Burgers were okay, beers were old school. Not cheap. All about the location. Had a good time, but just basic pub fare. Watched a ball game on high chaired tables. They had a fire place and a great wide windowed view of the downtown park. Old school wooden bar area.

At first the pub seemed fun and a good mood in the room. A good choice to order from on the menu and beer list. However my Shock Top which is a craft draft was not fresh and seemed almost stale. I ordered the game BRGR and it came out burnt. Black and crispy. It was disgusting. I had a long day and was hungry so I ate some of it but never again. The waitress seemed too busy with the male guest at the bar to check on us or refill our drinks. Bad experience, bad food, won’t be back.

Do not recommend. Let me start with the waitress, who was rushy , couldn't even get our burgers the way we wanted them cuz she just pushed and then left. Then the burger I got was super gross, the bread was soggy and so were some of the fries. Cut half my bun off because I was starving and just ate it. The fries I got to the end before I got the soggy ones, yuck.

We always stop here for lunch/dinner when we are passing through. Their food is fantastic (huge portions) the pricing is reasonable, staff is friendly, and we really appreciate how they follow covid protocols. Makes it a comfortable dining experience.

Be aware of the happy hours and burger special! This place is by far the cheapest place for great food and delicious craft beer. I highly recommended. Happy hours have drinks promo as well! It's so good I went there twice during my stay ????

Favourite local watering hole! Truly a JASPER STAPLE! Very Covid friendly! Great place to have a few beers with wings and watch the game. The cheese loaf is a must have! Friendly staff. Affordable and daily specials available. Always look forward to going to the stop.

Lots of room, music was loud enough to hear but not too loud so we could chat. There are pool tables and televisions. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork tacos and they were delicious. I got a side of sweet potato fries which were good and the sauce with it was fantastic. We also ordered the garlic cheesy bread with sauce and it was amazing and one of the best things I have had. I highly recommend this place.

When I lived in Jasper for a summer and the two other occasions I came on vacation, this is by far the best food in town! Yes it is your classic pub style menu but it's always mouth watering. The service is genuine, they make good conversation, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're at home town bar surrounded by friends.

Passing through Jasper on Sunday afternoon and found this place for a decent Burger and Fries for $7.75! The service was mediocre but don't expect much with the locals drinking the cheap liquor at this time of day. Check out the urinals for a laugh!

Went to Jasper with my friend this week and stopped here for drinks. It was a weekday so a little less busy than they would normally be but we loved it! The bartender was friendly and the drink specials were great! We ended up staying the whole evening! I would recommend checking it out next time you are in Jasper!

Service was great, had a beer, and some Nachos with pulled pork. Nachos were a generous portion and layered. Pulled pork was great on them but would have liked more of it. As mentioned, it seems a little crunchy (over cooked) but I think that's to make sure the layered cheese was melted fully. Will go again for sure .

If you're in Jasper and want to grab a beer and some pub food, this is a great place. It appears to be very popular with the locals, which is always a good sign. The staff was super nice and attentive. Drinks are very affordable. Will definitely grab another beer the next time we're in town.

COVID 19 or not, there is no excuse for the food we were served today for lunch at around 2:00 pm. First, our first two choices from their Beer menu were not available. Ok, no biggie. Second, we ordered chicken tenders (4 pieces for $15) and fish and chips (1 piece for $17). For that price a kitchen needs to do more than reheat bags of frozen food. The fish batter was undercooked in some places. The fries for both dishes were limp, mushy, and luke warm and we didn't finish. The coleslaw I spit out and the mayonnaise dip for the fish had a skin on it from sitting on the counter too long. The frozen chicken tenders were fine. We finished those. To the manager/owner. Your kitchen needs to make something fresh that a customer wants to buy. I suspect, however, because you don't rely on a lot of return customers you think you can get away with substandard food. Pity.

Bought my family of 4 bacon and cheese flamebroiled burgers with all the fixins and fries for 44 bucks. In jasper thats dyn-o-mite! And it was delicious and hot. Absolutely recommend the cheeseburger and fries special for 10.95!

Fairly standard and friendly pub with decent prices (for Jasper). Seat yourself and someone will come around for table service. Wish they had a selection of local beers on tap, but other than that no complaints. Okay selection of gluten free options if you need that.

The atmosphere was cozy and large enough for our group get together. The menu was pretty standard but lacked GF dishes and drinks were good but a bit on the pricey side for 1oz. For food I ordered the French Onion Soup and the chicken fettuccine Parmesan, I was blown away by the French Onion Soup (100% recommend ordering it, best I've ever had and I will be getting again for sure). On the other hand though the chicken fettuccine Parmesan though had some major issues. There was absolutely no flavor to the dish even with the assistance of adding salt/pepper and the Parmesan (for me flavor is everything and can makeup for other problems). The other problem with the dish was that the fettuccine was not cooked long enough and when this is brought to the attention of our server the dish was brought back with a pile of sauce in the middle and heated up. Even with the mountain of sauce that was added there was no flavor to be found anywhere (Insane right?!). Overall: Drinks $$, good atmosphere, menu selection lacks GF options. Recommendations: French Onion Soup 100% give it a try, perfect balance of croutons and broth. Avoids: Chicken Fettuccine Parmesan, lacked any sort of essence of flavor and was not cooked enough.

The fish and chips were absolutely phenomenal. My husband is from New Zealand and I lived there for two years, so I know my fish and chips. But upgrade to the sweet potato fries because the regular fries are fine but the sweet potato fries are amazing. Service was great too.

Excellent! Had the Wild meat burger with beef vegetable soup. Scrumptious! However the Burger was difficult to hold without it Falling Apart. I think a "Kaiser Bun" would have been "Much Better" instead of the regular McGavins "White" bun which is so lame. Nice atmosphere with very polite staff. Also had a "Red Elk" craft dark ale which was very good. Definitely a worthwhile pit stop on your journey thru Jasper, Alberta. Check it out, you will not be disappointed. Cheers ★ ♥ :) :)

Food is good portions are also very good for a tourist town. Watch your orders really well on takeout especially first thing in the morning. Check everything before you leave. They forgot tarter sauce on one order and cheese on the other. As well as some coleslaw. They were very willing to fix in though.

Called there last night to get food just before midnight. there was some really rude man who answered. I asked him a simple question, he told me they were closed and hung up. Keep in mind, this is two hours before it’s posted that they closed. I was going to be a paying customer, but not for that attitude. I don’t appreciate these employees thinking they can treat people however they like with no consequences. why answer the phone if you’re closed just to be rude to people?

If you're passing through Jasper hungry, and you don't want the full tourist treatment, it's hard to beat the Whistle Stop for a burger and a pint. As near to a local pub as can survive in a major tourist town in today's market. Banff no longer has any similar place.

The first night we were here the wings and the service were great. The French onion soup and the nachos were lean on the cheese. Nachos heavy on chips and French onion soup had very few onions and too much spice. The second night we came, it was a different wait staff, our waitress obviously wished she was somewhere else. I ordered the same wings as I had last night, and was surprised to find that they were completely different, much hotter and no crisp like the first night. I still tipped much more (about 13%) than I should have and was not appreciated in any way. Consistency would go a long way here!

This place was great. Besides the cheap prices and great beer selection, the service was awesome. Smitty did not hesitate to offer his favourite meal choice which was awesome. He was attentive and welcoming. 2 pool tables and a nice variety of seating arrangements such as high chairs, bar seats, smaller comfort chairs as well as a section by the fireplace was a nice touch. The great burger did not disappoint and neither did the veggie burger.

Great food. The only reason why I give it 1 star is due to the service. No one greats you. Everyone at the bar just stares till you pick a spot. There were three women behind the bar (on a Wednesday afternoon when it was not busy) not doing anything. The least they could do is say hello and be friendly. Even a smile would be nice. You are in the service industry for Pete sakes. Our server ( I do believe Jen) was clearly having a bad day and taking it out on the patrons. She was short and rude and acted like it was an inconvenience that we were there. I wouldn't return due to the incompetent service. There are many other great places to choose from to have a enjoyable experience.
