New coffee shop and more, Bodega by Grace Restaurant is the second bookend to the theme that co-owner and Executive Chef Angela Murphy and partners envisioned when she opened her celebrated restaurant Grace located on the corner of Dundas and Clarence Streets.
Bodega a word borrowed from the Spanish language means "storeroom or wine cellar or local grocer" is indeed precisely what this store is. A perfect companion establishment to Grace Restaurant and proudly celebrating and highlighting locally sourced produce and merchandise of the finest quality. 99% of what you find here is local and or at the very least provincial. The term "Coffee shop" is merely a gateway word for what one can expect to find here ... there is much, much more.
Perusing the wares you will come across a broad assortment and selection of foodstuff from daily baked in house breads and pastries to locally sourced organic vegetables as well as regional/provincial dairy products, artisanal sodas, fruit drinks, roasted coffee beans, cooking oils, pastas, salts, teas, sauces, sardines, crackers and crips, honey, potato crisps, popcorn kernels, trail mix, canned vegetables and fruits for garnishing, spices, pastes, dips, flavoured waters, cocktail bitters, craft beers, ciders and wines from Niagara Falls. To provide a full list of what one can find here would be longer than the word count allows so it's best to visit in person.
Impressively styled and structured the interior of the store reveals a tastefully and thoughtfully designed layout that best displays everything on offer, is easy on the eye and keeps one intrigued and curious. This is a store meant to provide a memorable experience.
A visitor will surely want to purchase not just one but several items to improve one's pantry. Perfect place to buy a gift for a BFF, significant other, or favourite relative.
And yes one can also enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Bodega is worth every minute and penny one spends in it. The staff is enthusiastic, professional and attentive. I highly recommend a visit. I rarely give 5 star reviews but this is an exception to that rule.
