Mediocre food. expensive price. Beautiful views of the lake.

Locate inside Jasper Park Lodge. They have extensive buffet for breakfast but gets busy in the morning as it is only restaurant open except for coffee shop. Dinner menu is mostly Pasta with few other entrees. The view over the lake is spectacular with picture windows.

They are open late and the service is good. The food however, was not enjoyable; which is odd because there isn't much to chose from.

Amazing food and ambiance Was rather pricey, but I guess you pay for the view ! Music was upbeat

Only set menu. Nice location. Food was good, but extremely overpriced. Just standard food, no creativity. This is not really fine dining. Would not go again.

Very good food at this Fairmont Hotel restaurant. Waterfront view is spectacular. Service was professional.

True Italian style dish with it's own character and lots of flavour. The foods have unique taste not comparable to any other Italian style restaurants. The menu changes everyday to provide everyday special feeling. The food portion is small that allows to try more dishes on the menu with reasonable price.

Had the most amazing meal here. We let the teeam know a day before that everyone in out party was vegan and the chef came to ur table with some different vegan options he could do for us! The food and drinks were specyaculat as was the service. Can't wait for our next stay at JPL!

We came here for our anniversary dinner and were very disappointed. The service is excellent but that's about all that was great. Our steaks were extremely undercooked and one of them was tough and chewy. Our brocolini was barely even cooked. The appetizers were good but really just 2 small bites. For a fine dining restaurant we really expected the food to be top notch. We provided feedback and the server and manager removed the additional charge for the meat which was appreciated. However, we ended up paying 68 dollars per person for the tiniest appetizer, subpar mashed potatoes, cauliflower and hard brocolini and ice cream for dessert. (We also thought it was strange that the hostess was the only person not required to wear a mask). If you are looking for a nice meal I'd probably avoid this restaurant and try some of the other places in town.

Had the Sunday brunch and it was worth every penny! My wife and I loved the food and the ambience. Every item on the menu was amazing and our server was very friendly and courteous. It's an all you can eat and we definitely over-ate but no regrets whatsoever lol. We enjoyed walking around the lake after our meal as well. One of my top brunch experiences ever.

It's completely overpriced for the quality. Soup was lukewarm and salty. Main course was OK. Markup on wine is abusive - 300%! On these prices you would expect to notch food and service. Well that was not the case, unfortunately.

We had breakfast here while seated by the window with a breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. We skipped the buffet (which did look amazing) and ordered off the menu. I had the healthy start, this consisted of two poached eggs over market fresh grilled asparagus, red pepper, spinach and crispy oven baked potatoes. My Husband had the omelette that came with a side of the same crispy potatoes. Others in our party ordered the cinnamon roll french toast and they described it as the best french toast they had ever eaten. Coffee was good, OJ fresh squeezed and service was attentive.

What an easter treat. Dinner at orso was a true delieght. The starter was the breath taking view. My food starter was the rabbit which tasted like corn fritters with a lovely sause. My wife had the starter winner of scallops and sausage. The main coarse winner went to me with the salmon. My wife had the tortellini which tasted like it was wrapped in pastry instead of pasta. The sause made the meal over the moon. The desert for me was chocolate and raspberry mouse. My wife had the lemon and maragne which was delicious. God bless Canada and God bless Orso.

My most recent experience was abysmal, the restaurant has clearly gone downhill since my last visit. The breakfast menu was all of the same with a few new additions seemingly designed by someone without a palette. The buffet was a disaster with a mess of dried out food and canned fruit and the floor was so sticky it was trying to steal my shoe. Even the coffee could not save this experience as it was watered down and tasteless.

The food was mediocre for the price. The service was sub par. We had a large group with a $4700 bill that they refused to split. After our inital complaints, they offered a $200 voucher which doesn't even cover the gratuity charge on the bill. We had the same group the evening before at Earls in Jasper and it was better in every facet.

Overall, a great experience! Excellent service and amazing view. Their menu changes so what they have there might not be the same as the menu online. I had the mushroom ravioli, lamb ragu and crostata - all delicious!

We had Kieran as a server, he was great, very informative, very into it his job. He made it an enjoyable experience.

We were not able to eat here till our last night as Orso requires reservations. Out of all the restaurants in Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, this was our best meal here. Keep in mind, the menu is a set 3-course meal at $68 with steaks at an additional cost on top. We both started with Asparagus and Halbiut. It had a very clean taste which allowed you to taste the halibut meat with sharp basil flavors injected into each bite. The grilled asparagus offer texture which the bursts of salt complimented the overall dish. I could eat this all day! For my main course, I chose the Sardinian Fregola. My preference for pasta is a red sauce. This dish did not disappoint. The tomato flavor tasted fresh and added acid to the pasta. The pasta were cooked perfectly with the slightest al dente texture. The shrimp was plump and the sausage was the right meat to pair with the pasta. Another winning dish for me. My wife had the Lobster Gemelli which she found Decadent and rich. She loved it. However, it wasn't amazing to me as I don't tend to like white sauce. The lobster meat was cooked perfectly though. I rounded out my meal with Rubarb Sorbet which was so refreshing! What a nice finish to today's meal for me!! My wife rounded out her meal with an Expresso Crème Brulee which she thought was great. My kids had the Minestrone soup and Chicken Fingers with Fries. The soup was more for adults as it was a rich broth with crunchy veggies. Normally I find veggies in soup to be soft, but here I found a surprisingly nice crunch with the peas. I would be happy with this soup. The Chicken Fingers with Fries were better cooked in this restaurant than the other restaurants. The chicken Fingers were moist and not dry like we had the other day at one of the sister restaurants. The fries were much fresher in Orso than the other sister restaurant. My kids loved them... as usual. My kids also shared a Vanilla Sundae which they happily wolves down. If you had to choose only one restaurant to eat at in Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, you definitely should choose Orso. Best meal of this vacation, hands down!!!

Amazing food and experience thanks to sumit and all of the staff there who bent over backwards to serve incredible food with memorable views

I celebrated my birthday with 25 other people at Orso Trattoria. The whole experience took 4 hours due to disorganization, poor management and over whelmed service. The food was cold and extremely under whelming as I was expecting much better for the price we paid. Our total bill for the table worked out to just shy of $5000.00 and the service team refused to divide the bill at the end of the night causing confusion of who owed what for costs. I would not recommend and will not be returning.

Homemade pasta was not up to standard, meatballs were unimpressive, drinks were nothing to brag about. The cost was not fitting to the standard of the Jasper Park Lodge and did not meet any of my expectations. Service was adequate. I left my feedback with the Jasper Park Lodge and was told I would be contacted within a few days and have not heard anything for a month. I did not want anything in return but just wanted to make management aware. I am not the type to complain but thought I should share.

What a lovely experience. The food was hot and fresh. There was plenty of variety for everyone's taste. We loved the pastries and the fruit. I found the sausage and smoked salmon to be a little dry, but we also came to breakfast at the tail end of it. So that is to be expected I guess. Our server Sumit was attentive and kept our tea , coffee and juice glasses full.

We had an incredible experience! The service was outstanding. Best Waygu steak ever! Beautiful setting. Great selection of nonalcoholic drinks! They offer a set menu but we were able to pick and choose the dishes we wanted, regardless of the set menu. We defiantly will return. Great night out!

We dined twice at Orso and enjoyed both equally as well. Two different servers each night and the service was great on both occasions.

Service was somewhat cold. For the prices we paid it was very disappointing. We started with the caprese salad, which was fine. Had better. I had the rabbit which was okay but the dish was very one dimensional. My wife had the scallops with lamb polenta (still looking for the lamb). We paid $47 for her dish when similar dishes elsewhere are more in the $30 range. My parents shared a Caesar salad and the chicken dish. My dad's comment was that the chicken at a food court is better. Again, just a piece of chicken with a couple potatoes and a sauce that didn't taste very good. There was very little flavour throughout the dish. No wonder the restaurant only had a few people in it. There are numerous options in and around Jasper that are more affordable and a much better experience as a whole. We left Orso feeling like we paid for the name; since it is in the Fairmont Resort. Definitely won't be back.
