Absolutely love it here. Beautiful location, the wines are great, and the staff are so friendly!
One of my favourite smaller wineries in Niagara. The staff is friendly and fun. The wines are nice to drink, and some of John's finer wines are a delight to drink. I would definitely recommend this winery.
Beautiful place, will definitely go back!
Good wine at a great price
Fantastic service, beautiful patio and delicious rosé.
The wine is quite fine and the cider is delish. The 1812 red or white are our favourites. The service has been exceptional and delivery to the house is prompt. Thomas is very friendly and helpful when putting in order requests. I love the "Weekender" and the various other packages that include wine, cider, and thoughtfully paired snacks to accompany the drink. We're looking forward to our first wine club delivery.
Great, easy to drink wines.
amazing wine, great prices and deals! friendly staff helping me to find what I'm looking for :)
Outstanding wine! Wish they were available at LCBO
Such a beautiful place and amazing wine! A little gem!
Tried the Lakeshore series, loved all three, bought a bottle of each to bring home. Check these folks out!
Definitely worth a visit! The Savage Brut Sparkling is a must!
Did a tasting outdoors on the patio and took home a bottle of the lakeshore red. Delicious! Staff were very helpful in educating us on the different wines we had.
Beautiful atmosphere! Great wine!
My husband and I visited here on our 10th Anniversary Wine Tour. It was our first stop and a great way to start the weekend. The patio is open and beautiful - they allow dogs! No kitchen, but they have snacks. The hostesses are amazing. I highly suggest you put this Winery on your list to visit.
Great place and customer service. Knowledgeable staff. Great overall vibes.
THE conisseur was such a wonderful man yi show us various wines and their specificalities:)
????????????????
Riesling is perfect
This place is frequented by regulars for many different reasons. Palatine Estate Winery is historic as it is one of the oldest vineyards in Niagara on the Lake. Tours guided by a very professional and knowledgeable wine makers, are free and they offer many different wines for tasting. One of the most valuable product of Palatine Hills Estate Winery is their ice wine.
My girlfriend and I did a few days in Niagara region last summer. We explored 4 wineries during our time there and this was by far our favourite! The winery itself has a beautiful patio with a view of the vines. The inside is very clean and rustic looking - somewhat resembling a craft brewery style. We tried a few wines and our favourite was hands-down the Riesling (but they were all really good). So I decided to put in an order to support local during these lockdowns. The office was very responsive and helpful over email, and shipping only took 1 day! Thank you Palatine!
Have been buying wine from Palatine for a few years now. It doesn't matter if I want to rush in and buy a case and be on my way (as was the case yesterday) or whether I want to sit down and savour a glass or 2. It's always a great fun but professional experience. Their Lakeshore wines are superb.
I rarely leave review but this one was worth a review. Loved the place! We went for wine tasting to a few winery few weekends ago and Palatine Hills was by far our favourite. The ambiance is trendy without being snobby or pretentious, the staff if friendly and helpful, the prices are great, the wine is good. I will definitely go back there next time i am in the area. Loved it!
Delicious wines . I’ve tried the red blend , cab-sauv and the cab-franc . All were great . My fave was can - franc and my husband loved the Red 1812 blend . My daughter loved the Riesling. I’m not much a white drinker but I sipped it and it was tasty . Looking forward to picking up more .
Loved our visit!! Had so much fun, staff was incredible.
????my family and I have decided to award this winery worst in customer service and accessibility for the elderly and disabled.???? We have been on vacation in Niagara looking for a winery where we can buy a sample and then make a purchase of a glass (or bottle) to enjoy in there surroundings during the nice weather. This venue informed us we could only have a sample if we drank it standing at the bar or we could sit on a high bar stool. With family physically disabled using walking aids we said .. cannot do this we would like to sit on the bench seats you have available only steps away ... no came the response. If we wanted to sit on a seat that was accessible to elderly and disabled members of the family we had to purchase glasses of wine without the option to try out which one we liked... something afforded to the able bodied. There was no accommodation, no empathy. Fine we left. $$our money taken elsewhere.
Small simple winery with some surprisingly good wines. Not a very impressive facility but friendly knowledgeable staff.
Our wine tasting host was knowledgeable and attentive. Good winery visit.
Pet friendly! Most places we were looking to taste wine at weren't pet friendly. . (Other 3 pet friendly wineries were Small talk, konzelman, and pilliteri) This winery allowed us to bring our small dog into the wine tasting area which was nice as pilliteri winery didn't allow this. It was kind of quiet in there and not very busy, but the people were friendly.
We just had the BEST experience: chilling on a patio, wine tasting, drinking FANTASTIC wine ????and listening to music with great acoustics. Patio is newly renovated and expanded to three times the size. Staff are great! Special shout-out to Stephanie! So many delicious wines, our favorite red is the "Meritage". We bought 4 bottles. Can't wait to go back for more!
Went to this winery in the Fall. It looked cute and we decided to check it out. We sampled some wines and loved every single one of them that we left with a case of the lakeshore red which has become our number one wine. The only mistake we made was not buying two cases because we went through the first one pretty quickly. Can’t wait to be able to go back and buy more.
Helpful and d knowledgeable staff, no pressure or restrictions. A fun tasting experience, and you'll always come away with a few "Lakeshore" reds and whites.
Their reds are out of this world! Such a unique winery experience. It’s a must visit!! They have a little store where you can buy cheese and things to build your own charcuterie board to enjoy while you sip your wine. The site used to be a soldier camp in 1812 and there is memorabilia displayed inside that was dug up from the site while they were excavating and planting. Listed as one of the top haunted wineries in the Niagara Region. Thanks to Stephanie, David and Ryan for the stellar hospitality. Trust me, go visit. You’ll love it. Oh! And their patio is dog friendly too.
I recently started working in the wine industry in 2018 and Palatine was one of the first wineries I ever went to. My partner and I were served by Jordan who gave me some great suggestions to begin my journey through Niagara wine country (I still keep the map for reference!). My favourite wine of theirs is Lakeshore White (granted, I like sweet white wines so this one is right for me!). What really makes Palatine great though are the staff members- always helpful and polite, no matter who is working that particular day. :-)
Very good wines at a great price point
Decent wines at a great price point. Certainly good value for your money. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Great priced wine and super friendly staff
Best winery of the weekend! Loved the property, wine, snacks, and especially the people of Palatine. You can tell they love what they do and where they're at. Ashley was amazing - great recommendations and sense of humor. She even remembered us the next day when we went back to pick up more wine. Can't wait to go back!
Simple visit but good wines.
One of my favourite wineries to visit in NOTL. Staff is always so pleasant and friendly. Their recently upgraded outdoor patio is GORGEOUS! (Love the little ceramic fire pit addition). One of their staff members went above and beyond to deliver the wines we bought to our B&B, since we biked there. No charge, said she lived nearby. Love their 1812 red wine (one of my favourites), but their ice wines are also delicious. Highly recommend adding it to your list!
(Translated) Great service and good wines. (Original) Super service et bon vins.
Good wine. I had the Hot Mulled wine. Excellent.
Great wine, lovely patio.
Get the Pinot Gris. Soooooooooooo amazing
Great place to hang out and try some amazing wines. Love the laid-back atmosphere and friendliness that comes from a family owned and run location. 100 percent will be back!
2 things you need to know. 1) Great tasting wine. 2) They delivered right to our door. ( Same day, Amazing service)
The wine is amazing! I left with a dozen bottles!! The Chardonnay and the Meritage are great! Keep up the good work!
PET FRIENDLY! My dogs favorite place to visit...oh and mine! Great patio, chill environment, amazing service, build your own charcuterie and delicious wines
Nice small winery with awesome hospitality. Don't get fooled via Google maps if you're biking, ensure you enter via Lakeshore and not the back roads
Great pairing, good wine, friendly staff.
Our server was beyond amazing and made the whole experience, but sitting in the Muskoka chairs at the rock fire pit made it the most unique experience I've ever had tasting wine in Niagara.
A relaxed vibes, family-run winery that's great to hang at. Grab a glass, a snackle box and snack on the patio with a game of corn hole. Good wine and cider, good prices, awesome interior, chill team. Don't miss this winery if you are NOT a traditional wine drinker going through NOTL.
Had funs there
Very cool place with a nice vibe. Interesting wines and cider to try in a relaxed atmosphere
Nice experience. We were welcomed by a kind staff member. The reasonable price was appreciated, and the explanations provided were useful in making an informed decision.
Nice wines, one of the most economical wineries in the region.
The new renovations are beautiful at Palatine Hills! Great spot to hang out both inside and out with plenty of room to sit!
Wonderful relaxed setting for drinks and snacks. Very reasonably priced wines, with Lakefront wine blends providing superior taste and finish. Warm, friendly, informative service frim Erin....we'll definitely be back, perhaps for the new fireside feature...
We were staying in Niagara with our dog, and we were looking for some pet friendly places to take him. We came across this Winery and thought we would try it! Happy we did....we loved the laid back environment and the vibe on the patio was relaxing for us and our dog. Enjoyed a wine flight and some cheese, meat and crackers that you can purchase to go with it (they have a few different selections you can choose from). Loved the concept...they bring you everything packaged and you cut it up at the table. Wine, patio, food yummy! and Staff was welcoming and friendly!
Enjoyed the atmosphere. Great service
A newly renovated space giving you craft brewery vibes. Very friendly staff with a wide variety of wines (and one cider). Will be back.
The team here were spectacular and very welcoming. Lots of patio space to enjoy the winery. Sangria was perfect on a hot day. Can also find the food truck here sometimes as well which had amazing hotdogs and poutine.
The Wine was great, and the Venue was nice, but man, the meat sticks... way too good. Maybe it was the wine, maybe it was the fact that we skipped lunch, but the dried meat and chips and salsa is what I am still remembering fondly days later. We had a sampler of wines, and I liked the lakeshore red the best, the staff was pleasant and the venue was open and spacious. When you go, Just remember to eat lunch... or maybe don’t?
Esa wonderful, great placer, AND the Winehouse :)
Great wine and was paired perfectly with a two cheese and edamame bean dumpling. Great job!
There are a lot of changes to the tasting bar. Beautiful location and great staff.
Always my fav
I almost don't want to share how awesome this place is because I want to keep it all to myself! We moved to the region this summer and tried all the wineries and this one is 'our place'. The atmosphere is so laid-back and not pretentious. The wine is fantastic! And the price point is so good! We barely visit an LCBO anymore. Thanks to our friends in the region who put us on to this place. And a special mention to a very knowledgeable and personable General Manager named Viktoria who greeted us on our first visit, taught us so much about wine and gives us the best service, as does all the staff. 11/10!
Loved our afternoon on the patio. Had a tasting and a glass of wine. Great spot to sip and visit with amazing wine and a relaxed ambiance.
Our server was so nice, but honestly, we tried both flights, and it was the 2nd worst wine I've ever had...the cab sauv ice wine was the only drinkable one...
We visited five wineries on a day around Niagara and unfortunately Palatine fell short of expectations. This place is not bad, but not noteworthy compared to other wineries in the area. Pros: 1) award-winning Chardonnay is very good and we brought a bottle home! 2) while our tasting was at noon on a weekday, the patio has a fun vibe and would be a great spot in the evening when it's busier. Cons: 1) all 5 of the other wines tasted were meh. There are two flights to taste. I do not recommened the flight with the basic wines. Not worth it 2) servers were subpar compared to the other wineries in terms of enthusiasm and friendliness
On Tuesday of this week now ending, my wife Bev and I along with two friends, had the pleasure of enjoying the new Palatine Hills patio. Our visit began about mid afternoon. From then till closing we sampled various wines, shared in some wonderful cheeses, salsa and chips, enjoyed some more wines, then retired to our motorhome at closing. An excellent time on a beautiful day with first rate service. That brings me to Stephanie. She is one of the best ambassadors for any business I have encountered in a long time. Genuinely one of the best. Stephanie has a super personality, great sense of humor and full knowledge of the products she represents. She was an integral part of making our visit the first of future visits rather than a one time event. I don't do a lot of commentary or reviews as they're more frequently called. This time I had to. Do yourself a favor. Enjoy a few hours at Palatine Hills Estate Winery. Cheers! Kaye Richard & Bev Hadland
This is a wonderful place you shouldn’t miss... It’s a perfect location close to the Lake Ontario and close to the Niagara Falls... With our Motorhome we are able to stay overnight in the middle of the vineyards... Furthermore you can taste through the wines they offer in a beautiful wine tasting facility... Nice people to deal with and they have a tremendous knowledge of their wines...
put my second order in July 31, still no delivery. Left a V/M but so far no reply.
Had a great afternoon at Palatine Hills Estate. Had a wine flight to start and ended up with a glass of the Chardonnay (and I’m not a fan but found this one very refreshing and smooth) went great with our cheese and salami. The patio was nice and clean. The grounds were beautiful and well tended. We will definitely be doing another visit especially in the fall so we can sit round the fire pit enjoying their wines. Thank you Thomas!
Stopped for our first time at Palatine. Had some snacks consisting of cheese, salami, crackers, salsa. But what about the wine you ask. Started with a flight of 3 wines then settled on a glass of 1812 red. Everything I tried was wonderful. Staff was awesome as well. Met the owner and had a nice chat with him. We will be back for sure.
Nice staff and cosy place
My group wasn't a fan of the wines on offer, but we all prefer dry over sweet. The people running it seemed very nice, the wine just wasn't to our liking.
Great icewines, lovely and knowledgeable service.
Great place and service
The Neufeld Family and all of their staff provide a friendly, inviting and fun environment for wine tasting. Our group of friends particularly enjoyed playing games on the patio during our stay. Highly recommended!
I went during the wine festival weekend. I lucked out and it had temporarily emptied out. All of the staff were friendly. However, Casey (my server) was stellar. She was super knowledgable about every wine I tasted. I love it and will be back.
Great staff and some very nice wine's.
Awesome service and amazing wine. Food trucks on Sundays were a nice choice. I highly recommend you try the Lakeshore Red.
Great!!
Great family run winery!
Cute little winery. Lots of good wines at a good price. Not as extensive of a tour as most of the other wineries. Basically you come in and they start showing you wines and you taste some. Other wineries give you a long tour around and see how the wine is made. Overall a nice experience.
A bit of a hidden gem. Wonderful little winery with friendly staff and great wines. I hope they sell at the lcbo at some point!
This is a great little winery tucked away off 911 Lakeshore road that offers friendly service, great wines, and wonderful photos i the vineyards. Highly recommended.
Great winery ???? Victoria's service was awesome! Will be back!
We had the pleasure of chatting with the winemaker, Jeff. He made our experience so much fun. We tried the 2013, 2014 and 2015 Sauvignon Blanc as well as a bunch of reds. The 2014 SB is fantastic the 2015 is well on its way. The blended red was my favourite. Great experience!
Solid atmosphere.
(Translated) It came very rich !! Highly recommended. (Original) Vino muy rico!! Muy recomendable.
Palatine Hills is a fabulous place to spend the afternoon with friends. Make sure you leave with a bottle of their Rosé!
Great atmosphere great wine!
Great winery! You can make a tour through the vineyard and wine production facilities for $10 Can, it includes 3 wine tastings. I definitely recommend visiting this winery if you have the time. They also sell their own wines there. Furthermore, you can taste ice wine, which is allegedly only produced in Niagara on the lake.
Is beautiful
We visited 4 wineries in the area (Sept 23rd) and Palatine Hills was one of our favourites - it had a nice outdoor patio with good music, good wine, probably the best discount when buying wine after tasting, and the service was fantastic. Thanks for answering all our questions! We look forward to enjoying your icewines and the Wild & Free Reds in the coming weeks.
Fun great wine and prices
Fantastic family owned winery - we always make sure to drop by every time we are in Niagara - great selection of wines and lovely outdoor patio. Their wine delivery service is also great - very fast!
Great winery! Quite possibly the best Riesling I have ever had!
My favourite winery. Stephanie is amazing and knows so much about wine.
Best Winery in Ontario, maybe Canada. The owners are amazing.
