In regards to the food, the only issue I had was that it was very salty. Nonna didn't mind but I did ahaha Went for a family event and was very happy to have a private area, overall very accommodating as other places weren't when deciding our location. Unfortunately, the service was kind of unorganized, and some of the servers weren't made aware of specifications that were mentioned during the reservation. It was then corrected without real complications and that was very much appreciated.

We feel all the life in this restaurant, it can however seem noisy but if you ask to be placed specifically in the calm I do not doubt that they will be happy to respond positively to this request. ????Quality of the dishes???? I tasted 3 different types of meat and all three were perfectly seasoned. On the other hand, I was not asked to cook the meat. It was not a problem because it was perfectly cooked! ????Quality of service???? Both the waiter and the owner were caring at every moment. J'ai goûté 3 types de viandes différentes et chacune des trois a été parfaitement assaisonnées. Par contre on ne m'a pas demandé la cuisson de la viande. Cela n'a pas été un problème car elle était parfaitement cuite ! ????Qualité du service???? Pas le temps de penser à demander quelque chose, les serveurs anticipent les demandes, changent les couverts entre chaque plats et tournent autour à la recherche d'une bouteille ou d'une assiette vide. À la fois le serveur et le propriétaire ont été aux petits soins à chaque instants. Un petit retard à la cuisine qui a été à la fois expliqué/justifié mais également compensé par la gentillesse du serveur et un digestif proposé en fin de repas. ????Ressenti général???? Cette expérience culinaire aura réussi à me convaincre de l'hospitalité et de la bienveillance des québécois. Je garderai ce restaurant en souvenir de mon voyage de deux semaines ici. This place is great period!!! There are many Italian restaurants in Montreal but none quite like this. The food is excellent, the service is excellent and the restaurant has a great atmosphere/ambiance. In my opinion it is the best Italian restaurant in Montreal. I have been at least 20 times and I have never had a bad experience. The guys that run that place and their staff are very friendly.

So I was told about this place a year and a half ago. My friends and I checked it out and in the span of a year we must have gone back as a group..maybe 15 times and an additional 5-7 times individually. Ive worked in restaurants... I am European we understand food. This place has very simply put: 1.very good quality and home made ingredients 2. Great tasting food 3.great for social gatherings, first time dates and just about anything you want from a restaurant. The staff? Well let's put it this way... It's obvious that they actually live their job are very good at what they do the service is impeccable. It's the first restaurant I can actually say is my favourite restaurant (I'm 39) lost of restaurant experience

Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about this restaurant. We went out of our way to get to the restaurant, based on the reviews. It certainly wasn't terrible, but fell well short of our expectations and we probably won't be back given the distance. The wait times for our main course was nearly an hour at 9:15 at night. Not acceptable for a restaurant that was nearly empty with pretty substantial prices. Food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Service subpar. Unless you're in the area, I'd probably go to Joe Beef or another similar venue.

Everything was great. Even the service is exceptional and staff is super friendly. But the meals are pretty expensive I guess this is the price of pain for bring your own wine. There is an also positive side to free parking behind the restaurant.

I went to a surprise birthday party there and the food was excellent, from the appetizers to main and then at the end with a coffee (I asked for a regular tea instead). My table was a bit rowdy, but the waiter was phenomenal in dealing with it. I would definitely go again (I already do), and suggest it to any & everyone who likes Italian to go there. I have a lot of problems with eating italian since I have quite a few intolerances with most ingredients & preparation methods in italian cooking, but I had no problems eating there! I’m not sure what they do differently from the other italian restaurants, if it’s the quality of ingredients they use, or how they cook it, but just the fact that I can eat it and not have any reactions or take any pills for the intolerances is a definite must go back for me!

I can't express how happy i am with this place! It's definitely the best food and service! The servers were super welcoming and they make us feel like home, they would answer every question with a smile on their face, they all speak english and french (some of them speak italian too), when the food got here we were amazed(i left some photos down here) the food was delicious! we ordered a steak that was the best i've ever tasted, hand made gnocchi that was spectacular and a spaggethi on a lemon sauce.For desert we ordered crème brûlé that was on point! and a plate of cannoli(it came with 3 delicious cannoli). Im extreamly thankfull for this experience, we are for sure coming back and would 100% recommend this place!(it is a little bit expensive but definitely worth it :)

Our group of 12 went for dinner on a Friday night. Looking back, I firmly believe this was the best meal of my life. When I say meal, I'm not singling out the food (although the food was stellar), I'm referencing the experience as a whole. Managing a group of 12 rowdy Americans on a Friday night is no easy task. And yet, our dinner couldn't have been more carefree, tasty, enjoyable, and seamless. Our server, Kevin, was absolutely outstanding. We based our meal solely on his recommendations and he knocked it out of the park. This dinner was the first event of our vacation in Montreal. This place is a diamond in the rough. You would never know it was here unless you heard from someone to go or randomly found it. There are lots of good steaks here, special menu on Wednesday and Thursday that is 5-6 course meals for a group of four or more. The service was excellent, authentic and loud for a family owned restaurant. I would recommend it again, the prices are a little bit expensive for not a white table clothe experience. They newly decorated restaurant is lovely with reclaimed bar wood. The menu is now missing a table d'hote which is unfortunate. Also the menus has changed slightly so some of my favourites were missing. The burrata appetizer was very fresh and delicious as well as the calamari. The veal picatta was very tasty but I found the veal was slightly over cooked and not as tender as my husband's veal cognac. I definitely will go back because I really like this restaurant and hope some things will be reintroduced once people request them.

Great restaurant, fantastic staff, and out of this world food. When you come here expect to spend at least $75 per person, but you'll leave full and very satisfied. The stuffed gnocchi are a great choice, the steaks are all beautiful, my personal favorite are the Osso buco ravioli, it's hard to try anything else on the menu once you've had those. Their home made capicollo and flavored butters are always a fun little treat that you get before your meal.

Very high quality Italian fare that specializes in aged steaks but also has fish and seafood, pasta, etc. Had a polpette for appetizer and baseball sirloin for main and also tried the rack of lamb and all were excellent. For dessert the sea salt caramel cheese cake was delicious. Service was also prompt and courteous. Seems recently renovated with lots of barnwood and an open kitchen that is clean and fun to watch and can see the aged meats on display. Definitely recommend and would go back.

I heard about this place from a friend and tried it out. It was amazing. The food is authentic and really tasty. I had grilled octopus as a meal and my boyfriend had seafood pasta. Everything was so fresh and delicious. For dessert we didn’t have much room left but still tried the Nutella biscottis. They were homemade and filled with Nutella which was so good ! It's kinda weird how such a tasty restaurant is in the middle of nowhere. All their seafood is exquisite, of a higher class than seafood in the cafeteria. You'll know what I mean when you taste their fried calamari or jumbo shrimp. Maybe it's the seasoning. The pizza is average, but the steak is pretty good quality. I was visiting Montreal, and my friend Carmen recommended that we have dinner at her favourite restaurant. I LOVED this restaurant. I'm a foodie and have dined at many Italian restaurants, and this was wonderful. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. I especially loved the buffalo mozzarella appetizer. It had so many different layers of flavour, peaches, walnuts, honey, truffle oil, balsamic, arugula...salty, sweet, crunchy, tender.... The aged steak was excellent. They served it with a side of spices and salts....including truffle salt...the warm bread was served with 2 kinds of flavoured butter. They went the extra mile to make it a wonderful experience not just gourmet wise, but also in service. At one point owner Dino came and sat with us at our table to chat about the food and the history of this family run restaurant. The waiters where so attentive, and kept asking us if we need something, By the time we left we felt we had a connection with everyone in there. I left very happy....and to me thats what eating out should be about...spending quality time with loved ones, eating wonderful food in an a welcoming and friendly environment, and leaving HAPPY.

It was our first time to La Campagnola and all I can say is WOW!!! We gave Kevin, our server, the go ahead to choose our dishes to share (group of 4) and our dinner turned out to be an amazing experience!!! The different flavors were superb and the bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon we had brought along were a perfect match. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for authentic Italian cuicine!!! And thank you Kevin for making our visit an awesome experience!!!

Came here with a group from my office for a Holiday get together. Food was delicious! We had a mix of appetizers which were all very tasty. For my main, I had the lamb served with pasta alio olio. The lamb was so tender and was prepared perfectly. The alio olio was so tasty too. The whole table enjoyed their meal. Dessert was delicious as well, I had crispelli which was two doughy rolls with chocolate sauce on top, just yummy. Suggest advanced reservations because this place is very busy. The restaurant has morphed from a traditional italian eatery to a 'steak' house. My son had the 8oz filet mignon plate which was a filet mignon served on a wooden board with a basket of fries...for $47 ouch. The filet lacked seasoning, wasn't too impressed with that dish. I had the veal marsala and it was good. I used to love going to this place as it was, and still is, BYOB. They also served amazing italian food. Since they changed the menu and decor, the restaurant has lost some of it's identity.

Average at best... I made a reservation through Open Table, but it was empty when we arrived so the reservation wasn't necessary and the host looked at me confused as to why I'd bother with a reservation in the 1st place... Also on my reservation was information that it was my birthday which they payed no attention to so I watched in silence while the woman at a table near me was sung to and had a dessert with a candle brought to her. My husband got the pork chop and I the veal in a lemon sauce- both cooked to perfection. Service was very slow as it took and hour for our food to arrive or maybe that's a Montreal thing because other restaurants here have been consistent in that manner. Overall, I'd say, La Campagnola was okay. I've definitely had better, but it's somewhere for the older crowd to pull out an antique bottle of wine from their home collection and enjoy with their friends (it's bring your own bottle). I wouldn't go back, but I'm glad my husband enjoyed his pork chop since he rarely has the chance for one at home.... They also deleted my Open Table reservation during our meal, so I'd be unable to review them which is dishonest and probably why they have a 4.5 rating.

We were there last night after 2 years of not being able to go (Pandemic), The place was looking good, the service as usual was out of this world but we were totally disappointed with our meal. It used to be amazing food but last night was not worth the money we paid for. I was told they could not change the pasta (from spaghettini to penne with my chosen sauce) as they were understaffed and all newbies in the kitchen. So I changed my choice and ordered Lasagna it was normal nothing spectacular as far as taste goes and my husbands pizza was quite sad (they had great presentation for it on a wood board) but looked like a frozen one.....! The other couple we were with, were as equally disappointed . I'm not sure what happened to this wonderful place but I can assure you we will not be going back soon. Sad very sad as it was one of our to go places !!

Favorite restaurant hands down. Been there 4 times in about 5 years, waiter still remembers me. EDIT (couple years after first post) : Been there for my birthday this month and amidst everything happening, service was even better than I remembered. My waiter ran after me as I was about to leave to bring back my forgotten S20+. Love the place even more, 10 ???? for me. Also, for those who don't know, everything is homemade from the bread to the pasta. If you want fast food, you go to fast food, if you want something that was prepared from scratch with quality above and beyond, you go to La Campagnola
