Here you will see the opinions of real people like you who are purchasing the services and products of Tekarra Restaurant (Winery) in the territory close to Jasper (Canada).
At present the firm gets a rating of 4.2 stars out of 5 and that rating was based on 48 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is really positive, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we can be pretty sure that the valuation is very credible. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they are happy with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to put evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery is classified in the category of Restaurant.
I went to Tekarra after reading a great review in an Australian Newpaper. It did not dissapoint. From a very humble setting in the woods, you almost miss the restaurant. But once in side the cosy atmosphere is wonderful, but best of all the food is better than what you would get in most large cities. From the Amuse bouche and throughout the locally selected cuisine the food was magnificent and on par with any michellen star restaurant.
(Translated) It is not cheap, but very tasty, for those who are looking for pampering and special gourmet dishes, excellent service (Original) זול זה לא, אבל טעים מאד, למי שמחפש מנות גורמה מפנקות ומיוחדות, שירות מעולה
Amazing food in a very rustic location. Family run restaurant. The bison short rib was spectacular.
Great food, perfect portion sizes and you get to colour on the table while you wait.
Really enjoyed this place after a long day hiking in the Jasper National Park. The waitress was really friendly. Ordered this Bison Short Rib dish.... most exquisite .... if they still have it on the menu, I would highly recommend it.
the greatest food in Alberta, if not Canada. The chef David Husereau is one of the greatest men to touch food. eat here you won’t regret it
(Translated) Delicious expensive but worthwhile service (Original) טעים שירות יקר אך שווה
Place is right next to the athabasca river and you could walk over to the lookout after a meal to enjoy the natural Vista. The food is as grand as that close by view. The cheese plate is wonderful, but I only wished there was more of that lovely pretzel roll they give you. The bison short ribs portion is massive. The meat melts off of the bone and is a great hearty meal after a long day of hiking. The apple struddle was luckily not that big, otherwise I probably would have KO'd there and then. It also was more like a middle slice if apple pie than a struddle though. Didn't matter though since it tasted fine. Great romantic spot to end the day.
Fine dining place with some unique dishes. Nice presentation of the food. The small plates in the menu are smaller than expected, not typical for Albertan restaurants.
Great location. Food was good. Very good service, especially liked their Covid protocol. We felt very safe. Only reason for only 4 stars is the price.
Great food, friendly staff, and nice venue.
Amazing food and great service loved the setting overall iy was a great experience
We (two hungry shirts) could not choose among the appetizers, so we wound up making a wonderful meal of four of them. The brie was the clear winner, but the beets weren't far behind.
Excellent food and service
Did not eat there because greeter turned us away at door. She said that almost the entire place was reserved for others. We were told we three could come back in three hours. Only three of their nearly 30 tables had customers. No one else was waiting for a table. Unbelievable.
We’ve had the pleasure of eating here twice this year and both times were absolutely delicious- our favourite restaurant in Jasper.
Not sure why the restaurant didn’t take this entertainment book coupon and it was kinda of embarrassing that it was our first time that one vendor doesn’t take the coupon from entertainment book. I mean if you don’t want to give out the discount why advertise yourself in the entertainment book? We got the App from entertainment book and we showed them and they refused to give out the discount saying never seen it before and they don’t even have a code for it...Food was very delicious and high quality and service was good too. Jus a bit disappointed and embarrassed.
The food was not good. I have the pasta with salmon. The salmon was sogy and the pasta didn't taste like anything. I do not recommend this restaurant. Not worth the price nor the quality.
This restaurant was suggested to us after we had dinner that Evil Dave's. They are owned by the same people but different menus! I really enjoyed my food.
great restaurant.
Awesome food, very generous portions, and super friendly service.
Wonderful food and drinks! The best restaurant I found in the Canadian Rockies.
This is our second time having dinner at Takarra. A fantastic family owned eatery. Our server was Sierra (if I am not mistaken), wonderful lady who was willing to put up with all of my menu questions. What kind of salmon, what kind of venison? Of course Sierra asked the kitchen, it was Atlantic salmon, venison, red???? Given that we are in Alberta I am guessing Mule or Whit Tail deer. Antelope are not native to Western Alberta. I digress! My wife had the Elk Stroganoff and I had the Crepe Supreme. The Elk Stroganoff was fantastic, tender meat portions with a great sauce. I would have liked a few wild mushrooms, then again it wasn't my meal. My wife loved it. As for the Crepe Supreme, excellent! Just the right portion. The mix of smoked chicken, wild boar with the forest mushrooms and the cream fraiche was just right. A nice light meal. Really enjoyed learning a little more about Tekarra and supporting a family business. We will be back!!
Really dissapointed...probably the worst restaurant experience I've had in Jasper. I ordered smoked salmon sushi. I understand that it's under the small plate call him but honestly what you get is nowhere near worth the price of $17+tx+resort fee. you get 6 medallions about one centimetre thick each. All in all when you put them together it's about 1/2 to 3/4 the size of your typical hand roll and 80% of it is either rice or the deep fried panko crumb. The flavour was also nothing to write home about and came purely from the spicy mayo and a brown sauce that was drizzled on top. I would probably never order something like this again especially as it was nothing different from a grocery store hand roll that I could probably get at about half the price. The restaurant advertises itself in various Jasper magazines as a foodie Paradise what I was served today hardly fits the description.
Excellent, Food, Atmosphere and the service was second to none. Definitely worth the price and we'll back again.
Sad to be posting a poor review, as Tekkera used to be a favourite. Our meal was “ok” but certainly not what we’d expect from Jasper, and specifically Tekerra. Our server seemed scattered and rushed despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Most disappointing was the meal itself - a couple of the items weren’t that fresh and another item served barely warm temp when it should been hot. With so many amazing choices in Jasper it’s unlikely we’ll return, which is too bad as previous experiences in past years were top notch.
(Translated) Delicious. Gorgeous decor. (Original) Délicieux. Décor magnifique.
Great food warm casual service. Short ribs are Devine.
Unbelievable food and service!
Not worth the price. Sat there with an empty wine glass and had to request another one as server didn't come around. We also sat with our dirty dishes in front of us for a while (unacceptable for those prices) The girl who greeted us when we first entered the restaurant was on her phone for most of the evening. Overall not impressed.
We were recommended this restaurant by a friend and we were not disappointed. We have been coming to Jasper for years and cannot believe that we had not eaten at this little gem until the other night. To put it clearly, the food was absolutely outstanding. I had the bison short ribs with the "bacon jam," to die for, highly recommend. Both the apple strudel and the chocolate tart for dessert were impeccable as well. The best way I can describe this place is high quality dining with a quaint, whimsical charm. Each table was adorned with fresh flowers and a brown paper tablecloth complimentary with crayons for those interested in soaking up the whole experience. In top of that the service was fantastic as well. Cannot say enough great things and we will definitely be back!
Best meal we had in Jasper. So good we went twice. The $$$$ is worth it.
Slow service and expensive as if it's a culinary experience, but neither the food quality nor ambiance fit that description. Overall experience was 2.5 hours to get an appetizer and 2 entrees delivered, where we were graciously blessed with a single water refill through the muggy experience. Even requesting the water refill had a 25 minute wait, despite there being 3 waitresses for the 15 patrons. Our only theory on the slow pace is that they had to catch the quail from the wild prior to serving it, which must have required the full staff given the pace of water refills. However, the quail was dry to the point that it had to be under a heat lamp for most of the 2 hours wait, and at that point I wished the quail had escaped to live a full life in the forest while we ate elsewhere. I felt like apologizing to the dish. There are so many wonderful locations to eat in Jasper with great things to do in the evening, don't waste your time here.
Attended the Tekarra Restaurant for our Son's wedding reception. The service was excellent, very attentive staff, the food was first class. Having dietary issues I was assured as to what I could choose from the menu. Everything on the menu was very tempting. Finally went with the Bison, OMG it was melt in the mouth! I was also able to have dessert (something that very rarely happens when eating out), that was adapted for my needs, also delicious. Thank you it's a shame I live so far away otherwise I would eat there more often!
Amazing food and menu!Great service, I absolutely will return.
