Gammy Neavou (I think..?) was wonderful for light red during summer as well. Mostly all good but those 2 are my choices for this summertime! Definitely recommend for pairing with tour! I have been here twice, and always enjoyed their customer service and wines. The tasting cost is fair and similar to pre-covid, unlike most other wineries. They will also deduct the tasting cost from your purchase if you get two or more bottles. Great business sense, combined with good wines and great treatment of customers; a winning combination. Nice wine tasting with lots of opportunities to share and also a nice variety of wines. This is our second time there and both times we had to ask for the refund of our tasting after we bought a case Plus of wine. Wines are “O.K.” - seems like there is still a wide discrepancy among years, especially in the reds. Sauvignon blanc is very nice and compares nicely with Marlborough New Zealand ones. Did not think that the $34.95 Barrel 81 was as good as I would have thought a $35 of wine would have been; compared to a $38 bottle of Amarone - nope! At the same time, nice variety, nicely presented, good safety in COVID times, nice little shop.

We had a fantastic visit to Riverview Cellars! Our tour guide, Cassandra, was lovely and engaging and did a great job of explaining how the business worked. This is a smaller, family owned and operated vineyard that is doing exceptional work and I would highly recommend this winery to anyone who is looking to do a tasting in NOTL. Also, I appreciate how well the company has implemented public health measures around COVID 19...this made it possible for us to enjoy the experience while maintaining physical distancing. Everyone was wearing a face mask and hand sanitizer was supplied to all guests. Thank you again for a lovely experience!

I have written a ton of reviews about NotL wineries now and I very much enjoyed my last two visits to Riverview. I'm kicking myself for not buying their Gamay Nouveau as it sold out very quickly! For the first time ever, I am really anticipating a winery's releases because I know that the Gamay Nouveau will return at the end of the year. Aside from the Gamay I have also become a fan of their Bianco Gewurztraminer, Fontana Dolce, and their icewines. I love that this winery creates styles that are on the sweet side but not sickeningly sweet like some icewines. It is the perfect balance between dryness and sweetness. Shout out to Pat and Heather who served my groups the two times I visited in the past month. I will absolutely be coming back in November for that Gamay!

This winery was the highlight of my day in Niagara. We had a great tour and discussion with our tour guide. The cheese platter with our tastings was wonderful and having our wines and cheese platter on their porch was just beautiful. It actually rained most of the time we were on the porch, but that sound and sitting and watching the rain over the vineyard really just made the experience that much more special and memorable. LOVED the Gewurtzraminer, absolutely my favourite wine of the day. Bought some wine and wine jelly to bring a touch of the experience home with me. :)

Completely unexcited staff, when asked for tasting they silently handed us menus with no explanation, when asked for pen were already annoyed. No explanation to wines whatsoever (literally nothing except for saying "here you go"), we had to ask for water and were served all our wines in the same glass. Truly "gourmet" experience

Like this little local winery...I have been before and LOVED my experience prior. So I’m perplexed at my review. I found our latest experience was lacking from last time. I thought that they were a touch understaffed for a long weekend and they were rushed - even when we booked our tasting days prior to arrival. Wine was amazing and delicious, love the sparkling wine cans...again, just was missing something from last time and it could have just been all the hustle and bustle with Covid and a long weekend. Perhaps having a host at the front entrance would assist on busy days??? I just kinda felt awkward for the staff.

I highly recommend the Structured Tasting at Riverview Cellars. We visited 3 wineries in NOTL and the experience we had a Riverview was by far the best experience and the reason for that was because of Georgina. I attended Riverview on Friday August 20 with my husband, mother in law, and father in law. The outdoor seating area was lovely, with a view of the river and grounds. Our scheduled time was for 4:30, they were quick to get us seated and we were given the menus. We ordered our samples all at the same time which I prefer as we all sip at different rates. The wine was nice, the staff were pleasant. However, the only negative I have about this place is that at 4:55 the staff came around and told us we had 5 minutes and they were closing. This made all 3 tables that were sampling rush through their last samples, and make a beeline for the store inside. The staff seemed pretty unprepared when we were all trying to check out with our purchases and it took quite a while to get through the line and make our purchase and leave. I suggest making the last tasting time at 4:15pm, this way customers have a chance to enjoy their samples and shop through the store. In addition to that, I suggest not telling the customers they have 5 minutes because they are closing, it is something many find to be poor customer service.

This place may look like a warehouse but this was my favorite winery on the Niagara On The Lake trail. Everything else was so over the top, pretentious, and expensive. Gimme a break already. This place was very friendly and welcoming. They're not trying to impress anyone they're just trying to sell some wine. We had a nice tasting, found one we liked and bought a glass to sit on the porch with. Very enjoyable stop on the trail.

Major letdown. I took my wife, mother , brother and sister-in-law on a tour of five wineries. This was the worst (and only bad one). Reif, Cayote Run, Caroline and Inniskillin were all lovely with friendly service and wines good to great. Riverview is run by an extremely rude man who shows no professionalism or gratitude toward customers. Entitled perhaps? I was embarrassed having made the mistake of bringing my out-of-province guests to this establishment.

We attended a tasting at Riverview on Monday September 28th @ 11:30. Riverview requires reservations for tastings, which I thought all required but apparently not so. We arrived, waited just a few moments for the staff member to assist us with the selection of wines to try. She was extremely knowledgeable and we were pleased with the information provided. We took our tasting glasses (4 different wines, we shared) out to the patio, which was lovely. It was a beautiful early fall day! Two of the four wines were exactly what we were looking for so bought 6 bottles (tasting fee deducted from the tab). Based on the experience, we will be back!

This was a nice experience. We had a Greta tour with a knowledgeable young man. We asked him lots of questions! Then we had a tasting with a charcuterie board. Riverview cellars was part of a wine tour we took part in...what a horrendous experience. When we arrived we were told we had 20 mins to finish our 4 samples...the server ran from table to table to speed serve us...our charcuterie board consisted of 4 crackers and 2 slices of processed chedder and a crumble of white unidentifiable cheese, and then we were told to share with the person next to us...during covid regulations still in effect?!?. The server told us flat out that she had a party to go to and was not staying late...what a dissapointing experience. We were going to puchase wine, but changed our mind as we won't support a place with such bad customer service. And I work in the service industry.

We had the nicest server, I can't remember her name, but she had dark hair. She was so patient and kind! She even took pictures of my sisters and I, inside and outside. She really went above and beyond. Such a good tasting!!

Wines were interesting but not my taste. I enjoyed having a cheese plate with our tasting but had hoped for some insight on what cheese to pair with the wine we were sampling. The person presenting the wines seemed tired and pretty much done with her day.

We visited Riverview Cellars earlier this week. It is a family owned winery and the staff are so friendly. Even the owner came out of his home to say good morning to us. We did the winery tour and it included three tastings from their menu. The tour itself was very informative and interesting. The wines were definitely high quality. The sauvignon blanc was the best I have tasted it was better than a lot of imports I have purchased. We walked back to the winery to purchase some wines and sparking cans of wine when were heading home. Thank you Riverview Cellars for an interesting tour and your great wines.

Nice little winery to stop at and do tastings. It’s $15 for 3 tastings but it’s waived as long as you buy 2 bottles of wine. Staff were very friendly

Disappointing experience biked over 2.5km and arrived at 5:44pm, my wife entered at 5:45 and was told they stop wine tasting at quarter to 6. This alone is somewhat misleading, the staff were rude and refused us. The staff also acknowledged we had arrived at that time. I explained we had bikes and really wanted to try their wine and buy a few bottles. Fortunately we were able to turn around and bike to Inniskillin with time to spare (They also closed at 6) and have a flight and buy some bottles. This place left a bad taste in my mouth and I wish they were clear with their hours, it seemed to also happen to a couple behind us. Disappointing.

Im not one to usually leave a review however, after the beautiful experience my boyfriend and I, it had to be a must. The wine there speaks for itself. You come to be greeted very kindly by all staff members. We were also accommodated with an excellent charcuterie board during out tour. We were led by our tour guide, Cassandra who was nothing but excellent with sharing her knowledge and information about the winery. 5 starts to the young lady herself. Overall it was a beautiful experience and definitely worth our drive from Toronto. We will most definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you all for beautiful experience!

My favourite winery to visit in NOTL. Great location with fantastic wines and a wide variety for any taste. They have inexpensive prices for the area and staff who are very friendly and knowledgeable. I love that they're a smaller winery that's family owned - makes for a much more welcoming and genuine experience!

Amazing wines! I’ve never had a bad experience at this winery. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a very welcoming environment. The hospitality is wonderful! The aroma and body of their wines compare favourably to wines that are triple the price. Can’t recommend this winery enough! It’s fantastic! And their wine club is definitely the way to go to be able to try a wide variety of wines.

Great winery and love the Rose! Visited a few weeks ago while in Niagara on the Lake. I had a glass of the Rose at dinner at the "Old Winery" and had to go the next day to Riverview to purchase...love it! We weren't able to do a tour because it was last minute. I prefer the sweeter wines like Moscato but the River View Rose is my new favourite! Regret not buying more bottles when I was there to bring home, but delighted to find it on-sale online with free shipping! If you like sweeter wines, this is a must try!

This stop was the second on our bicycle wine tour and it was alright. The wines were decent and atmosphere was okay. Not my favourite stop, it just kind of missed the ‘wow’ factor. The sample room was small, there we’re a lot of people when we came in and even though this was a scheduled stop, we were only squished in. Once the room cleared a bit, the experience got a bit better. The staff were not knowledgeable about the wines, their opinions seemed to be formed from the bottle label. This was a little disappointing.

I was finally able to visit this lovely winery in person. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I have been ordering their wine online for about a year and really enjoy everything I’ve purchased. The 2017 Bianco Gewurztraminer Riesling is my favourite!

I would highly recommend this smaller winery. My friends and I took one of their traditional tours and tastings and had a great experience. The tour was informative and interesting and the man leading the tour was very amiable and knowledgeable. The wines we tasted were really good. Made for a great experience.

My husband and I had a lovely afternoon at the winery on July 2. The wines for tasting and the charcuterie board were excellently paired. The tour was done and explained by a patient and knowledgeable young man. He wore a face cover as I had informed Mike that I am hearing impaired and needed to stand close to him !???? The staff were kind and professional. We purchased wine and other stuff but could not take them with us as we were spending rest of the day at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Though delivery was to be in a couple of days we received them the next day! Can’t wait to sample the wines we bought and look forward to another visit sometime soon.
