Wow our best experience of the week. Visited this winery based on the suggestions of sommeliers from other vineyards. From the moment we arrived the staff was pleasant interactive and informative. We enjoyed the little european …

Love Road 13 winery! It is a "must stop" every time I am visiting the Okanagan. The servers are friendly and knowledgable, on top of fantastic wine. Their Summer wine dinners, if you can get a reservation, have never disappointed!

Greg Abramoff

$25 for a tasting "experience" they call it. You get to taste 6 of their wines, and the fee is NOT waived with purchase. What a rip-off. The staff is not welcoming at all either. Silver Sage winery 5 minutes away offers complimentary tastings of their entire menu. Or try any other winery really that does a $5 waivable tasting fee. I will not support this winery any longer, as they seem to love to nickel and dime their customers. In addition, their 2020 Rose was $20.99 on the menu I was presented with, and I've seen it for $18.99 at BC Liquor Stores. Seems greedy to charge more at your facility just for the "EXPERIENCE" aspect. For these 2 reasons I will be looking elsewhere for my rose needs.

Carly Perryman

Even though their wine was good, not very impressed with the service received. Tastings are $25, includes 6 tastings and a welcome drink... we only received 5 tastings and no welcome drink. The tastings we received took approximately 2 …

Lovely tasting experience at Road 13 with warm hospitality by Alfredo and team. Amazing views and ample shade made for a comfortable time. Personal favourite was the welcome rose which I happily purchased a bottle of. That being said, there was a great selection of other varietals as well. Something for everybody really. Definitely will be back soon!

Really great experience here. We booked a tasting here and it ended up being a private thing in their member's lounge. We had great service from a very friendly and knowledgeable staff member. They have a great history and are expanding their wine list into the Similkameen valley. We had a great time and would recommend this winery.

Wonderful vineyard with amazing wine. We enjoy getting a shipment every few months!

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very much unlike some of the other wineries in the area. And the views from the “castle” are to die for. Totally recommend visiting it.

The staff that hosted our wine tasting gave us a feeling like he doesn't want to be there at all. Very unfriendly and unpassionate, if we could reach over the counter, it might as well be a self-serve experience. If it's not for their known name, I'd rather visit a more deserving winery.

Can't tell you how much I enjoy this vineyard. Not only a beautiful location, absolutely love the wine. While everything I've tried is great, I would seriously recommend the Honest John's range for affordable but delicious wine. Always come here when I'm in the Okanagan, love the staff there as well.

Aidan Moriarity

Didn't take the wine tasting, when you buy bottles of wine.

Melissa Love

We went for the wine but this place is not family friendly. It has the ability to be but the attitude of the staff made it very uncomfortable and we were rushed to get out. I definitely left with less wine then I would have otherwise purchased.

We had a great wine tasting experience at Road 13. They allowed us to have our dog on the patio while we did the wine tasting and Jenna was very knowledgeable and friendly while leading us through the tasting. It is also a beautiful location and tasting room. Highly recommended!

Incredible farm to table dinner with backyard farms celebrating our one year anniversary. The team at Road 13 did an incredible job working with Chris for wine pairings and show casing the okanagan's incredible food and wines.

Luke, our host definitely made our day. He was funny, smart and gave us a lot of helpful information about Road13 and the wine making process. The view is gorgeous and you get to have your tasting in a castle!

I've been a fan of this winery for a decade. First time visitor the other day & was blown away with the hospitality & history of Road 13. I will defiantly be back again when visiting the Okanagan.

Love the collection of wines usually available in the lounge. Just a whole other level of quality.

Highly recommend this winery! Road 13's expansive views and delicious wines are definitely something to write home about, but what sealed the deal was our wine educator's knowledge and above-and-beyond attitude. Jenna was friendly and welcoming from the start and her interest in the industry is evident. She shared product and vineyard information enthusiastically and thoughtfully and made us feel confident in our experience there. Thank you!

Came up for a quick visit to Oliver area, and so glad we decided to stop in at Road 13. Hadn't been there in several years, and certainly was not disappointed with the wines, particularly the Rosé and the Viognier. A wonderful tasting, nicely presented from Emma, and so impressed with her knowledge and passion for wine. Certainly will be back and look forward to drinking our purchases!

zena ruzycki

One of BC’s best wineries. Absolutely worth a stop. Always best to call ahead and book a tasting.

Vince Fowler

Stopped by the vineyard to purchase some wines. Beautiful architecture and buildings. We were there before the tastings started (which were already fully booked for the day) and were helped out by Brenda. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. Truly enjoyed our short experience there. Thank you!

Jim Fik

Most enjoyable. Thank you.

Everyone that we've introduced to this winery has been more than pleased with many of the wines. Our houseguests have specifically asked us to take them back to Road 13. We buy wine at a lot of different wineries and I find it hard to believe that someone would give this winery a poor rating. They have wines to suit even the most sophisticated palates. We like so many of Road 13's wines that it's tough to pick a favourite. That said, Honest John's Red is very consistent year after year and it's affordable. It pairs well with many appetizers and main dishes and it's the all time favourite at parties. The view from the winery patio is beautiful and the staff are knowledgable and very accommodating.

We loved our visit here. From the Castle to the new building next door, Road 13 was our favorite stop on our visit to the Okanagan. I have to take a moment to give a shout out to the staff in the new building: they are some of the most entertaining people that we have ever spent time with. Unpretentious, knowledgeable and kind, with incredible insight into the process of making wine. Even the owners and their son made an appearance! Truly a family run, hands-on winery. The care and attention to detail are readily apparent, making this the number one stop the we made on our vacation. Kudos and congratulations! -Jack Mason - Level 3 WSET

My favourite wine from B.C.! Road 13 are a great example of how good Okanagan wine can be (their Jackpot Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc are my personal favourites.) While the traditional tasting room is lovely, it's the new building which is truly stunning - modern and tasteful, the floor to ceiling windows overlook the vineyards. Staff are friendly and knowledgable. I first visited Road 13 about 4 years ago and they're now my go-to winery for stocking up for parties, business gifts or that go-to bottle over dinner. Highly recommended!

Terry Vandament

its worth going there just to check out of outside of the building

Not quite sure what the reviewer below was smoking, but they were OBVIOUSLY having a bad day ...... that said, without a doubt, one of the best wineries in all of the Okanagan!! Amazing wine, with the friendliest and knowledgable staff. One of the few wineries where you can actually have a face to face chat with the actual owner(s). Their passion oozes from them in conversation about their craft. HIGHLY recommend a visit and tastings of their outstanding wines. Thank you Joe, Laura, Mick and Pam.... keep doing what your doing...... AMAZING!! See you all soon. A&N

The castle-like architecture has the greatest appeal and causes this vineyard to stand out from others , but the wine is just as excellent.

One of the few wineries that you cannot miss! Their golden wine tasting is the most sophisticated I had in all Oliver’s wineries.

I was warmly welcomed by the whole team at Road 13. It was absolutely stunning! Jenna guided us through the winery and did a great job explaining the wines we were drinking. If you get the chance to go to Road 13 hopefully you will have the pleasure of meeting Jenna and the rest of the team!

Great winery for toilet wine. Very disgusting and not very sophisticated. If you go here you are crazy, you are in Oliver. There are dozens of great vineyards here, just not Road 13.

Tyler Mills

Beautiful location and friendly, knowledgeable staff! Yum - enjoying delicious glass of Fifth Element ????with girl friends!

Scott Cadwell

The manager Alfredo is untrustworthy.

great winery! Amazing selection of wines with a variety of price points. Two tasting rooms one free and one reserve tasting room for $ 10. Staff are knowledgeable and it's a great tasting room experience in both rooms. There is a great picnic area where you can enjoy a bottle of wine after tasting so pack some snacks. A must do when in the area!

10 years as return visitors. Small-ish tasting room & patio. Very friendly service and great wines ranging from 19-40+ per bottle.

I'm a big fan of Okanagan wines - with Road 13 being one of my favourite vineyards in the region. Sitting on the west side of Oliver, the property has a spectacular vantage point. From the tasting room (which - bonus points - is a castle), there's a sweeping, unbroken view across the vines onto the valley, hills & lakes of the South Okanagan. Most importantly: The wine itself is excellent (personal favourites being their Pinot Noir, Stemwinder, and Fifth Element). There is a lot diversity in varietals/blends & price point - and their bottles have become our go-to anytime we need to bring something nice to dinner.

Marc Deschamps

I had never heard of this winery but recently visited it with family who live in the area and I am glad that we did. After being warmly welcomed, we proceeded to try some of their excellent wines with Alfredo guiding us through the experience. His professionalism, knowledge and personality made it a very enjoyable time and the Cabernet Sauvignon was a hit with me. Try to stop by this lovely winery, you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful winery. Wines are good and reasonably priced which is not always the case in the area. Owner was friendly and interesting to talk to.

We met Jenna at Road 13 just recently. All I can say is WOW!! She made us very comfortable. Her knowledge was immense as well her personality that made our experience over the moon!! So much so, that we were a tad bit late for our reservation down the valley. The wine of Road 13 are wonderful and tasting the varietals that they have are delicious. With a view of the Valley just heightens the experience. Jenna, you are a delight that compliment the wines! Thank you for such a wonderful time!! We will be back!

Madeline Rainer

What a great experience today in the Road 13 lounge. Brooke was amazing in educating us on the wines. Her passion and knowledge was so great. The bonus was being able to sit with Nick and his grand daughter to just chat and to learn the history of Road 13. This was our second visit and I’m sure there will be many more....

What a fantastic experience! Jenna was informative and knowledgeable about the wines and the area, and clearly very passionate about both. The wines were lovely, and the BBQ sandwiches were an awesome addition! 110% recommend!

Love this winery! We travel to the Okanagan every year (from Ontario) & we make sure that we always make it up to the Castle. Friendly, knowledgeable staff & a warm welcoming feel. I first tried Road 13 wine last last spring (a year ago). It was a bottle of Honest John's Red - there was something about it that I loved right away. Since then I've tried almost every red that Road 13 sells and I love them all. Today we received our 3rd shipment of Wine Club. Great tasting wines delivered to my front door - how perfect is that? We'll be visiting the Okanagan Valley again this summer... a trip to Road 13 is in order! Keep up the great work.

Judith Collard

We absolutely loved our experience, and can’t wait to go back! I would definitely recommend this wine tasting to any of my friends or family. Jenna was so well informed about all the wines, and was so kind to answer all our questions. We learned so much, enjoyed the wine, and our overall experience! Thank you so much Jenna, this was definitely one to remember :)

Beautiful views, delicious wine and the most amazing staff. The wine club membership is great for the cost. Lost of great perks! Definitely recommend.

Had an awesome tasting at Road13 on Wednesday. Carlee, Emma, and Hayley were phenomenal and very knowledgeable about the wines. The property and buildings are beautiful and they have wines at an array of prices so even if you don’t want to spend big money on a bottle there will absolutely be something you’ll love that wont break the bank.

Richard Ford

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The variety of wines is great!

They were quite clear when we walked in that our children weren't welcome, but we persisted. As we began our tasting and tried to keep tabs on our relatively well behaved children, the server was on edge. Her terror proved well founded as our children wandered around, showing curiosity in their decor and randomly tried on the hats they had conveniently displayed 2 feet from the ground. Who would have thought? My children's interest in their surroundings exceeded my interest in their weak reds and tart whites. Let's say that if I ever need something to cook my seafood in, I know where to go. If you've read this far, allow me to finish strong. I recommend this vineyard and their balsamic vinegar, ahem, red wine if you like to make a face similar to when you walk into a hoarders' den and catch a whiff of the 13 cats that called the place home. I'm out.

Micheline Bruneau

We did the Wine tasting experience in the tasting lounge. It was fantastic and Dudley was amazing as our host. We always stop at Road 13 when we come out to Osoyoos and once again, we were not disappointed. The wine is great and you can’t beat the view from there either. If you are planning a visit, put this on your to do list for sure!

David Dakin

Had high expectations of Road 13 from their beautiful location and high reviews. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the customer service their staff delivered. The moment I entered the winery I felt judged and neglected. Road 13 gave off an elitist vibe that made me feel unwelcome from the start. The staff did not seem to have any passion or knowledge about their winery. Instead they were just rude, aggressive, and unfriendly. Ultimately the terrible customer service ruined the experience of Road 13 regardless of how good the wine may be. I would recommend giving this one a miss and moving on to one of the many fantastic wineries in the Okanagan, where you can be treated with love, respect, and kindness.

Bryce Tickner

I was unimpressed. I had heard a lot of good things about Road 13 and that is why my wife and I visited. The wines they were tasting were good but nothing special. I have heard that if you are a member there are a lot better wines but if I can’t taste them I am not going to join.

Beautiful vineyard, helpful and friendly staff and tasty wine! I really enjoyed the relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. Also, the tasting room balances tradition, modern style and an excellent view of the surrounds. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area.

This winery is so POSH, PROFESSIONAL and PERFECT. Our group of 4 had a great experience at Road 13. We were promptly greeted with a complimentary glass of wine. We purchased our tasting and were seated by Emma. What a kind soul! Emma served us 5 different wines beautifully and gave us so much information. We will definitely be back. The only downside to this tasting was when I was purchasing my bottle there is no option to tip our server, Emma. I didn’t have cash so I felt terrible but SHE WAS AMAZING!! Thank you Emma!

Emily Odermatt

absolutely amazing experience! Emma was great and even gave us a little insider info about the winery. 10/10 would visit again

Gorgeous view of the valley. Excellent wines.

Four (4) years ago I was at the BC Wine Appreciation Society for a wine tasting dinner presentation. I was so impressed with the winemaker, the time he took answering all of our questions etc that I made a special trip up to Nick’s winery two (2) years later. That is when the owner, Nick took me to his newly opened semi-private tasting room. Again, I was impressed with the time he spent with me. This past winter, I called and booked the tasting room. I even followed up a few weeks away as I was deep in planning my big half century birthday visit with my closest friends. I wanted to show off the gem location and wine I have been following for some time. Coconut Express picked up my party in Osoyoos and we heading directly to Road 13. From the moment we walked into the main tasting room, there seemed to be a problem. They took my money as I was paying for my group, then directed us to the semi-private tasting room. Instantly it was apparent we were not appreciated and respected. I have to tell you, this was a group of business professionals from Vancouver and the youngest was 39, the oldest, well let’s just say she has been there and done that and knows horrific service the moment it is shown. We were all treated like hooligans. To give an example, my eldest friend asked what was she tasting and the person pouring pointed to the tasting sheet and said “it’s right there”. Within 30 minutes my party was out in the parking lot and calling Coconut Express to come back and pick us up. Thankfully he was close by, he gladly came back and we continued on to a new location, were treated like the professionals we are. I thank my friends for being the amazing people each and every one of them are as we salvaged our birthday celebration elsewhere. I called today and they cancelled my membership – the feeling is mutual. Road 13 has lost a supporter but I gather they do not care. Brutal customer service, people skills and with no ability to try to accommodate or salvage the opportunity to sell cases of wine to my group. #road13doesnotcare

Road 13 My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited sixty wineries. You can follow our various locations with this disclaimer. That’s sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired. And this is why you travel to this region—this is why you make the effort. Road 13 is a @#$%^& castle, and I hope the censors allow that single expletive (even covered, they have a tendency of blocking it). Okay, it’s not technically a castle. I mean it doesn’t have a moat or defensive structures. It’s certainly unable to handle a siege, though if trapped within, it would provide the most delightful time until the cellar ran out of fermentations. I can think fewer places I’d rather be when the Mongols charged across the land. A truly astounding site, Road 13 is one of the best-looking wineries in the region, and proof positive that one is not required to travel to Tuscany or Napa Valley to partake a wine tour. I fixated on the castle motif for some time, though in honesty, it’s more a façade, and filled with half-cut barrel displays and curved walls filled with crimson-topped bottles, the tasting room is the only aspect medieval inspired. If you secure a more extensive wine tasting, your instance in the dated theme ends and you are escorted outside, across the grounds, to a modern glass-draped modern bistro overlooking the rolling vineyards, crossing centuries in seconds. Not jarring in any way. It was in the lounge where we started our EXTREMILY all-encompassing wine sampling. There were several offered, and before the sun reached its zenith, we had enjoyed twelve glasses of wine. Twelve. The samples were miniscule to be sure, but even with the charcuterie pairing to help fill our stomachs, it was far too much alcohol so early in the day. Who do you think I am, Nicholas Cage baiting for Oscar glory? I was okay by the hour’s end; the girlfriend not so much, and she had to bow out of the next two wineries. Road 13 was also the visit that changed our approach to each location. If Road 13 is your only choice or one of only a handful, then by my guess, enjoy the lounge and partake in the long tour. You may even get a pleasant German host like we did. We ended up taking home three bottles, though decided afterward we couldn’t survive the trip taking such extensive wine samplings at each location. I didn’t mention my opinion on the actual wines yet, but they are…fine. They’re all right. This is one of those occurrences where the location and the experience of the visit greatly outweighed the quality of the wine. I mean it’s not bad wine—we got three bottles, but the location is amazing. If you visit only one winery in the region…well…you’d be an idiot, but if so, I think this would be the one the most aesthetically pleasing. one of the best in the region. Don’t miss this place.
