Awesome wines. Excellent service. Reasonable prices. It's so worth the trip.
Very nice vineyard. Realy good wines. Frienly staff.
Both Emily and Tate knew their wines and we had an interesting info session on how they make their select wines and the story behind the place-- great place to visit and beautiful scenery!
Beatiful place, good wine and friendly staff.
Great wine, fabulous view and a delicious cheese tray. We loved the Pinot Noir and their oaked chardonnay.
Very nice tour, knowledgeable staff and excellence wine!
I did a wine tour this past weekend and this was our last and favorite spot, Daniella who gave us our tastings was so kind and knowledgable, she made our experience one to remember. She explained to us the history of the winery, and how they operate on sustainable energy, it was quite impressive. The wine was delicious, I bought the twisted white and red. The grounds were beautiful. There was a cute pond where you can sit and have a glass of wine, and the vineyards were a nice place to take photos. I love to support a winery that cares about the environment and has good wines. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed tasting 3 wines. Exceptionally beautiful view.
Great atmosphere and delicious wine. Tate was great! He was very informative and filled with knowledge! It was a pleasure learning about their wines and its processing. Beautiful view of the vineyards while enjoying a glass of wine.
I visit Flat Rock twice a year with my friends and family.Employees are professional and friendly, we enjoyed yesterday’s morning we spent there so much.
Great views. Customer service was really top notch here - very impressed by the staff. The Gewurztraminer was my personal favorite of the wines on offer, though there's lots to like about everything here.
always friendly with a great view and if course some wonderful wines to take home to relive the memory.
My absolute favourite Winery! (And I have been to alot!) Just such a calm and inviting environment each and every time I visit. Things have changed with the times, but it was still wonderful outside on the balcony sipping the sweet nectar with my Mum! You have to try the Nadja's...incredible in the line up! Can't wait until live music & food trucks return to the Vineyard! Thank you for another memorable visit!
Beautiful wines, great staff breath taking views over the vineyards. I especially love the Nadja's Vineyard Riesling.
Their wine, spectacular variety. Their views, quite possibly 2nd to none here in the Niagara Peninsula... 360 views. Looking forward to see them this Saturday while in town, live band! Friendly note for future guests, they also serve wine by the glass (which can be rare or hard to find)!!
(Translated) Amazing wines, rich and complex, that do not resemble anything we had already goal while being super well built! A pleasure with every sip and funny stories to accompany them! (Original) Des vins étonnants, riches et complexes , qui ne ressemblent à rien de ce que nous avions déjà but tout en étant hyper bien construit ! Un plaisir à chaque gorgée et des histoires marrantes pour les accompagner!
Every time I’m visited Flat Rock it’s been a great experience. Great tasting wine, beautiful views and property as well as friendly and knowledgeable staff! One of my favourite wineries to visit.
The experience encountered was amazing. We purchased a Groupon as something to do while out this way and we received much more than expected and much more than we've received at competing places that we booked official tours with. It starts with the picturesque landscape walking into the tasting room. It is nicely and quantly set up. Next we met Emily who really made the experience everything it was giving the review a 5 star. If it could be a 10 star we'd rate it as 10!. She is very knowledgeable about wine in general and especially Flat Rock wine. She is very energetic when she teaches and explains the story behind bottle. The tastings were a generous size and there was no pressure about taking your time enjoying the tastings. P.S. The place is also Fido friendly! Will be back for in the fall for sure.
All-round great experience from booking with Marli to the friendly greetings on arrival and service in the retail area. Of course the best part of our visit was the Eco Tour with Tate as our guide. He made the experience really enjoyable with a tour that conveyed his extensive knowledge of the facility and wine in general, without sounding scripted or dry.
Such a fun experience! A beautiful view with delicious wines! Tate was amazing and so knowledgable! Thank you!
Lovely winery. Beautiful tasting area over looking the vineyard. Great service and amazing wine. ????
Hidden gem with amazing views! Will definitely come back when the weather is nicer!
excellent wines (Spectator rated 90 on "Gravity Pinoit Noir" ..yum and beers. Beautiful (grass) roof top... with band playing on a early warm fall day . Excels on sustainability. View wonderful from tasting room.
Delicious wines of course but even fun beer by SHAWN&ED breweries company!
Beer and wine tasting
Hidden gem with amazing views! Will definitely come back when the weather is nicer!
Great wines! Very friendly and informative staff!
Really amazing winery. Loved all the Red's. Tallulah was fantastic and really helpful today. Went over and beyond what would been our wedding day in Cuba. Thank you!! Will definitely be back!
Beautiful venue, service was good in this time of restrictions due to covid. Wines tasting was great.
Very cool tasting area nice Pino good view good architecture cons only 2 wines served expensive to ship not much selection
Wonderful wines, amazing views & great staff to teach you about the vines
Had the best wine tasting. The wine, the view, and the staff were all amazing. A must visit.
Can not say enough about this great spot. The views of the lake on the patio are unbeatable and the people/staff are knowledgeable and generous with their time. We went for a tasting and ended up receiving an education on the process and chatting with the staff for an hour. Jacob was just awesome. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.
Nice tour. Nice wine. Love Twisted blend
Absolutely one of my favorites in the area! Emily took care of us and gave excellent recommendations on all of their unique blends, in addition to taking us "backstage" for a quick tour to explain the vertical winemaking process. We appreciated how much effort and thought she put into our tasting experience. Also, their roses are to die for...try these and you absolutely won't be disappointed!
Beautiful experience and Emily gave such an excellent tour! She's so passionate and knowledgable. I'll be back again.
Best view! The set up here is just simply amazing. The entire buildings hangs off an escarpment that over looks all the millions of vines below! A wrap around deck, pristine panoramic photos and looks of awe are all garunteed here! Take a stroll down to the water or post up at some if the various and strategically placed muskoka chairs throughout the property. The modern design and feel, with classic vibes doesnt hurt either!
One of the most beautiful wineries we have ever been too plus the wines are fantastic! Service can’t be better either! Thank you Emily for the great visit! We will be back!
Every time I’m visited Flat Rock it’s been a great experience. Great tasting wine, beautiful views and property as well as friendly and knowledgeable staff! One of my favourite wineries to visit.
Exceptional pinot noirs, beautiful tasting room with views of both vineyards and Toronto. Wonderful to see a winery passionate about wine and sustainability.
We visited for the first time last year and it became an immediate favorite. The rosé and chards are particular standouts. Probably one of the nicest tasting rooms in the area. They let you picnic on their lovely grounds too!
Really great wines. No brown m&ms!
Amazing view and delicious wines. Staff are very polite and knowledgeable! Great spot tk relax for a drink.
Our second trip to Flatrock and another amazing experience. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and not at all pretentious. View is gorgeous from their fab deck and the wine is deelish! Our online orders in the winter were shipped speedily and that resulted in promo codes that saved us over $100! Great service, great wine, great experience!
Beautiful area and friendly staff. I left with a case of deliciousness :)
This place knows customer service. I love spending money and having an experience. Thank you Sara and Kami
Scenic view and good wines
Open later than all the other wineries. Wine was okay. After buying a $30 bottle we would have expected both of our tasting fees to be waived. Most of the other wineries waived after 2 bottles per group and we bought 5 between 6 of us and they still charged tasting fee.
Wow. Spectacular views. Chatted with a fun and helpful employee, but haven't yet tried the wine we purchased. But GO! Next time we will have a glass of wine on the porch, or go down to the picnic tables. Great experience. Treat yourself.
Wine was OK, not anything we would buy. Their mission to help the environment was top notch and we learned allot. View was nice and buildings are all new.
Really amazing winery. Loved all the Red's. Tallulah was fantastic and really helpful today. Went over and beyond what would been our wedding day in Cuba. Thank you!! Will definitely be back!
Great view from the balcony. I bought the Gravity red and Twisted red. I'll definitely return to this winery.
A must stop during your wine tour - with a beautiful view of Toronto in the distance across the lake! The tasting room is airy and spacious, and the staff are great. Superb Chardonnay! (Loved the Rusty Shed)
Fantastic experience. We did a tasting as a group of 6.
Really enjoyed many of their wines and ended up buying a few. Staff knew the fine details of wine making progress behind their products. The view from the cellar door is also spectacular. Very worth while having a visit
This was my first ever experience with a winery tour. My husband and I enjoyed every moment. Our guide Tyra was so knowledgeable; she gave great details and spent the time to answer our MANY questions. We both learned so much. The scenery was stunning; the love music lovely and the patio over looking the winery just breathtaking. We sampled 3 wines; two of which we purchased to take home and enjoy again. Only complaint is it would be nice if they had some sort of food to accompany the tasting. We would have stayed longer and enjoyed a few more glasses of wine if there was something to eat. Absolute beauty in Niagara Region. A must visit
Not a big wine ???? fan, but it was an interesting tour. Nicely planned walk through of the facility. The staff was very pleasant, and I even went home with a couple of bottles of wine ????.
Great amazing view a well kept secret. Oh and the wine very tasty
Spectacular view Sitting options Enjoy the twisted line Friendly knowledgeable staff
We ordered a case of Twisted (2017) wine. The wine is excellent but the customer service is even better. Two bottles were broken enroute by the courier. Marli from Flat Rock was amazing in ensuring that the bottles were replaced quickly and without any extra work on our behalf. We will definitely be ordering more!
We found this Diamond in our way to another winery. I made my boyfriend stop and said “they had me at dry reds”. As we Turned around and laughed we surely didn’t know what we were getting into. We walked in and we were greeted by the owner the sweetest woman in the finger lakes. She and her husband stared this winery as a retirement project. As we sat there and shared stories and as she educated us on their wine we found ourselves leaving with at least one bottle of everything we tried. We will definitely be stopping again and best of luck to thee new addition to the property an events venue.
Tate led another excellent tasting, proving he knows food and beer, not just wine!
Always a great time here. I proposed to my now fiancee there this summer after we had many nice outings here; Jacob and Marli were very helpful in the organisation. Great wine, food and a friendly staff and a beautiful view. I can't wait to go back!
Great wines, amazing view, knowledgeable and helpful staff. I highly recommend.
Great behind the scenes tasting experience! Use of sustainable and energy use consciousness is clearly evident
Wine is decent but you pay for your tasting even if you buy a few bottles. Unfriendly.
Super nuce tour guide, wine is very good, and the place is beautiful. Will come back for the ice wine festival.
Stopped in for an afternoon tasting with four people on March 2nd. Had such a fantastic time! The gentleman who served us was friendly and knowledgeable!
Loved our anniversary visit today. The staff was lovely, we enjoyed the live music and came home with some new favourite wines.
Superb views, icewine fest with sparkling wine and pakoras pairings, delish
The view was fabulous from their facility. Nice and relaxed environment.
I was introduced to their wine by a neighbour where I tried their 2015 Unplugged Chardonnay. I don't usually like Chardonnay, but I enjoy theirs because it is not oaky and is sweeter than a typical chardonnay. My husband and I went out to visit this winery recently and their tasting room overlooks has their vineyards and the lake. What a beautiful view and their wines are not only good but affordable! The staff behind the tasting bar were very friendly and a pleasure to chat with during our flight. You can tell they enjoy working there and are treated well by the vineyard owners. This is the first winery we have tried in Jordan and will be sure to visit again soon!
Love their Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Twisted white blend. Have been here for an impromptu tasting, as well as a couple events. Everyone we've interacted with has been delightful.
Beautiful tasting room with panoramic view of the vineyards, very good Chardonnays and excellent service.
My husband and I toured this winery while vacationing in Niagra Falls. We received a personal tour of the winery, the tour guide was quite knowledgeable and very passionate about what she does. The vineyards and views were gorgeous and the wines were all superb, I can't even begin to pick a favorite. After our tour and wine tasting, we were allowed to choose whichever wine we wanted to taste and sit on the porch enjoying the amazing view while sipping on our wine. It was a great experience, the winery is beautiful, the prices are extremely reasonable and the staff is very knowledgeable and pleasant.
Really amazing winery. Loved all the Red's. Tallulah was fantastic and really helpful today. Went over and beyond what would been our wedding day in Cuba. Thank you!! Will definitely be back!
One of our fave Wineries to go to just for the view & the wine is fine too! Service is very friendly and knowledgeable!
Good wine, friendly staff.
Beautiful place, good wine (especially chardonnay and Riesling) and excellent service!!
Very knowledgeable and informative wine tour guide. Wine was excellent and production is very eco friendly.
Booked backstage tour. Very informative. Owner is very passionate about wine making. Great experience. Wine is great. Bought some home!
I have been to many wineries, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. We went with a group of 12, and from the moment we arrived it was clear they had issues with communication. We were told that we would be given a section of the winery after our tour (which was extremely short for $25 a person) that we would be able to sit and enjoy wine by the glass. They neglected to tell us ahead of time it would be a small section of the outdoor patio with no tables and only a couple benches. If you crossed over an invisible line on the patio, they’d come over and tell you to move. Now, the worst of the worst.. after purchasing an overpriced glass of mediocre wine, I went to take a sip from my glass and saw a LIVING earwig swimming around. I asked our tour lady Marley if I could have a new one and she said with a laugh to her colleague “you’re on a farm. I’ll just scoop it out”. Absolutely disgusting. Overall, it’s not that great of wine, the venue is not the best and the customer service is just awful. Would not suggest wasting your time.
Pleasant knowledgable staff. Like the wine.
First of all, probably the most beautiful view from any winery around. The vineyard, the lake, the Toronto skyline. Picturesque. Excellent wines confirmed by the high scores of professional critics and the many medals and awards that they have garnered. Specializing in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling, they produce a wonderful combination of top quality and accessible yet appreciable wines that will please many palates and fit many budgets. In my experiences, the staff have been superbly helpful, knowledgeable, and so pleasant to work with. A personal highlight for me is that they routinely make available offerings from their library. It is awesome to be able to pick up a 10 year old bottle of wine. Not unheard of, but very rare in Niagara. Flat Rock checks every box on my list for an excellent winery visit: top marks in quality, value, variety, staff, location, presentation, and overall experience. Go pay them a visit, you won't be disappointed.
(Translated) The visit to the vineyard and the facilities is very interesting. The wines are excellent. (Original) La visite du vignoble et des installations est très intéressante. Les.vins sont excellents.
Visited during fall of 2018. The wines are awesome. They serve you well and present each wine properly. I’ve experienced wineries nearby where they pour whites into a warm glass and don’t even bother to explain what the wine is about! I loved the 3 that I tasted so much that I brought all 3 of them. I would’ve bought more but I had the chance to taste only 3 in the flight... Will definitely visit again!
I could spend hours there, that view... the wines... the fabulous knowledgeable staff.
Worst customer service/experience ever, plus an inept manager.
Great Pinot, fantastic wine tasting to go with an awesome view !
Beautiful unique winery space. Enjoyed our wine tasting and conversation with Tate today.
Terrific service, lovely location, live music, can't ask for a better way to spend a Saturday outside!
The riesling and chardonnay were both very good, but I'd pass on the beer. I love that you can see into the processing area (it's really neat), but the best thing about this winery is that they let you buy glasses of wine and set up your own picnic on the grounds. Very welcoming and accommodating!
Decided to return to flat Rock on Saturday. During this covid-19 times, most places are being extra clean. We entered the winery and the three employees didn't even offer to assist us or explain their new routine. Decided to have a glass of wine outside, tables were dirty. I asked the staff if they could come out and clean them I was told it was hot outside. I was really disappointed with our visit she came out and told us to get out of the way. I asked them don't you clean your tables every time someone leaves. I was told once in the morning. Very disappointing I would give this a one.
What a fantastic winery and open space, we would highly recommend this amazing place. Tate was our tour guide around the vineyard and his knowledge and enthusiasm was a treat! P.s. we even met the owner, thank you for your great hospitality and amazing staff!
Great wines. Great staff
By far the nicest building for having a wine tasting. The view is incredible. Wines are spectacular. You just have to go and visit. They specialize in Pinot and whites.
Incredible wines, knowledgeable staff, and stunning views .
Great wines, great staff, all around great afternoon!!
Marlie and Alexa are fabulous! Twisted red and the unoaked Chardonnay are great!
Best winery by far. The experience, the education, the wines, the view and Tate — amazing. Thank you for an awesome ending to a great day.
The staff were wonderful and well informed.
Great wines and an amazing view! Their twists are so unique it's a must try. The staff was very friendly as well. Awesome experience!
Had the pleasure of the backstage tour on Saturday. Tate was our tour guide and did an amazing job, between the information provide and his fun/friendly demeanor we all loved it. Well done Flat Rock and Tate. Highly recommended and will be returning.
Had a great experience at this winery ! Staff were very welcoming and pleasant! Highly Recommend
We did a tour and tasting at Flat rock. We were 2 adults and a dog. Since it was harvest season our dog was not allowed in the cellar which is completely understandable. Our dog was allowed everywhere else on the property. The Rieslings and the twisted were delicious. They have a lovely patio with a view of the vineyards and the Toronto skyline across the lake. We also walked around the property a bit, around the pond and in the vineyard. Had a great time!
I was excited to visit Flat Rock Cellars however when I got there today and entered their tasting room at around 3:20, no one was there. And I don't mean no customers. I mean that, after waiting around for 10 minutes and calling out "hello?" a few times, not a single sales associate showed up. It was a super disappointing experience and very strange to say the least. Edit: Flat Rock has been so kind as to reach out to apologize and explain. I haven’t been able to go back but I’m excited to and will review them again when I can.
Jacob was our host this afternoon. Very knowledgeable, thank you for sharing your expertise with us today.
Loved our anniversary visit today. The staff was lovely, we enjoyed the live music and came home with some new favourite wines.
Our recent tour at Flat Rock Cellars was amazing. Shout out to Trent who took us on a guided tour of the winery. VERY informative and friendly. We loved learning about how sustainable Flat Rock Cellars is. You guys ROCK! We will definitely be back.
Love their Riesling!
Wine was amazing! Emily was fantastic! Truly a gem :)
We had a great time here as part of the Grape & Wine Festival. The food and wine pairing was great and the winery is lovely, with an amazing view!
Smal selection but many are award wining. Wine store is atop of the vinyard. Cant wait to see it in warmer weather.
Stop on a tour at Easter 2019, of the four places we hit this was the most in depth view of vineyard, shop, back rooms stuff of equipment and cellars, great stuff. High energy hosts too, Tate took us around, we look forward to another visit, score a few more bottles of wine.
Great wines. Great views. Really enjoyed wines.
♡ WINE SERVICE VIEW ♡
Amazing! Went to this winery with Pfaff Audi for tour and lunch. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Learned a lot about the winery and the process. Had an incredible lunch and drank amazing wine. Grabbed a few bottles Definitely will return.
Excellent tour and tasting. The staff are energetic, friendly and very knowledgeable (we had Emily, who was a delight). The tasting room and boutique is bright and inviting with stunning views of the vineyard. The focus on environmentally friendly policies was an unexpected plus. We found all of the wines to be easy drinking, and were lucky to try reds, whites and an ice wine that was made in partnership with Patrick Chan, beloved Canadian figure skater and national treasure. Not all of the wines are available at the LCBO so you might want to stock up on any new-found favourites (and you WILL find some favourites) when you visit.
Excellent setting, interesting events.
We had booked a tour at Flat Rock Cellars for four people last Saturday and were very lucky to have Tate guide us. His explanation of the terroir, the similarities to the Burgundy region in France, how the vines are grown, the fruit picked, etc., was so interesting. It was one of the best wine tours we've had, all down to Tate's knowledge and pride in the Flat Rock Cellars product. Do yourself a favour and book a tour. If Tate is your guide, you are in for a fantastic experience!
Great wine, great staff. (ALINA)
