Nice restaurant, well located, the staff is very friendly and professionnal, good service. However the quality of meat was not good enought for the price... The 38 $ Ribsteak was hard to cut and chew even if the cook was ok ... The vegetables were not cooked enought, the all dressed patato has been made really fast, not cooked enought inside, burnt outside ... It was "ok" . Overall we loved the place but we will not go there to eat steak again.

I went to this restaurant recently while i was on my trip to Montreal. I had so much fun at this restaurant, the ambiance was incredible as was the service. We all ordered the the brie fondant, it was amazing. We also all ordered the filet mignon with Lobster tail, this plate was the best meal i have ever eaten in my life, the steak was cooked a perfect medium and the Lobster was amazingly seasoned.

Service was impeccable, food was nothing special, especially for the price. Several items not available: no crab cakes, no bitters for my drink. Ceasar salad was garbage: bottled dressing, no bacon, iceberg lettuce. It says "steakhouse" in the name and there are only 2 cuts of steak to choose from (filet mignon and NY strip), no ribeyes or T-Bones. Had the prime rib, it was meh... I've made better myself. You can get a WAY better meal, for much less, elsewhere.

Edit 2021/09/11 Just came back and I confirm it was still very good. NY Steak and rib steak we're cooked medium to perfection. Service A+ prices a bit on the high end but you get what you pay for. After reading a lot of conflicting reviews, I decided to bite the bullet and try and this place didn't disappoint. Service was A1. For people who say it's slow, it wasn't and I'd rather them taking the time to prepare our meal properly than going to fast and taking the risk of not preparing properly. I asked for medium rare and as you can see, spot on. The crust was there and it was tender and flavorful. The fries, vetetables and sauces were all great. The clam chowder soup was also very good. No complaints here and honestly, I'm debating how this place compares to the big names, for the price, I'd say it's up there. Will go again, good job guys!

As for me, it was the lamb chops and I honestly admit that they were sublime. Only negative point, the plate was not hot and the fries were from lukewarm to cold. The presentation of the plate leaves something to be desired, but the quality of the meat makes us forget this detail. In short, I still really enjoyed my visit. Will I be going back? Certainly! Dès la commande passée, nous avons reçu nos plats dans les 10 minutes suivantes. Deux ont commandé la côte de bœuf et ont grandement apprécié la qualité de la viande et la cuisson parfaite. Quant à moi, c'était les côtelettes d'agneau et j'avoue honnêtement qu'elles étaient sublimes. Seul point négatif, l'assiette n'était pas chaude et les frites étaient de tièdes à froide. La présentation de l'assiette laisse à désirer, mais la qualité de la viande nous fait oublier ce détail. Bref, j'ai quand même réellement apprécié ma visite. Est-ce que j'y retournerai? Assurément!

This is one of my favorite steakhouses in the North Shore. Their prices are at par to moderate when compared with most high end steakhouses. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The steaks are cooked as requested. They also provide other meal choices for those who may not want a steak or have a set budget but still want to enjoy great food and a cordial contemporary ambiance. To date they have been consistent with their quality service and professionalism.

Sterling’s Steakhouse is definitely a 5 star restaurant. I have eaten there several times and the food has been delicious each time. The appetizers are great especially the French Onion Soup. In addition, the Seafood Pasta and Filet Mignon are phenomenal. The food is only complimented with the amazing service. My friends and I had Stephanie serve us last time and we were extremely pleased with how great her service was. The food came out in a reasonable time and she made sure we had everything we requested plus more. Thank you again Sterling’s Steakhouse for such wonderful experiences. I look forward to dining with you in the near future.

Same as another review. Seafood platter was fantastic and worth the $$ but the steak was very bland and we had medium rare and there was almost no blood at the bottom of the plate and lacked taste. I've never had a filet mignon that tasted this bland and oddly dry for medium rare the same was to be said about the chicken in the salad, was really dry and felt like cardboard, we did get a replacement one which was seared with some sort of sauce but unfortunately still tasted dry and bland. Service was fantastic and waitress did her best. I will however come back for the fish options on their menu. I would have rated higher if their steak reached expectations considering it's their main attraction. I urge the owner to please look into this issue as it is stated with a previous reviewer and would definitely change my mind and rate it 5 star.

Please don’t ever eat here for your own personal health and safety! I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and we had a horrific experience. Our waitress did not speak one word of English and was extremely rude to us once she discovered we were Anglophone, the food quality was below average (the crab cakes) especially for the prices and finally the most DISTURBING part was finding a piece of GLASS in my burger meat! I took one bite of my food and instantly felt a sharp piece of broken glass in my mouth. I was terrified. Clearly someone in the kitchen broke something near the serving area and rather than throwing away the food, someone made the disturbing decision to serve it to paying customers. I was sickened and completely disgusted. The manager was apologetic and acknowledged the issue, he seemed embarrassed and offered to give us dessert or replace the meal, however we had already been so shaken up by the event that we decided to leave. The manager understood and told us we did not have to pay for our meals. Oh and the best part was when we decided to leave the restaurant because we had had enough after speaking to the manager and he comp’d our bill, the horrible waitress tried to accuse us of dining and dashing because she did not communicate with him or us ONCE throughout the entirety of our meal. This was laughable, offensive and an embarrassing way to treat clients who have already been completely turned off by your business. They should be disgusted by their service and the staff that the hire and by the way it is a basic skill in Quebec to communicate bilingually and serve clients in both French and English, just as I do at my job and everyone else doesn’t in this city! Be very careful going to Sterlings! I never would have expected to have this experience seeing as the reviews were fairly decent however, they clearly do not follow health and safety basic precautions and you will be very disappointed.

I ordered the prime rib with mashed patatoes and a side order of.mushrooms. the mushrooms were by far the best part of that meal. The road beef was poorly cut and was 1 1/2 inches thick at the bone and less than 1/2 inch at the other end. A triangle. The cut that was thick was medium rare and tasty and the other end was well done and tough. All in one piece of beef. The mashed patatoes were poorly mashed and lumpy and to add insult to injury my coffee was full of grains. We were a party of 4 the other 3 had better meals but nothing exceptional. The prime beef is to be avoided. Expensive bill for a modest quality meal.

Voici quelques remarques: - Pour le plat d’escargot comme entrée, il y avait trop de fromage et pas assez de beurre à l’ail. - le carré d’agneau était succulent malgré le fait qu’il avait été demandé médium alors qu’il a été servi saignant. Légumes d’accompagnement servis toutefois un peu tiède. - Le rôti de bœuf était parfait mais les légumes d’accompagnement ont été servis un peu tiède. Un petit réchaud avant d’être servi aurait été apprécié. -La crème brûlée était parfaite. - Le café était excellent Malgré ces quelques remarques, je vous donne malgré tout 4 étoiles.

It was our first time there and definently not our last. Family dinner with our kids 12 and 9 years old. No kids menu, but it was fine. Everything we ordered was great... crab cakes, sliders, sirloin steak, baby back ribs and grilled shrimps, all perfectly cooked. Homemade Keylime pie....amazing. To top it off, great service from our waitress Emilie who super polite, helpful and constantly checked up on us. Highly recommended.

Start off with the positive: probably the best French onion soup I've ever had and full disclosure, they did take the steak off my bill, and the bartender was super sweet, but... The most terrible steak and sides. Ordered medium rare, got medium, nbd, but the steak had absolutely no flavor. It was not seasoned, was super tough, grisly and chewy. Sometimes the sides save the steak, not here. The mashed potatoes were lumpy, flavorless and super dry. The vegies were over steamed and unseasoned. I think the barback made my first martini, which was mostly vermouth and had no olive juice (ordered a dirty). My 2nd martini was excellent. So, all in all, go for the soup, skip the steak...

Overall nice restaurant, good food reasonably priced with comparable restaurants. The issue is with their customer service. I have been going there since they opened many years ago. In the last couple of years, have been going on a regular basis, 2 to 3 times a month especially in summer. Always at the Bar side. The owner-son recognizes us, but never acknowledges our presence. A smile, or quick Nice to see you, or thanks for visiting would be appreciated. When there was a Maitre D (Phil) he would always stop by at the table and chat a few moments, letting us know our patronage was appreciated. Unfortunately, he no longer works there, and no one seems to look after the patrons. The owner takes very good care of his personal friends and family, but doesn,t seem to appreciate regular customers. Too bad, I am now looking for some other restaurant where they can appreciate regular customers, and where I spend my money and feel appreciated as a customer. There are lots of other restaurants in Centropolis who appreciate my patronage.

We stumbled upon this place after a day's skiing in the Laurentians. Our party of 6 were warmly welcomed and were properly seated. The food was amazing. I had the best lamb chops ever and the rest of the party enjoyed their servings. We were well served by Alexandra who catered well to our needs and made the experience quite enjoyable. Toutes les cuissons étaient adéquates, mais rien d'exceptionnel pour le goût du steak. Pour ce qui est des légumes grillés, il n'étaient aucunement assaisonnés... pour une assiette à 48$, c'est vraiment décevant. We went to celebrate our anniversary, my bday and nameday there today. Very nice ambiance, our waitress was sweet, and the filet mignon was good! Cooked just to my liking. Thank you to our waitress (I forget her name, I blame the wine)for making me feel a little extra special by putting a candle on my dessert when I oh so casually mentioned it was my bday, anniversay, nameday celebration!

I have eaten here twice. Each time I had high expectations. I envisioned this restaurant as a high-end steakhouse. A place to come for an excellent steak. Unfortunately, both times I have been disappointed. It’s pricey. And I understand that with restaurants, you are paying for the experience and not necessarily for the food. In this case, I thought the food was below average. I will give credit where it is due. The seafood platter for two is a very good appetizer. Very fresh and full of flavour. However, on both occasions, my steak was very bland. Most recently, I tried the sirloin steak. It lacked flavor, the meat was tough, it was full of nerves. It just seemed like a bad cut of meat. I love a good steak. I am a horrible cook yet I could make a much better steak on my own. I went back a second time hoping I would have better luck. I am not going back here for a third time. It’s way too expensive for an ordinary steak. Ordinary is being generous. Maybe I will go back for the seafood platter. The quality and the value of that item is far superior to the value of their steaks.

Horrible experience due to the waitress that served us. She was frigid and snobby. She did not even thank me for the 17% tip that I gave her. How rude can you get???? I would have probably gotten the same reaction from her if I hadn't tipped her! The food was somewhat decent, the rib steak was completely tasteless! Way too expensive...basically we paid for the decor and not the quality of food! Do yourselves a favor and go to THE KEG! The service is always pleasent and the steaks are to perfection!
