Great food with an incredible view. We had some great wine to wash it down. The people working there are so friendly and accommodating.

I had the lamb vindaloo ordered hot. The lamb was very tender but there was a strong vinegar taste which I think resulted in the dish being spiced up with a hot sauce. Naan bread delicious and service was excellent.

Tasting room is spacious and staff are helpful. They seem exceptionally informed about their products. We took home a bottle of their Moscato and loved it. Location is great in proximity to other wineries.

Wonderful manager in the winery! Great wine and great food. Thank you for the tasteful afternoon. If you enjoy ethentic Indian food check out the restaraunt that is right next door, they will also recommend the perfect wine to go with your meal. :)

Verity Howarth

Excellent food, very flavourful and with fresh ingredients. They had some great options for vegetarians. The wines were surprisingly good and I left the tasting room with several bottles of wines I normally would not enjoy. I appreciated the electric car charging available for guests as Osoyoos does not have many charging units.

Jane Smith

Well I just would like to share that I had a problem with my order the other day, and they fixed it! No problem. The customer service is 5 star all the way! I left one happy customer:)

Amazing wines!! Only place we visited with two Rosés! A must stop!

Dan Davies

We did both a wine tasting and dinner. Both were very well handled. They have improved their selection of wine, so we bought several bottles. Dinner was excellent, with selections for both Indian food lovers and those wanting more regular fare. The lamb masala was excellent and they even had good beer for this non-wine drinker. Definitely go again.

Jacqui Richards

Great Indian bistro for lunch and wines that paired very well with the spicy food

Jessica Francisco

This was our first stop on our very first wine tour. Curtis reprimanded us immediately for questioning how everything worked. His attitude was rude for the rest of the visit. He also quoted us tasting fees, which we thought was strange, but we the tour was gifted to us, so we had no information on pricing. We just shrugged it off, but we did feel obligated to buy wine to waive the fees. After we left, we found out that all tasting fees were supposed to be included. Our group had been brought in by our guide at the beginning, and Curtis even asked us partway through which tour company we were with, so it's not like it was an honest mistake. Definitely feels like they take advantage of their patrons. Will not be returning, and will discourage others to avoid this place as well

Ray Bozzer

The service was good and the food was fantastic. The Karma wine is one of the best in the valley. If you get an opportunity, stop in and enjoy the food and wine, you won't be disappointed.

Kathryn Allan-Kwasnica

Excellent Indian Food - highly recommend eating here. The patio was lovely, the service was attentive and most importantly the food was divine! The pani puri chaat is not to be missed. My husband and I each had the Lamb Vindaloo and it was delicious! My husband ordered his hot, he adores spicy food and was able to eat it with just a little bit of sweating. I had mine mild, as I was sharing with our daughter. Just a note, there is no kids menu so we just ordered a side or rice and naan for her and fed her off our plates.

Susan Cherewyk

Delicious dinner with wine paring. One of the family owners Dapinder Gill came to our table and we had many questions. He was quick to give us a lesson on vine pruning. Thanks to Kitti for the great service. A must visit if you’re in the Osoyoos area.

Tasting bar good. We did that then went to Marsala restaurant right next door. Delicious food. Bit pricy to do regular visits. With liquor and tip $85 FOR 2 of us. If they can get that down to 55 I could afford to go monthly. Poor and retired. Lol

The owner was very rude. He had a huge ego, and made us wait over 1 hour to get appetizers. Refused to even say sorry. Service was slow and food was just average. Will not go here again.

Lia Johnson

The best restaurant around! Unbeatable views, attentive service, and some of the best butter chicken out there. I recommend getting the chai tea as well.

Winery with a restaurant attached. The wine was good. We ordered 4 bottles of wine. I'd say come if you have time but it didn't stand out among many others we visited. The staff was professional and knowledgeable. The wine was good.

Ken Cummings P. Eng.

Wonderful tasting but several wines were already sold out.

A wonderful wine experience with the best Indian food in town by far! A must stop if you’re in the area

I had been so looking forward to having lunch at the restaurant today (Sept 10, 2019). I ordered the mussels for lunch and was very disappointed in the meal. It was bascially swimming in oil. I felt I needed to put up a public post on this specific dish to warn anyone planning to order it. It sounded great but was incredibly oily (far to rich) for the mussels in the curry. It's really too bad as I was so looking forward to enjoying this restaurant! I did tell the waitress and was given a discount but that didn't really compensate for the disappointment in the meal. On a brighter note - they do make a great chai.

I love this place! So, I take all my friends who visit to this winery and every single one of them agrees that there isn't a wine they don't like here. Every wine is undervalued and of exceptional quality. And the staff (family) are so lovely and friendly, you cannot help but stay a little longer and return to! Don't forget to stop in at the restaurant - you won't be able to ignore the aromas coming from the kitchen as far out on the driveway as the highway - absolutely 5 star all the way! YUM YUM!

Christa Skimmings

The food is amazing!!! Never ever had a bed meal! Staff is wonderful. The chef will usually check in on the table to see if he and improve!

Little to no customer service provided. Several other wineries in the area that are outstanding - came to Kismet years ago and it was phenomenal. Disappointed with the winery now.

Stopped in for lunch during a birthday wine tour. Curtis in the tasting was amazing, treated us so well and was personable, kind and fun. Joyce was our server for lunch and was very helpful, polite, knowledgeable and went above and beyond for the birthday girl. To top it all off the entire staff signed a card with a note for her birthday.

Excellent food, wine and atmosphere. The friendly and helpful staff acknowledged our anniversary with flowers for our table and a card signed by all of them! Only our second visit but they made us feel appreciated and special. The food is amazing and should be on your list of must-experience places in the South Okanagan.

Good food but poor and awkward service. We stood at the entrance for almost 10 mins while staff walked around us not saying anything. Finally someone came over and confirmed our reservation. Then we hovered awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant for a while because the hostess stopped to grab the phone and take a reservation while in the middle of seating us. They didn't get our order right and we watched a number of tables around us struggle to get their orders and bills sorted out. Overall it felt like we stopped in at a highway truck stop. Pakoras were tasty and the butter chicken was definitely yummy though.

Great family run Winery. Indian food is awesome and the family member who is a sommelier will pair the wine perfectly with the nice spicy food.

This was the first stop on our wine tour in the Okanagan Valley. Everyone was so nice, and the wine was great! They took the time to explain the wines in great detail, and we ended up buying a bottle of the 2915 Syrah. I have never had a Syrah that I’ve liked this much.

Mike duToit

Great everything. Highly recommend. Also looks like they're open all year long and doesn't take a typical osoyoos break in the shoulder or winter seasons.

Tudor Davies

Excellent wines, extremely helpful staff. A really pleasant experience indeed.

Declan Bostock

The food was fantastic!!! I came in the summer of 2017 and it was amazing! The service was great, the food was out standing! I'm not usually a fan of Indian food, but this was different. They also have suggestions for wines to try with the different dishes which was amazing. I can't wait until I come back next summer

Very enjoyable experience. They are very Covid aware and practicing safe procedures. The winner tasting was enjoyable and well explained and presented by our male sommelier. Excellent wines. Nicely finished. Easy to make a choice. Prices are fair. The wine tasting experience is only $5, and is waved if you purchase wine. A great value. I think they are confident you will be buying wine. We tried a lot of wines. We purchased wine. I would highly recommend Kismet Winery. You won't be disappointed. They have a restaurant on the premises as well. It was very busy. We didn't try the food.

kollenberg74

Great food and atmosphere.

I like my food spicy and there was no spice added to mine at all. Just tasted bland.

My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited sixty wineries. You can follow our various locations with this disclaimer. That’s sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired. It was fate, destiny even, that Kismet Estate Winery would be our penultimate visit on our second day of our wine tour. See what I did there? Yeah, I know, it wasn’t clever at all. Kismet was in truth our first winery this day, but it had yet to open, so we ended up passing by on our way back to the hotel. I enjoyed Kismet immensely, for a reason which does not appear immediately obvious. In a sea of repetitiveness where the majority of wineries all share the same shade of mustard seed paint, I applaud Kismet for embracing a rusty red coat. It also boasts a very nifty logo dominating one wall, a cross between a skeksis from The Dark Crystal and the door-knocker from Labyrinth (double Jim Henson reference for the win). And finally, and I know it’s not entirely appropriate to bring this up, the owners and staff are members of an ethnicity rarely seen in the region. The name of the restaurant, Kismet Masala Bistro, should be a giveaway. I think this is fantastic, a refreshing shift in both presentation, manners, and cuisine against the customary French/Italian fusions. Alas, the restaurant, presently open and welcoming, had yet to open last summer when we arrived. The interior is not as impressive as the exterior, just a simple bar with shelves of wine. However, it was here we discovered bead trails. Some of you laugh, and others need an explanation; basically, nearly every winery from Osoyoos to Kelowna sells their own uniquely shaped bead, which can only be acquired (so goes the claim) at the winery. Most are designed to relate to the winery in question—some even have two. My girlfriend, who was discovering quickly that she cannot handle wine in large quantities without passing out for eight hours and waking up with a chip larger than Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction, discovered her purpose. While I drank, she would collect these trinkets, probably the motivation behind visiting sixty wineries. From this point on, we wouldn’t visit a location unless it had a bead, and would go out of our way, detouring for thirty minutes in some cases, to acquire a single one. Dedication. It started at Kismet. The problem was, it was the end of day two. It was 5:00, with most places closing at 5:30. And with that, we loaded into our car and raced around every winery we had been two in the last two days to pick up beads, a habit we would not break. As for the wines, Kismet is a strong player in the region, though I admit breaking from traditional in claiming their strongest bottles are their dessert wines. I mean, seriously, their cabernet franc icewine is to die for. So yeah, Kismet, great place with great people. Hit it up. You wouldn’t normally think Indian food pairs well with wine, and you’d be wrong. It works.

amazing wine and friendly service from knowledgeable staff. very clean. electric car charging in the parking lot is a nice bonus. the bistro is also very good.

kismat Awesome in one word!

Ed Kliewer

Once again, fantastic wines and great food. Kismet always satisfies.

Love this winery!! The family is so gracious, and the tasting fee is waived if wine is purchased. They are managing the number of people inside the winery at the door, so reservations are not taken nor required. Dinner after a tasting ensures a great experience, food is delicious! Highly recommend.

Sharon Price

We had tasted wines at this winery before. The owner was personable and offered us good information on the wines Our visit yesterday was disappointing. The woman who offered the tasting was not friendly and offered no info on the wines.

Beautiful winery and restaurant nestled in the wine country of southern Okansgan. Masala bistro is beautiful. Enjoyed veg pakoras. Aroma of Indian spices with rolling vineyards offer a mesmerizing vista. Service was good. Staff is pleasant. Do make a stop. Rustling of century old cotton woods just adds to the charm. Electric car chargers too.

The restaurant and the staff are top scale...! The seafood quattro has to be one of the best on the menu.

We were disappointed with the food. The sauce with the mussels was very bland. No taste to make me want to order again or reccomend to others. We also ordered a $45 bottle of white wine which the hostess suggested, again no taste. Very disappointed. The washrooms were not checked often enough for cleanliness. One sink had barf in it. Disgusting for the person who left the mess but shame on the restaurant for not catching it sooner. Would I return...NO

Best Indian food I've ever had! Chef Howard pays attention to every detail, the servers were friendly and accommodating. Try the arctic char. It's am amazing locally sourced item with a tandoori twist. Incredible!

Wonderful experience, they make use some of the lesser grown varietals in the valley ie: Orange Muscat in the Safid white, yum :). Be sure to check out the Masala bistro while you are there, an unexpected pleasure enjoying great Indian food while overlooking the vines!

Claudia Diers-Lienke

Knowledgeable staff, excellent wines and a wonderful story around the founding Indian brothers. Food at the restaurant is amongst the best Indian we ever had. Definitely recommended!

Went there on Sept. 3 at 2:15pm for what we thought was going to be a wonderful eating experience. The place was very quiet only three tables busy waited a few minutes to be seated We were seated not there 5 minutes waitress comes up from behind with a tray of water and dumps the water on my wife clearly an accident my wife's nice white outfit is soaked waitress grabs cloths used for wiping tables off and hands them to my wife no thanks we left immediately with not a word of appologe from waitress or hostess on duty. Very bad service not even o A word of let's try to make this situation better. Nothing. We left very angry and will not be back. There is an old saying one tells ten of experience well there will be more than 10

I visited this winery with friends expecting a grand experience from the online reviews. We visited the bistro, and waited 10 minutes to be seated, staff were not making eye contact to let us know someone will be with us. Not a problem, its Covid, and we expect a delay. Once seated, we placed our orders. The drinks and food, are simply, extremely overpriced. Theres no justification for those prices. If the food was delicious, I would understand the pricing, which includes the view and the experience. What we received was not authentic Indian food. It was not even 50% Indian. The winery would do very well if they could step up with more authentic cooking.

Our first time will not be our last. Great summer anniversary evening at a beautiful venue. The staff were so friendly and made us feel special. We had the Tandoori Arctic Char as our main and they did not disappoint, we left only bones on the plate. Thanks to all at Kismet Estate, a better dining experience you will not find

3 Of us had lunch here last week. We ordered 1 butter chicken and 2 chicken curry, the curries were quite good apparently, but I ordered the mildest butter chicken available and could not eat it as it was too spicy for me. The accompanying salad was very bland and only sliced carrots, lettuce and a few other vegetables with no sauce. We were all disappointed in the portion size when compared to the the cost. All in all, we left still hungry and disappointed with our $104.00 lunch bill (including tax and 15% gratuity). Too bad, as the patio, location and views are outstanding! Unfortunately we will not return to this bistro again and cannot recommend to others.

chelsey lockerby

We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary at Kismet and had the most amazing time! Our server knew our names as we entered the restaurant and lead us to a special table with fresh cut flowers. The food was incredible, to match the service and attention to detail. Highly recommend!

One of the best little wineries in the Osoyoos/Oliver area. Very reasonable priced wine for the quality. Restaurant is fantastic, especially if you can enjoy the patio. Some of the best Indian food I have ever enjoyed.

Beautiful family run winery! Gagan was super kind and knowledgeable during our tasting. The grounds are very nice to walk around. The cherry on top was the elderly woman sitting under a tree, who greeted us and spoke to us for a good 5 minutes. She really made us feel welcomed! We will be visiting again and trying out the Bistro as well!

I'm Indian and this food is some of the best food I've eaten at restaurants all over Canada!!! Amazing and such a beautiful family with an amazing story. We ate the chilli chicken, hummus, eggplant, chicken korma, biriyani and lamb masala. All incredible true Indian dishes.

So glad Kismet was recommended for a meal. We eat plenty of South Asian food in Vancouver so were dubious at first but it was astonishingly good. The samosas (even the naan) were the best we've ever had. Good wine, too.

Excellent visit and a very interesting range of wines. Great initiative by all involved and aside from the obvious passion (which is lovely) they clearly know what they're doing.

phil horrocks

Wow was looking forward to going here But WOW Girl at front made us feel like Lepers because we didn't have a reservation! Said we would sit anywhere , we were taken to a table very clean menu basically thrown on table and then nothing! Sat there for fifteen minutes no service no mention of their wines no one asking if we would like a drink! in fact there were more staff than customers !! So we decided to leave nobody even asked why we were leaving and staff were all standing around the area! What was surprising is that the Bistro was almost empty and that they are not set up for customers who have been in tasting room!! I understand that Covid-19 has been hard on companies, but a least put a sign out front saying no RESERVATIONS NO SERVICE!!

Scott Wood

We had a lovely wine tasting with the lovely Laura at the wine counter. Laura was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had lunch in the bistro and had some amazing Indian fair. You can't miss this destination when visiting Oliver.

Fantastic wine, amazing food, lots of vegetarian options. Service friendly. Atmosphere is casual. Would give it 5 stars if they were not in the middle of construction. Nail gun in the back ground not so wonderful but waitress makes up for it.
