Food is so amazing, one gots to try the pasta dish. service was top notch. I love this place
Food was great. People working there was very friendly and accommodating.
If you want to spend that much, go somewhere else. I was expecting more from the price (almost 200$) but it would be comparable to any other place where you’ll pay around 100$ for the same food. (-) It was either too oily or not enough sauce or too much depending on the meal. (+) The cooking was on point for the lamb and cocktails were good.
Refined cuisine in a quiet athmosphere. Not a cheap restaurant but the food is totally worth it.
The owner is very welcoming, as are the servers and other staff! The food is delicious and the limited food menu makes room eliminates the endless time is takes to decide on what to eat, and rather forces us to enjoy the company and nicely priced drinks ✌???? **The restaurant has taken all necessary precautions to keep customers and staff safe during the pandemic.**
Love the staff and the owners! Beautiful patio too!! Quite honestly my favourite bar in the market right now!!!
Tried the duck confit and it was one of the best I've had. The duck leg was piping hot, full of flavour, and had a nice crispy skin. The rest of the dish was well composed. Would definitely recommend and come back for this dish.
The staff was friendly, approachable and very helpful. They gave a very special day that extra little attention needed to make it very memorable. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon.
Both food and service were superb. Dishes were beautifully presented. We shared the crab salad, beef tartare, duck breast, and artic char. Would recommend.
Very pleasant dinner for a large group at Sur Lie. Service was excellent, the servers were knowledgeable and efficient. Food was very good, no complaints from anyone at the table. I had the duck confit and cassoulet and it was among the best I've ever had. While wine prices that can be up to three times the cost at the LCBO are a common complaint, they had a wide selection of prices from $45 up to hundreds, many of the available by the glass as well. Highly recommended!
amazing place, food is great and customer service top it off.
Sooo pretty!! Ask to sit on the patio it's beautiful!!! And the servers are very friendly
Descend food. Good ambiance. No one's spoke in French though and it's suppose to be a French restaurant
Love Aurel! The best waiter around. He was very attentive & made sure to check in with us throughout the night. If you come here, make sure to sit in his section!!
Amazing and unique food. Everything has an amazing blend of flavours, very well crafted dishes!
Beautiful decor and wonderful wait staff.
The atmosphere, the food, the service. Sur Lie provides a comfortable atmosphere, with great decor and lighting. The food is amazing, and served at just the right amount so you never leave feeling hungry or feeling too stuffed. The customer service here is impeccable, and I really believe it's what makes the difference when choosing to return. This restaurant has set a new standard for me, personally. I'll definitely be back.
Food was amazing and well plated, with excellent wine pairings available! Our server was warm, friendly, and attentive, never missed a beat! The birthday message with my dessert was a really nice touch -- and delicious, too! The entire experience was really special, thanks for the marvellous dinner!
We stopped in for happy hour and it was wonderful evening with incredible oysters and charcuterie board with great drinks all at a great price! The oysters were very fresh, clean and good sized with great taste and texture. The charcuterie board included melt in your mouth prosciutto, aged Quebec cheese, pickled veggies and the best Dijon mustard and strawberry purée ever! We will be back soon!
Awesome food and great service. We shared the board of assorted meats/etc. which was best for 3 people - but we had beef tartar (a bit over seasoned but good) and dessert (creme brule - which was AWESOME) so the sharing board worked for 4 of us. This is a great, intimate spot for dinner.
Great experience . Beautiful plates and wonderful food. The ambience of the restaurant is amazing. The service was really good we had two appetizers and it was excellent. Would go back again. It's a little bit pricey but it's worth the service and the food. It is modern French cuisine restaurant. I would surely go back. Loved it. The kitchen team is great and the service .
We had a great time. The host and server were lovely, the meal was fantastic. We came for a birthday dinner. The wine was great too. My duck confit was prefect, and the apps were unique. The charcuterie was my favourite. I would happily come back.
Great hidden gem in the Ottawa market. Staff were courteous, and always around if needed. I got the vibe they really liked their job, which always makes for outstanding service. Food was fantastic! There were so many great options to choose from on the menu, I'll have to go back to experience the rest!
The decor is beautiful and the service is great. We had the oysters which were delicious and the halibut and duck breast. Both were tasty.
Best place in the market
We were so rushed to leave that we actually could not enjoy our experience here. From the moment we got to the restaurant we were told we have 2 hours (ok..understandable because of Covid). From the moment we got our drinks, mains, and receipt we had only been at the restaurant for 30 mins. The waitress started clearing our plates before we were even finished! We had to awkwardly ask to leave the last plate at the table. The receipt was already printed before they even asked if there was anything else we wanted. That’s great that they have quick service, but this is supposed to be a night out… and the food and drinks are not cheap. I would not come back simply for the fact that this felt like a quick money transaction and get out.
This restaurant has it all! Incredible food, service and decor. Well done guys can't wait to come back!
Waited 30mins for 1 round of drinks while the place was empty at 5:45pm
Really amazing service ! The oysters were so fresh and delicious, definitely recommend. The Mai Thai and Sangria were also worth it!
Went here a week ago for a work event and the food was mind blowing! Staff is incredibly professional and their selection of wine is impressive. Will definitely go back!!
Delicioux!! Would come back to Ottawa just to visit this place again. Excellent food and service. Definitely recommend.
The restaurant was nicely furnished and service was great. Let me start and say I was a chef for 8 years and my expectations for these types of restaurants are high, so of course my issue was the food. It was not good at all! I got the …
Needs attention from the city and health
Good food at affordable price
I can’t say enough great things about Somewhere Dine Bar. The food is absolutely spectacular, atmosphere is perfect - the hidden patio is so beautiful and has such a great vibe. Staff is phenomenal, you can tell each employee is genuinely happy to be working there which is something you don’t see often. I highly recommend asking for Aurel or Emily as your sever, you will not be disappointed. It is very apparent that the owners take a lot pride in their establishment as it is very well reflected in every aspect of the restaurant. Majd is also such a sweet, caring person who will go above and beyond to ensure his guests are satisfied. I’ve had many things from Somewhere Dins Bars menu, everything is delicious. I highly recommend getting the oysters or the crab & corn dip to stars and steak or salmon as a main.
The $1 oysters from 4-6 pm are phenomenal and probably the best deal in the city when it comes to oysters. The fries are also the best I have had in a restaurant-crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. I was very impressed …
Loved It! The food was amazing and so was the service. Definitely going again.
The VIBE of this place is unreal!! Loved every bits of it !!
The servers are very professional and efficient, foods are good, looking forward to try their breakfast next time !
WOW! Great atmosphere, staff was attentive. All plates are excellent for and designed for sharing. Really impressed by some of the details, homemade bread, scallops cooked to perfection, a foie gras ice cream! Absolutely deliscious.
Friendly staff, delicious food, relaxing atmosphere. A great experience all around!
The food is a delicacy !! Just don’t go sit out on the back patio.
Great food. A little pricy, but you get what you pay for! The portion is modest and not "American-sized". Great environment too! Also a great wine selection and the staff is helpful in picking the right entrees to go along with the right wine.
Good vibe and service. Drinks were great and strong. Food was mediocre and pricey unfortunately. Back patio was beautiful though.
Atmosphere very good food as well good and pleasant service desert creme brulee to die for !
One of the best vibes for any patio in Ottawa. The combination of atmosphere, decor and music makes the scene very lively. Food and service are top notch. Can't wait to be back again!
I had the clams, smoked old fashion cocktail and few glasses of wines. It was very tasteful, I recommend !
The small menu is justified by freshness of the food. Great seafood options, and delicious drinks. A bit pricey but worth it for the atmosphere!
Top notch service and cuisine. I simply could not find any fault in any part of that experience; well balanced, right portion, impactful and memorable flavours in an unassuming atmosphere. Definitely will go back.
Pricey but worth it. Fantastic creative food. Excellent service. Will return
Waited for 3hours for food and expensiveaf, not a place for me
It's no longer somewhere for me it became a destination. Amazing ambience, delicious food and ultra-friendly and professional staff. This place is not to be missed.
Delicious food, great service, amazing servers, clean restaurant, beautiful environment, mercy!!
I came here for Sunday Brunch during Family Day weekend and this restaurant usually opens in the evenings. Not sure if the experience in part might be due to the long weekend... but the experience wasn't quite as what we expected. My hubby and I along with another couple decided to come here for Brunch since reviews for this restaurant are good and we liked the menu. We made a reservation for noon and got there on time, but the table that was reserved for us was still not available yet so we waited at the bar for almost half an hour. By then we had already ordered before we sat since we figured it would save time. However it still took another 20 mins after we sat at our table to get the appetizer, another 30 mins after that to get our entree only to realize they got my order wrong and had to wait another 10 mins for my food. Dessert did come out in time though. Aside from the service, the food was decent. I had the 3 course brunch with mimosa for $36 which seems reasonable in terms of price. You can also order a la carte, mains are about 16 dollars and apps are 12. The salmon tartare was very good - delicious, salmon was fresh, I liked the sauces mixed in to create the tartar and the only issue was while the portion was nice for the salmon, there were only two crackers on the plate. We tried to ask for more crackers and had to wait to get them before eating and in the end we got bread instead. The same bread we were served at the beginning, and I didn't really like that ( completely diff textures). I was hungry at that point so I ate the bread anyway. My hubby got the salmon Benedict and I got the stuffed brioche with foie gras. Both came with Rosti but as You can see in the picture it was quite over-fried. The edges were rock hard. My brioche was good but also a bit over cooked on the outside. The foie gras was nicely seared and was a unique combo with the berry compote that's inside the brioche. All in all I was happy with my dish aside from the Rosti being a bit hard. The Benedict eggs one of them was not runny and over cooked. My husband didn't find the dish any different than usual brunches. My friend ordered the steak and I think that dish was the highlight. The steak was cooked to perfect medium rare and a whopping 10oz! But her Rosti was also over fried as well unfortunately. Our other friend had the same dish as mine and he enjoyed it as well. Dessert - we ordered the almond and apricot creme brûlée and also the chocolate mousse and shared it. Usually I love creme brûlée but I liked the chocolate dish more. The cocoa nibs were amazing!!! With the gelato yum. The creme brûlée was refreshing but I wasn't crazy on the almond taste. All in all the food was decent with a minor issue of the Rosti. The food was beautifully presented. The manager gave us a 20% discount because of the wait for our table and getting my order wrong (they gave me duck sausage instead, which I did take a picture of). It's likely they are short staffed as there's only two in the front and two in the kitchen with a full restaurant. Although the service wasn't the greatest they did provide really good customer service and they were apologetic hence they offered the discount. But the timing was a bit long, by the end we were done we had been there for almost 3 hours. I would want to come back again sometime to try their French dinner :)
Ghetto like place , with people*staff acting like they are in their living room , actually mentioning they hate the place , good food though!
This restaurant is classy & cozy, short menu with with good choices!
Amazing experience. Excellent service, attention to details. The food is exquisite and the have always awesome options when you have food restrictions. The ambiance with the DJ makes its fun and trendy.
Try the brunch exploration menu. So. Good.
Incredible service! Delicious food!
Great event space, lovely patio, delicious oysters, awesome appetizers and small plates. Great cocktails. Really enjoyed the atmosphere
Great atmosphere, tasty food and respectful to the new covid rules. Would definetly recommend this spot.
That the best dinner I ever eat on my life!
Amazing place for brunch, excelente customer service and food.
I noticed a new restaurant opened up, so i decided to stop by. The experience was fantastic, the food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. The server recommended the seared scallops with a white wine. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I am definitely stopping by again and would recommend this to anyone.
Excellent service. The smoked Old Fashioned should definitely be tried. Tuna carpaccio was really tasty, as we're the burger, the Cornish hen, the steak tartare, and the black cod.
The duck confit was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. Ended dinner with the Carmel panna cotta and was not disappointed. Service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Would definitely come back to this restaurant.
Amazing atmosphere and people, the staff is wonderful and the food delicious. Must recommend.
Now this is a unique resturant, I loved it.
I recently went to somewhere to celebrate my sisters birthday. The staff was warm and the atmosphere was beautiful! Our server went above and beyond to ensure that our meal and birthday celebration was nothing short of incredible. The …
Go SOMEWHERE other than here ???? food portions sized for an ant... Priced for a God.
Really fun place and awesome service from Chelsea!
I was so excited to try Somewhere since so many people on instagram go there. Also, the picture of the food there seemed amazing. Unfortunately, i was far from impressed. I asked to be seated outside since its summer but when realized it was gonna be chilly asled if we could move inside. I was told that they weren't sure they'll be able to find space inside for that same time and to keep our reservation outside since its covered and heated. Fait enough! We arrived and sat at our table, very charming place but quite small. We realized that the heater over our head wasn't working and they told us it was a problem with the breakers or something... the other tables were taken so we stayed there. I ordered the sangria, it was overly watered down and tasteless. My friends ordered a lavender drink that apparently was good. Then the food... I was expecting what we saw on the pictures at least... I ordered the lamb which i thought would be a good piece... It was 4 little lamb CHOPS with 3 potato pieces and a tone of tzaziki sauce...all that for 58$. My sister got the gnocchi poutine that was dry and no sauce. A friend got the steak and they over cooked it and then another got the tartare which apparently wasn't bad but not enough seasoning. .. and the portion was so small that they ordered a side of fries. Overall, we tried it to see what all the hype was about. It's mainly an instagramable place (there's a big wall full of greenery and flowers) but the food and drinks were below our expectations. I would not return unfortunately, very deceived.
This place was definitely a BIG no for me. From the service to the food, I had an awful experience. The people waiting on us were somewhat snotty and when we needed something we had to ask like 3 different waiters in order to get served. I ordered the rib burger which was indeed bland and my friends ordered the duck. This resulted in us puking and having diarrhea for days. This place is overpriced for nothing and I wish I had never stepped foot in it. Word of advice: if you're looking for a mediocre overpriced food then this is the place for you.
two stars for atmosphere, no stars for packing people into booths shoulder-to-shoulder and no one wearing masks. hard pass.
I will never eat at this place. Being their neighbour is absolutely horrible. The past three weeks they have been piling their garbage on top of the garbage cans designated to our apartment, so we can't access our garbage. They blast music …
This new restaurant looks great, the atmosphere and the service was also very pleasant. PEI oysters were only 1$ before 7pm and they were absolutely delicious. Actually, all our food was absolutely amazing. My favorite was the raspberry shortcake. Please note that they have also a great selection of beers on tap and wine.
Great service and excellent cocktails! The reason for the 3 stars is charging $26 for a plate of pasta that was unfortunately lacking in flavour. The dish was pretty bland and definitely not worth the price tag. If you’re looking for a place to grab some drinks, highly recommend. If you want food I’d go somewhere else.
The food, the service, the vibes..... Impeccable ????????????
Phenomenal experience! Jess was wonderful! Compliments to the chefs!
Love love love this place . Can’t wait to come back . Had the tasting menu with pairings and I was blown away
This was a very good, but not amazing dinner. The service was quite good, although I did find the ambient music a tad loud. For the appetizers, we had the Scallops (Excellent), the Foie Gras (One can never go wrong with Foie Gras), and also the Carpaccio (Also very good). For the mains, we had the Duck Confit, which was done with a Maple glaze, and was fairly good, as well as the Lamb Shank, which was excellent. However, the meal was let down somewhat by the Steak frites. The steak was somewhat greasy, not helped by the Foie Gras butter, the aioli was somewhat bland and the fries were not amazing either. It simply wasn't worth the price, in my opinion. But the cauliflower gratin was excellent, and I'd highly recommend it. Overall, it gets 4/5 because while good, it was not excellent, and there's better food for the money in Ottawa.
Good food but not worth the price, delivered by stiff service. There are a number of farm-to-table restaurants in Ottawa now that can deliver a higher quality for the same price and still manage slightly larger portions. The beef tartare was nothing to write home about, nor the ravioli. The food is 'nice' but not at all spectacular or inventive. We were the only table sat outside and service was inattentive. On the occasions he did come around he was quite cold and reserved, just didn't seem like a server. I came with my parents who granted - have awful jokes - but as a server myself I think at least a fake smile is appropriate to make the atmosphere a little warmer.
Incomparable
Not bad but price lil expensive kinda kool back patio . Staff was friendly
From outside it looked as if it was a casual cafe, once you enter it becomes a top notch, classy bar. The best part about this place is the discrete patio at the back, which one can never assume they might have, unless you see it. Loved the vibe of the place.
Food was fantastic! Simply amazing. I wish I lived here as i would just move in.
Excellent restaurant with high quality and delicate food. After the first visit, my wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary in this restaurant. Our reservation was cancelled by the restaurant. We have been noticed that we had no table available for us at the door of this institution. However, the owner was a great gentleman. He explained to us that it was the fault of OpenTable reservation system. He offered us $100 gift certificate for his own restaurant as an excuse. In addition, he sent us to another and same standard restaurant and he paid for everything. A great gesture that we will never forget. I feel sorry that I lost my temper for a moment. Great thanks.
Very good atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was well priced and delicious
Incredible patio outback...I stopped by for a private party and look forward to coming back to try more of their food
Not pleased with my experience at all. It was not busy and the server acted as if we were inconveniencing her every time she came to the table. Food was overpriced and tasted as if it should have came from Warehouse for $5. I ordered a dish …
A truly fantastic dining experience. Tried multiple dishes. Each bite was different from the last and had multiple levels of flavour and texture. Highly recommend.
Oysters, some things, main things and sweet things are all delicious. Real fine fresh dining! We were planning to eat on the patio but unfortunately we missed the opportunity because of the rain. Thanks for everything.
Delicious food, truly. An awesome mix of traditional and local french inspiration. the restaurant offers an extensive and nicely matched wine list as well as a full scale bar.
Wow ! Service, presentation & food was excellent ! Lamb sauce was delicious. Seasoned to perfection ! The meat was perfectly cooked ! I tried to find negative points but really couldn't find anything !
Fabulous! One of the best meals of my life. I chose the discovery menu and literally every single bite was mouthwateringly good. Atmosphere was lovely, we could hear each other in our group of 5 but a nice buzz in the background.
Stopped in for happy hour on the back patio. They have a nice selection of appetizers and drinks available.
Excelent food with very good service
Lovely dinner, deep wine list, good attention to details.
This has turned into my favourite spot in Ottawa. I celebrated my 24th birthday here, and it was a great time. Their food is delicious, and their cocktails are great. The $10 triples are idea if you want to get very drunk. The interior is gorgeous and they play great music. The fact they have heaters made it enjoyable at the end of September. I told staff that it was my birthday, and they brought us a creme brulee and we did shots with the owner. I will be back here again and again.
This place was really amazing. The service was very useful and professional, giving proper recommendations when asked for them and always around when needed but not invasive at all. We were helped with our jackets when we arrived and also …
The place is pretty. And the staff was really nice. However, the price wasn't worth it considering the quality and flavor of the food. I came here with my bf and we ordered one cocktail of piñacolada, which was kinda bitter. Our entree was the burrata flatbread which was actually good. But our main course was trofie pasta, and it wasn’t great. And all those 3 things plus the tip was almost 200 dls. I knew this place was pricey but I thought it would at least taste really good. Personally, I won’t recommend it.
The food was delicious and the presentation was fantastic! The cuisine is French inspired with playful modern twists. The wine selection is also well researched and includes good Ontario wines.
Terrific food, good service, fine Martini. Just wish the patio had better ambiance, although it's quiet if that's what you're looking for.
New to the area still i decided to check out "s o m e w h e r e dine bar". I walked in off the street on a Sunday evening at about 730pm and the pace was full. There was room at the bar and being my usual single party of one, that suited …
We had our Valentine’s day dinner here. This restaurant used to be the Murray Street Bistro so the environment looked extremely familiar but updated with tasteful décor. With that being said, our reservation was for 9:00 pm. We were not seated until 9:15, which is fine, it's Valentine's day and it's expected to be busy. My colleague and I decided to try the 5 course tasting menu as normally it's a good way to gauge the food quality at such an establishment. 3 of the dishes were great and memorable, the other 2 were nothing to write home about and even, I hate to say it, low quality. My colleague complained that the tenderloin was too dry, but personally I found it to be quite nice. The only thing I disliked were the beets as a course without anything complimenting them. Our meal took almost 3 hours, and our server explained that one of the chef's just had a child so they were understaffed. That is understandable, and I admire her honesty. The service was professional and friendly, and I appreciate how apologetic our server was regarding the wait and the circumstances. She did offer to comp our drinks, which we declined. Would we try Sur Lie again? Probably, on a quieter evening. I don't think last night was a fair representation of the capabilities of this restaurant. Perhaps next time we will try an a la carte experience as opposed to the 5 course tasting menu.
I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. Our first visit was good but not great. We went again tonight (a Sunday) and took advantage of their no corkage fee Sundays. The service can be slow but the staff is friendly and professional. Tonight we had the tuna crudo (INCREDIBLE) and the Chateaubriand with cauliflower. The beef was absolutely exquisite. Perfectly cooked and absolutely tender. The jus and potatoes were well prepared and delightful accoutrements to the tenderloin. It was a fantastic meal. 100% recommend this share plate. You don't need a side if it is just two splitting it (we got cauliflower not knowing portion size and it was unnecessary). Our experience tonight was stellar compared to our alright experience a couple of months ago. We will be back.
Lively atmosphere and chill staff. Lay out of area is comfortable and they have plenty of seating for small and larger groups. Nice spot for a weekend out.
Still thinking of my duck confit a day later... yummm
Awesome french restaurant. Superb alcohol selection and knowledgeable staff. Great place to eat for a special occasion.
Beautiful decor and very pleasant and lovely service. The waiter was attentive, courteous, and hospitable. The food itself is very well priced with good food portions. Again, the service was top notch and out waiter accommodated us very well for the special occasion. They have a newly opened patio in the back which is very beautiful. Very highly recommend.
Comfortable and attractive establishment with quality food and quality service. Will definitely be back!
Best place in Ottawa for amazing French culinary experience! Highly recommended ????????????????
Great atmosphere and incredible food! I really enjoyed all of the food. We chose 4 appetizers, 2 mains, 2 desserts, and one glass of red and one glass of white wine. I enjoyed every dish, and would like to go back again. Btw, they have parking on the side of the building, a huge plus!
my friend and I had made a reservation on open table a week prior the day of the visit. First they put us outside where it is very cold and said we are allowed to stay up to 2 hours, then a few minutes later the waitress came back and told us we are only allowed for one hour and half (we left after one hour by the way). The tables and seats really need refreshements, it's really a shame. But after a few a minutes there, we realized that this place runs on Middle easterns doing their hooking up things there.. Food is OK yet french fries are not home made. We paid over 180$ and was not really worth it. I highly advised not go there. That was our first time there and certainly the last one. Ciao bye !
When you start a meal with a plate of bread that is not only completely unimaginable but also tasteless, and finish it with a 5 start level bill, you know it’s a fail. The food was, OK, service was OK. But that’s about it. The prices are too high for what you get while attention to details is just not part of the equation. We will not be returning.
Excellent service. Take advantage of the BYOW Sunday’s!
Shockingly terrible. Waited 2.5 hrs after they thought we ordered a burger for two people even though we had asked individually asked for the chicken and the salmon…not sure how that gets confused. Finally when our dishes arrived at 10:30pm after arriving at 8pm (not exaggerating) the chicken was laughably dry and the seasoning was disgusting, even worse was the salmon…which tasted like River fish, which I’m fairly certain was some cheap frozen trout filet from overseas. The server was extremely apologetic…but we couldn’t eat more than a couple bites, ended up having to stop at McDonald’s on the way home, that’s how bad it was.
Atmosphere is everything in a restaurant. We showed up to the grand opening last night and felt the right vibes. Very pleased with both food and staff.
So nice here. Even when it's raining they have a covered patio with really nice decor. Great atmosphere. Excellent food and beverages.
My family and I just enjoyed the most delicious meal ever! “The food was incredible” says my father. We got the share plater for 4, which was cooked to perfection. Rebecca, our server, was delightful. definitely a must experience restaurant while in Ottawa. Enjoy!
A great effort at micro gastronomy, but they still have a way to go. Not considering the physical state of both the men's and women's washrooms, the food was tasty but the presentation and combination needed work. For the price the value just wasn't there. They should try to focus on one cuisine instead of trying various types. Would not go back unless it improved greatly.
The food there is really tasty and affordable. They have a new $1 oyster deal going on too for all you oyster lovers. The cocktails are delicious and nicely presented. I will definetly be going there again!
Great location and setting, food portion is offensively small and creative
Vibe is one of a kind. Amazing food and great staff. What a gem for Ottawa.
Cozy atmosphere, great service.
Growing with a father that cook in a french restaurant his whole life, this place took me back to these wonderful memories, and show me once again how perfect and special dinning can be, when is done right!
Great quality food. Friendly service. Will visit again.
Very good service, very tasty food and smooth ambiance. Not too noisy, great quality!
Tasty food! For 3 days we've been in Ottawa, this restaurant is absolutely the best! Glad we found it! Thankss!
Friendly staff. Average food. Average cocktails. Nice back patio. Ask for cushioned seating. Opened 1 month ago. Still finding their stride. They have promise but please note any google reviews pre-dating July 12th, 2020 are based on previous concept "Sur Li".
The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was great too. They were also very helpful and accommodating with food sensitivities. Prices were great for the quality.
Food was amazing and the drinks were great. The service was also very good. Lovely atmosphere.
Amazing food and service!
Great cocktails! When in doubt, ask the the bartender... he was very helpful and knowledgeable.
I was here for a private breakfast function, but I was very happy with the restaurant, and I hope it is indicative of their daily service. They had two serving staff who were very efficient and were always keeping the coffee/water filled. The food was very nicely presented and was delicious. The venue is not overly spacious, but was comfortable and well laid out. I need to point out that there are a few stairs at the front door, and the washrooms are down a flight of stairs.
Came here for an after graduation celebratory dinner with my parents. The rabbit loin and terrine were very delicious! Love their asparagus soup too!
Amazing meal. Great staff that was attentive and friendly. We had a very large group and they were very accommodating. We will be back soon!
Great food & amazing service.
Cute little place for a nice dinner. Cocktails are overly expensive at around $16 though but beer is at a normal price. Food was great, location is nice, staff was friendly.
Phenomenal service every time I attend this location!
Great place. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Excellent service. The food was delicious. I really liked the charcuterie board. Overall a lovely experience in a warm atmosphere. Definitely a must try.
Outstanding food and service , great job. Highly recommended
Refined and delicious. Had the tasting menu with wine pairing and loved every dish. Great choice of flavours and textures and topped off with fabulous raspberry themed dessert.
A cozy dining establishment that offers a delightful culinary experience!
We really wanted to like this place. Our server Maddie was great - attentive and kind. Unfortunately I was served RAW chicken. I am also pregnant, so this was extremely upsetting and dangerous. I was not charged for my meal as a result, and my husband was offered a complimentary beverage. What was disappointing to us is that the manager/owner was sitting right beside us at the bar the entire time, watched me return my raw chicken and never came over to speak to us. Yet he had no problem getting up to greet people walking through the door. Another thing that alarmed us was the amount of patrons walking through the restaurant without masks on. I went down to use the washroom (which is extremely tiny and by regulations should have a sign indicating one person at a time) two girls came out not wearing masks. All in all, we won't be returning.
Really nice atmosphere and it wasn’t overly busy when I went, granted it was a Sunday. Their prices are very reasonable, so it’s worth checking out.
Great wines and food, attentive service staff, overall a great value for money experience.
Authentic and absolutely deserving the high praise it receives. Pleasant quiet atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Amazing, high quality wine selection by the glass. I tried the flute of red French wines - an impressive tasting set and a few whites - all high quality and reasonably priced. For food I had the veal sweetbreads with gnocchi, what a treat - loved it.
I was excited to go for their advertised Sunday brunch and was very disappointed to be greated by a locked door with no note explaining why they were closed. Please update your hours if you are no longer open for brunch.
Good food and good service
Was looking for a place for my wife and I for our one year anniversary and found this 5 star rated restaurant and had to book a reservation. The service and the food was delightful. The hostesses and servers were very polite and were always ready to help. I will definitely be coming back!
Great food great prices. The only problem is the server wasent so great witht the service.
My friend and I couldn’t have enjoyed our evening at Sur-Lie more. Riley, our waiter, went above and beyond for us. Definitely recommend and will be going back for the famous Saturday oyster nights! Thank you for such a great and delicious night out!
Quaint little french restaurant. Cozy decor, knowledgeable staff, decent wine offerings. Where this place shines though is the food, they have some really, really beautiful food. From presentation, to taste, to portion size, just outstanding. My wife's steak was one of the best we have ever tried, and we have eaten out more times than I could begin to count.
Sur Lie periodically partners with wineries to offer a special 6 course dinner pairing wines with their food. This one - excellent as always - featured La Manufacture with some superb Chablis and pinot noir from France. An enjoyable evening with first class food and friendly, thoughtful service. Only one quibble: the courses all (except the opening oysters and the final cheese course) were like one repeated chord of music. Pleasant, but the best multi course dinners are presented as a chord progression, not just repetition of the same tune. Each featured a different protein (sablefish, smoked pork tenderloin, beef etc.) alongside various purees and soft, buttery mixes of root vegetables.
A few problems, but generally pretty good. To start with, the prices posted on the website a few days prior to our reservation were changed in the interim period, and the difference was noticeable. The website, however, has now been updated, matching the prices on the menu. Our server was excellent, so absolutely not issues in that department. The foie gras is now in the form of a classic terrine, rather than the previously pan-fried deliciousness that they had on offer. Unfortunately it is quite bland, and far from an improvement on the previous dish. The cranberries and the crispy fried decorations that come with it pair nicely, but the ice wine jelly squares (I think that's what they were) do not provide any contrast in texture nor taste. Winter salad was good, but nothing to write home about. Our main courses, on the other hand, were flawlessly spectacular, both the scallops and the veg agnolotti. Now, the dessert. The menu was different from what can be found online, so we ordered something other than what I orgininally looked at. While it was tasty enough, in no way was what we were served a 'creme brulee.' The alleged 'creme' had the consistency of cream of wheat/cooked semolina, rather than the smooth goodness of, well, pure cream. If a few of these problems were to be fixed, this place would be among the best restos in town.
It was ok, some of the things were a little burnt, for $240 for two people without alcohol, to expensive not have perfect food.
Delectable food that you won't find in too many places. Great and fast service
Really enjoyed our experience at Sur Lie. The food was delicious, great service, nice ambience and good drinks. We tried a bunch of different things and were all satisfied with our dishes.
What a hot spot to bring a date. Food has been elevated to the next level. Boom! A must visit!
This is an absolute hidden gem in Byward Market. It's very cosy and has great lighting and tasteful jazz in the background, and the food is absolutely spectacular. I got the tuna carpaccio and duck confit. The tuna was a whirlwind of flavours and textures that all played beautifully together, with the saltiness of the capers and the mild creaminess of the fried goat cheese. The duck confit was absolutely magnificent. The duck was crispy but tender and everything else was delicately flavoured so as to not overpower the duck. The lemon thyme home fries were pretty bomb. All of this was topped with excellent service. I'd definitely recommend a visit!
My brother & I shared the beef tartare, gnocchi & beef filet - the best meal we have ever had in Ottawa. Beautiful plating, so many incredible flavors working together to create a really unique & delicious dining experience. Service was friendly, personal yet professional. The room is traditional with a modern twist in the light fixtures & painted exposed brick, beautiful. We can't wait until our next visit to Sur Lie!
A tragically overpriced and inexcusably mediocre experience. The food is either unremarkable and bland or conversely doused in salt to make up for the chef’s complete lack of inspiration. The service is dull and slow. If you feel like spending $150 (or more) on what is essentially a pretentious version of Moxie’s, Sur Lie is the way to go. I for myself do not like feeling violated.
Wonderfully intimate atmosphere, went on a Tuesday and they had just changed the menu. I ordered the crispy sweetbreads, couldn't even snap a picture before I devoured them. Highly recommend.
Hidden gem right downtown, once you taste the food, it all makes sense. Good experience for the tastebuds
Absolutely amazing dining experience; from the food, wine, service, ambience, and friends. Truly special place.
The patio was so amazing
Food was fantastic. I'd been to the location as Murray street and the transformation to Sur Lie was seamless. Wait staff was great and looking forward to the summer to test out the amazing patio. Highly recommend.
Amazing food. Pricey but worth every penny!
I had the Duck confit... excellent! Excellent service. Again!!
I got food poisoning here and had to go to the hospital. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the service was great and they didn't charge us for 1 of the meals because we barely ate it.
Amazing service, even better food. Everything is top quality, from the wine and cocktails to the food menu.
Steak frites was one of the best I have ever had
Superb service and food was delicious. Bartenders are especially knowledgeable in their craft. Highly recommend.
Friendly, great food, good service. Thoroughly enjoyable
Best new restaurant in town. May well prove to be one of the best restaurants in town, period. I found all five courses matched in quality and style. Good wine pairings. Great evening.
WOW! I tried this place last night with a friend of mine. I was extremely impressed. Could be my new favorite restaurant in town. The food was so good. The presentation. The service. Everything was perfect. Definitively a 5 star.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere just as amazing and the drink we're top notch.
Love the food there, even tho it was a bit pricey. Went there in the summer when they had $1 oyster. Their scallop dish was amazing, will def come back!
Great restaurant. Had a good and wine pairing as part of a tour. Everything was smooth and both items were excellent
Staff is super friendly, cocktails are great and creative. One of the nicest looking patio. The tall fellow Jacob is on of the best bartenders I’ve met in a while
This was a great place for dinner. Loved the food and the service was amazing! Would highly recommend
This restaurant has gone severely downhill over the past couple years. The service is terrible, the food is laughably overpriced and the quality of food you get for the price you pay is almost violating. The steak I paid 40 dollars for looked like it had been boiled. It was grey and tough although I asked for it rare. It was insanely salty and the sides were pathetic... literally a full potato cut in half and some broccoli. At that price, I expect a little creativity or at least some effort. I gave this restaurant many chances since, but this was my last one. I won’t be going back.
Great good service was ok. could be better
At first glance the atmosphere was good but as soon as we sat down the waitress reminds us that we must have left after 1:30. I think she could have invited us to the bar instead of making us feel like we had to hurry especially that all the table around us were empty. The drinks were good. The burrata starter was really simple for $ 24. The salmon was bland and the gnochies cold. In short, we will not be returning.
Decor is nice. Bar tender made the night, best drinks in ottawa. If only the food was as good, over salted on every course. Waiting time is high even if you have reservation. Service is poor. Door and windows bring cold draft to customers. Overly loud , can't hear your self talk
Exceptional food! If you live in Ottawa or visit it's a must for dinner.
The service was amazing! Prices are decent! Charcuterie board is really worth it!!! Thanks for A lovely evening!!! We will go back! Scotch list could be better for a whiskey bar.
I found this restaurant through Instagram, the pictures looked mouthwatering so I decided to give it a try, I can say that I am very glad I did! I ordered the duck breast as my entrée, I would definitely recommend this to anyone. During my time at Sur Lie, I was constantly shown that my patronage is appreciated, my waitress was fantastic, and I left in a far better mood than I arrived. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone living in, or passing through, the area.
Went for lunch today with for co-workers birthday. The food and drinks were top notch. Plus the service was great. Had the tartare, steak and creme brulee. The patio was a nice touch also.
I had the halibut tonight .It was fabulous and so the rabbit Excellent service
I asked to have my cheese in my burger replaced with bacon. Waitress said okay. When I got my bill I was charged extra. I can't believe how cheap the owner of this location is. I say no cheese, but please replace with bacon and they charge me extra. Never coming back. I refused to support cheap owners. He or she should be ashamed of themselves
Ambiance was wonderful and the food and drink presentation was gorgeous, but the food itself was just okay and service was borderline dismissive. Heavy on the salt across the board, an extremely fishy smelling lobster risotto, and some strange flavour combos unfortunately meant the tasting menu felt like quite poor value. The cocktails were excellent. Probably wouldn't return given how many other stellar restaurants there are in Ottawa - especially at that price point.
We had a party celebration at Sur Lie and I have to say, everything was perfect. The service and organization was very proffessional, everyone was very kind. The food and drinks were truly exceptional. We fully recommend Sur Lie for any occasion or just a small dinner.
excellent food, wine pairing and service..!
This place slaps. The patio is a vibe during the summer. Service is on point, especially if you get Aurel as your server. The food is super good. The only thing I absolutely do not recommend is their heirloom tomato appetizer. It was like 20$ and was just heirloom tomatoes sliced in half with a bit of garnishing on top... avoid it lol
Excellent food and service; the charcuterie and the cheese board were well done. You do pay for this excellence, however.
Love their foie gras.
We drove from Montreal to attend this restaurant for a friends 35th birthday. When we arrived there was a very loud obnoxious party being held. The dining rooms were separated by a curtain and our party of 7 was seated at two round table pushed together so I had to sit with my back to half the table. The first waitress we had could remember the tasting menu or the special. I decided to go with the seated scallop entre and the lamb shank. But were bland and frankly over priced for what they were. Creme brulee was tasty but a very large portion definitely recommend sharing. I see what this restaurant was trying to be, but they are not quite there yet
We made reservation ahead. They told us table would be ready soon at the restaurant. We waited for 40 minutes believing that we would get a table. We left without eating as kids were too hungry and tired standing for 40 minutes. It is not a kids friendly place and no waiting area except of the bar. Wish they could have told us the truth that they could not tell how long we need to wait instead of trying to appeace us.
Great spot, food on point, awesome crowd, even better servers.
could easily catch covid there
The food was PHENOMENAL, but the service was subpar. We had reservations for 8:00 but our table was not ready so we were seated at the bar. We had to ask for our table and it was almost 9:00 before we were finally seated. The waiter was so quiet, we had to ask him to speak up multiple times. We ordered the five course tasting menu with wine pairing and one of our wines was served rather warm, it seemed like the bottle had been stored next to the heater. They did replace the wine with another red after we had finished that course. However the replacement was not nearly as nice. The wine was also poured rather sparingly. Our bill was over $300 and we were not overly impressed with anything but the food. We've been here before and the food drew us back in, but we will not be visiting a third time.
Great Ottawa restaurant that always pleases. Menu is well balanced to suit anyone for dinner. Staff make special occasions that much more special. Thanks
Lovely atmosphere outside on the patio. They have their patio at the back of the restaurant, it’s filled with string lights and other nice decor, perfect for a night out. …
Absolutely loved it... Great service, and excellent food... Great place for a casual drink or a nice dinner
Incredible meal. One of the best I've had in Ottawa.
Excellent food, amazing taste, reasonably price; best dining experience I have in Ottawa!
Service was ok but nobody who works there wears a mask. Very upsetting. Also, bartender doesn't wash his hands before or after sprinkling stuff in your drinks. Very unsanitary
Went for lunch today and very pleased. Both the dishes and service are excellent!
Great food, great service and the perfect atmosphere , if you enjoy tremendous cuisine, this is a gem of a place.
Amazing French cuisine, but pricey.
Good wine and cocktails. Excellent food.
Great food! Excellent service. Great 3 course lunch special for $40.
I tried their duck and it was great, would consider going back soon. Cocktails were interesting too
The foie gras is awesome! Great cozy French dining. Super tasty, I would love to go every week! Courteous and knowledgeable staff.
The food and service are amazing.
We were there yesterday, a group of 8 people. We had a great time, the atmosphere was great; but most importantly, the food was fantastic: I had the venison, succulent! For dessert, we chose six different kinds of ice cream that we all shared, all delicious. I will definitely return :).
Great service, great food - nice for special occasions
The drinks were delicious and the service was great but sadly the food was very mediocre and expensive. We had the chicken and gnocchi poutine, both cheaply prepared and not that flavorful. Nothing like the pictures of gorgeous dishes we saw here and on Yelp! They change their menu often so perhaps we just were unlucky with what was available that day.
was in town visiting and stumbled across this place, somewhere is definitely the place to be if you're looking for a fine dining experience and some delicious cocktails, Had the pleasure of meeting Majd (one of the owners) and he treated us so well we came back two more times while we were in town. thank you to our awesome server Emily as well for making our experience at somewhere great!
Food is decent (similar to Sur Lie, the place before it - same owners/chef perhaps?). The crowd is young and loud - doesn't feel like the two should mix. Higher end food, lower end clientele.
Made reservations here with my boyfriend on valentines day and will be going back for every special occasion! The chef was amazing, served us with the best scallops I’ve ever eaten (and I’m from the east coast). Small and cozy with an excellent wine and beverage collection as well.
Went to Sur Lie for an anniversary dinner with my wife. Heard great things about the food and went to give it a try. We had oysters to start which were great! I had the salmon crudo and my wife had the beef tartare. Both were delicious as well. The restaurant had started to fill up and we noticed that service started to slow down a bit. The mains came and both dishes were amazing! I would highly recommend the scallop dish. By this time we had been there for just over 2 hours. Our server seemed to be busy behind the bar making drinks all night for all his tables. It was hard to get his attention. He sent the hostess over to take our dessert order probably because he was in the weeds. A few minutes later he brought over our espresso and cappuccino so naturally we thought our desserts would soon follow. 40 mins later there still was no dessert. We managed to flag our server down and said to go ahead and cancel our desserts because it had been way too long. He said he would go ahead and do that but did not even offer the slightest apology for the wait. In talking to the table beside us, they had waited an hour and half for their main course. They had almost finished off their bottle of wine by the time their meal came. Overall, the food was excellent. I'm hoping it was an off night for the kitchen because the experience towards the end was not a memorable one.
Great spot for a special night. My wife and I had fantastic anniversary dinner when we were visiting Ottawa.
Stopped in by chance - a great place to have a delicious meal ! Smaller menu with a variety of choices - duck was a wonderful choice as was the chicken dish . Next time we’ll try the beef - or stick with the lovely duck on the menu! The service was attentive & early special on wine was a good offer with the dinner! Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a place to eat a delicious meal or go for a drink or a shared dessert and hot cup of coffee . There is a patio in a the back of the restaurant - but the day we were there the weather had unfortunately turned to cooler conditions- hence a patio table was not in the plans . Maybe next patio season !
Just incredible. Every single bite!
Food and service were great! Definitely recommend to friends and family.
Was looking for a French restaurant to take my fiancée to celebrate our anniversary. She has difficult tastes, but she was pleaseantly surprised with the quality of food and service. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable, made great recommendations. Will definitely be visiting again.
Very harmonious combination of all elements of a good restaurant - delicious and sharp food, attentive service, elegant and pleasant interior.
Excellent service from our hostess. All dishes are immaculately prepared using the freshest ingredients. We had the lamb shank and steak as main dishes. Both were cooked to perfection. The beet salad and the brussel sprout salad were also delicious with generous portions. Will definitely come here again next time we are in Ottawa.
Good service & bartender makes really good drinks.
Stopped in and had a few items off the late night menu. Amazing! And the cocktails are so worth it. Service was perfect and very fun atomosphere. Highly recommend!
Classy french restaurant, great service, nice decor and ambience.
Great vibe and amaxing service!! It's the place to be on a night out or if you wanna just eat drink and chill on the patio.
Owners and staff are incredible, always a good time here
Lovely spot in the middle of Ottawa with outdoor seating. The menu was fantastic combined with great service. We had the gnocchi poutine, burger and charcuterie board. Everything was fresh and delicious. Majd & the team are the best in town!
Excellent meal. My wife and i each did the sampler. No item disappointed. Excellent service and good wine. Pricey but worth it.
Food is wonderful, great service. Will go back again next time we are in Ottawa
High end food and drinks. Excellent service
went for brunch. price was reasonable and food was good. service was great. definitely interested in trying out dinner here.
Fabulous! One of the best meals of my life. I chose the discovery menu and literally every single bite was mouthwateringly good. Atmosphere was lovely, we could hear each other in our group of 5 but a nice buzz in the background.
Delicious food and excellent service.
Amazing food, good atmosphere! Worth to visit ????
The best possible combonation of taste and service. Wonderful, deserves all the accolades it has received. But why am I alone at lunch? Given the quality, they should be lining up...
Great place. Cocktails are amazing.Staff is wonderful. Highly recommend.
Popped in for my friends birthday, super nice ambiance. Can honestly say the best beef tar tar I've ever had.
5 star but the peppers back in the tar tar !!!!
I am not one to usually write reviews, but after my experience last night, I had to. Food was ok, but service was horrible! Waited over 30 minutes before even being awknowledged, and over 2 hours for our main course. We will not come back here.
What can I say! The food was absolutely wonderful. We were three friend enjoying a get together and we all chose a different meals. The only thing we could say after each plate was "Mmmmm" and the service was so pleasant and cheerful. Please try to make Sur Lie on you "Must Do" list. It is really worth it.
Love appetizers, nice mains, amazing services, reasonable price. Standard seats and bar seats offered. Reservation friendly. Servers would hang jacket for you. For appetizers, I had scallops, oysters and foie gras. They are all very delicious. Definitely recommend. For mains, I had duck leg and striploin. Duck leg is delicious, but the other two pieces of duck in the plate were hard to chew. I asked for replacement for the two pieces and the kitchen did better in the second time. My servers were really nice. Striploin and fries were good, but the price was expensive.
Can't say enough about our wonderful experience at Sur Lie. service was exceptional : personal and attentive. Menu offerings were varied and selections were well-presented and delicious. Overall a gem to which we will return.
A nice pale to have a great meal. The food is awesome. The service is decent.
Lovely ambience in the restaurant. The staff was very courteous and the menu had an excellent selection. I had the salmon paired with their Pinot Grigio, followed by the matcha crème brulée. All of it was very well prepared and delicious. Thank you very much for a lovely meal
Would give negative stars if I could. Was invited here to celebrate a friend's birthday so I didn't make as big of a deal as I would've liked. Service was quite slow. I understand that it was a busy evening, but for the amount of staff …
Great ambiance, excellent patio and knowledgeable service. The Veuve and oysters special is a wonderful way to spend your Saturday afternoon. Near the Market but far enough off that the noise isn't too bad on the back patio - good shade there too. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner before a show.
Amazing food, great service
We were started off with 2 glasses of bubbles on the house, since we were celebrating our anniversary. This pleasant surprise made a very good first impression. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer our questions. Having a hard time deciding on what to order and keeping in mind we had a concert to attend 2 hours later, we ended up getting the $80 five-course tasting menu (oyster amuse-bouche, root veggies salad, seared scallops, duck breast, beef filet, and chocolate tart) and the $40 wine pairing menu (riesling, sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, bordeaux, porto). We ended up being almost 30 min late to the concert, but everything was served in a timely manner and it was well worth not rushing. Our favourite wine was the riesling. Our favourite dish was the scallops, which came with lemon beurre blanc. The buerre blanc was so delicious we asked for more bread to dip in it. The bread from the boulangerie across the street was quite good, but the gluten-free dill flax seed brittles were just delightful. The duck breast and beef filet both felt a little tough, but I think that is mainly because we are used to meat that is a lot less lean. The colour and flavour of the meats were otherwise just right. The chocolate tart was rich but not overwhelming and paired perfectly with the equally rich porto. Because of the second serving of bread we had, I had to struggle a little to finish the filet. My partner, on the other hand, asked for it to be packed up upon arrival. Unfortunately, neither we nor the server remembered to bring us her take-out box when we left. It's a shame; it would've made a great steak salad for lunch the next day. All that is to say that the 5-course tasting menu was more than enough for dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who enjoys French-styled cooking and appreciates wine. I look forward to going back with more time to try out the other dishes and get better acquainted with the wine list.
Amazing vibe, drinks and people
This heart and soul of Somewhere comes from its staff and owners!
Came to this amazing establishment on a referral from my sons co-worker! We loved it!! Riley was amazing and really took care of us!
I never leave reviews but I think this restaurant deserves it. We had a good time. Great beef tartare by the way! Thanks Sur Lie.
The cocktail drinks were creative and very tasteful. Definitely would come back here with friends! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the summer months!
Our experience at Sur-Lie was great from the moment we walked in. Service was excellent, reasonably priced food and wine menu. The food was very very good, from the appetizer to the mains to the dessert.. all excellent! I would highly recommend!
Amazing experience, food and atmosphere was on point!
At the moment we are eating next door, Bite Burger, and the music coming from S O M E W H E R E is RIDICULOUS! I guess that's a perfect place if you want to eat over-expensive food while listening to EXTREMELY LOUD club music! I really cannot believe how anyone can dine there! And it's just 8PM!!!
I am obsessed with this place. Amazing food, cocktails & service!! The atmosphere is incredible. A MUST in Ottawa.
Went in with my fiancé for dinner while on a trip to Ottawa because our hotel staff recommended it. Good choice for dinner, very romantic place.
Great food and ambiance, top quality haute cuisine
We booked this restaurant as part of our birthday celebration. There is complementary coat check, which is important during the winter months so that you don't have a bulky coat sitting at your table. The food was amazing as well. We started with oysters, which were very fresh. For mains we shared the lamb shank, duck confit, and steak & frites. All 3 were superbly done, each one very flavourful and tender. There was a side cauliflower au gratin as well which complemented everything perfectly. We were worried that we wouldn't leave the place full, but we were so stuffed we couldn't even find room for dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant looking for a wonderful dining experience in Byward market area!
