My friend and I came down from Toronto last weekend, and had such an amazing time here. The estate is gorgeous, the wines are delicious, and our tour guide Sylvie was so much fun! She was the perfect balance of hilarious and informative, and we really appreciated her warmth in welcoming us. Due to the torrential downpour, our picnic lunch (delicious!! I strongly recommend you get it) was moved inside with grace and care. Looking forward to coming back here again!

We visited this winery on a cold February day & really enjoyed our experience. The tasting room was cozy; the staff were very personable, knowledgeable & attentive. There were little 'add ons' like pretzels, water & even a bonus tasting of a lovely Reisling. We spent an hour visiting & would definitely consider returning to experience the winery again in the warmer weather on the patio.

Incredibly professional and communicative team for hosting events! We hosted our wedding at CDC and our guests were blown away with how safe we felt under their covid protocols, while still creating spaces outdoors to have fun and connect with family and friends. Svetlana is a very organized and detail-oriented event planner, so you’re in good hands. The catering partnership with Vintage Hotels was also handled very smoothly and the food was way better than typical wedding food quality! Great wine, gorgeous venue, worth the cost for sure.

I visited the winery today Saturday December 29 2018, with my spouse Peter, we met our tour guide Galina. By far one of the best guides I have had in the region. Not only was she informative but her experience and her personality. Other wineries they probably know their stuff but I look for the balance between knowing something and the way you make someone feel. Galina was that, magical. We just moved to the area (St. David's) so I feel the Chateau is our neighbor (lol). It felt like a family when I visited there today. Thank you for a very good day. Regards, Nadia and Peter. Visited Chateau des Charme at the beginning of October 2018 as part of an Eastern Canada trip from the United Kingdom.. We were met and greeted by Talina. She took us around the vineyard production areas (it was harvest so very busy) but as a small group of 4 - we accessed lots of additional areas. Talina was very knowledgeable of wine in general and gave an amazing in-depth tour. We were then given a 5 Chateau des Charmes wine tasting. We had really interesting time at the vineyard and wineshop and must thank Talina for her excellent care and attention. This tour was a holiday highlight! Thank you.

Chateau des Charmes has a great winery tour and tasting. You are able to see the pressing room, cellar, bottling room and a tasting area outside. The winery is located on the estate so you can see the actual grapes that will become the wines. They offer a red, white and rose wine for tasting if you want to taste their ice wine there is an extra charge for that. - Richard Trus

We visited the tasting room on a Thursday morning. We tried the Aligoté, the Gewürztraminer, the Riesling and the Rosé. My husband likes off-dry wines and these were lovely. They have a nice big tented area outside they looks like it would be great for weddings and other events. The entry way is very impressive - very chateau-like.

I was late grabbing a gift for my best friend’s birthday, so figured ‘can’t go wrong with wine’. I found an awesome 6 bottle package on Chateau des Charmes’ online store. It was a perfect celebration package - something that I wasn’t able to find on the other wineries’ sites. The package was on sale and also came with jam and recipes. Amazing value for such great wine and I’m so glad I found it! I ordered it yesterday and was very surprised to get a thank you from my friend TODAY! It ended up arriving on her birthday after all - and she LOVES it! I also received a lovely email from Arina yesterday immediately after I had placed the order letting me know it was shipped. This winery has always been one of my fav’s. I’ve visited for tastings and also attended a wedding here a few years ago. The winery is beautiful and the wine is amazing (especially the sparking ROSÉ!)... Thank you CDC and Happy New Year!

Decent wines. Visited with a group of friends. We did a few tastings and each bought bottles. We were charged for samples even though we were purchasing several bottles, so it was an expensive visit. I'd recommend you head elsewhere if you are not sure what you want to buy.

I came here yesterday with my partner for a premium wine tasting with cheese and chocolates. Our server was a former teacher who taught for 30 years prior to working at the winery. He was so kind and knowledgeable about the wines. We had such a positive experience at the Chateau des Charmes. Highly recommend visiting this space.

Chateau des Charmes is one of the oldest wineries in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We took a private tour and tasting, which made all the difference. Galena, our guide not only had extensive knowledge of the winery, but also had a particular expertise in the history of the wines of Europe and Canada. We were not rushed and given time to fully appreciate a variety of reds, whites, and icewines with pairings of artisanal breads and cheeses of Quebec. A great way to spend an afternoon in January, or any time of the year.

Great tasting wines! A nice place to enjoy wine tasting and they have a wide selection to enjoy. Walk in the vineyard to see the different types of grapes and breathe some fresh air. You can also purchase some food to go along your wine. The staff is great and can help with your wine recommendations if it's your first time.

This place lives up to its name with charming atmosphere, people and wine. Mike gave us a very informative True To Our Roots Winery Tour, during which he shared the history of the place, specifics of winemaking in the Niagara region and drew parallels with beer making, which I found especially informative and funny. We also learned that this place is the only winery in Canada that makes Aligoté and has its own unique vitis vinifera wine Gamay Noir “Droit” that no other winery in the world can produce (and they both are lovely!). We stayed for more tasting and chatted with Galina, who told us more about the intricacies of winemaking in different regions of the world and helped us take first steps to becoming wine connoisseurs ourselves. Needless to say, we haven’t left empty handed and planning to come back as soon as we can for more charms of this gorgeous place and its people!

While definitely not the closest to the main drag of NOTL, it is my favorite of the wineries. If you get a chance, and you like dry reds, try their Gamay Noir Droit. It's a vintage unique to their winery since the grape they make it from is patented. It's honestly my favorite table wine. Also... it looks like castle. What more do you want? ;)

She turned us away immediately at the door. For accommodating tours and serving a customer base I wonder how much business this lady has turned away! We did the wine tasting for $40 per person and chose the chocolates. This was our first time doing wine tasting and we had a really good time. Our server Galina was very warm and friendly and explained the entire process. The venue is very spacious and beautiful! We had a selection of rosés, white wine, red wine, and ice wine. The food pairings also went really well with the wine. There was also live music playing when we went (the cellist played the Game of Thrones theme song!) This is our first winery experience. Chateau de charmes is very beautiful. Our guide Galina is very knowledgeable and professional. We were the only couple so it felt like a private tour. She explained the weather and how is the planting of grapes to be as close to France, process of collecting grapes, introduction of the oak barrel, the process of wine making and showing the bottling process. We tasted both icewine of Vidal and Cabernet, they were awesome and not to be missed!

Arrived a little late in the day as the traffic up to Niagra on a Saturday was really bad. We had missed the last tour at 3pm but the employees at the front door were helpful and let us know we could still do wine tastings. We had to use the tasting room upstairs as they were setting up for a wedding in the rooms on the main floor. The gentlemen that served us who spoke English and German was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer every question in detail that we asked him. And he was very friendly and made it overall a very enjoyable experience, as we have found some wine tastings at other vineyards to be a little intimidating since we didn't know much about wine. Grounds and property were gorgeous, however, of all the wineries we've visited, this one was the least friendly and most boring. The staff wasn't very enthusiastic and did not explain the wines or winery much. There was no music which made the ambiance a bit boring. Lastly the wines were good (7/10).

Excellent service, fantastic grounds built in a traditional French manor style. Family owned and run, over 40 years from the beginning of the wine industry in Niagara. Get a flight of wine and their cheese pairing and sit on their back patio in the afternoon; one of the best winery experiences we had over 3 days. Recommend the Blanc de blanc sparkling wine.

Disappointed how petty they are... purchased two bottles for $55 but because we did not buy their "flight" sample, instead got $8 of individual samples, they did not wave the $10 tasting fee or apply the $5 credit. Enjoyed their wine and the location but will never go back if this is how they operate. There are many more smaller wineries in the area that have just as good of wine with much better customer appreciation

Both the wine and the Tour were very good. Learned a lot and would go back to do another tasting and recommend it to others. The prices were also very reasonable. Lots of space to be able to keep distance during the tour and not too many. The tour guide was also very nice. All of the other staff there were very friendly and welcoming as well. There was even a chance to be able to see the founder.

Did a wine tour/tasting here, I've done a few before but the approach that our guide (Paul) took was the most useful for a novice that I've seen - he takes you to the basement production facilities to see the equipment and processes for different types of wines, shows you wines in different stages of production (like the sparkling wines being tilted over the course of many months to collect the dead yeast in the neck of the bottle to remove), then takes you up for the tasting where he explains the effects of the different processes that you saw in the production facilities so that you can taste them. It was much more informative than what I've been on before, highly recommend this one to start with before you do any others if you're a beginner because it gives you some basic knowledge to grow from

Had an entire day in the Niagara area touring beautiful wineries with a group of friends. The lady that greeted us at the entrance here was the rudest woman we have ever came across. She turned us away immediately at the door. For accommodating tours and serving a customer base I wonder how much business this lady has turned away! If you are planning a day I recommend anywhere else but here so it doesn't turn into a disappointment!

An absolutely beautiful estate with fantastic service and wines. Maria made us feel like family and let us enjoy our tasting privately on the grounds. This was our second stop of the day and we all agreed we should have spent more time at this winery. I would highly recommend visiting if you're in the area! The estate is gorgeous and service is unbeatable :)
