The expectations for this particular establishment certainly came in high based on the reviews. Unfortunately, this was quite a disconnect from our reality, and I appreciate the attempt at mixing culinary cultures, but this one left me feeling dead inside. For a family of three our meals set us back $100 CAD - no drinks included as waiter forgot to bring the beer we ordered (seems to be a reoccurring thing). Apart from this the atmosphere was quite enticing and pleasant.

The Bistro Kapzak definitely knows how to stand out. Whether it's its unique Polish and Quebec fusion cuisine, Chef Jason Kapzack's passion for cocktails and local produce or their conviviality, which is no longer to prove after the restaurant's 7th anniversary. As if it was not enough, the Chef offers, about once a month, a special menu pairing with a wine or spirits that is close to his heart. I had the chance to participate in the last evening chef à table when Jason concocted a 5 course menu paired with the wines of the piemontese house Pelissero. The previous editions honored the Macallan Scotches or the Tuscan wines from the Tunia estate. Pelissero is a claimed modernist when it comes to winemaking technique, the use of casks and barriques and style in its wines. Located in the district of Treiso,one of the four key barbaresco communes, the 38 hectares of Pelissero is divised between 5 vineyards : Vanotu, Tulin, Piani, Augenta and Munfrina. The production is concentrated between their Barbaresco, Barbera and Dolcetto, but they also make Freisa, Favorita and Moscato. Overall, the wines shows great balance but especially a sleek and elegant style. From the fruity Dolcetto to the perfumed Tulin Barbaresco made from rocky soils, the wines all have the same dedicated delicacy. The pairings were elaborated and explained by Jason himself, always with a precision in his descriptions. A delicious duck tartare to start with a homemade cocktail. The second service, a veal tenderloin with cherries and plum puree worked particularly well with the Dolcetto d'Alba, Munfrina 2016. Then, a Polish version of a cheese and mushroom risotto surprised us all by its quality and delicious flavors, followed by a simple roast lamb and barbaresco Nebiula and Tulin. The great meal ended with the cheesecake with crispy dark chocolate and tiramisu. A true delight. Did you know that most of the vegetables used at Bistro Kapzak come directly from the large and abundant vegetable garden of his parents? More than just local products, they are family products and an opportunity that few craftspeople are lucky enough to have.

Attractive menu choices and private importation wine list make Kapzak a must in Granby.We shared an the pierogies appetizer which was succulent and enjoyed the pork chop with apple garnish as well as a fine duck breast for our main courses. Service by a sincere young lady was mostly good except when her colleague forgot to bring a second wine glass upon request.Nonetheless,all in all, a great discovery.

Good Atmosphere and good food This is a polish themed restaurant, though there appears to be some dishes that were adapted (such as a hamburger with a Polish flair). I had the Spazle and found it very good. I understand that the bar tender is known for his concoctions, though I didn't try them. The deserts have a bit of pizazz, too, with chocolate cream wraps made to look like cigars. The atmosphere is good. Importantly, it is one of the few restaurants open on Tuesdays.

Dauphinoises avec canard confit, les pommes de terre étaient très coriaces, pas assez cuites. Dessert à tomber, cigare de chocolat fourré d’une crème légèrement fumée. Lors de notre arrivée, je donne mon nom et on me dit qu’il n’y pas de réservation à ce nom. Je montre ma confirmation de réservation à l’hôtesse sur mon téléphone via Bookenda. Après plusieurs minutes et vérification auprès du gérant (??) on essaie de nous mettre dans une petite pièce sombre à l’écart, ce que je refuse. On nous installe finalement à une table pour 4 dans la grande pièce. Notre serveuse était excellent quoique débordée par le trop grand nombre de clients à servir. Nous avons dû demander la carte des desserts et après 30 minutes d’attente, demander au barman si nous pouvions commander un dessert et un digestif. Which is a little awkward when the timing is with the dessert. Perogi is definitely the entry you should go for the portion although is quite small 3 pieces for 9$. If you're reading this and considering other locations for a nice dinner, don't. This will be one of the most unique dining experiences you've ever had. The service, phenomenal. The food, authentic old country Poland meets modern methods of pairing and presentation. Decor, unique and rustic. Our table had the assortment platter of meats, pickled items, and a shot of lemongrass infused vodka. We also had two perogie appetizers, one with a bechamel sauce and one with caramelized onions and a fried. I recommend both. For main course everyone else had the burgers which were delicious. I felt for pork and opted for the pork chop with zucchini and sweet potato latkes. Delicious would be an understatement. The pork was seasoned to perfection and the latkes were an excellent compliment. All in all. Do yourself a favor and eat at what I consider to be the best resto in Sherbrooke, you won't be disappointed.

Went with my partner, the service is brilliant and the cocktails we ordered were lovely. The bar tender was also running tables and working the floor alone and did an amazing job. The food however missed a lot both my dish and partners was overly salty and lacking in flavour and style. My ravioli was slightly under cooked while giving minimal amount of duck possible for what seemed to be a duck fronted dish. Over all the dish was weird, I could see what the cook was trying to do with the pickles to cut through the dish and add some brightness but just didn't work ended up giving the dish weird flavour profile and bad presentation for what should be a very easy dish to do well. My partner ordered the Risotto which seemed to be more of a fried rice vibe to it, the tofu in the dish was dry and flavourless, the tempura broccoli was good part of it but also pushes the point of they should've just gone for a fried rice dish with the flavour profiles they were adding. We will probably go back again but only for drinks.

The food was excellent and the beverages of the utmost quality. Our waitress was so kind and fun to talk to. The mood of the place was fun and the inside decors were charming. We were three friends and we ask for the typical Polish meal and our waitress, which I forgot to mention was the owner of the restaurant, brought a huge plate of sausages, ribs, and "bavette de" beef. I went at lunchtime today and did not have the same experience as the other reviews. I had high hopes due to reviews and recommendations, but it ended up being very underwhelming: 1) Service, while nice enough, was ridiculously slow. There were maybe 7 other diners in the entire restaurant, and I had to wait 20 minutes for the waiter to take my order, and 15 from the time I asked for the cheque to when I could finally pay. He'd disappear in the kitchen for 5-10 minutes at a time. 2) I ordered a beer, which never arrived. I double-checked to make sure I wasn't charged for it. 3) 15 minutes after ordering, the waiter returned and said they didn't have the vegetarian sausage after all. When I asked if they had any other vegetarian meals, he offered the fish (!). Last time I checked, fish don't grow on trees. 4) He offered to bring me the rest of my plate but without the sausage. I asked if he would discount it since, you know, half of it was missing. He said he couldn't do that, but would bring a bigger portion. 5) When my plate came, it was not a bigger portion. There was risotto and vegetables, which were just OK, and an empty space where the sausage would have been. I don't know if the service, kitchen and attitude are completely transformed at dinner vs lunch, but this was a pretty terrible lunch experience. There are half a dozen better places for lunch within walking distance, go there. I'd give one star, but the extra star is because the place is nice, and they leave you with a whole carafe of water, not just refill your glass. Good thing too, or you'd probably wait ages for that as well.

On nous a mis sur la terrasse et malgré la légère pluie, nous avons été agréablement couvert. Le menu est succinct et les prix raisonnables. Les portions sont honnêtes et la décoration des plats très bien exécuté. Nous avons prix tous des plats différents. Les cotes levées semblent avoir été les meilleurs choix, les frites étaient bien assaisonnées et la chair de la cote levée se détachait toute seul. Malgré tous ces bons points, l’expérience fut gâchée par le manque totale de sel dans les plats, le poisson magnifiquement cuit se trouva être fade, la langoustine subit le même traitement … le canard … bref décevant. Le sel n’était même pas présent sur la table (nous aurions pu demandé et ne l’avons pas fait.). Le service quand à lui était sans défaut, rapide et courtois, ils ont répondu à tous nos questions avec le sourire. Une belle expérience overall, entaché par le manque d’assaisonnement.
