Fantastic food, amazing staff, great vibe. Love this spot. Brunch is the day
Best benny in town. Superior service. Epic coffee. I'll be back soon!
Doubt a review can explain how good the food is here. Staff is super friendly and will always take their effort to accommodate customers.
Very impressed. Erling's Variety has a very cozy atmosphere, and welcoming and knowledgeable staff. The food was elegantly presented and the flavour combination were perfect on the palate. The pace of the meal was spot on. Definitely recommend the crack pie as desert for your next visit to Erling's Variety.

Nice relaxing atmosphere with great food and wine. Their deserts are to die for! Favorite date night spot!
Small plates are amazing! I went for early Mother's Day on Friday night. The food was interesting and unbelievably delicious. Our server, Melissa, was so knowledgeable and explained everything perfectly. I will be back and definitely be spreading the word about this gem in the Glebe.
Excellent brunch.
Favourite little spot for exceptionally flavourful small plates and first rate cocktails. Bit of a splurge price wise, but perfect if you prefer to tantalize the tastebuds rather than test the elasticity of your pants.
Coming from Europe I never thought I’d get that same fun gastro experience here in ottawa, where the owner/family chats with you, knows how to pair and makes it fun! Seriously, I had an amazing time. Sit at the bar with your sig other and just soak it in and ask them for recommendations!
One of the best in the town. Awesome food. Nice atmosphere.
Wonderful experience. Food was top notch, seasonal and interesting. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. Classic cocktails were very good. I will be returning.
Delicious food at fairly high prices. Quite small portions. No need to show up hungry.
Always delicious food and drinks, in a laid back yet classy atmosphere with the friendliest staff!
Went for brunch. It was good but not great. The steak and eggs was more like brisket, extremely rough not tender at all! Fried chicken was good though
Incredible food, lovely atmosphere and great service! Really accommodating to allergies & dietary restrictions.
The beautiful: we had an amazing brunch. Very tasty very well presented. Honestly the food deserves its merit. The good: ambient and atmosphere are nice and modern. The bad: doubts regarding hygiene. Cookers do not wear any kind of net on hairs/beards. Price is not attractive. The ugly: unacceptable waiting time after order, especially when late customers ask for the same dish and are served before you. Also the feeling that they forgot your orders. Got disappointed.
Loved the food
(Translated) Restaurant style small dishes to share. We ordered the entire menu and each dish was better than the last ???? out of ten choices, the majority were vegetarian. The menu changes every week and the dishes are inspired by local products! The kind of restaurant where you eat for a long time, my favorite kind of restaurant ???? The atmosphere is nice, soft lighting inside and a nice little terrace on a quiet street to enjoy the beautiful autumn evenings! I will go back ???? J'y retournerai ????
Loved the place! The service was excellent and so was the food. They literally catered to every single dietary restriction I asked for. Definitely going back!
Always a hands down amazing experience! We went last week with my fiancé and my new siblings and they did not disappoint!! SO ACCOMMODATING WITN ALLERGIES. My fiancé is allergic to nuts, eggs, soy, shellfish and legumes and he could eat everything he wanted or they adjusted the dish so it was safe. Their ambiance is something people write novels about. Always a banger with the Pinot Noir and if you are lucky, sometimes there’s a pug named Stanley who hangs out in his house out front.
Excellent service and very tasty, creative dishes. Perfect for a date-night!
Fun vibes, service is great and good selection of wine/beer. The food was tasty, but overpriced for what you get. It's a small plate menu and good selection of food but it didn't blow me away to make up for the price. I'd recommend going once, but after that there are many other fun gems in the city to find small plate sharing style outings. In summary, I was not disappointed but I won't go out of my way to go again. Go check it out if you're never been, and see for yourself. Our favorite was the warm salad vegetables and scallops ($24 for 2 scallops), ($18 for 1/2 of a cup vegetables).
Great service, great food, great atmosphere. I'm always struck that there isn't a line up outside this place!
Great atmosphere and decor. I heard some mixed reviews on the food from our group. I can say the Smokey Gnocchi was one that I found amazing.
Appalling customer service, would not recommend to my worst enemy.
We were going to try out Wilf & Ada's but the wait was over 2 hours. We decided to walk down the street and found this place. We ordered the benedict, the omelette and regular breakfast. The omelette and benedict were decent but the regular breakfast was just okay.
Child friendly with good, wholesome cuisine.
The food had a great taste, my only complain is the plates were very small, if you are starving is not the best place to go, after ate there we went to eat burgers a different place, A little overpriced too. If you want to have a chic dinner and caused a good impression to someone is a good place, but have some cash on you.
Went here for brunch with a friend and it was delicious. The service was attentive, the prices were reasonable and the portions were good. I’m looking forward to coming back to try some of their other dishes!
Really friendly waiter, delicious food, and lovely relaxed atmosphere! Recommend in particular the scallops and Brussels sprouts.
Tasty.
Good food. Small and crowded though. Went for bunch and it was good, but not spectacular.
If you knew how the owner lived you definitely would not want to eat here.
Went for brunch today. Arrived at 12, seated at 12:45. Order taken at 1:23. We are a party of 3. There are 3 tables of 2 open (beside each other that can be pushed together). We are asked if we want bar or table and we ask for a table. The server tells us that "she doesn't want to waste seats in case more people arrive'. We insist on a table as we've been waiting forever and not seating one chair is pretty ridiculous. She seats us and says that it will take awhile to be helped because "there's a lot to do". A new group of 2 then appear at the door and are seated beside us. They immediately receive water glasses and menus. We and another group that arrived before them, receive ours about 5-10 Min after. As the server goes to grab water , she runs out as she gets to us and proceeds to say "you each get 1/3 a cup, because that's what we do here". None of could tell if it was meant as a joke. Needless to say almost comically horrible service. The food was amazing but not worth the service or wait. My friends and I will not be returning. We also all work at restaurants and could all agree we were treated poorly. We all tipped because they may have just had an off day, but honestly we were extremely dissapointed with the manner of the staff.
Beautiful space, delicious food, good service. Not cheap, but prices are fair for the high quality of the food (e.g. they cure their own meats on site--that comes with a price tag). I would certainly recommend.
Best brunch ever. Chicken waffle was simply amazing, sweet & spicy sauce covering the perfect fried chicken over waffle, never had anything like this before. The kitchen is 'real' open concept kitchen, every dish prepared right in front of you. This place gives you a feeling of being at your own kitchen, surrounded by huge family.
Amazing brunch
I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the minimal but organic decor. The service was great and the food tasted delicious, not to mention it was beautiful. Not an extremely loud dinner joint but a medium noise level and at times even quieter. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Farm to table restaurants are my weakness!
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Ottawa!
Delicious surprise! The place is a bit hidden from the main street but it’s a great discovery. The cuisine is refined and the plates are beautifully prepared. The decoration is very hipster. There is a huge shelving unit with plenty of random stuff on it, which makes it somehow cosy. On the other side, there was an exhibition of paintings for sale. The kitchen is completely open. On the one hand, it’s entertaining to watch the chefs cooking and on the other, it’s a good way to engage with them. In fact, it’s possible de give a round of beer to the staff which creates a very pleasant link between the cooks and the customers. The service was also very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it for a date.
Cool brunch spot with the best chicken and waffles ever. Service was awesome and food was amazing!
We can't stop coming back!!! Delicious food and genuine, heart-warming service.
Fourth time at EV and always amazing. This restaurant is seemingly overlooked in many of the top restaurant listings which is a real shame. This is a top 5 Ottawa restaurant.
Very good food and atmosphere
Great restaurant, off a busy street! The food is great and fresh.
Nice small plates, great quality and preparation.
I like the atmosphere but it’s wayyy too slow and the Benny egg is over cooked. First time ever had a mustard sauce on overcooked yolk.
Pros: Food has a really good taste. Cons: Really small plates. Really expensive, for the size. Really long waits : between sitting and ordering, ordering and first plate, between every subsequent plate, even for the drinks and bill Attentive staff, but slightly rude at the start. We went to buy some burgers to placate the lingering hunger after paying the bill, then we went home to cook. Not the best Friday night dinner.
Great vibes, lovely staff, amazing food.
Pricy but cosy little date spot. We liked the open-kitchen situation and the staff were relaxed and friendly. Pickly beef tartare was fabulous, fave dish for sure. Brussels were an unexpected stand-out, perfect texture and awesome with the cheese and the acidity on the sprouts. Found it odd that they didn't have unisex toilets like most of the other spots in the city. All in all, very good but a little overpriced.
Was there for a lunch meeting and the quiet atmosphere and delicious food were a great fit. Will be back for more!
Loved it, what phenomenal food! A local gem!
Fun story about this spot: I came here for my birthday dinner with my family nearly 2 years ago. My mom forgot some sort of sweater, and as we were sitting about to order our food, felt a chill. When the server arrived and took our orders, which she also was extremely accommodating for, as there is a garlic and shellfish allergy in my family, she noticed my mom seemed a bit cold. She went and grabbed her own personal cardigan she had worn to work, and returned to the table to ask if my mom would like to wear it. Needless to say, Mom was much more comfortable over the course of the evening. The Sunday brunch is hard to beat but the small plate casual-fine-dining vibe of this spot throughout the week makes it one of the go-to spots for any occasion. The team of staff are amazing, and this place really does go above and beyond time after time. I'll never stop bringing people here.
Friendly staff, tasty beverages and absolutely delicious EVERYTHING. We are in LOVE.
Small tapas style plating with an intimate twist of flavours. Beet salad is a great start to a culinary experience. The space is uniquely fully open allowing full viewing exposure to the kitchen. Carefully curated artwork created by local artists are on display on the walls and help create a cozy and intimate venue.
A delightful eatery in the Glebe. The best pancakes ever! Light, fluffy and delish. Enjoy the people and the ambiance.
Went here for dinner with friends. The service was good, the food tasted good. My problem was small plates, big prices. After spending over $150 for my husband and I, we had to make food for ourselves when we got home as we were still very hungry. Even the drinks were very small. They suggest sharing, but I don't know how they expect you to share such small quantities of food between anymore than two people.
wonderful food, service and ambiance
Would have liked to rate higher, but the menu is way overpriced. Other reviewers are correct when the state wine and menu prices aren't reflective of what they should be. Also as noted from other reviewers they are wanting a 20-24% tip wow :( I'll say food quality was generally high with fresh ingredients. The decor and vibe inside was nice, cool artwork hanging on the walls. The bad part: we were a table of 6 and told that we should only have 1 person order for the whole table. It was noted by all in our group it was rather awkward to be told what do do. Next, the serving sizes versus price. The tuna dish was mainly cucumber and smaller serving than anything ever given to me at a sushi restaurant, $18 for cucumber slices is insulting. Beef tartar was okay, didn't blow us away. The perogies were good... seemed baked versus fried, but they were so small, once again price was high for these tiny guys. Gnocchi was great. The best dish of the night by far was the Pork. This was because it was super flavor, filling and delicious. Had Erling's served all dishes this well put together with that portion size I wouldn't be rating them mediocre. Honestly, this dish is the only reason why I'm giving 3 stars. Final comment, back to prices, there was not much variety for reasonable priced wines.... $80, 100, 120 or $240 for a bottle of red wine. I guess that makes sense if it's $16 for wine by the glass. BUT that glass of wine should have been $12-$14. Put a bottle of wine on the menu for $40 and $60. I don't see the point of over inflating wines, get a broader selection.
Terrific food. Wonderful service. Definitely worth adopting as a regular dining experience.
Hidden gem. Everytime has been great. Love the vibe and food!
My husband and I went for dinner and it had such a charming ambience to begin with, The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The food variety was fun and enjoyable. We ordered different dishes from the menu and even went back on a Sunday for their brunch which delicious as well! It’s a must to try whenever you’re in the glebe!
Delicious inventive dishes, wonderful service always.
Very frienly. Good food. Good service.
Great atmosphere, wonderful and friendly staff, I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was good, but I don't think I would order again. Nothing special about it, small chicken bits with waffle fries on a chive waffle( would have like there to be more waffle and maybe crispier). I would definitely come back to try something new!
Great atmosphere. Brunch food was very tasty (I had chicken and waffles). Front of house staff are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend that you give this place a try.
Hands down best eggs benedict in Ottawa! Service was great. We don't bring out our two year old very often with us, but went here for our anniversary with him during brunch service. The woman was incredibly understanding and lovely! My husband is a stickler for ketchup and they made it from scratch for him, Yup. From scratch. Can't wait for our next night out to go just the hubby and I to try out their dinner service. Highly recommended!
My Favourite spot in Ottawa. Fabulous Food, Great Atmosphere and wonderful staff…
Went again for NYE and their new menu launch. As expected, was very pleased. Well-balanced, rich, delicious food. Great staff, location. Open kitchen makes for good dinner and a show. One of the rare gems in Ottawa. Would recommend to anyone. Fav dishes: Mushroom, Brussel Sprouts
Great food and price was a little bit on the high side. However the environment was very cozy and neat. We ordered the drumstick and later the chef came out, told us we were the first people ordered this new dish and asked for feedback. Definitely good dish, the chicken was very crispy on the surface and juicy inside.
Creative and unique food experience. Friendly and attentive staff. We will certainly come back to try some more!
Great place food was very delicious had there soup and sandwich of the day I will definitely go back to try other stuff ????????????
Brunch was so good and so huge ???? absolutely amazing. Coffee was delicious, the staff was very friendly and I love the open kitchen. Quite fairly price for the area, I would gladly come again
Quick service. Accommodated me with a vegan meal. Warm People.
Terrific food and service
Amazing place. Fresh products, fair price. The setup is also in good taste. The service and the staff is flawless. Must try!
We chose to celebrate our 5th anniversary here and it couldn't have been better. The waitress was very friendly and calm (did not seem rushed nor rushing us). The food was delicate - truly, no better word - and we wanted to save every bite. Ambiance was quaint, cozy, and otherwise lovely. Thank you!
Their brunch is the appropriate cost the 90's are over
We were greeted by a warm atmosphere and a big smile. Loved the fresh cut fries. Mushroom soup had too much pepper and rehydrated chewy mushrooms. Yuk! Gnocchi was just weird, they were brown and the sauce was awful. I would not eat here again.
Thank you for opening this kind of place in the glebe.. Go now.. Run.. I'm coming back
Ordered Food from the weekly delivery menu. The curry dish was fresh and vibrant, definitely enjoyed it.
Loved the atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, food was delicious - trout was wonderful. Will be going back - highly recommend
Cuisine to die for - had the gnoccis, the beef shank, and the broccoli dishes - all were highly creative and delicious. Ambience is fabulous, wine perfect, service excellent. Best restaurant in the Glebe.
Went with my sister and brother-in-law for a late dinner. It wasn't cheap but every dish was delicious. They have Ontario smelts which were so good I ordered a second round, which I barely shared. Also loved the art in the washrooms. Very cool wall finish. Our party of five shared all five of the vegetable small plates and each ordered a main, which included steak tartare, gnocchi, spaghetti, smoked pork loin, and scallops. Everyone was very pleased with the choices made. The service matched the excellence of the food and ambiance was perfect for us.
The meal was superb, but the staff made the meal. Everyone was so friendly, taking the time to chat and make sure were taken care of. Only disappointment was that we were only 2 people and couldn't taste all of the menu. Will be back with a larger group to eat all the things!!!
Experience was hit or miss. But when it was bad it was very very bad. We started witheir fries which we always love. Great aioli and housemade ketchup. Then garlic noodles with anchovies. That was pretty bad. We sent it back and they tasted it and said thats what was intended. I like anchovies but not theirs. They replaced it with a different noodle dish which was good. We also got gnocci in some kind of cheese, maybe gorgonzola, and it was excellent. Mushroom dish was fresh and meaty. My steak tartar was decent but lacked flavor. Took it home and cooked it with salt and pepper and chilies. Finally the lamb. My wife got it and didnt really like it. I tried it and it had an odd bitter taste and off odor. Nothing like lamb i have ever tasted anywhere. I wish i had sent it back but i felt bad about the anchovy noodles. By the time i decided that it truly was bad my wife and daughter had eaten more than half so i decided to let it drop. Need to be more consistent at this place. Love the interior though.
The food is amazing - local, fresh, and delicious! Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is very cozy. Sharing the small plates for dinner is fun and a great way to try lots of their amazing dishes. Great spot for a date night!
We’ve been here a few times and each time it offers incredibly attentive service, rave-worthy food and excellent drinks. It’s stylish and unique. Definitely an Ottawa gem!
Fantastic place. Classy but casual atmosphere. Delicious charcuterie and modern menu. Great cocktails and wine selection.
Yummy food and awesome ppl
Nicely decorated restaurant, industrial yet cozy. Staff was lovely to talk to, will be coming back for sure! Regarding drinks, dont feel stuck by the menu! If they can they will make you a drink! Asked for a sangria (not on menu) and it was delicious :)
Nice friendly place with excellent food.
We went for a Sunday brunch and both our dishes were great. Fried chicken was crispy yet moist and the poached eggs were very well executed. Hollandaise was tasty as well. Latte was just ordinary though. Great service!
Amazing brunch, dinner , wine list and fantastic staff!
Great atmosphere and amazing staffs! I’ve been here for several brunch and dinners and it is always a pleasure visiting this restaurant. The food/menu selection is small but that means that they put more focus on what they make during that day. Highly recommended and love to visit soon again!
Very tasty eclectic food, excellent staff!
Food was phenomenal very tasty and creative dishes but don't be in any sort of hurry. Start to finish was just over three hours- was great to take time to enjoy food but this just felt drawn out.
I've been here a couple of times now I will keep coming back. The beer and wine selections are great and the food is pretty inspired. You can tell there is a lot of passion that goes in to what they cook. For price and quality, it stands out among the best in the city.
Definitely not impressed. The food was nice but extremely overpriced for what you get. Definitely there are more places where you can get the same quality of food for a reasonable price. The service for such a high price was very average and also did not reflect the price we paid for. Very disappointed.
Perfect dish sizes. Great service and of course very enjoyable.
I admit that I am slightly biased- some of my favourite people work here. Knowledgable, friendly service. Chefs that are happily accommodating to special dietary restrictions. A fantastic wine menu. Delicious food and amazing atmosphere. Who could ask for a better night out?
Awesome ambiance, great service, fantastic food.
Overpriced for very small portions.
The food was amazing, as well as fast. Service was great too!
Officially my favorite brunch spot in all of Ottawa. The food is amazing, fresh, and really really tasty. And the portion are very filling. The service is also some of the best I've experienced in Ottawa. Go for the smoked cheddar/chive waffle Benny's, the hollandaise sauce will blow you away. This place is a must go, if you are in the Ottawa area.
Nice location. Price were fine. Few choices for the brunch. The breakfest Poutine was a bit disappointing. No cheese curds and undercooked potatoes.
Cute restaurant, very new and modern looking. They have some interesting art on display. It seemed quite busy when I had dinner there. I had a few small plates- a one piece of cheese which for sure is less than AN OUNCE was around $7 and maybe 2 tiny bites. Presentation was very nice though. My guest had a full meal and their part of the bill was around $125. Def not a cheap place to eat. Also if "hipsters" and guys with buns and ponytails annoy you then maybe do not go here too often.
Great atmosphere, friendly service and the food is very tasty. The cheese plate was one of the best I had in a long time. The portions are perfect to share and the price is right for the quality. I will definitely come back!
Went today for our Holiday Party. Staff were amazing. Wine list and food is amazing. Great cozy atmosphere with open concept kitchen and bar. Highly recommend!
We had a Christmas Party with 38 people at the restaurant and everything was FANTASTIC. The service is amazing and LIAM is one of the best waiters I ever encountered: personable, friendly and funny ! If you want to try something non-standard and different, give this resturant a try. All 4 courses were great and the lay-out of the 30+ different types of the hors d'oeuvres was beyond great. Michelin should visit this restaurant !
Great service and atmosphere! Beautifully presented and prepared food. Very friendly and helpful staff, including to people with babies and small children. They have two high chairs and the server brought out small plates with purées for babies for lunch.
Disappointing. I have never been handed a credit/debit machine where the staff has had the audacity to program the suggested tip percentage to be 20, 22 and 24%. Service better be exceptional. It was not. The food is overpriced. Wines are ridiculously overpriced. The kitchen was painfully slow.
We went here for lunch after visiting the butterflies exhibit at the museum of nature. Great food. Classics with twist done well. Very attentive service.
You can enjoy Nice Brunch here!!
Went for the first time last night, not sure why it took us so long to try it. Incredible cheese plate only outdone by second-to-none service. Highly recommend.
If I can give 10 stars, I would. I came with a friend a week ago and we ordered the brussels sprouts, meatballs, gnocchi and a lemon curd dessert. The food was outstanding and the service was great! What deserves the ten stars was that I unknowingly parked illegally on the street and the restaurant made an announcement that a car was getting towed and named my car colour and model. I ran outside just in time and the tow truck had hooked my wheel already. I ended up paying a fine but it would have been so much more had my car been towed. After settling the fines with the bylaw officer and tow truck company, I went back to the restaurant to settle my bill and Liam, our waiter and owner, said my bill was on them. I was so shocked and grateful for his generosity and I have never experienced this kind of service anywhere else. I have told everyone this story and have recommended Erling’s Variety as a place to go for a fantastic meal not only in the Glebe area, but in all of Ottawa. This restaurant not only has amazing quality food, but they care about their patrons. Thanks, Liam! I will definitely come back!!
My boyfriend and I came for a celebratory dinner and loved our experience from beginning to end! Food and service were both bar none!
I arrived with a group of 12 on a blustry winter evening early 2017. Although we were suppose to be 18 the staff maintained their composure and served us with more grace than I might have. We had ordered a cross section of their menu and were pleasantly surprised with the variety. Hopefully we made up for the shortage in customers by staying late and enjoying a variety of wine bottles. A couple of my group have returned for an equally enjoyable Sunday brunch!
Truly fantastic food in an otherwise unassuming but comfy and nice venue. Other places deserve five-star reviews because there's nothing wrong with them - this place actually provides five-star fare to begin with. Add the friendly and efficient staff, and it's a shame there isn't a sixth button on the rating scale.
We booked a table for 20 people for our wedding dinner. Right from the start, the owners worked with us to find a time and menu that worked best, including menu adjustments for guest with dietary restrictions. The serving staff were very attentive, the food was AMAZING, and all of our out-of-town guests were so impressed. The owner even bought fresh flowers for the table and set up a cute seating arrangement. Highly recommend.
Great service. Great food. The Pork, Salad, and Vanilla cake are definitely a must try.
I went for the brunch. At first the menu may seem limited but it was one of the tastiest food I had for some time.
My husband, 2yr old son and I were in the Glebe today looking for a nice food experience. I called another restaurant in the area first, asking if they could accomodate a young child, and got the run around, so I decided to see if Erling's Variety could accomodate us. On the phone, the lady was very accomodating and seemed happy we were coming in with our young child. There was no menu on their website at the time, but the place had been recommended to us, and they had french fries (...for our toddler)! Upon arrival, the staff was really friendly and our server was very prompt and amicable. They didn't have a high chair (we didn't expect one, so we came prepared), but they had a sippy cup, which was appreciated! The dining experience was well explain to us, and were very happy with everything! The wine list was nice and diverse, the food, creative and delicious, and the staff efficient and very friendly! We are so happy we went (even with our two yr old)! We will definitely be back!
Great wine selection, tasty and varied menu. Ambiance is cozy, and the staff is warm. Excellent neighbourhood restaurant I am happy to return to frequently. Great patio out front.
We arrived at 730 and left at 11 at our table of four. We started off with unique cocktails made to order according to our tastes. I wanted something with gin and savoury and I received a gin and soda garnished with rosemary and pickled blueberries - the infusion of the salty blueberries and the rosemary made for a unique and perfect experience. My dinner companions had equally unique drinks. We ordered from their wine list, private supplied wines, which was perfect. and we ordered 8 dishes which arrived sequentially while we shared each in turn. The amounts made for a tapa style serving. The spaghetti carbonara (their take on it), the roasted Brussels sprouts, sablefish soup, and braised short rib were all excellent although the rest were also very good.
Three of us came for lunch a few days after Christmas and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food, the atmosphere and the friendly, very accommodating service. We were started with cups of a steaming lemon ginger tonic, great to ward off colds! Two of us ordered the scallops, another the gnocchi. Both were to-die-for -- the scallops were huge and beautifully presented, the gnocchi was rich and intensely flavourful. We began with the salad; we asked to share it and were brought three plates, each with a small but satisfying serving. I asked about white wine with the scallops and was given a taste of one on their menu -- delicious! We all shared the Crack pie for dessert and they were right! It was the best ever, with a generous dollop of whipped cream on top. The place was friendly, nearly empty and happily quiet. I hadn't been for months and months, but will put it on my regular list of local joints again as I don't want it to go anywhere!
Exquisite.
Great food and great cozy atmosphere!
It was absolutely incredible. Liam's service, understanding, and knowledge blew me away. It was such a fresh experience. I recommend it to anyone wanting a true food experience. Compliments to them and the kitchen crew!
Just loved dinner last night. The ambiance was terrific and the food great. We had a very wonderful Ceasar salad and all the other dishes were greeted with oohs and ahs
Great food, great service, friendliest staff, superb ambiance. We'll go back for sure!
This upscale eatery is tucked just off the main strip in the Glebe, with a lovely bisto atmosphere. The olives were out of this world good. I appreciate the small well chosen menu, the wine and the sharable plate format.
Great food, great service. One of the best If not the best restaurant in the Glebe.
Came on a Saturday night with a big group of 20 or so friends to celebrate my birthday, and Erling's was the perfect choice. The food was wonderful - the highlight for me was the perfectly-cooked scallops on pork belly with crispy kale (probably could have used one or two more on the plate though!). We also ordered a few charcuterie plates to share, and the smoked duck in particular was delicious. The whole vibe of the place was ideal for a birthday, very laid back, and the staff was VERY accommodating as we shuffled tables around, wandered from table to table, and generally had a blast but definitely made their lives more complicated! A DJ came on at 11:30, and it was bring your own vinyl night, so we finished the night off boogying to Stevie Wonder and Rick James (b*tch!). We'll definitely be back!
Best brunch I've had in town in a long time. Mushrooms on toast and Brussels sprouts were outstanding. Jen and Steph were incredibly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. Atmosphere was delightful. Will visit again soon!
I left the place very disappointed. The price was really high for what you get. Service wasn't great either. Food is good but there are far better places in Ottawa for a similar price and even higher quality.
Always a fantastic experience!
