant but it turned out to be closed for a function. The food quality was excellent. Both steaks came out exactly as ordered. The peppercorn steak I ordered had a wonderful peppercorn gravy which was done exceptionally well. Service was 4/5. The staff was friendly and attentive. The inside is renovated to a quality standard and the colour lights might go either way for some. I would say the overall price was a little high in my opinion. I probably would reserve eating here on more special occasions where I am more prepared to spend $200-300 on a dinner. Overall it was a nice experience despite being more pricey than we had expected.

Pathetic experience. .poor customer service and disgusting food. The cutlery had scratches which shows it had been used 1000 times and no body cares to replace them. We ordered a steak and a burger. After a very long wait they brought the complimentary bread...a lot of customers who came after us were served before. The steak came without a steak knife at a steakhouse! The burger was smelly and came without ketchup which was requested at the time of ordering food. Very pricey compared to quality of food and service. Would never go there again and won't recommend to anyone .

The most disgusting seafood experience of my life. I was expecting at least decent quality for the price but everything was chewy and tough. The shrimp and scallops were rubber. The mussels were sour or gooey or tough. The crab legs were 110 and the meat inside was dry and crumbly. Please do not order seafood here.

Cagney's is by far the worst restaurant I have ever dealt with. Their service is terrible, and the manager Alex is extremely rude. I booked a party for 50 people, and last minute calling to confirm my reservation a week before the date, they tell me they have to cancel it. DO NOT GO HERE! Especially if you are booking for a large party size. With their poor communication, service and professionalism, they are not worth your business.

Tonight we Went with family for a 93rd Birthday and to celebrate Mother’s Day. There were 13 of us and staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. From the time we went in till the time we left we were treated phenomenally. The service was great, the food was prepared and brought out in a very timely manner. It’s presentation and taste was well beyond expectations. Hands down this place is a gem and will definitely be back. Loved it; the restaurant is beautifully designed: posh and trendy. The food is delicious! Similar pricing to the keg so it's moderate+ depending what you order. We had a bottle of wine - white, butternut $60 which has a really great flavor. Its not really sweet but has depth. And smells great! The Flatbread was divine! And big enough to split with 2 people. Calamari was good - big pieces and it wasn't rubbery. For the first time ever i only took photos of only the dessert - peanut butter cheesecake, which isn't on the menu but the waitress will tell you they have it. We scraped the plate! All in all 5/5, we'll definitely come back! Oh and the waitresses aren't (for a lack of a better term) annoying. I don't remember who we had, but she was attentive without being over the top. A huge plus!

Where to begin... I was there for my friends Birthday with a group of 15 on Sat April 9th. We had 3 booths in the bar area which was nice, spent the first hour and had apps. My husband and I and another couple ordered our meal right away as we were hungary and the rest of the group ordered much much later. We waited and waited and waited and no food, by this time the rest of the group got their meals and finished it and we had yet to see ours. We were finally told after having told us it would be 5 mins 3 times that our food went to another table which I believe was a total lie and they probably forgot to place out order. The owner comes over apologizes half ass and gives us a bottle of wine. I didn't eat my meal cause we were rushed and the group is coming by to our place. our bill comes and none of the meals were comped not even half the bill which was very surprising considering it was after 10pm when we go our food. We go to leave and see the Owner hanging at the bar having drinks and eating which showed me that he didn't care at all. Lets just say I had the last word and I will never be going there again and the goes for our entire group!! FYI he informed us the wine was a $60 bottle but when we looked it up it was actually $10 US...says a lot!!!

Mehhhhhh. And overpriced. I bet it's been here a million years, the feeling of being in a nice restaurant is fleeting when you see they store boxes in their wine bar. Not to mention it's in a strip mall. Streetsville is full of many other great restaurants; go to a real steakhouse if you're in the mood to pay 48$ for a steak.

Brought my mother to Cagneys for mothers day. My mum is from Nova Scotia and loves shellfish and has not had good quality shellfish for years. At Cagney's they had a seafood platter for two to share, it had everything! Two huge lobster tails, 1lb of king crab legs and four shrimp scampi, jumbo shrimp beautifully grilled! And we had a choice of potato and vegetables which we chose mashed potatoes. It was amazing! Unbelievable. Everything about it was awesome. To top it off we started with their famous ceaser salad and finished with their signature cheese cake which was delicious! I am a totally foodie and this place hit all my sweet spots! Definitely will be back, there was some prime rib on their menu that was calling my name!

I just ordered Cagney's take out due to COVID and everything was very good. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki dinner for two and it was amazing. I love that the food is good quality and homemade. Yesterday, I orderd the cagneys burger with “Cagneys’s Orignal Cheese Cake”. I have had to many varieties of chese cake but this was the best chese cake I ever had and the burger was awesome super juicy and well cooked. This was my first time going to Cagneys. The ambiance and decor is gorgeous. Their ceasar salad dressing is made from scratch and super YUMMY! I tried the 8oz steak with mashed potatoes and veggies. It was okay, not the best I've had. I also had their cheesecake for dessert. It's decadent, very sweet but also yummy. Our waiter was great, very attentive, and the music was cool. Overall, I had a good time!

My server Kim was AMAZING! She gets a 5 star! What made me leave a 3 star review technically has nothing to do with me or my experience but something I think people should be aware of. My friends and I were standing in the front talking, and the owner and a waitress were standing at the door having a smoke. 2 women came up, intending to go there for a late night dinner (it was around 11 pm on a Saturday night) and they turned them away and said they were closed. On the screen in front of the restaurant it says open until 1 am on Saturday, and online. I know they were empty, but an establishment should stay open until the time that is posted. Again, kudos to Kim, provided me with one of the best services I have ever experienced!

By far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. To begin the evening from hell, the manager asked us to move—no apologies, just simply “Hi, do me a favour and move because I have a large party coming in”. We made reservations a week prior and shouldn’t have been asked to move, especially without an apology. Afterwards he didn’t come once to check on us after we kindly moved for a party that didn’t show up anyway. To add, my fiancé’s food wasn’t put into the system so his food came out when the rest of our group had fully finished our meal. Granted our server offered for it to be on the house, so it was clear that she was trying, which is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars. That being said, I will never be returning. For the fact that our entrees were $50 each, I expect for my needs to be anticipated, instead of us having to pour our own wine and ask multiple times for the simplest things like refills of our water. DO NOT COME HERE!!

First time at this restaurant and will be the last time I eat there. The food was terrible. Chicken was cold and tough, oysters had added salt, not shucked properly, mashed potatoes were lumpy and tasteless. We respectfully complained about quite a few things. I hardly ate the chicken. The surroundings are nicely done, the bar area after dinner was nice and had fun dancing while sipping on a cognac. For any price the food was horrible. Our server was great and did her best and we reassured her this was not about her-she didn't do the cooking. They delayed our main course to give us time between but the food was sitting plated and waiting so they would have been better to bring it right out. They gave us the impression that it would be done fresh. Be wise and sink money into a good chef to make a real go of the change and create a balanced menu that is worth the value.

Very underwhelming and overpriced. My wife and I ordered the Starlight dinner for Valentines Day. We received the wrong order and one steak was overcooked (well done instead of medium rare). One of the dessert orders was wrong as well - ordered 1 tira misu and 1 creme caramel, got 2 extremely watery, curdled creme caramels instead. Not at all worth $96. We have made better steak and desserts at home.

Celebrated my moms birthday there and the food was delicious. The food did take sometime to come out since we had a large party and that was understandable. But regardless the food was outstanding. I think we ordered everything from the menu. Sangria red was outstanding Cocktail shrimp ????, crab cakes and calamari was our starters and we were not disappointed ???? The chef made a special beats salad for my mom because she had it there about 4 yrs ago and it was no longer on the menu, she was so happy that the chef went all out for her. Food was not the best, the service was horrible! Upon seating, the server seem like she had a problem with serving a party of 20 people. I advise her that she should get help. We were being addressed by numbers, and practically everyone, excluding 1 person food was incorrect. No accommodation as to how my guest and I requested our steak to be cooked and the food took really long to come out (over an hour). One of my guest asked to be speak with a manager in regards to receiving the wrong steak. the manager came out, hold the plate and said "this steak is done medium well, it cause of the florescent lights is why you cannot tell". Any who, my guest requested that they cook her steak the way she initially requested. She was told "the kitchen is about to close, she can only get pasta". Honestly, I will not be coming back here! $90 plus tip (which is included due to the party size, each person) isn't worth it. I was definitely better off going to The Keg. Not the best place to come if you are having a party. No one apologized for the service my party and I received. if we requested anything extra, it was a problem. Towards the end, my party and I felt like we were being rushed to leave the restaurant (not sure why they would of booked a reservation at 9 pm if that's the case). Honestly, the service overall was just garbage.

Absolutely recommend this restaurant. What you get..... FABulous menu with too many offerings that suited my palate. After 10 minutes of painful decision-making, I chose the Chilean Sea Bass, which was delicious. 100% recommend the whipped cheesecake (please don't ever stop making this!!). BEAUTiful decor, that is modern and trendy, but still comfortable and homey. In fact, this restaurant would be more at home located in the Toronto's Entertainment District. FRIENDly and attentive wait staff. They did not miss a beat! We had a party of 11, and we were literally treated like royalty! Streetsville is pretty lucky to have a restaurant like this at their heart. Wish we had a Cagney's here in west Oakville.

I came here for a birthday and we were a party of 21! We all ordered steaks and as the meals arrived our steaks were either salty or need salt. 2 of my friend's steaks were cooked wrong and when they told the manager he called them IN THE KITCHEN to show them that its cooked well and that he wont do anything about it. He was extremely rude and unprofessional! I would never go back or recommend it to ANYONE! Also, the waitress INSISTED on cutting the birthday cake and did not mention that she would be charging for it! Awful place, awful service, and an extremely awful manager!

Going to keep these short and sweet! It looks really nice inside, food is ok, was surprised by the steak dish It needed alot more flavour. The waiter took forever to take are orders. For example we order drinks took forever to come to the table and we knew what appetizers we wanted but they never came back until the drinks were ready. Once they came we asked for our appetizers. When we had our appetizers we still haven't placed our entrees and it took so long for them to come back after we where done our appetizers. Usually at other restaurants they take your full order or at least your drinks and appetizers and if you know what entree your having you can place that as well. The pricing is very expensive, If the food was good and the waiting staff was quicker I would have given a higher review but I would definitely not go back.

As everyone already probably knows, the restaurant re-invented itself around 2012 or so. I used to visit quite often prior to that when I lived in Streetsville. The Caesar salad is not the old famous Caesar salad that was the star attraction to Cagneys. The steak and ribs are fantastic, but be prepared for the prices. Worth it, but not a casual dining night out too often. Service was good, but not great. My steak was undercooked at first, which they fixed, but meanwhile my guest had to eat alone. Beautiful job at the renovations and "look" of the restaurant. I just wish they could bring back the Caesar salad.

Got the prime rib with baked potato. The prime rib was supposed to come with au jus, but they put they just put some thick gravy on top of it, which did not allow me to taste the flavour of the beef itself. That being said it was still alright. The potato was dry, with the butter and sour cream not helping that much. Everything could easily be much more flavourful overall.

Went here with my husband for his birthday and got the seafood platter. The food was absolutely amazing!! Our server was also very cool and even brought out a slice of cake with a candle! The restaurant decor is absolutely beautiful and really sets a upscale scenery. We will be back for sure next time we are in the area!

Amazing service and amazing food! We had a a great server who looked after our every request. We had gotten the Calamari, Steak, Chicken Souvlaki, Chicken Penne Pasta and a desert. 3 of us here for family day meal. Thought we’d treat ourselves to a steak dinner. Read the reviews, many say they are pricey but thought they probably won’t be Ruth Chris pricey. They are definitely overpriced for what you get. We had a New York and Peppercorn and a butternut squash ravioli. Food was good enough but not outstanding enough to warrant such prices for a restaurant in a strip mall in Mississauga. My lump of mash that went cold quickly, came with a piece of red pepper, two pieces of asparagus and a slice of zucchini stuck on top of my potatoes. Sad really... Calamari as our appetizer was very fresh but too oily. Steaks were good but on par with the keg and canyon creek. Total for three people with one glass of wine came to 168.00 + tip.

It's worth the drive to Streetsville. Located in an unassuming strip mall, this family owned and operated restaurant prides itself on doing everything at the highest level. From the time you're greeted to the time you leave, there are nothing but smiles from every employee. The decor is upscale modern done right. Comfortable seats with tables large enough to hold your meal without putting too much distance between you and your guests making it an intimate dining experience. The food is superb. Done exactly how you ask without losing the flavour of whatever you've ordered. The appetizers are big enough to be shared and I recommend going hungry, as the mains are filling. The majority of recipes (85% according to them) are family recipes. The restrooms are immaculate, the bar boasts enough screens to carry multiple events and the prices reflect the overall experience you are getting. Highly recommended for any and everyone looking for a great evening out.

If you like: a really salty caesar salad, a mystery as to how your steak will actually be cooked, and paying more than the Keg but getting a food taste and experience barely above McDonald's pre-2016 then this is the place for you. Throw your hard-earned money away and get completely underwhelmed. Candidly, you're better advised to simply go to The Keg in Heartland as you'll be happier and slightly richer for it. In fact, the only thing that Cagney's did well was pair the wine and the salt together such that the wine managed to wash down most of the aftertaste. The caesar was sent back once. Yes, they make their own caesar sauce; no, I don't recommend it. The steak was sent back twice. $140 for my wife and I. Horrible.

Very disappointing to find that they order their beef from the U.S.. When asked why they do this the answer was "it is better beef". I ordered the lamb to avoid the beef. Their prices are over inflated and the food is average at best. Will not return. The food is not worth the price and the fact that they do not order Canadian beef completely turned me off.

Bad experience! I came here with my husband for a date night but we really had a horrible experience from the beginning. 1)The Cesar salad was too salty; waitstaff said they made their own dressing but whoever made the batch pretty much tripled the amount of salt. 2) Ordered Medium Well prime roast but it came a bit on a cold side and was made medium rare. 3) I asked for it to be put back on the grill and took too long and it is unevenly cooked. 4) A fruit fly landed on my water. This place is a just a rip-off. The price is not worth the food and service that you get.

The good: 1) I was able to get a reservation for the patio within 30 minutes on a Saturday night. 2) drinks (mojito) was decent 3) Rockefeller oysters were ok.... not bad The bad: 1) not their fault, but having a $220 meal while sitting in a strip plaza parking lot isn’t ideal. This is of course due to the lockdown measures in place. 2) the steak lacked flavor as did the mashed potatoes. 3) the pescatore pasta is... well, terrible. Pasta is overcooked, sauce tastes like it’s from a can, scallops were overcooked, and the dish overall had a fishy unpleasant flavor to it. Our plates were 60% full when we stopped eating. The waitress (who was super nice) asked if we wanted it to go... no thanks! Overall, my first and last time here. I didn’t get to see the inside but the photos look good. Nonetheless, food is unacceptable. Damage was nearly $220 . Not worth it.

I came here with my Fiancee and about 8 friends for a birthday dinner. It was Monday evening and we were the only diners in the restaurant. The service was absolutely horrible. The waitress was rude, forgot our orders as we had to remind her several times when she would walk by. Considering we were the only diners in the restaurant, I do not understand why it took so long for food to arrive. We did not take them by surprise; we made reservations before coming. They were well informed that 10 people were coming to eat dinner. After 40 minutes of waiting, some bread showed up. Then the food itself took forever as well. When they eventually brought out our dessert, it was 10 minutes to closing, and rudely informed us they were closing. -The food has awkward tastes, the beef smelled funny. The only thing that were good were the oysters. - The cutlery is extremely dirty and used up - food is overpriced for quality -wine is highly overprices as well. will not return to this restaurant again.

My husband and I went on a lunch date to celebrate our engagement anniversary. The ambience is fancy, but the food is top class! I had grilled chicken and the sauce was so rich and good, am still dreaming of it! My husband had fish & chips, nothing exciting about it. However, the creme brulee again was extra-ordinarily good. The manager of the restaurant also had a very aggressive attitude when we complained. The food is great but there's many great places to have food in Toronto I shouldn't expect to be disrespected when paying for an expensive meal. ....................... EDIT: After leaving this review which is just an honest and factual review of the evening the manager came to our table and personally accosted me. He was raising his voice in my face and demanding to know why I left a 1 star review. Dear manager, it is not a crime to post a review. You continued to be extremely aggressive. This is terrible customer service. Instead of apologizing for your behaviour and that of your waitress we were blocked from exiting the restaurant for you to air your grievances. Your behaviour was completely unacceptable. Like I said before there's too many amazing restaurants in Toronto for me to ever give money to this establishment again.

I've been coming to Cagney's since I was a kid. I loved the old Cagney's, and love the new Cagney's even more. The menu is versatile and has something for everyone. The staff is friendly and professional, and very helpful/knowledgeable with the extensive wine list. The renovations give the restaurant a very stylish and modern atmosphere. Overall, 10/10.

We're a group of 8 that has visited Cagney's 5-6 times over the past 3 years. On a few occasions, we've had great meals. I recall ordering their Tomahawk steak once and it was easily in the top 3 steaks I've ever had, and everyone else also had a great meal on that occasion. Unfortunately, our experiences have been either at the positive end of the spectrum or in the complete opposite direction, with 2/3 last outings at Cagney's having been of the "very disappointing" variety. Here's what made yesterday evening's experience for us the last straw: - It took 20 minutes for the server to take our drink order - It took another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. These are the details you remember when the experience is poor. - 4 people ordered the $60 "Cowboy" steak, a bone-in prime rib. I was one of them. On my last occasion, I had ordered the Tomahawk, but everyone else ordered the Cowboy and raved about it, so I went with it. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was that it was rubbery and difficult to cut. I took a few bites and it was very chewy, like a piece of bubblegum, but it tasted OK so I chose to dig into it. The server came by and asked how things were going. We should have said something at this point, but it was so early that we gave our polite nods. After a few more bites, I felt like there was something not right about this steak. I asked the other people who had ordered the same and got these responses: "My steak is terrible." "Mine too --- really bad. It's nothing like the Cowboy we ordered last time." "Agreed. Mine is bad, but not bad enough to complain about." I flagged down the waiter and explained to him that all 4 of us were having a very disappointing steak, citing that it was excessively fatty and rubbery. The responses I received were: "Well, it is a Prime Rib, so it is supposed to be fatty." "I'm really sorry and I wish you had mentioned something earlier." These are the types of responses that will lose customers for a steak house. - When we asked for separate bills at the end, the waiter gave us an eye roll. Really? If it was such an issue for you, why not ask at the beginning of the meal? We have been reasonable, return customers and we don't expect perfection. What we do expect is good value for what we pay, especially from the service. On previous occasions at Cagney's where things have not gone well, there was at least an attempt to make things right. On this night, not only were 50% of our dishes poor and expensive, but the service matched. It's not our first time having a poor service experience at Cagney's, but it definitely will be the last, and here's why: Last week, we were at The Keg at Argentia/Winston Churchill. Our food was significantly cheaper and significantly better. Out of 8 people, 6 had excellent meals, and 2 had mediocre meals. Most importantly, the service was fantastic. Based on our consistently good experiences at places like The Keg and Mondello, there really is no reason to consider Cagney's again.

Last month I made a reservation with Cagney’s for date night. I arrived about fifteen minutes early as my reservation was at 8 PM however to my surprise my table was already ready and waiting for me. The staff was very outgoing, accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Half way through the night, the server brought over champagne, on the house. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. I will definitely be going back for more. Since then, I have been raving about Cagney’s to all my family and friends. March 2014 Food was rated a 1 out of 5 star from the 3 of us who ate there. Waiter was not very knowledgeable and forgot to delivery they things that we did order as well he did not report our complaints back to the chef. Potatoes did not have any salt. I guess the chef forgot the #1 rule in cooking potato, "always add salt while cooking potatoes" The mashed potato had no flavour. The rest of the food served to us was a mediocre and unacceptable to the reputation of this restaurant as we use to know it. The food however was "Decorated" with lots of fancy veggies etc. We were very disappointed with the menu - no lobster tails or other fish dishes. Little pasta dishes (1). The food that we did order was lacking quantity as well as quality. They had a very extensive wine list but expensive. They seem to be trying to cater to a different clientele. Good luck there chef. We knew there would be lots of changes in the menu but we were not expecting such a drastic attitude to the menu. We decided that we will not return to our favourite restaurant for 25+ years unless we see a sign that says "New Chef" "New Menu"

This used to be one of our favorite spots, but our last visit on Tuesday Night wasn't very good. Our first dinner out in over a year! We sat on the patio which was really well set-up. The Mussels are to die for!!! But the steak New York Steak was over cooked... and the loaded potato was hard... We sent it back first because it came out plain... and then the loaded one was just no good. It was hard and dry. Wasn't impressed because this used to be our Go-To steakhouse... Apparently its under new management? The server was wearing his mask well under his nose as well which was disappointing. What's the point? And I wasn't about to call him out on it because the last thing u want to do is tick off your server.

Had an awful experience here for a farewell dinner. Two members of our party had terrible dishes - for the first, the halibut came dry and hard as a rock. When sent back, the chef questioned if the customer had ever eaten halibut before, ten minutes after she had sent back her food. Finally, when her meal arrived again, the halibut was raw. She ended up throwing up in the bathroom because it was so disgusting. Then the other person had hair in her dish, for which they gave her an unsolicited glass of prosecco. She doesn't drink prosecco and it did nothing to solve the problem! When sorting out this fiasco, the staff were generally helpful but were clearly untrained on how to provide acceptable customer service. The owner was incredibly unprofessional and made us wait around for a solution. We waited over thirty minutes after our meal for things to be solved. As an aside, the rest of our meals were okay, but overpriced for what they were, uninspired and heavy handed with cream and butter.

I came here for my 1 year wedding anniversary last night because of the rave reviews my coworkers and friends gave me. Food is excellent And deserves a 5 star rating but the service we were given was terrible. First we were given a booth in the bar even though i specifically requested for the dinning room, (which I didn’t know I was in the bar area as it was my first time) the music was so loud My husband and I couldn’t hear one another which ruined the intimate dinner vibe we were trying to accomplish on our FIRST anniversary. I felt rushed to order my drinks and appetizers as the server came back 3 times within the 2 minutes we’ve been seated. We were not offered our complimentary bread at first because the server didn’t want us to ‘ruin’ our appetites even though we were finished our appetizers . My husband had to request for the bread. Our server spilled water all over my side of the table and covered it with our bread tray!!! After we were finished our dinner I had wanted to order dessert but after waiting 20 minutes for anyone to come to our table I lost my appetite and we just asked for the bill which took another 15 minutes before we could pay. Worst dinner ever for a day that was meant to celebrate something so special fully ruined by the lack of quality in the service we got.

The setting at this place is always nice. I love it. Only thing I would say is that the mash potatoes could be a little creamier and the rib steak a little less burnt. ????

Extremely over priced (8 oz. steak for 34 dollars?!) Not to mention the food was extremely mediocre (slightly under par if you ask me) and some of the cutlery and plates were dirty. I was asked if I wanted flat or sparkling water and I chose flat (tap water) and I was charged 6 dollars. they didn't even fill my cup all the way. I don't recommend this place to anyone as price to taste was not right.

I used to love this place, but I recently took my Nonna there and she noted that her ravioli was raw. At the same visit, my spouse’s beef Wellington was completely burnt on the bottom. The round potatoes that came with it looked like they came out of a bag. When we told our Server (he was tall and male but he did not mention his name), he said it is supposed to be like that and did not offer anything else. If their food is not up to previous standards, they can at least improve their customer service.

Always a great dining experience, I have never left this place disappointed. I've also never arrived without making reservations WELL in advance. Good luck to you if you don't have reservations. Place is handicapped accessible once you get over the doorplate. Washrooms (mens' at least) small, but clean. Food and service are second-to-none. Easily the best bang for the buck in all of the GTA. They used to have an other place out near Guelph, I have passed it but never been to that one. This location in Streetsville has a basement banquet room. I have not been down there, no idea if there is an elevator to get down, have only seen the staircase inside the entrance. If you are looking for a very quiet dining experience, this place isn't it, there is always someone here celebrating a birthday or something. Not yelling or screaming by any means, but there will be singing (Happy B'day) for sure. Be sure to have their Caesar salad, possibly the finest on the planet.

Well, today I made good on paying my losing bet with my Son-in-law; Leafs beat Blackhawks a few months ago for a steak at venue of choice! Aleks chose Cagney’s which didn’t rank on my short list but they have free WiFi. We arrived at 1:20pm and were seated immediately in a large half-moon booth within the dining room, with low lighting and quiet Spanish music. Our server, who didn’t introduce herself, was pleasant and efficient. Our order...$19 Peppercorn 6oz Steak sandwich with home cut fries for me and Aleks selected the 8oz New York Angus Steak with fries and vegetables for $32. Medium-rare was our cooked preference. To celebrate my gloom, two Cameron Amber ales for $7.99 each. Meal preparation was surprisingly quick and it was delicious!!! It was also nice to be able to carry on a conservation while dining without having to compete with the restaurant sound system. We decided not to have dessert as the meal portions were lunch perfect. Upon finishing our lunch, our plates and cutlery were cleared promptly. I requested and received my bill quickly and Ivana, our no introduction server, was rewarded with an 18% tip for a terrific meal experience! Yes, $89.31 is an expensive lunch for 2, but it’s cheaper than getting my daughter back...from my Son-in-law! Debt settlement completed.

This place is terrible. I came here for my 30th birthday and they asked my table to change spots to the corner (I had this reservation for weeks). The waitress forgot my order so I got my dish by the time everyone was done eating. The steak here is terrible. Not once did I get my water refilled. I had to walk over to the bar and ask them to refill our water. Never come here. Also, I asked for my steak rare and it came out well done. After waiting an additional hour for my late plate I gave up and just ate the damn thing. DO NOT COME HERE.

Lived in the neighborhood since 1978 so Cagneys was a place I have been to before. Last time was early 90's, maybe even the 80's. So as some know the place has been renovated in a big way. I went tonight with a friend and we were very impressed. I had the veal parm and it was one of the best ever, even served on the bone. The tom collins was very tasty. My friend had the New york steak and we both thought it was done right and tasted good. The total bill with my 2 drinks was not cheap. We will go again next week.

The place is beautifully decorated and the ambiance is great; however, last nights service was ridiculous. It took nearly two hours to receive 5/8’s of our entrees and another twenty minutes for the remainder; some were a hit and some were a miss. All customers should be a priority, not just the larger group of twenty (FYI). I understand, there is a set amount for gratuity with groups, but this waitress did not deserve the amount she received. We had to share three menus amongst nine people and one drink menu, she barely came to check on us, and drinks ordered took nearly thirty minutes to arrive. That’s all I have and wished this place exceeded my expectations based on the reviews, and it sadly failed.

A hidden gem in Streetsville, Mississauga! I'd seen the ads and had heard of some mixed reviews about Cagneys. My husband and I decided to try it for the first time yesterday for our wedding anniversary. The service and food was impeccable! Our server was attentive and so very pleasant. She was so accommodating. My husband is a bit of a picky eater and she was patient to help him decide on his steak and provide options in terms of the sides and sauces that it could come with. I had the Chicken Peppercorn Supreme Dinner and my husband had an 8oz New York Striploin steak. Both items were cooked to perfection-my compliments to the Chef! We truly loved our experience here and can't wait to come back again! PS - The ambiance is mesmorizing and it's the perfect restaurant to celebrate any occasion!

We have been going to Cagney's for years, but that ended yesterday when we went for lunch. There was only us and one other table; not that being busy is an excuse for poor service in any restaurant. Long story short, service was so slow we ended up walking out after one drink and an appetizer. Had to get up twice to ask where the waitress was. Asked for extra butter and sauce, and she was slow bringing it, slammed it down and walked off without a word, and we hadn't even ordered a second drink or our entrees! Asked for the manager and was told Alex had "stepped out", along with the usual insipid "sorry, guys". Not "Sorry Sir" and "Madam" but "guys" with major attitude. Newsflash, Alex. Your staff needs supervision and yesterday's crew cost you two longterm regular customers, and our average lunch bill is $300dollars.

The girl who answered informed me that the restaurant would and could accommodate my party. This restaurant waited three days before my dinner reservation to cancel on me ... Right after I Invited friends and family. The male who called me seemed very nonchalant and said there was nothing he can do.. I informed him that this was very inconvenient and that I had no other options being that this was last minute. He didn't care. He kept saying that he called me previously to inform me but I did not receive a call or message from this restaurant. If you are looking for a restaurant to spend your money go elsewhere to a place that actually cares about customer service as opposed to a restaurant that double books and than cancels on you last minute. I will never come here ever again, the reaction and response from this so called manager was very unprofessional and distasteful.

Mixed feelings about this place. First time here and the decor is very nice. The music is great the atmosphere is great also. It is a high end decor and setting. Grear dor a date or hanging out with friends. The neighbourhood doesn't give off a matching vibe so we were surprised to find this place here . Anyway the food came out and it needed salt. Not a big deal so you can add salt as needed. Portions are big as you can see from the veal parmesan. The souvlaki was really good also. Some food didn't come out as ordered. Sure we had a big group but they should be capable. The music is very loud so the waitresses don't hear you at all. It is pricey but if the portions stay this big then it's worth it. The steaks were made very well also so I will try them next time. Unfortunately when someone asked to speak to the manager the waitress removed an item from their bill and called it a day. The manager never came though.

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. The food may look good but the taste doesn't match. Our server seemed lost most of the time and we had to wait a long time for each course to arrive and for drinks such as water and wine. You can go to other restaurants and get better food with bigger portions and for a least $10 less than what cagneys is offering. The real killer is the 18% gratiuity for groups of 8 you don't really recieve great service that merits this. They also had live music which was really annoying it was just this guy in the corner playing music and singing loudly, so loudly the server could barely hear you.Also for a steakhouse the steaks were sub par not properly seasoned or cooked properly. Save your money and go elsewhere the food here is mediocre at best with one other good thing on the plate.

Went there for our friends bday dinner and the service was horrible. One of us ordered a med rare steak and when it came out well done and dry she asked them if they could pls make it med rare. They took the steak and brought it to the back and brought it right back out and put it under 1 of their lights and told her it WAS med rare. When she disagreed they took it back and then had the nerve to come back out with the same steak and their chef to tell all of us that it was med rare!? Are u kidding me? This plate is $70! Give the customer what they want and paying for! After all of this, the service went down hill. We got attitude from both servers, felt rushed and when we didnt agree to pay them 18% gratitude the owner came out cursing. It was THE worst service i have ever experienced in my life. Pointing at us and saying "You people!". We didnt receive one apology even after not getting 2 orders wrong. Good luck staying in business with this type of customer service. Pls treat all your customers equally.

We attended here on August 10, for my birthday, and received what I can only term as "royal treatment". Warren, our server, was attentive with a sense of timing that was extremely professional. After tasting my Mojito, which was superb, we complimented the bartender, through Warren, who arranged for her (Sherry) to attend at our table so she could personally receive our accolades. While there, we gave her a challenge for someone so young to make a vintage drink called a Scarlett O'Hara. She was up for it and prepared one that was very close to what I wanted. As for the meal - perfection is the only thing I can say. And, my dessert was free (Creme Brulee ) it came complete with a candle. All in all a wonderful dining experience.

I came here for a birthday party and ordered a plate. The plate had bacon in it. The server knew that we don't eat pork. When we mentioned it to her . She was very unprofessional . She said the manager needed to talk to us in the kitchen. Then the manager said all he can do is remove the bacon from the plate and give us the plate back. The plate was 80$ and I feel like I was disrespected . They didn't respect my religion and did not understand that I can't actually continue eating this plate and did not care. This is by far the worst handling I have seen by a manager. I will never come back here. I wish I could put 0 star.

Never judge a book by its cover! Outside, the restaurant does not look nice at all. It is located near an old plaza with other small shops around it. Inside the restaurant was very chic and modern — it was beautifully decorated. I have been here for lunch and dinner and still received great service. I would recommend coming here for birthday reservations or a nice dinner date!

1) the place is beautiful 2) the waiter was very friendly and helpful 3) the drink I had was great! The waiter recommended it 4) the lobster was ok but it was HUGE. I prefer red lobster though 5) a bit on the pricier side
