Best subs in Montreal! Could be a bit hard to find if you are not from the area but it’s a great place to grab a sub. I recommend the Supreme, steak/pepperoni, and the sausage sub. They got decent poutines and hotdog too. Also you need to pay cash but don’t use their atm as it has high fees.

This place used to be a lengendary italian sausage submarine restaurant,it build it's reputation on the quality of that sub.But i went recently(March 2020)and they have changed the sausage in the sub. You can't even call it sausage anymore!!I was so dissapointed ,i had even broight 2 friends so they could enjoy it but!!!

Very friendly staff, quick / responsive service... I was even offered a refill on my pepsi while the waitress was walking by. An uncommonly pleasant experience. So much so that I feel like a heel for making a critique but it's intended to be constructive. I ordered a steak sub, which was tasty but I took one bite as a sandwich, put it down and used a fork and knife to just eat the filling. The bun was heavy and hard. In a city with so many great bakeries, the primary 'ingredient' of any sub is a light, airy and crispy bun! If I could get that same sub on a Bahn-Mi bun, then we'd be talking! Don't take my nitpicking as a reason not to eat here. I'll be back.

Not what it used to be , the meat was not the same in the sub and was mostly vegetables in the non fresh bun , their hot sauce has changed ,poutine sauce is standard , people working there should smile more often instead they look like they are working a 12 hours shift

One of my work colleagues brought me here for the first time. It looked like any other cafeteria. It was not until I tried their special dish, the Italian sausage submarine sandwich that I could understand why montrealers prefer this restaurant with more than 35 years of friendly service. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff. You better order your sub with fries and soda.

Very cheap on the pepperoni portion in the Steak and Pepperoni sub, barely imperceptible. If I wanted a Steak sub, that’s what I would’ve ordered. Cheap on the fries portion as well; fries that were also soggy.

Best poutine in NDG and speedy takeout service! I ordered a small poutine and 7" sausage sub for pickup about 10 minutes in advance (saying I would get there soon). By the time I got there, my order had already been packed! The gentleman behind the counter also reminded me to hold the package upright so the poutine wouldn't spill. By the time I got home about 20-30 minutes later, the poutine was still hot, and the curds had melted (just how I like it). The fries were brown and not too soggy and the poutine ingredients well-balanced. Overall, it was the best poutine I've had in NDG. The sub's bread was a little hard, but that could be due to not eating it right away. I also found the sausage not seasoned enough, though the coleslaw and chili oil were divine and added flavor to it. In the future, I plan on trying the sausage sub and poutine with friends when Momesso is again open for sitting down.

the only non-5 star rating is from a vegan ... who gave 3 stars (not sure if that is good or bad). in any case, this is possibly one of the most authentic, delicious restaurants in a landscape of amazing food. simple, delicious, fresh. real science healthy, not pop-science healthy. good protein, a bit of carbs, some crazy delicious hot sauce. no leafy veggies. delicious honest food. enjoy.

tasty subs, very pricey. Prices are definitely not justified. Not sure what all the hype is about. Place looks run down. In a basement. Everything is old and dated and not the kind of dated that's cool. Waitress was suuuper nice though !

Amazing sandwiches. Great customer service too. Called in the morning for a big order for 20 people. The lady on the phone had no problem taking the order and made no mistakes. Showed up on time at 12PM to pick it up and it was all ready. We even got a mason jar of the hot sauce which is delicious. Will be going back for sure.

A Montreal and NDG institution. Their Italian sausage subs are one of the best original sub sandwiches to can get in the city, there isn't really anything else like it that I know of. Very tasty, very filling. Homemade hot sauce for the subs is a ground hot vegetable mix, again quite original, word to the wise it is pretty potent and perhaps best ordered on the side. The location dors have some issues for parking, especially if you go at lunchtime on a Friday, evenings are usually a little quieter. The location is clean, has many large screen TVs showing sports and they have beer on tap. Definitely something every Montrealer with their salt have tried at least once. I used to live a 2 minute walk away, now much further away and I still go.

What's fun about Momesso's is that it's an excuse to eat subs and onion rings for dinner (which I do not usually do). The onions rings were awesome (portion is a little small for the price) and the veggie sub was pretty good... would have been better with a little more seasoning, but it was still good, our waitress was so lovely and attentive, and I would go definitely go back.

Their subs are great. I haven't had such a good one in a long time. I had the steak and pepperoni one. It was filled with steak that was really tasty and tender. The dressing did not make the bread soggy at all and it had a slight kick. The fries were well done yet not greasy or burnt. Bravo.

I won't write a large review, although it seems they need some improvements. I've heard many good things about this place and it's been at this location for a long time. I enjoyed the old school environment and the the overall feel to the restaurant. The reason for the two stars is the prices seem a bit steep for a submarine and on top of that I ordered my sub at 9pm and it tasted quite off. From the lack of dressing to the firmness of the sausage. I was pretty sad, but I'm sure it was just the time of day, right???

Come here to get subs the size of Sergio's skates. Delicious and tasty, this is my preferred sub in this area. Otherwise, there's standard pub foods. A lot of seating inside. The restaurant is located down a few stairs (so not wheelchair accessible) and it can be easy to miss it you aren't looking for it. Street parking only. Oh and their hot sauce is yummy!!!
