Excellent service and the breakfast sandwich is even more delicious than it sounds, I will definitely stop here again.
Best Ice cream I've ever had no joke. Get the muled wine flavor!! Amazing coffee too.
Amazing food and service. We had the bison pasta and risotto and we were blown away. The food tasted so good. The Austria cake was also delicious. Service was great and they were super friendly.
Great food! Loved the ambiance.
Best restaurant during our 10 day stay in AB yet! My girlfriend and I were in need of a good late night dinner, as we were driving in from Banff (originally from San Francisco), and found this gem. I had the Bison pasta and my girlfriend had the Soba noodles, which I can confirm, was by far the best meal we’ve had in AB. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating, especially Greggory, who told us to enjoy our dinner, even though we ate right before closing, and offered amazing food suggestions with the most professional and knowledgeable insight into each dish. Amazing food. Amazing staff. Amazing restaurant. Thank you!
A hidden gem in Jasper, a bit off the beaten path but 100% worth it! Friendly service, excellent presentation, and most importantly, fantastically delicious food. Standouts were the soba noodles, bison pasta, and trout. Just keep in mind menu items are quite limited (around 5 main dishes), but they do it so well.
Excellent service and great food. It is a bit expensive so be prepared to spend more than you usually do, but sitting outside on the patio and eating their numerous dishes was a great experience. Flavours and taste are better than most restaurants you’ll go to.
Drop what you’re doing and get over to this restaurant. You won’t regret it. We had the most exquisite mushroom omelette with super fresh croissant and the unmissable breakfast bun. I’m still missing it! British travellers.
A small cute spot with a small menu. Everything we ate was amazing. The trout was so good and the charcuterie board was great. The rest of my party all has the fresh pasta with sage and boar and loved it. Also a great wine selection and a few local beer opinions as well. Quiet and wasn't very busy. Quick service.
This place is amazing. Hands down it is one of the best places in Jasper. Reasonably priced and delicious.
Outstanding breakfast and service! The staff was super friendly and helpful and their mushroom omelette and croissant just made our day ???? Would definitely go back again and again and again!
Delicious meal and nice environment!
Dialed in. Bigtime. Get the olives or soba noodles then the duck. Game changer place for Jasper.
Consistently the best food I've had in Jasper National Park. Their service and food is outstanding and I'd eat here again and again
Great meal and service! we're going back for dinner tonight
Regardless if you stay at Pine Bungalows or somewhere else in Jasper (but especially if you stay at Pine Bungalows), check out Kumama. The food is spectacular and so is the service. We stayed at Pine Bungalows for 4 days and had Dinner 3 times and breakfast once from Kumama. They deliver to your cabin to keep you safe in times of COVID-19. No trip to town needed to pick up food. The braised bison pasta, the trout, the charcuterie board, the beet root carpacio, the risotto, ..., and French toast and omelette for breakfast. We sincerely loved every bite!
Hands down the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. After a disappointing brunch in Jasper town yesterday (Harvest), wish we came here each morning on our trip! Small menu but everything looks mouthwatering. Excellent service. Thanks, we’ll be back!!!
(Translated) The service, the setting, the menu, everything is perfect, I want to go back! I highly recommend ! :) (Original) Le service, le cadre, la carte, tout est parfait, j'ai envie d'y retourner ! Je recommande fortement ! :)
Highly recommend Kumama for anyone stopping by Jasper. Expect delicious food and subpar service. I enjoyed the seared trout as well as the braised bison pasta and would highly recommend each. Thanks Gregory and JM for the awesome service and looking forward to coming back!
Best meal I've had in Jasper. A hidden gem. Also a great place to grab a proper coffee.
Highly recommend definitely worth the trip
Want to try something unique? Want to take a break from the busy travel? Want to enjoy a cozy afternoon? You must come here! Love the dishes and dessert, the environment and the music, the table flower and the waiter. Everything is just perfect.
(Translated) Incredible service with Marco and Grégory in the evening: very good explanation of the menu. The dishes are made in a very small open kitchen and the result is excellent. We had the pea and mint risotto and the homemade bison pasta: excellent and super generous portions. The setting is very pleasant inside and outside, we came there two evenings! Thank you to the team and to the manager for their wonderful welcome. I recommend 1000 times.
great!
(Translated) We have adored ! The food is excellent, the plates superb and the service is perfect. Best restaurant of our trip. I highly recommend. (Original) Nous avons adoré ! La nourriture est excellente, les assiettes superbes et le service est parfait. Meilleur restaurant de notre voyage. Je recommande fortement.
We really enjoyed our meal here. We shared the veggie appetizer…unique…and halibut and bison tagliatelle entrees. Both desserts too. Loved it all!
Hidden gem away from theain drag of Jasper. Small meticulously clean and pretty space with amazing food and friendly staff. Even suggested a great trail for me to take my evening run. ????
The nicest staff of anywhere I've been in Alberta. Kind, polite and accommodating. Thank you for your great service. The ambience is also amazing, it is nestled in the middle of the cabins and trees.
So far I've had the great pleasure of having most of the menu. I can't say that I have a favorite as I have enjoyed everything to date. Matched with the great service! Fantastic!! Thank you again!!
My partner and I have had some pretty awful experiences with food in Jasper. The experience we had at Kumama saved our trip. Our server, Gregory, was charming, quick and kind. We had the ginger carrot soup, risotto and trout all of which not only exceeded our expectations but made on stay in Jasper worth while. Thank you for the magical experience we hope to be back very soon, most likely for brunch tomorrow.
Best restaurant in Jasper hands down!!! My boyfriend and I visited Jasper for the first time a couple months ago and we’re surprised to find this little bistro, we were super impressed and came here 3 times during our 3 day stay. Once for dinner, once for drinks, and once for brunch! It’s a small menu, but assures me that everything is fresh. The service and food is great and definitely a hidden gem in Jasper!!!
Kumama was the bright spot in a slew of disappointing meals in town. We thought, “finally, a restaurant that can deliver on the expectations set out by their menu!” Not only did the dishes sound or look good, they actually tasted good — who would’ve thunk it?!? The menu is small but well executed, with vibrant flavours that were a refreshing departure from the sea of standard pub grub and steakhouse fare represented in the area. I could’ve eaten two or three more helpings of the soba noodles! In terms of ambiance, we were digging the cozy cabin vibes and the soothing scent of pine that permeated the space. My one tiny criticism is that they could’ve probably turned up the music to create a livelier atmosphere on a Friday night. It was as if a solemn hush had fallen over the room with everyone barely speaking louder than a whisper. Service delivered by Kat was top-notch. Little things like offering tasters of their housemade soft-serve flavours to help you make a decision are an example of thoughtful touches that go a long way. If the menu had a couple more options for appies and mains, we would’ve probably returned again the next night.
We did not expert this level of good food in Jasper! We got the duck and the taste is very sophisticated with many layers of texture. You can tell that it has a touch of oriental influence. Sorry forgot the photo but got a photo the next day. Cocktail is amazing. We came back the next day since the menu has many interesting items we wanted to try.
Surprising! Beautiful place at 7min from downtown Jasper, in the middle of the woods (yes, we have seen Wapitis). Nice decoration inside, fireplace outside. Food: not a big list of choice but very well cooked and presented. One choice is vege. Service A1
Off the beaten path as a small restaurant at the Pines bungalows...but worth the trip 3 mins on the other side of the train tracks. Small menu but they do it all SO well. Very delicious home made bison pasta and trout was well presented and equally delicious. Excellent 5 star food without the 5 star pricing.
Best meal of my trip. The duck was incredible.
For any foodies out there, this place is for you. After many years of traveling to jasper this might just be my absolute favorite kitchen. The newly owned pines bungalow has a lovely new patio with outdoor fire pit. You can sit gazing at the peak of pyramid mountain in perfect quiet (aside from the odd highway traffic but honestly who cares). It’s so secluded you do feel that old school jasper camping feel. The staff is fantastic. The food is not over done, or to fussy. Very high quality, great ingredients, fantastic flavors. Easily beats our JPL, giving the raven a run for it’s money.
Great food and a very friendly staff. Enjoyed my time here. A must visit if you are in Jasper or passing by.
Unreal food. We drove from Banff to experience the Icefield Parkway but would've done the drive just to come here! We both had the Bison pasta to carb load for hiking and finished with the chocolate torte. I am a big dessert person and the torte was a top ten dessert for me. Thanks for the lovely meal Kumama staff!
A gem off the beaten path. Inventive and excellently executed dishes. Short but curated wine list. Greg’s service was top notch. You can’t go wrong. Will definitely return.
Ask to be seated at table 5/6, right across from the Chef. Great experience, great food, great booze! Definite must do in Jasper
Great breakfast and coffee. Love the atmosphere.
I had the eggs in purgatory with an americano. Cooked/made perfectly. Everything was fabulous! I can't believe how smoothly things are running despite the slow recovery from the pandemic. Seamless, polite, friendly service.
Great dinner! Trout was best I ever had Bison pasta was amazing too! 5/5!!
Love this place, off the beaten path. Outside with a fire, amazing sunset and the bison pasta. Excellent service!
One of the most amazing spots in Western Canada. Hidden in the beautiful Pine Bungalows, Kumama Bistro offers a haven away from the hustle and bustle of real life. The food is outstanding, staff are some of the kindest and attentive I have experienced, and the ambiance is by far a 5 out of 5. I 100% recommend everyone either visiting, living, or driving through Jasper to visit.
We stayed at the Pine Bungalows for two nights and honestly we never expect much from most hotel or tourist location restaurants. We were very wrong. The service was impeccable, thank you JM and Marco for making our time here so special. The food was unreal. We enjoyed two breakfasts and the breakfast sandwich is life changing, as advertised lol. We also had an amazing dinner on the patio and absolutely loved the trout and the bison pasta. Finding fresh ingredients put together in an elevated way is often difficult in overly touristy places, so this place is a gem. The Canteen also blew us away with local products that we stocked up on for our roadtrip home and were so amazing.
We had breakfast here because we were staying at the pine bungalows. The breakfast sandwich was amazing and we will be going back tomorrow to have more of it. The French toast was also delicious. For dinner, we tried the vegetable carpaccio which was quite bland. The trout was pretty good and the bison pasta was delicious. The Caesar drink was not what I was expecting. It came from a bottle, tasted a lot different than standard caesars (thicker, and more like tomato than Clamato), also doesn’t come with a salted rim or any garnishes so that was a bit disappointing. Definitely recommend the breakfast, although probably wouldn’t come back for dinner.
(Translated) Pleasant discovery. Courteous service, excellent food, friendly atmosphere. Without hesitation, I recommend this bistro. (Original) Agréable découverte. Service courtois , excellente nourriture, ambiance conviviale .Sans hésitation je recommande ce bistro .
Just finished dinner at Kumama and though I rarely leave reviews (though I should because I rely on them so heavily) this place just made me feel like I needed to tell people how good it was. Location is a bit secluded but worth the detour!! Service was friendly and welcoming (thank you Gregory and JM!!) Atmosphere is laid back yet trendy. Food is amazing - you can taste the high quality of ingredients and care taken to make each dish. Favourite was the braised bison. If you are in Jasper - do yourself a favour and visit Kumama.
