Tapas and wine. A very good experience. Waitresses were very polite and they accommodated us, without a reservation. The only thing that was a little odd is they kept mentioning that we should order quickly as the rush was about to start and then it would take much longer to get our orders. I heard them say this numerous times to other customers as well. This shouldn't be an issue, just go on with your night. Lastly, they ran out of certain popular dishes very early in the evening. The place was not even busy yet(other than the patio), but they ran out of menu items... A little fishy.

Location: In Gatineau. Street parking is available but I'm not sure if it's metered on weekdays/ nights since I went on a Saturday (also didn't notice if there were meters!). The place: Beautiful and unique decor, with cork walls, and light fixtures made up of wine glasses. My friend particularly liked the stools that were essentially, very large bottle corks! They also play excellent music! Great vibes all around. The goods: My friend ordered the 3 2oz wine glasses that allowed her to try three different wines, and she enjoyed them. Since our waiter told me that their wines were mostly all of the dry variety, I only tried a rosé (it was nice) then headed over to the strawberry-infused rum with lime, which was positively delicious and to answer our waiter's question, yes, yes I would like an entire pitcher to myself ????. Since dishes are meant to be shared, we decided to order the small charcuterie plate, the vegetable tempura, mushroom conserva and tuna. Everything was delicious, and the tempura was only lightly coated with crunchy goodness and not at all greasy. The charcuterie plate had a great variety of different items and the only item we were less crazy about was the smoked duck (but then, I don't think either of us were duck fans to begin with so it is really a matter of personal taste). For dessert, my friend had the trifle and I had the very delicious, unctuous chocolate tart. Service: Good. We were also satisfied with the measures they took to ensure a safe experience. The host gave us hand sanitizer when we walked in, and masks are required when moving around the restaurant. The wait staff wore face shields and masks as well. Price point: With taxes, it was about $170 for two people. Great little spot to check out in Gatineau! (But remember to wear your mask!)

They have a very cool wine flight of three wines to taste, which is a great if you are just stopping in a for a quick drink or as a nice way to start your evening. Edit: been back a few times and we still enjoy the place and the food but service can be almost nonexistent at times. We had a good 20 minutes pass where we sat there with empty glasses looking around and our server didn't even look at us. Really ruins the pacing and the experience, and should not happen at a place that calls itself a wine bar. Original review: Amazing atmosphere with cork wood on the walls and bar counter and everything. Amazing wine menu, and food was excellent, small plate, tapas-style. Look forward to coming back to try more on the menu.

One of the best foodie experiences I've had. We ordered the bread and the charcuterie/cheese dish. The bread and butter were so delicious I can't even. I could have only had bread and be content for the rest of the night. The cheese and charcuterie plate exceeded my expectations. I was ready for yet another store quality plate of cheese and cold cuts but no, it reminded me of what I had in Spain. Truely good food. And our wine was just perfect. We tested two different wines at first which we didn't like but the third time was a charm and I only wish I could have more of the Cabernet franc, but I was driving. Go to this place, drink lots of wine and don't forget the bread/butter dish.

Amazing selection of wine currate by an international award-winning somellier with local roots. Small yet delicious menu of French/Quebecois food. Service was professional. A great place for a small group of girlfriends/foodies, a date or to wow a colleague from out of town. A small (2oz) glass of great wine starts at $4 and sharing plants range start at about $8 (2.5 plates/person).

Most of the restaurant is made out of cork and even though it is an innovative concept, it looks like the restaurant is unfinished and made out of plywood. Our server was a little too familiar. Wen with friends to sample and judge wine pairings with a four course meal. The food was absolutely amazing with tastes I've never experienced before and the wine was top notch. Not only was is magic for the eyes, nose and mouth, it was an education on the effect that food has on the taste of wine. The owner, one of the first female somaliers in the world, came to the table a number of times to answer any questions and ensure that we were enjoying ourselves. All in all a wonderful evening that left all four of us satisfied in a lot of ways. Will definately be going back.

Typical prices for 4 oz glasses of wine were in the $8 to 10 range. The tapas were excellent but at least a third to small. Our order for 4 glasses of wine and 3 tapas set us back by 90$ and we were hungry when we left. Service was attentive and knowledgeable, no criticism there at all.

Really solid experience at Soif! We tried a few dishes but our favourites were the Brussels sprouts, duck, and the hazelnut dessert. My husband enjoyed his wine pairing and my drink was good as well. We get there and they want to sit us beside a table with a crying baby (seriously who brings their crying kid to a wine bar!!!!!!). The waiter then brings us inside the restaurant and sits us at a table. The restaurant is empty. Not a single other patron. No atmosphere. The waiter tells us he’s going to speak to the manager.
