One of my favourite small wineries
Our final stop of our Canada trip. On the way to a different winery, their sign grabbed us and pulled us in. They were actually having a nice market while we were here, which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Their tasting room is nothing special, but their ciders were well made and had good flavor. My favorite was the Bootleg Spice Whiskey Cider. It was a blend of spiced whiskey and cider, and had fantastic vanilla notes mixed in with a calm effervescence that hit the spot. It’s their most popular cider, and I could see why. From my understanding, they do have some of their ciders available in LCBO locations, but this one is only available at the cidery itself. Their other ciders didn’t really blow me away, but like I said they were tasty and had good flavor.
Omg one of my fave winery's by far it's a very relaxed laid back place I tried the shiny float and it was to die for
Great atmosphere and phenomenal products. Couldn't say anything bad about them.
Came here for a tasting with a group and really enjoyed It! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the wines were great!
Very cute and well done patio. Lots of shade and seating. Ciders were tasty. The mimosa cider was our favourite. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any swag or gift items in their store. It was just a big, dimly lit room with nothing in it. No food for purchase either. The experience would've been a lot more enjoyable had they been serving simple snacks along with the ciders.
Very accommodating and friendly! The wine tasting was affordable compared elsewhere. Ice wine was fantastic and ciders quite nice actually. Will be back.
Fantastic time
Came here today for the last stop of a group wine tour and it was delightful! The woman who served our samples (didn't catch her name unfortunately) was very funny and very nice! The whiskey cider was AMAZING and we brought some home. Only complaint is that we'll drink it fast and won't be able to get it again since we're from NJ! Highly recommend, thank you for a great experience!
Exceptional cider will definitely go again.
Small Talk Vineyards was a great choice for supporting local during the pandemic. We visited just before the lock-down and were able to step inside of the door to choose our alcohol before heading out. I have seen their Shiny Cider before in the LCBO and was actually surprised to see it here. We bought a Pomegranate cider and a wine as a gift. The Pomegranate cider was so flavourful and was recently bottled - locking in the freshness. They give the large cider in a growler which is simply adorable. We also saw that they had a Toasted Marshmallow cider. We were tempted to try it but instead stuck to a safer flavour for our first purchase from the vineyard. I hope to go back after lockdown is over and stock up on their ciders because they are simply SO great. The actual vineyard was extremely well set up with multiple areas to eat and drink as well as photo-ops. Since everything was closed down due to Covid-19, we weren't able to experience everything they offer but are hoping to go back at a later date.
Great cider
Staffs always been great here
Great place for friends, wines, ciders and pop-up handmade vendors
Amazing experience! Great flights of cider and wine, took a few back home since it was so good. Staff are knowledgeable, music was good and overall just a great drive by stop in!
Fun, friendly and unique experience. They have some really lovely wines both red and white as well as some ciders that were not to my taste however popular with the rest of the crowd. Definitely worth checking out!
We tried 5 of their ciders, the limited ice wine infused cider was to die for. Loved the whiskey infused cider too. It is a must stop The people working there are a pleasure to talk too ☺️
This is my favorite winery/ cider place to visit. It's so charming, fun atmosphere and they have the best ciders known to man!
Goat yoga on the premises! What a treat???? Great pictures to be taken in the vineyards here. Wonderful wines, and Growlers ???? Great experience and fun staff.
I love this place so much We bought some of their Chardonnay and are heading home eagerly to drink it. ????????
Great place. Very friendly staff. Very reasonable prices.
The wines were alright but the decor is tacky. They do have great sparkling cider though!
Great products. Staff is wonderful. A small, well run winery. Their cider products are great as well. Lots of bus tours came thru during our visit. A definite must see winery in Niagara.
Your one stop for Premium, Handcrafted wines and hard ciders which the selection is great! Great colorfull Branding and really fun staff :) Small Talk Vineyards is a boutique, small production VQA Niagara-on-the-lake winery located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Their estate farm is family run and has been in operation for over 50 years. They have a colourful cozy patio which you can enjoy your drink outside! . . #smalltalk #smalltalkwinery #smalltalkvineyards #wine #cider #niagaraonthelake #winery #winetasting #YesVisitNiagara #myniagara #visitniagara #apples #peaches #orchard #peachcider #applecider #niagara
Great casual environment nestled between vines. The ciders are great, if your going for wine the tasting menu is a bit smaller but also very good. The charcuterie board can use some upgrades but it's an excellent divergence from your normal upscale vineyard experience.
Very tasty ciders! Had a wonderful time, staff is super nice.
Such a fun and colourful place, plus great cider!
Simply delightful.
Great ciders to try! Their four flight tasting is $5 and is great. Apple, cranberry, Pinot and their whisky bootleg were the options we chose when we visited.
Amazing friendly staff, yummy wine, beautiful grounds, a must stop!
Fantastic staff and delicious selection of ciders!
Great place and staff. Highly recommend!
Great
Quaint little winery that has a good sarcastic sense of humour. Colourfully decorated, average wines but friendly knowledgeable staff.
Our server had a gross pubey feral beard and we have concerns about their health and safety measures. They should really consider beard nets. Also they took my growler bottle without refilling it :(
First time here. Loved it!!! The place is so colourful and inviting. Very instagramable. Free WiFi too. We did a flight of ciders and I included their ice wines too. The peach cider and Apple cider were my favourite. So refreshing on a hot summer day. Now only if they made their peach cider in cans!!! Service was amazing - friendly and helpful. No food options - their patio is screaming for something.
Very good, very lit.
Small winery but pet friendly! Only 1/4 places we found that allowed dogs on the patio. (Other 3 wineries were Pilliteri, konzelman, and Palentine) Very colorful and vibrant decoration on the building. Not your typical cookie cutter winery, this place is more of a nice, relaxing, fun winery. It also has a great spot to take pictures in front of the vineyards.
We just had our pop up Wedding at Small Talk on September 11th and we could not be any happier!! The best venue hands down!!!
Great drinks and great atmosphere, but the staff leave a little to be desired. Always feels like we're putting them out when we ask for a tasting. If the cider wasn't so good, we wouldn't go back.
Love their bootleg cider! They also have goat yoga.!
Not much of a winery, most of their tasting flights are for ciders… which weren’t tasty. The colours of the ciders are “fun” but very unnatural. The location is great, fun bright colours with lots of seating (and shade). Would come back to maybe try their wines, but their blue cider still gives me nightmares.
Wonderful staff, great ciders and wines. Highly recommend stopping by and sampling the beverages!
If you like cider, take a tour of this place!
Was an ok visit. Nothing I wud buy to bring home. Bus tours galor so noisy and busy.
Unique boutique winery best know for their ciders. Highly recommend the Bootleg Cider mixed with whiskey.
Delicious wines, friendly staff, FUN decor, you would have to be a pretty boring person to call the decor tacky.
What a wonderful place to go. Great atmosphere and staff. A must visit in the Niagara area!
Very pleasant place to visit and the wine is pretty good also
Good photo op place. Wine and Apple cider are over prized as per the taste and quality. 10 CAD per person for wine/cider tasting (4 in quantity)
Excellent cider and tongue in cheek vibe from the winery.
Not a huge wine selection, but the ciders were nice. I really enjoyed the cider with a little whisky kick.
Small Talk Vineyards is always a pit stop for us when we come to NOTL. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. They have a variety of ciders for all to enjoy and a beautiful patio with shade or some sun. We hope when things settle down with covid that board games can make a come back.
Great cider. Must try.
My husband and I have been here several times and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly and the wine is delicious. The late harvest is not one to miss, and you can also try the Shiny Apple Cider. Great branding, cute location, overall a wonderful experience.
Ended up here by happenstance this afternoon. The location was funky and cool. A friend bartender told us we could have a sample flight of 4 ciders for 5$. Who could say no? We sat outside, orchard and vineyard-side and sipped our ciders. Were able to try one we 'd never seen before and it was yummy. Glad our cruising around St Catharines area brought us there today. ❤️
The tasting room was nice and it had a great patio out front to sit with your samples. There was also a food truck on the property serving BBQ. On the wine front the Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot blend is the best offering.
This place is awesome! Girlfriend and I started our tour at 11 am here and it was one of the best wineries we visited for sure! The Shiny Peach Cider and Rebellious Riesling were our favorites.
Love it here. Fantastic cider and great people.
The cider was great, the bootleg especially, we were also able to bring our pup which was very nice. The owner was very friendly and treated us very well.
Nice place love the 1 litre bottles
Great wine and cider options. Pretty scenery and friendly staff.
It's an adorable little vineyard!
Beautiful vineyard, decorated in bold happy colours. Colourful bistro sets and picnic tables to sit and enjoy your beverage. Highly recommend the peach and bootleg, tho apparently people already know how great it is because it wad sold out! Friendly staff.
Their ciders are delicious
Cute! Great service. A growler of cider is the way to go. Delish!
A large assortment of delicious ciders. The seating area and overall vibe was very fun.
Amazing Atmosphere and selection. Highly reccomend, very fun and youthful vibe.
Delicious brownies weekends in February!
Cute winery, pet friendly . The staff was very friendly and attentive. They sell empanadas they were amazing . Definitely a cute spot to check out
Very friendly staff. I brought my family en route to niagara on the lake.. they liked the venue, the customer service and delightful for family photos. Asked for a drink that had no alcohol given that i am driving. Offered flavoured Pellegrino which made a change from another venue we visited which offered me tap water.... venues would do well to have refreshment for people who are driving. I would recommend this if you like ciders.. the wines are ok. But the ciders are better . My family rather liked the shinny apple cider.
Excellent experience and knowledgeable guide. The Rebellious Riesling is amazing! Great atmosphere and the owner is very gracious! ????
Went here for Goat Yoga and cider tasting. Amazing time. The cider was delicious.
Great food pairing for Sip and Sizzle, great atmosphere, very unique and helpful staff that offered great service.
I absolutely love this place. I made sure to make a stop, since I was in the area, to stock up on some cider. I'm not even a cider fanatic, but this place knows what they are doing! ???? They even have the cutest goat yoga on the property as well right now. ????
Very nice place. Goat yoga too!
A group of 6 of my friends attended Small Talk Vineyards on Saturday. We had an amazing time! Our server was Ashley and she made our time there amazing! She was so great with recommendations for drinks and provided constant fast service! We will definitely come again!
The place is cute and the way they do tastings is nice (you get to talk all four to a table and sit). They have games and plenty of sitting room. The idea behind their labels is fun but the wine is not that great. It reminded me of a house wine from a dive bar, I’ll drink but I’m not paying for a bottle. Also the staff was very nice and they have a dog on staff ☺️
Charming and Cheeky! Down to earth, friendly and funny staff. Need a break from all that pretentiousness associated with wine tasting then this is your place. Great ice wine, clever labels and amazing cider!!!!
I was here for a We Felt That bracelet making night. It was so much fun! The Winery itself is small, but super eclectic and cool! I also ended up taking two bottles of the peach cider home with me. It was AMAZING! I will definitely be going back for the cider in the summer / fall! So glad I found this place!
Delicious ciders. But very expensive flights for a very small amount. Bottles are very expensive as well. No rebate on purchases. Cheaper at lcbo.
Love their Cider, nice place to have a rest after a day of hitting winery's. Not overly pretentious, just a nice balance.
Great little place, great ciders
Loved the wine, the fabulous labels, the hard cider and the whiskey. And the owners are the sweetest older couple, made the tasting/tour so special. Can't wait to visit again in Summer!
I have been on several tours and tastings around the area and this is by far, my favorite!! The wagon tour is relaxing and fun, the wine is amazing and the staff are unreal! Beautiful property but ita definitely the staff that brinf everything to life! Great job!
Absolutely lovely. Beautiful set up. We went specifically for their ciders. Lots to choose from and there is a possibility to almost try all of them by ordering 2 cider flights! We tried all but 2 and regardless we still left with 6 bottles. Will come again after COVID for a full tour!
Great selection of location only products. Friendly staff in a gorgeous and very clean facility. Worth the trip.
Rude staff, poor experience. We arrived with a group of 10. We were treated so rudely it was unbelievable. We were made to feel bad for bringing more people to their business. They refused to allow us to to choose our own wine. When we approached the tasting bar the employee told us to “just go over there as they aren’t ready for 10 people”. He then proceeded to walk over and start a ‘tasting’ without explaining anything. After the first wine we placed the glasses on a tray thinking that he was going to provide new ones, he shrugged, poured, and we had to use glasses we that didn’t know if they were ours or not. I tried to talk to him to explain our displeasure. He refused to look at me and told me that “well you should have booked a tour for 10 people”. We spoke to the manager and eventually left without spending any money as the experience was so poor. Our group spent $150 each at the previous winery and we were prepared to do the same thing here. More customers is a good thing, don’t treat people poorly. There are so many good wineries in Niagara, this one doesn’t deserve your business. Go elsewhere.
This was one of our stops while hitting up the wineries and breweries. It wasn’t in my original list but was recommended by another winery. I’m so glad we stopped because this was fun and the ciders were excellent. It’s bright and colorful and there’s plenty of room to sit or stand with your group. I’ll be back in March 2020 and cannot wait! I just really need to find out what the goat yoga is!!! Haha!
Great wines and ciders. Fun staff.
Descent nice place. Picked up a lovely cider. Not very showy when doing the tasting. Which is not a bad thing. Short story about the vintage then down it goes.
Awesome selection of the best ciders in the region bar none. (On the Shiny Cider brand) Wines are incredibly priced, better even when you buy a case (Had some at $100 for a case when we were there) go there, good people, good drinks.
Went to Small Talk Winery this weekend for my sister's bachelorette party. We went on the wagon tour with the most amazing and hilarious guide Anna. I cannot say enough good things about this place it was seriously the fan favourite for our group of 19 and nobody wanted to leave. The drinks are great, the place is very nice and hip and even all the other patrons were smiling ear to ear in this winery. I have been to numerous wineries in Niagara Region and this one has the best energy, drinks, people and décor. If you want to have fun on a wine tour then this has to be on your stop. My husband and I will be planning a trip there in the near future for their Friday night food truck event.
Amazing experience
Love this place, so much character and love here. We always make a point of visiting every time we are in Niagara. This time we were fortunate enough to meet the owner, who is so kind and down to earth. Can't say enough about this place, the people, and the products. Love the cider!
Very friendly staff, great location and wonderful environment. Loved the wines. Will definitely return and highly recommend.
Small Talk does not appear to be much of a winery any more. Most of their testing flights are ciders now. They used to be on our list of regular places to visit. We stopped in but didn't even stay.
It was super great...Belinda was a fabulous hostess...will be back.
Wine not very good - labels r cute tho
I spent a bit of time here as a part of the Niagara Wine Tour Guides wine tour. I tried a variety of different ciders, and was very impressed with each one. The staff here are very knowledgable and friendly. They have seasonal flavoured ciders (we purchased sour cherry as well as whiskey), which switch up every month or so. If you're in the area and love cider, check this spot out!
Very cute vineyard. Highly recommend the Bootleg cider!!!
Not to my taste. Others seemed to enjoy
Great cider. Lots of varieties and nice property for a visit.
Very pleasant experience!!! Thanks so much!!!
Washroom seems to be broke a lot. Cider that was given to us in our tour was not very good.
Nice place . The girl we had explaining the wines was gorgeous. Would love to go back.
My husband and I both enjoyed a flight of ciders and it was so nice. Just sitting outside, very relaxing. Lovely stop on our wine tour
My favorite vineyard in Niagara! Great wine, fantastic customer service
5/5 for the atmosphere and ambience. We spent a lovely hour enjoying the weekend ciders (New New & Pink Weekend flights), all of flavored ciders. The ciders were sweet and delicious, nothing special in terms of flavor profile but extremely refreshing. We also got a charcuterie 'board' prepacked cardboard boxes shipped in from somewhere with a few cheeses, fruites, meats and crackers that were stale. Really not impressed by all that packaging and the plastic glasses the ciders were served in. All in all, lovely spot, quality of the produce not that exciting.
Cute place. Love tge pinot cider and pear cider!
A great winery with an excellent selection of ciders.
Can't make a reservation but then ask you at the door for your reservation and won't let you in.
Excellent cider! Delicious Icewine at a reasonable price. Great staff!
Beautiful winery with delicious ciders! Very friendly service, will go back again!!!
Love their cider. Totally cute casual laidback place.
So cute, good wine at good prices. Love the bottles.
Absolutely stoked to have visited the home of my favorite cider!!!
Quite nice place . Hospitality is amazing and a great selection of wines. Beautiful winery. Will definitely go back again .
Good start to our own guided tour here. Tasty ciders and especially the one that I believe was aged in a whiskey barrel or something like that. Quirky look to the whole place which gave off a really welcoming and friendly vibe. Great host too!
Loved the goat yoga!! So much fun! Went into the shop afterwards for some tasting. Wonderful staff, great service! Ended up buying a great bottle of wine????❤
I'm so excited to go back to Niagara so I can come back here. Sadly I had biked and couldn't buy all the things that I wanted to. The ciders were absolutely delicious!
On our wine tour, this was our least favorite. The staff was courteous and friendley but no one in my 10 person group enjoyed their cider wines. The aroma of the cider wines was very bad and the tasting left little to be desired.
Unique experience. Will be back
Love this little place! Came here as a stop on our vineyard tour, the staff were very accommodating (we had a large group of 10 girls) and made sure we felt well taken care of. We tried a selection of wines and ciders, and we all went home with at least a bottle of something. Wish this stuff was available at the LCBO! Will definitely return!
Such a cute place with delicious cool options!
Far from my favorite wines I have tasted in the area but for a fan of drier tastes this place would be for you, love the appearance and character of the winery.
Very nice and friendly
Vineyards is a bit misleading as 70% of their production is currently cider instead of wines (according to July 2018 tour). If you were looking for microbreweries in the area the cider selection would probably appeal to you. As a winery I would pass and instead visit one of the many other more enjoyable wineries in the area.
Service was excellent and so were the goats
Off the beaten path but definitely worth the drive. I would highly recommend trying their ciders. Some of the best ciders i have ever tasted and will continue coming back.
Love their cider, but I wouldn't give them my credit card information. Over a 3 1/2 week period, I emailed twice, called and left messages at least twice, and even sent them a message on the "contact us" page on their website asking them to cancel my cider membership and was totally ignored. After all that, they sent me an email telling me I "now had an account" and then immediately charged my card for another shipment. I had to call them and try all their extensions before I finally got hold of someone, who confirmed the email addresses I used were active and that they checked their website messages, but had no idea why nobody had replied to me. I eventually got a refund 2 days later. No apology or explanation why they would absolutely ignore me for almost a month. Also, don't think you can return those growlers anytime soon for a refund for your "deposit". Consider them bought, they refuse to take them back because they're afraid to take them. Honestly, I think they just want to keep the "deposit" money at this point. 2 stars because their cider is great, honestly. 3 stars off because their abysmal customer service and untrustworthy business practices. All they had to do was cancel my membership and send me a couple emails to confirm my membership was cancelled and let me know when they will finally accept their bottles, so I can get what I thought was a deposit back. I don't understand why that was so difficult to get accomplished. I still don't know when I can get my deposit money back, or if I ever will.
Amazing Wine and Ciders! Coolest atmosphere. Absolutely love this place
Staff was very welcoming. Ciders were delicious, we didn't try the wine. The patio was a great spot for a drink. I only wish I had stocked up a little more.
We spent some time on Tuesday, August 10th sampling/enjoying/LOVING the cider here. Wow… best part was the service! We can’t remember our servers name, but she was excellent and made our visit so nice! We sampled eight ciders and took home a six pack of bootleg, a six pack of blue raspberry and a growler of pomegranate. We’re definitely coming back!
Very cute place! We were pleasantly surprised!
Small Talk Vineyards
Love this cute and colorful place. One of our favorites
A great, eclectic feeling place. Lots of space both covered and open outside. Didnt try any wines, but the ciders are amazing.
