It’s Valentine’s Day and we had plans for some time to have Keg take- out. I called and they said that they are not taking orders. Very disppointed as nothing was advertised as such. This is what we had planned for, for awhile. The man on the telephone only said, “Sorry, we can’t take any orders until 9 tonight”. Not impressed.

Personally I love the keg restaurants in Vancouver, the food is cooked to perfection and delicious. I always get the same thing 8oz teriyaki steak classic meal which comes with a salad, mushrooms, veggies, and a side choice (always garlic mash). The steak is always cooked the same and comes out tender and juicy. Today we chose to add garlic cheese toast as an apply and I had my usual creme Brûlée for dessert while the boyfriend had cheesecake. Garlic cheese toast: this was fantastic! Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle with wonderful tasting cheese. Loved it! Caesar salad: also delicious like always we love the croutons. Steak: slightly chewy/tough and not as juicy/flavourful as usual. Mushrooms/veggies: these were quite "rubbery" but did have a nice flavour. Garlic mash: these are usually one of my favourites and tonight I was very sad to find the quality just not there. They had large lumps, very little garlic flavour, and looked like they had sat out for quite some time (had a skin on them that didn't look appetizing) I didn't even eat half. Creme brûlée: this would be my other favourite item but again the quality was not the same. The "caramelized sugar crust" was sloppily sprinkled on top even along the rim of the dish and not completely caramelized. As I was eating there was sugar grit in the creme... Very disappointing. Strawberry cheesecake: this came to us warm for the first time but otherwise was tasty. Our waitress April was very attentive and on top of our drink situation. I hope she is able to see that we appreciate that. The keg is usually our go to "fancy night" dinner spot but I can say this will likely not be the case here in GP. Tonight we were celebrating a few special occasions and found the food to be sub-par for the $105 we spent. Typically we go for birthdays, anniversaries, or major life events and have no problem splurging for the special night with an apply, main, and dessert. We had high anticipations and had been looking forward to our "expensive dinner nigh" and are now disappointed.

Food was ok and service was poor. I came in later than the rest of the people at my table. Wasn't offered a menu. Asked for iced tea, she brought me a Coke. Just generally poor service. Not the place to go for French Onion Soup either. If you are going to the Keg, probably should order steak, since that is their specialty. I can think of better places to get a steak in town though.

First and foremost, this review reflects the "new" Keg, post renovations. The original Keg was 5 star. After the new renovations, we booked a table. I dont think the renos we all that special in terms of interior design. It is incredibly dark, and the not very private on the west side of the restaraunt, we were seated in the crying baby section. The service was mediocre, and when we had a problem with our meal (two overcooked prime rib portions), the server didnt return until dinner was over. Fortunately the manager comped the meals. Im also sure pricing increased, even though the excellent staff all quit during the shut down. Very dissapointing.

Two separate tables to follow the rules, and you switched us around no issue to a spot that could accommodate. Great work by the manager in there. Very professional. Our server handled the changes like a champ and our service was amazing all night long. Thanks for making it as easy as possible! We appreciate you!

It was OK. Steak wasn't done medium rare as ordered, and for a newly renovated location, it wasn't all that unique. All in all, a little overpriced for what you get.

Huge shout out to the Host(ess) staff for acknowledging our atrocious experience across the street at Jax Grill & Lounge and seating us in a timely fashion with drinks and bread. Despite being completely swamped with customers they did not make us feel second-class and tended to our requests. We enjoyed tuna tartare before our epic steaks arrived. (See picture)

the steaks always good at the Keg :) They were at peak busy hour & missed the Oscar (shrimp,scallops w bearnaise) on one of the steaks, and corrected their error immediately with a side order at no charge, despite our willingness to pay for it. The waiter added an extra full loaf of bread for one of our party when they asked for a to go box for the complimentary fresh bread :) We will go again when we want a great steak with superb service :)

Saturday Jan 11th 2020. My parents and I went to the keg to celebrate my dad's birthday. Our waitress Jennifer was lovely! There was a minor issue with some of our side orders, that didn't come out as warm as we preferred (not stone cold for the record) and Jennifer was quick to access the situation, she took my plate back and got the manager Amanda... Amanda was genuinely concerned, apologized, and even went a step further to ensure my parents and I left satisfied. I got an entire new plate which I was not expecting and FAST! I would have been even happy just having my plate warmed up in the microwave my dinning experience sky rocked in the best ways possible. To add the cherry to the Sunday our wine was taken off our bill which again we were not expecting! Last night in general, by far was by far the BEST customer experience we've ever had and we WILL BE BACK! Thank you again Jennifer and Amanda!!!!! <3 <3 <3

The food and service is mediocre. The steak didn't taste great, was just a regular taste that I can achieve at home. Loaded baked potato was ok, nothing special. The food is overpriced And we noticed servers are quite rude and pushy. Woudn't recommend that place. Parking is problematic. And it was just a week day's night.

I always enjoy the Keg, the atmosphere and great service, the appies and salads were great but the main course / prime rib was mostly fat, although the dogs enjoyed the leftovers a 45$ steak dinner x 3 is pretty pricy to feed most of it to the dogs, I've had good luck with the Keg prim rib but this time 2/3 of all 3 steaks were super fatty, luck of the draw I guess. Our waitress was excellent I should add. Service, salads & appies 100% main course 50% :-(

And they we're charging us for the replacement drink that was spilled. Definitely will not go back. Might I mention we were out for my son's birthday and our bill was over $600. Spent 40 mins there tonight and only got as far as a glass of water and she spills water all over, then forgot the specials and then no server to take our order. Had a family group function of just under 30 people in their banquet room. Our servers (Ethan and Matthew I believe) were very attentive and went above and beyond to be friendly. A few issues with the food orders which is not entirely unexpected with a group that size. Overall great experience and a really nice space for a larger group function

I've been to several Kegs and this has been my worst experience. I asked for extra crostinis with my brie plate, which show up the same time as my steak - or about 3 minutes after my appetizer arrives, minus it's utensils. They did offer to put it back under the warmer, but really, that would have just dried out and overcooked my steak. Just performs under the expected Keg service.

The only reason I gave them three stars is because my kid got very sick in the bathroom and staff was incredibly understanding about it. The food could have been better, but the staff was nice about the whole situation.

We generally go here when we end up in GP. Nothing fancy, but a good ‘ole Keg. Reliable and dependable. I love sitting in the basement (a little more intimate and private). Good is absolutely fine considering it’s a franchise and there os somehow not a lot of options in GP. Would also recommend @Calabria Delia and Bistro if you may want a gorgeous lunch or Europa Meat Shoppe if you need ingredients to make your own.

I've been to the keg countless times, but for some reason this location seems to lack care in regards to serving its customers quality food. We ordered the prime rib medium rare came out of the kitchen to separate times over cooked. No steak knifes to eat are food. Was not a an experience I'd recommend for anyone!

The Keg at Grande Prairie is a fantastic spot. They have a nice restaurant upstairs, and if you're looking for something a little more relaxing, try the bar downstairs. Comfortable with no LED lights, you'll find it the perfect place to unwind after a long day, or on a date. Washrooms are very clean, and parking is free. The bar servers will offer you a full menu if you choose to sit at the bar. Service is excellent, and if there are any issues with your meal, the keg team will be happy to rectify. My steak was a little over done, and they were very fast to get me another. Enjoy a glass of J Lohr Cabernet. The iceberg wedge salad is something else. The prime rib... well, you cant go wrong. Ask for the special cheese butter with your bread! See you next time Keg. Thanks Zain!

We recently visited the renovated keg. The food and service was great as always! However, we had reserved a table for four ahead of time and were seated at one that should've sat two at most. It made the entire dining experience uncomfortable. We had to shuffle glasses each time we got a new drink. I also had to put my cutlery on my lap just to eat the appetizer. When my husband and I spend 200 dollars on a meal, we really should be comfortable throughout the experience.

We got our entrees, and my husband’s steak was way over cooked when he asked for medium rare, but he’s not ever one to say anything . This evening however he did .... and the kitchen manager came right over apologized sincerely, took his plate back and then insisted he take my plate and get mine remade as well so we could eat together . Well let’s start off by saying I eat at the keg across Canada a LOT. Wherever I’m traveling and working it’s a goto for me. After a long day of loud equipment this basement bar is just what i need after work. Don’t want to be disappointed with your meal after a 13 hr day. The keg usually doesn’t disappoint. The GP location is just a little bit better than the others. The food is always top notch at the keg. But here they go a little above and beyond. It’s all because of that staff. Let’s start with Zane. The bartender. Kids got a personality. Very professional and this company should be very very happy to have this gentleman on staff. The last 2 times I was a guest here I had Zane the bar manager come and ask how things were after dinner. I like getting spoiled and this place has that down to a tee. Stop in. Meet the staff. They’re good folks here. Real people. And VERY VERY good at what they do. When I’m in town I average 4 nights a week here. Go team GP ! Wow ! Blown away nightly. Good job staff.

We have always suggested the Keg as the best place in town to eat . Well after my daughters birthday supper I can honestly say we wont be returning and we wont say "go to the Keg" . There were 4 of us , so not a big table . The server brought the drinks took our order, asked if we would like the warm bread , we said yes please . Our appetizers came, well 2 came , the other 2 we were told they had forgotten but would be taken off the bill. The bread came just before the appetizers were finished . I have to say this I always order the escargot, well last nights tasted burnt , overcooked and rubbery. The 3 stuffed mushroom caps were fine . When our steaks arrived it looked fantastic, but our eyes were decieved by the taste . Let's start with no spices were put on the steaks at all . Nothing ! My daughter ordered the filet mignon, blue rare . Well it was fridge cold . Not even warm . My new York was cooked to the rare I had ordered but was extremely tough and no taste at all 0 seasonings. My husband and son in laws steaks were all cooked to how they were ordered but also were tough and no seasonings .There were at the least 12 servers all running around . Bumping into each other . Our bill was 288.00 for probably the worst meal we have ever had . All I can say is we wont be returning and will not suggest the Keg again !!

Great food and reasonable service. My biggest pet peeve with this place and most places in GP are not the restaurants but the patrons at these restaurants. My wife and I tend to dine out once or twice a month. Every time we go out we dress up. shirt tie/dress/ casual wear. My complaint is how these places allow the general public in wearing greasy ball caps, and tap out shirts or even sweat pants. Please I know money is money, and these establishments cant bare turning down a customer. But come on! PLEASE Enforce a proper dress code. Lets class up these places. Start sending these grease balls across the street to the dirty bird (KFC).

I recently visited the Keg for my mom's birthday dinner. Being newly vegan and going to a steakhouse, I made sure to look at their menu ahead of time and see if they had any options for me! To my surprise I found a steak made of cauliflower and I was far too excited. Once we arrived I go to order and the waitress informs me that they are out of the only thing I can eat. But luckily they have such an amazing team in the kitchen they were able to whip up something else for me to enjoy. The staff is very well informed, friendly, and consistent with checking in on their customers. My food and drinks were delicious and the new layout provided a quiet and more intimate setting to enjoy the company of others. I highly recommend eating here, but if you want the cauliflower steak telling them with your reservation ahead of time may be best :).

I booked a reservation on Open Table a month ago indicating it was my 5 year anniversary for me and my fiance. We wanted a private booth upstairs in the dinning area. When we showed up, we were starting to be escorted towards the down stairs bar. I stopped the young lady and asked her to review my reservation and to seat us appropriately. She stated that she couldn't see my notes and only the fact that I had booked a table. What's the point of having an online reservation site if you cant read the requests? We were given a set of dirty utensils and over charged $65.00 for 5 items that we did not order. What made our experience good was that our waitress Taylor. S was professional and very friendly. She made sure all issues such as re-seating us to a booth and giving us an anniversary dessert along with fixing our bill were taken care of. The food was also very delicious. My only suggestion is to fix the open table online reservation so employees can review the requests. And to provide clean utensils.

Always consistent, always good. Great service. They know how to prepare steak. Unfortunately I had an tough old bull or something because my steak was pretty chewy. Hardly the fault of the Keg Steakhouse so I'm not complaining. When asked I told the hostess that the steak wasn't perfect. She tried to take it off the bill which blew my mind but that wasn't my intent. Just wanted to be truthful. The service has always been fantastic and it's my go to steak place in GP. Headed to Toronto today and gonna dry some dry aged 50 days plus steak. Can't wait.

We went to dinner Saturday night (feb 1st) the meal and service was good but I didn't realise that I misplaced my wallet(on the floor underneath the table) so on Sunday early afternoon I knew my wallet was at the restaurant. 10 minutes after the RCMP called and they have my wallet and nothing was taken. There's two levels of dining and plenty of tables to sit at. Expect dim mood lighting in the restaurant. Staff are polite and friendly. Food definitely met expectations. When you order medium rare here, it is cooked perfectly!

What amazing food ❤️ When I mentioned my Shellfish allergy, the manager,Jennifer, took every extra steps to make sure my food did not come in contamination with any seafood or shellfish. She came to see me a couple of times to explain a few options for me. What amazing service. Really made me feel safe to eat my delicious steak ???????????? Completely recommend this restaurant.

What can you say about this place. The food is always good and they know how to cook a steak. I find it a little dark when I first walk in until my eyes adjust. We went in on a really bright winter day and I literally had to stop walking because I couldn't see anything inside. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Hi or miss experiences. Very expensive but portions are adequate for the price. Have had good servers as well as bad.
