At Musca we save oodles of money, support local business and help protect the environment by having our own empty wine bottles filled. We especially like the Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon. They also sell fresh parpadelle (where else can you find that!?), ravioli, sauces and soups from Italy. We're also going to do some Chritmas shopping there as they have products that are difficult to find such as airators and decantors. The staff knows us by name and is always friendly and helpful. 5☆

For years I had been using field grapes to make my wine. 44 cases a year, I was starting to get more wine than I needed and running out of space. This year I wanted to cut back to 33 cases. I went to see Carmella and she convinced me to purchase 33 cases of Pia grapes. They were more money, but better quality. I could not believe the yield of juice that I received from those grapes! I ended up with the same litres of wine with 33 cases of Pia as I normally yielded with 44 cases of field grapes. So the ironic part is that I didn't cut back at all. Next year I can buy less cases. We have been clients at Musca Wines for well over 20 years and Always get Great Wine and Service. we prefer the Grapes and the Juice.Which the quality is excellent at Musca. Also when we are Bottling the wine the help is tremedous. It's like they are doing all the work, and I would be washing the bottles and doing a bit of this and that. I am usually finished in under 20 minutes. Musca is the only establishment in Ottawa that has Grapes pretty much all year round, imported from Italy. They also have a huge assortment of pastas and Items imported from Italy and grape growing areas.We will never think of going anywhere else....because when you are at the Best Place for making wine in Ottawa, Why would you want to go to a Lessor place? Great family-run place...unlike the 'other' place up the road, these folks won't make you feel stupid and appear exasperated with your queries. I was all set to buy a ton of stuff at that other place (not knowing about the fine folks at Musca-wine) and the one guy was just terrible...no straight answers...all offended that I didn't already know everything SOOOOOOO I took off and ended up heading to the fine folks at Musca-Wine...and bought everything there. Told all my friends after they sampled my great home-brewed beer about them too and they'll be starting soon too. I had a bucket that ended up cracking (not their fault...manufacture defect) and I had lost the receipt...was all worried they were going to hassle me for it but instead: "We'll replace that for you right away sir" Cuz' they had remembered me buying it...even though they weren't required to. The guys up the road probably wouldn't have done that...Highly recommended!

The staff at Musca are absolutely fantastic to deal with. I placed an order for curbside pickup via email, and they not only got back to me very quickly, but suggested a few improvements (I was buying basically a full set of equipment as this is my first foray into wine- and mead-making) and an alternative for one thing that was out of stock. The order was ready for pickup within a couple of business hours, and the pickup went without a hitch. Great local shop for all your wine-making supplies!

Terrible. My daughter bought some wine. As she has in the passed and was happy with it. This patch that she just recently ordered was not up to its usual. On her behalf, I brought one bottle back for them to taste. Carmen was very rude with me regarding the quality of the wine. The wine was water down and tasted off, vinegary. Before I described the wine, I wanted her to taste it and give me her impression. After tasting it, she indicated there was nothing wrong with the wine. And insisted that I was wrong and did not know what I was talking about. I was trying to explain that it may have been a bad batch but no way was I able to make any valid comments without her interrupting and being extremely rude. Musca has been in business for many years. My dad used to buy grapes from them. I believe that they are a good place whose products meets the needs of many. But I also believe that once in awhile bad patches do happen. This is what happened to this Blush Chardonnay. Instead of admitting that wine was bad, she attacked my ability to recognize wine and refused to hear me out. I had various people taste the with general agreement that the wine was bad. My inexperienced daughter who has already bought from Musca and has no real concept of good wine (she could probably drink anything it would be fine) admitted that wine was GROSS. Carmentreally should be more watchful of how she reacts to clients. I know for a fact that I will never buy or use their product. And I will with no hesitation tells others of my experience. Let's hope her business can survive another 40 years with her attitude. Extremely bad customer service by Carmen. Excellent personality from Noella.
