Was in a bind not getting to LC in time. Even though Ellement did not carry what I normally buy at LC they were quick to suggest wines in the same wheel house. I also called this order in as I was driving there (hands-free of course) and they were happy to pick two wines without much further discussion than what my red and blush likes and dislikes were. Two bottles ready at counter when I arrived. Tap for pay and out the door. Very helpful and convenient Thank you. PS liked both wines too!!

Ellement also has a great range of spirits and liqueurs that you won't find elsewhere, and non-alcoholic options like their range of Amaro sodas. Downstairs is okay-ish, but if you want good stuff, go upstairs, their Armagnac collection as well as other European liquors is quite impressive. (Pricey, as well, sometimes, but if you want an old Armagnac, you will pay for it, even in France.)

I see some reviews were written earlier when the store was not named Ellement. I am writing about Ellement as a visitor to Winnipeg who just wanted to buy a couple of bottles to take back to my hotel room. I found the downstairs staff reluctantly helpful at best and completely disengaged with customers. The cashier was far more interested in her phone than assisting customers. Boxes were all over the floor blocking bins of wines and in the middle of the aisles with no signs of anyone using them to restock the shelves. This was a serious tripping hazard. Cheese selection was sparse and boring. Will not go back. Will walk farther next time.

I searched for many months a famous cheese made by the Trappist Monks of Holland, Manitoba. I finally was able to locate it at Fenton's. My only problem is that I live in Montreal. I contacted Mo at Fenton's and he was kind enough to send it to me. The shipping was fast (2 days) and the cheese arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. I highly recommend his business.
