Fraser Judd

Really nice restaurant with local menu. Friendly service in a small spot.

Mike Kennedy

Decent food, nice atmosphere, great service. Only wish there was some “local” fare on the menu. I had asked around for the best place to get some local food, and this was the recommendation. Burgers and fish n chips. Same thing I can get at home. Oh well! The chili was great, however. I could have eaten gallons of that.

THE place to go in Inuvik. Pam and Brian take very good care of you. Make sure you get here early as there are only about 14 seats inside. You can sit outside and smell the goodness being cooked in a converted school bus! Most people love the tacos and the menu has something for most people. I had the Burger which was delicious. Definitely have the piece of tail dessert as that is a great way to end the meal!

Outstanding! The food was very good the owner was incredibly nice. the food is a very good price lower than you would expect from a restaurant in the north. The prices were comparable to what you would see in any restaurant in a major city any where else. love the bus fun to read all of the different stickers. Over all a lovely place with good food and a amazing atmosphere. There is nothing bad I can say about this place. Love it!

Was here a week ago. Had the fish tacos and piece of tail, both were excellent. Hospitality was fantastic. Sat on the rooftop patio. Great place to stop for a bite to eat in Inuvik.

Awesome food and experience! I had the white fish and loved it as well as the piece of tail which was delicious. Long Island iced teas and lots of sunshine made this an awesome evening. Service was very friendly and quick, didn’t forget anything, and even though they were busy we never felt rushed. If you are visiting Inuvik, going to Alestine’s is a must!

Awesome food and a great dining experience. The owners are very friendly. There is information and outdoor seating. If it's cold, they will build you a fire to sit around while you wait for space to become available indoors. The indoor portion of the seating area is quaint and intimate. This establishment is cash only at time of writing.

Alestine's is a great and unique little place nestled on the corner of Millen St. and Franklin Rd. (they cook and prepare thire food from their school bus!) They are located right across from the Happy Valley Campground, and provide a great location to chat with locals and travellers alike. Everything from fish and chips, to reindeer chili, and the local favourite eskimo donuts are served here. The white fish tacos are a personal favourite. Be sure to check this place out when visiting Inuvik! You won't be disappointed.

Alestine's is a great mom&pop restaurant with warm meals made with local fish. Owners, Pam and Brian, are the warmest, most welcoming people you will meet in Inuvik. Would highly recommend visitors and long time residents eat here!

Roberta Skiftun

Amazing! I looked forward to this all the way from Saskatchewan

Audrey VanderSchans

haf a seat upstairs in the open air. was lovely and the staff is super friendly

Take three tables in a room made for 2 and a half. Warm that space with people not afraid to share it. (Nobody wants to sit outside at minus 28 anyways, so get in and cozy up). Then put a kitchen in a bus and a washroom outside. You've got an atmosphere you can't find elsewhere. .... oh yeah, the food is fantastic. The service exceptional - with quirks.

Mehrdad Ziaei

This is a very cozy and friendly place. Delicious food and lovely hosts. If you come to inuvik you must eat here.

Best food in Inuvik. Now, you may think that’s not saying much, but even in a bigger town with more options Alestine’s would still stick out. Excellent fresh fish entrees, great side dishes, and a fantastic twist on the traditional Canadian beaver tail for dessert. All served on a nice deck or in a small enclosed room, and cooked in the school bus next door. If you’re in town you have to go!

Todd Glemser

Some of the best fish and chips.

Clayton Smith

6 out of 5 stars. The fish tacos were good, and the people were even better. Must stop in Inuvik.

Lorian Glatiotis

Always friendly and the secret pie is hands down the best part of coming here. Ask about off-the-menu dessert options and you won't regret it.

I was highly disappointed. As I went around Inuvik everyone told me this is the place to eat. They were very busy and I am ok with that. But I ordered an iced tea with my dinner which was never provided. The waitress took my order and never checked in with me again until my meal was complete. I ordered a Bison Burger and fries. The burger was slightly overcooked leaving it dry and the fries were slightly under cooked. I will say the sauce on the burger was great. I ended up being disappointed maybe because I had heard so many people telling me how great it was, but I doubt I would go back here again.
