Enjoyed a working lunch break at Descendants. Nothing fancy - but friendly, big open space with big social harvest tables and lots of window light. Order at the bar from an ever changing list of taps. In my opinion, the brewers at Descendants have got their craft figured out - everything I've tried has been flavourful and fresh. Lunch options are simple - nothing fried - and served quickly. Had the grilled cheese - really good! Perfect pairing with a cold pint. Certainly beats sitting at home on my computer!

We had our wedding reception here. With about 90 guests, there was loads of seating and room to spare for a dance floor and food service. The exposed ceiling, brick walls and brewing equipment meant that we didn't have to decorate. Which made the day much easier. We had an open bar, so our guests got to enjoy trying all of the available beers. As well as a couple wines and liquor options. The staff was top notch. From the planning stages (we live in Calgary so planning was tricky) through the night they were on point and were able to help spot issues before they arose. At no point in the night did anyone find themselves wanting for anything. We were are fairly big drinkers, but there never seemed to be a lineup at the bar. Big thanks to Mel and Stephen for everything. I'd definitely recommend Descendants to anyone looking for a versatile and unique event space.

We come for musical bingo often! Great atmosphere and so welcoming! We are a large group of co-workers turned friends and we range from our early 30’s to our 60’s and we all have a blast! Of course we also enjoy the selection of beers and snacks ???????? if your a group of 10 or more, and it’s a popular night best to make a reservation however most guests are super friendly and welcoming, we have spread out over a couple of tables and made some new friends for the evening!

99.9% of servers were amazing. I attended a private function where the whole bar was closed/reserved. Food and beer/drinks were lovely. They only get 2 stars because Matt, an inexperienced bartender, was incredibly rude, which was anomaly to the rest of the staff's attitude. I hope they are able to correct this one staff's attitude or let him go.

The beer I had was good. The burger I had was good. Decent price for a burger and a pint (Monday special.) My issue was ordering 2 burgers on same transaction and being roughly 10 min between the time each burger arrived at the table. Given the quality of food and beer for price point I'd go again to see if lack of kitchen coordination is a one off or typical. Update: We gave this venue another chance. They have proved to be utterly understaffed or lack all coordination in their kitchen. Nearly 2 hours for an order or pretzels. I doubt I'll be spending my money here again.

Our favourite craft beer in the region, hands down. I never really liked beer until I had a few friends take me to Descendants to sit in (in November) to celebrate graduating from my MA. The service is amazing, the vibes of the indoor seating hall are chill and welcoming, and the beer selection is fantastic. There is such attention to detail in the product but also in the experience from the moment you walk in the door, to the moment you leave. Since the lockdown in ON we’ve gone in to pick up some beers and have had a bunch of our friends and family hooked on DBBC beer. During the holidays I grabbed a bunch to stuff into some local goods Christmas gift baskets for friends - well received and enjoyed by all of our loved ones. We can’t wait to get back in person but until then we’ll enjoy our sours from our living room.

I've been a regular visitor of Descendants over the last few years, especially for music bingo nights, and i've always enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and great beer. That being said, the last few times I've come in to buy beer, there has been a child running around with no shoes or mask on (who appears to be at an age to know better). While I can understand being a working parent during the pandemic can be difficult, and at times you will need to bring your child with you, there should be some safety protocols in place. As a customer and a parent myself, I shouldn't be having to tell someone else's child to maintain social distancing while they're running around . I've previously come in to see this child climbing over brewing equipment with no shoes on which doesn't seem incredibly sanitary. Aside from pandemic protocols, I'd assume it would be incredibly dangerous for anyone to be running around shoeless with the amount of machinery there is in that back area. The fact that I've come in to both this child, and an older gentleman behind the bar maskless a few times makes me hesitant to even come back. Hopefully the next time I come in, COVID protocols are being taken more seriously.

We booked our baby shower at the descendants this past July for around 50 people. The team was amazing. They were very helpful and very accommodating with all my requests. The food was great and we were allowed to bring our own cake. We also had a bunch of kids show up and people working gave us some games so we could entertain them. They also happen to have a live music event at the same time which was pretty awesome since we made use of the music and had fun too. Definitely book with them, they are amazing!!!

I was at Descendants for an informal work event and it was a very enjoyable experience. We had Brena as our guide for the brewery. She was well versed with the subject matter and turned the tour into an interactive session of Q and A's mixed with jokes! The staff overall too, is very friendly and hospitable. The selection of beer is very good and the appetizers go well with the booze. I recommend trying the paddle with 4 beers. I have another event booked here in September and I'm excited to see how that one goes- Descendants have definitely set the bar high now (no pun intended :P)

Went here for the first time on a trivia night, it was well organized and super fun. Wide selection of beer, the one I tried was called a "cerveza" style which I really enjoyed. We shared the charcuterie plate, everything was great on it but thought the bread could have been nicer. Good sized parking lot around back. I would go again!

Seems like a popular place with the college crown. Music is good, beer is ok. $10 for a flight is a bit greedy though. Pro-tip: order at the bar instead of sitting at a table and waiting...nobody is coming for you.

Great place to hang out with friends. Had a beer and tried their amazing foot long hot dog. It was so good I was debating getting another one! They also have a bean bag toss game in the back which we spent way too much time on. Their menu is decent with a few things to choose from but they didn't have the dark beer that I like since they usually have that off season

Hosted my wedding reception here on Saturday. Absolutely fantastic! I was planning the event from over-seas and Bonnie/the team were beyond patient with me, very responsive and so helpful. They were flexible with how I wanted to decorate, which I didn't find at other breweries. The food and cocktails were great too, we had very minimal outside catering - so the fact that all 80+ guest were fed on time from their kitchen was amazing! Being able to use their digital screen above the bar to show photos was also a great personal touch. It was exactly the relaxed wedding reception I wanted - HIGHLY recommend.

The beer and service were equally terrible. Purchased several cans to take home and would compare them all to mediocre home brew. The person serving us clearly lacks customer service skills.
