This market is pretty good in terms of the selection of meat, deli, bakery and olive/seafood bar. I wouldn't recommend the fruit/vegetable section due to the price and selection. Other than that, there are really good choices of products here!

Since moving to the neighbourhood 7 years ago, this had become are most frequented market. We still go to a big grocery store for some things, like dry goods, but when it comes to items like deli and meat, you just can't beat the quality. They also have some great fresh baked chocolate danishes that are amazing. The pizza dough is perfect and makes homemade pizza so much easier and tasty.

I have always chose the Fruit Market as the only place I ever buy Ribeye Steaks or Prime Rib Roasts because the value and quality was always great. I just moved to Oakville last week but made the trip back to Mississauga today for some steaks only to find out that they are now among the price gougers out there through this crisis. The roasts and steaks were always priced the same $6.99 lb. The roasts are still priced at $6.99 lb but they have since raised the steaks to $15.99 lb. For a steak that would normally cost me between $8-$10 today cost me over $20.00 each. Sad to say but I guess I am now looking for a new place to buy my meat. This is NOT how to treat your fellow man in a time like this. Shame on you Fruit Market!!!

It's a quaint and unique supermarket that sells a variety of products including some cooked foods. Some items seem appetizing, but honestly, after seeing some of the staff handle the food, it threw me off. During the covid pandemic, mandatory masks were required indoors. Seeing some of the staff themselves take their masks off was troubling. Seeing the store let a customer walk in and totally ignore and continue to serve the customer even more troubling. Otherwise, the store isn't bad.

I actually do most of my shopping here and only go to the supermarket to buy odds & ends... except prosciutto ends, which I also buy here. Quality is excellent, prices at the deli and meat counter are pretty hard to beat, especially after you take the quality into account.

Gotta be the 'go-to' place for dairy & produce in Mississauga (I'm a vegetarian, so I obviously can't comment on their meats & seafood). Walked in on a lark one day and walked out with the best eggs I've had in a long while, not to mention the only decent store bought tomatoes I can remember buying. Seriously, that in and of itself is pretty amazing...you can never find decent tomatoes but their Mennonite tomatoes were out of this world. Very reasonable prices as well, especially considering the quality.

I shop at several fruit markets all within a mile of my house. Burnhamthorpe fruit market is by far the best and my favorite. Great quality. Their prices are very good and they have great sales that let you stock up on staples like pasta, pasta sauce, juices and canned meats as well as fresh meats, deli counter items and of course fruits & vegetables. They have an excellent selection of fruits and vegetables. I tend to try new things and unusual recipes and they usually tend to have what I need. There have been a few times when I had so go elsewhere for stranger more unusual items (purple potatoes, kurrat, salsify...). They have a nice deli section that carries nearly everything you could want for. They run the gamut from typical American fare to Polish and Mexican traditional foods. Buy ready made guacamole or fresh salsa, homemade sausages or fresh mozzarella boules. They have a fresh bread area. You can find submarine rolls, bolillos, kaiser rolls, fresh focaccia, regular French bread, Italian bread and an assortment of those fancy French rolls. They also have regular groceries in aisles. They have a lot of specialized Spanish and Polish,Croatian, Italian items that you can't find. I love getting the Polish soup bases. I only wish that they carried a few more Asian items. They make feeding your family easier and more affordable. I'm glad to have them in my neighborhood.

Beware of the discounted vegetables on the shelf, most of them will be moldy, rotten and not suitable for human consumption. When my mom who has been a food inspector for decades tried to speak with the manager about this issue he denied it, refused to let her show him the terrible state of the veggies and fruits on the shelf and took her to the exit door and offered her an apple!!!!! (Not sure if that is being rude or nice or if it is some cultural act of some meaning ! But for me it is ultimate rudeness). Last year i wrote the review below and gave 5 stars but this behaviour is disappointing! And as soon as a store starts compromising its quality and customers respect, it starts losing! I will give the other polish store in the same plaza a try, they have almost the same products! "Amazing high quality European products epecially cheeses,milk and charcuterie. The butcher is the best!"

It was disgusting and must have been sitting out there for quite some time because this product typically does not spoil fast. Be careful buying "fresh" products!

Overall the fruit and vegetables are not the best quality. Prices are on the high side for what you get on a quality basis. The pastries are good. Good selection at the deli. They have farm fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables. Great selection of ice creams and frozen food.

This is a great store, which we regularly shop at for nearly 9 years. Some items are slightly more expensive than other stores, but most items I regularly buy are cheaper and are of MUCH better quality than other stores. I love their cheese selection, the meats are locally sourced and are of very good quality. Best place to buy ground chuck for burgers. In the fall this is the best place to buy farm fresh apples, they have at leadt 10 varieties of local apples.

High quality vegetables, greens and fruits, especially apples which seems to be some of the best in all area. Also great deals on tomato paste, panettone, olives and other Italian products. Bread is amazing there and so is the meat and deli counter. One thing I don't get there though: every time staff gets new people. Either they scare their employees and they run away or they are only keeping the ones who can face the stress at the job.

The shortbread cookies here taste really good! Soft and buttery, they just melt in your mouth! Good selection of bakery items as well: I like their blueberry danishes and I've heard the apple pies are really good too. The vine leaves are really good, and they have garlic olives which I like as well (although they are very salty!) I usually rinse them about 3-4x before consuming. They used to sell BBQ Turkey sausages but no longer, so that's a dissapointment; otherwise it's a great place to shop locally.

Best "small town" feel grocery store Has the best bread selection- if you come early! Choc. croissants are very good. Savory pastries are very good as well. Deli and Meat selection is wonderful- best steaks in town for a reasonable cost. Just tried the "smoked salmon" WOW! Rate it 2nd in the city! Overall- friendly, reasonably priced, great quality. A store that has been around for years and years!

Its still a great store, but wanted to put 3 star to hopefully draw attention of owners that the meat quality went down from 5 to 3. The steak prices only going up, it they are not AAA. They are AA. Something changed 2 years ago and nice, tender, melt in mouth steaks turned into chewy low quality cuts.

Great little market with fresh meat and a decent produce section. They also sell freshly baked goods (blueberry pie is amazing!). My only complaint is that they are only practising social distancing at the cash. It's a very small space and crowded. They should be limiting the amount of people going into their space. NOT Covid-19 compliant AT ALL, by far the worse business I've been into since the pandemic started. Went in today, one staff member stocking shelves right beside the checkout lane with no mask. A second person, a young fellow that I assume was the owner's family was running around the business with no mask while blowing air through his lips making "motor boat" noises (no doubt spraying spittle about). Yet another staff member stocking fruit with her mask on her chin. Total shame - I won't be returning. Wondering why the Ministry hasn't been in, I see in reviews that this isn't the first complaint.

I bought 8 bushels of tomatoes and had 1 1/2 of waste because they put good tomatoes on top. I called and asked to talk to the manager and was told Mark wasn't in, i called two more times and finally talked to mark who told me i did the whole tomato sauce thing wrong this is why the tomatoes were so rotten, I've been making tomatoes for 40 years. After that excuse didn't fly he told me the hot weather and rain made them rot so fast and they do not make money on tomatoes and he is not the store manager but only the meat manager so he couldn't help me. there is more to this but i just gave the short version i do not think you need anymore painful BS that i got. .

I have been shopping here for over 15 years. The produce is exceptional, the store is awesome, and the service is unparalleled. Mark cares about his customers and aims to please. He's always available to chat and shoot the breeze, no matter how busy. This is an amazing find in the suburbs, usually the land of over-sized anonymous stores that have everything except a soul. These days, I don't even refer to it as Burnhamthorpe Fruit Market, I always say something like "I will stop and see if Mark has that in stock." And that's saying a lot.

Great hidden gem.....everything is of #1 quality and priced totally reasonably. The best Rib Steaks in Missisauga, I just wish they also would cut some of them inch and a half size too for the BBQ season !!!!

Nice selection of fruits and vegetables. Mostly of good quality and fair prices with some really good deals. They also have baked goods with breads and pies, and a meat section which I did not have time to check out.

My star rating does not reflect the quality of the food they sell. It is good and fresh. The rating reflects on the lack of proper Covid hygiene. The handles on the grocery carts are not sanitized neither are the hand carts. There are no hand sanitization stations at the exit. Some of the aisles are so crammed with products that one has to wait for another person to leave in order to get their product. Do not go shopping during the weekend but rather during the week. Check their open hours before going there.

I go here for the absolutely awesome store made soppressata and sausages, as well as cuts of fresh meat. The deli has a great assortment of meats, and there is a hot bar, where one can get various lunches. Staff are very nice, and helpful.

These are the kinds of stores I like shopping at not gigantic but an excellent selection especially fruits and vegetables and always high quality, good meat selection as well. However a couple of guys that were working there should keep their private angry conversations to themselves and not for everybody to hear.

Like this store. Maybe a bit pricy but they have good products from Europe. Feel like a little European store. Different kind of breads (and at a good price) and good croissants. The employees are always nice. Never had a bad comment from them. They are always efficient.

Good quality reasonably priced local products. We get all our meat from their butcher. They claim to sell meat free of hormones and anti biotic. Their meat tastes so fresh, a huge difference from big chain stores. We get their Mennonite eggs and tomatoes. Eggs are huge, free of hormones and anti biotic, slightly cheaper than ceritified organic ones, worth the price. Tomatoes taste real, sweet and delicate. No waxy tough skin like those from big chains. We love them even though they may look irregular and bruise easily, so we handle them with care. One time they overcharged for an on-sale item. One week later I returned to request an adjustment. The owner willingly honoured the credit with no fuss. I am happy with their customer service and staff. I am glad to return every week with their fresh products.

Lets start off wth the hours of operaton......every day of the year except Christmas Day....that includes Labour Dat, Easter and Thanksgiving....much apprecated. Top notch butcher counter....very accomating with what you need and want......A1 Prime Rib and Italian sausages. Always try new frut when you see it....especally brands of apples....absolutely amazing flavors Excellent selection of cold cuts and cheeses....but....student staff should always be backed up by a senor staff....makes for easier servce....Cold cuts should be checked in the mornng so that customers do not receive nferior product.....Gave up on bringing it back when a couple tmes two years ago I was literally yelled at by who i take to have been the supervisor( she is no longer there). Service is much better now...... ......
