Le Esmond is a wonderful place for couples or friends to meet, have a glass of some exceptional wine, and savour some truly tasty food offerings. The staff are warm and welcoming, and easily accommodated some special allergy requests, without skipping a beat. The wine list shows a number of bottles that are not available at the SAQ. Additionally, a sommelier is available to help with particular pairings. A great deal of thought and preparation went into the elaborate menu; the food easily rated 4/5. Overall, excellent value! Service was better than expected and I will definitely go back.

A sincere thank you to the crew at Le Esmond, we visited on a work trip and though we know very little french the staff was very polite and professional. The location and atmosphere were great, an unassuming almost warehouse looking building on the outside belies a restaurant that should be on any gourmand's radar. Inside a quaint, homey atmosphere is welcoming, there's a sense of nature with the plant decor and the view of trees close to the window. This is a unique experience that I cannot recommend more highly. The food was absolutely phenomenal, I had the Beef Carpaccio and the Lavender Creme Brulee, my friend had the steak and and the brownie. Talking with him neither of us could remember the last time we had had such a meal, nor could we think of anything we'd change. Again, absolutely wonderful, next time I'm in the area, I will be sure to return!

I had a pork sandwich and it was also impossible to eat. It was falling everywhere and pretty bland too. It was so ridiculous we couldn't stop laughing and the poor waitress was completely oblivious. I really wish it was just a bad experience and that it is better maybe for diner as we went for lunch. The pictures I've seen before seemed like another world to what I was served.

My companion took the octopus entrance. A tiny piece of octopus on a huge (beware!) Ham bun. But the worst part is that it was more of a point bread because, we are looking for the ham. Anyway, let's face it, the agreement of the dish between the octopus which is upscale and the ham (served in a lunch restaurant) is ordinary. To top it off, $ 18 for the main course. I'm not even telling you about the overcooked scoter when we asked for rare. A very promising dish with blue but that unfortunately we completely remove the taste with a pool of brown sauce (which does not stand out at all) stuffed with anise which masks both the taste of the meat and makes the blue like a common Philadelphia. All served on a commercial type polenta, Aurora makes them just as good. The tomato sauce for my entrees tasted exactly the same as Campbell's tomato soup but slightly spicy. And I know what I'm talking about, I was a boarder in the 90s in school, I'm a Campbell Soup expert (which I hate, by the way). In short, there is no research into the flavors, it announces the gastronomy but the dishes are simply arranged with quality products (or not) and put together on the plate. On the service side, although the waitress is often at our table, a question on the wine list, quite simple, like it's SAQ products or private imports was enough to have one: the taste is correct. The wine list was really good, shame not to have someone able to sell it. The service was not very cheerful and the transit kitchen table was quite long while being urgent because our table was reserved at 8pm. In short, we were waiting for our dishes to eat quickly. All of this for around $ 200. Completely overated. I have eaten in several restaurants (my opinions as proof) and for $ 120 at the Charlotte or the Gusto, we eat eight times better with a friendly and friendly service tinged with passion for the products. We tried it, now we know. (Original) Extrêmement déçu. En entrée de jeu, je ne suis pas un guide locator qui a tendance à mettre des 1 ou 2 étoiles. Mais dans ce cas ci, je n'ai pas vraiment le choix. Premièrement, les plats sont assez ordinaires. Ma compagne a pris l'entrée de pieuvre. Un tout petit morceau de pieuvre sur un énorme (attention!) pain de jambon. Mais le pire, c'est que c'était plus un pain point car, on cherche le jambon. De toute façon on va se le dire, l'accord du plat entre la pieuvre qui est haut de gamme et le jambon (servi en restaurant de déjeuner) c'est ordinaire. Le comble, 18$ pour le plat. Je ne vous parle même pas de la macreuse trop cuite quand nous avions demandé saignante. Un plat très prometteur avec du bleu mais que malheureusement, on vient complètement enlever le goût avec une marre de sauce brune (qui ne se distincte pas du tout) bourré d'anis qui masque à la fois le goût de la viande et fait passer le bleu comme un vulgaire Philadelphia. Tout ça servi sur une polenta de type commerciale, Aurora en fait des aussi bonnes. La sauce aux tomates de mes entrées goûtait exactement pareil que la soupe aux tomates Campbell mais légèrement pimpée. Et je sais de quoi je parle, j'ai été pensionnaire dans les années 90 à l'école, je suis un expert de la soupe Campbell (que je déteste, soit dit en passant). Bref il n'y a aucune recherche dans les saveurs , ça annonce la gastronomie mais les plats sont simplement agencés de produits de qualités ( ou pas ) et mis ensemble dans l'assiette . Côté service, bien que la serveuse est souvent à notre table, une question sur la carte des vins, assez simple, genre c'est produits SAQ ou importation privée était suffisante pour avoir un: le goût est correct. La carte des vins étaient vraiment bonne, dommage de ne pas avoir une personne capable de la vendre. Le service était pas très souriant et les transit cuisine table était assez long tout en étant pressant car, notre table était réservée à 20h. Bref, on attendait nos plats pour manger en vitesse. Tout cela pour environ 200$. Complètement overaté. J'ai mangé dans plusieurs restaurants (mes avis en preuve) et pour 120$ au Charlotte ou au Gusto, on mange huit fois mieux avec un service de proximité et sympathique teintée de passion pour les produits. On l'a essayé, maintenant on sait.

Les frittes avec parmesant et lime bon. les médaillons/cake pétoncles: l'accompagnement de petits ognions pas asser de variétés de goûts encore.
