When a restaurant decorates its lobby/hallway with the many distinctions it received, it better deliver. Unfortunately, I was at Beckta for lunch and the lobster risotto I had was watery and toped with a handful of salty nuts; the kind you would get for 25¢ in a distributor at a dive bar. I'm not a big fan of white linen dining (lunching) to begin with, but if you're to set up your tables with white table cloths, make sure they're not wrinkly and imprinted with glass marks from the night before. The main dish I had (clams) was great and the service outstanding, hence the four stars. I would most likely go back to have a drink at the bar located at the back of the restaurant.

Aside from the fabulous food and wines, they have (more than once) accommodated our dietary restrictions without batting an eye. Not sure why folks complain about portion size. I've never left without feeling like I'd eaten too much - and I assure you that is a good thing.

Cozy and elegant dinning experience in a beautiful historic building. The food is incredible! The dishes had flavour pairings that would seem unconventional yet come together like old friends. Staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgable about the dishes served. They mentioned that the building is haunted! I didn't encounter anything or anyone during my visit, yet it would definitely make for a unique dinning experience.

I had been wanting to try Beckta for years and finally did for my anniversary in June and we decided to get the wine pairing. We were 1 of 3 tables (7PM) and when we left, we were the last table. The atmosphere was non-existent (To be fair Elgin is/was a mess). We sat in the dining room to the right of the entrance. First thing I noticed when I sat down was the HVAC above our table was covered in thick grey dust. Hard not to notice something like that when it's over your food. We were severed by two very junior servers. I get it, you need to start somewhere to get experience, but they were so nervous, it was actually funny. Overall, the food and wine was good, but the overall experience was very disappointing. For $300, I can think of a lot of nice places in Ottawa I can spend my money next time. It would take something very special to get me back in to eat there again.

This week I went out to dinner with my husband to Beckta restaurant. We choose this restaurant for two reasons; Primarily due to the location. See 22 year ago my husband and I had our first date on February 7 at a restaurant called Friday. This restaurant is now closed and Becta took over the location. For my husband and me, it was a trip down memory lane. Secondly, we have heard some good reviews about the restaurant. Here is my experience; The place is very cozy The service I will describe into two parts, the first part was good, the waiter was experienced and professional, he was then replaced by another waiter. The entree were okay, but then came the main dishes. I was very surprised by the presentation of the plate: it was a mountain of very salty fries and poor cooked steak. In conclusion, I was looking for fine dining and got the hungry man’s dinner. I am hoping that the cook was having a bad day (which is okay we are only human) but my experience was not pleasant, my husband who never usually complains asked for the waitress to taste his heavily salted fries Last but not least, the wine happened to be out of reach and they completely forgot to refill our glasses throughout the night (even though we obviously paid for an expensive bottle).

The service is great. My fiancé and I came here and tried the 5 course dinner. It was pricy, but we thought we would celebrate! Although this was a while back, we still remember the waiter giving my fiancé a butter knife for his Cod dish, and his Foie Gras was way to salty. When we told our server, she quickly let the kitchen know and they gave us a cheese platter on the house, which made the experience a bit better!

Our waiter helped us pair wines to our meals with confidence and it was spot on. Take a couple hours and really enjoy their fine dining. It was a wonderful experience.

Overpriced. I'd recommend Atelier over this place any day. The steak dish was bland and rubbery. Service was annoying. We had the tasting menu. Our waitress provided no guidance on choosing dishes and said she would explain later to keep the 'surprise'. Did we ask for a surprise? No. How should we pick based on surprises? When asked further about ingredients that she had memorized, she had no idea. Seemed like a poor effort for such an expensive meal. The dishes themselves seemed more mass produced rather than prepared with delicate care. The taste reflected that. Spend your money elsewhere.

I cannot give these guys enough praise. The curated by Beckta meal kits are to die for. The menu changes every week so you can change it up everytime and only order when you like what's on the menu. This service, created during Covid is a 3 course meal prepped and ready for you to finish off at home in 30 mins. All of the ingredients are carefully labeled and an instruction sheet, as well as a YouTube video, accompanies the meal. You get an appetizer, the main course and a dessert. We always go for the option with the 2 bottles of wine recommended for the meal! Total for 2 is 150$ or 80$ without the wine. A delivery fee is added depending on where you get it delivered!

This was a super great experience. My wife and I went for our anniversary. We chose to have the 5 course s with wine pairings. Zero regrets know this one. We've done a couple of multi-course meals before, and Beckta does it well. There was never any pressure and we took our time throughout every course. They even added a little something because it was our anniversary. Thank you Beckta. All of your restaurants in the NCR are great and we will keep coming back.

Everything we had was enjoyed, and the server was kind enough to bring more bread, clear the table diligently, etc. Great spot for romantic dinner! New venue is great too. Extensive wine list.

I ordered the Duck Magret. It was good, but I don't think it's worth the $45. I've been to many 5 star and michelin restaurants, and the duck didn't really stand out for me, especially for the price. They should give a little more of the duck itself, or some more sides as I had to go to another restaurant afterwards to satisfy my hunger. For dessert, I got the sweet trio. I enjoyed that a lot as the treats were the perfect sweetness.

An upscale restaurant in the heart of downtown Ottawa, close to Parliament Hill. It now stands where the old Grant building over 140 years ago. The restaurant is named after a famous local restauranteur and entrepreneur, Stephen Beckta. We enjoyed an evening of wine pairing with numerous different dishes matching the wine chosen. A great place for individuals, groups to enjoy an experience in fine cuisine. It was my first visit and probably won't be my last.

Beckta had been on our list for a while to visit. Overall, I wish had two more arms so I could give this place four thumbs up! The 5 course blind tasting menu was balanced in every course. Each dish had its own personality and the quantity was perfect overall to leave us satisfied and with both smiles and memories. Their cappuccino was also hands down the best I’ve had in a while. I would recommend Beckta to anyone seeking a sublime and memorable culinary experience.

I was a bit disappointed honestly. As a big foodie who has gone to a number of high class restaurants like this one, I was disappointed. My best friend and her mom treated me to a dinner here and for the price of our evening, the flavours were underwhelming. I have yet to go to a restaurant with better food than ei18hteen. Portions are okay but again, flavours.... My friends main, the Seared Scallops, were tough and her plate was unevenly salted. My Boar Rillette appetizer didn't have enough acid to cut through the richness. I had the duck as the main course and it was probably the only tasty thing, and mom had the Island Cod, which she enjoyed. We didn't have dessert.

Very good food and superb service. The restaurant is in a large, old house with many nooks and crannies, so private and discreet dining is available. The sound system and noise level are well controlled so it's possible to easily converse. The pleasant bar area is in a part of the house that has been more heavily renovated than other parts. My fiancee and I attended Beckta for our anniversary dinner. This has been our third visit and Beckta never ceases to impress. The mood was friendly and warm, with some light jazz playing. The waiter was amicable and light hearted, making us feel welcome while not being overbearing. The food, as always, was beautiful. "Melt in your mouth" dishes with combinations of flavours that flowed together eloquently. We had stayed for two hours before we realized the time passing. I would absolutely recommend Beckta to anyone who enjoys great food, or anyone who believes a restaurant should be an experience. I will be returning.

Went for special occasion as a party of four and had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing - and it was excellent! Often, when having a tasting menu, one of two courses might not be a hit or your favorite but, in this case, every one in our party loved every course, and the wine pairings were also very good. The top-notch service sealed the deal. For those looking for a bargain, or quantity vs quality, this is not your restaurant; but if you appreciate fine dining and don't mind paying for it, this is a great spot in Ottawa.

Debb's is a fantastic brunch spot! A lot of options on their menu from lighter options to huge portions as well.Serving staff is always super pleasant and accommodating- quick to refill coffees and bring/take dishes.I had Coconut Cream Pie for Breakfast. Well, with breakfast. This is a spacious, quaint, rustic diner style restaurant that is only open from 7AM until 2PM. Obviously the locals like it a lot.

My husband ordered a "Curated by Beckta" dinner for two (meal kit #7) last night to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The meal along with wine was delivered to our home in the afternoon with full instructions and link to YouTube to show how to put the finishing touches on the dinner. It was all fabulous!! The salad was delicious, the Lamb Kielbasa and Summer Succotash were delicious and the Rhubarb Cheesecake Tart was excellent. The portions were all extremely generous. We really appreciated the wines that were chosen to compliment the meal. We would love to be able to go to any of the Beckta restaurants; Beckta, Play and Gezellig, when it's possible but would definitely consider this option again.

We took my father-in-law here for his birthday and had the three-course menue fixe. There was enough selection that he could have something simple, but we could be adventurous. I have a wheat sensitivity, and this was the most accommodating restaurant I've ever been to, hands down. I notified our server when we ordered, and asked him to point out any good options for me. He said they could accommodate me in any item (except the ravioli). For the rest of the meal, practically all the staff who served us our food remembered to assure me, without my having to ask, that the food they brought was safe for me. They even brought me papadam instead of bread beforehand!

Did not enjoy my experience. Called in advance if they could accommodate a low carbohydrate dietary restriction, which they said yes. Ordered steak frites sans frites. 1) gave me corn which is high in carbohydrates 2) they gave me shallots as an additional vegetable, which is basically eating an onion. 3) they gave me 5 baby Brussels sprouts, which out of the 3 was the only appropriate substitute for my request. My girlfriend didn’t enjoy her meal as it was over powering with the taste of lemon. Even the bread they served before dinner was a lemon flavoured bread. For the cost of the meal I had much higher expectations. Would not fine there again.

We went here for a couple of birthday celebrations on the same night. The entrance is certainly. Unique as half of the building is inside the lobby and the other is outside. The table we had was very private and had virtually our own waitress. We had the tasting menu which is unique and most of the dishes were very good and well presented. We had the wine pairing as. Well and they were excellent. Parking is also complementary and inside the same building. Desserts were good except for the cheese plate which was sparse.

Went here for date night with my boyfriend while we were visiting Ottawa. This place was very appealing. The space was cozy but not crowded and everyone was so kind. We've been going to Beckta since they were in their original location and it is truly one of Ottawa's gems. Their wine list is quite interesting, their menu ever changing. Food is always fantastic and service is great! Great place for special occasions, romantic dinner or for a cocktail and quick bite to eat after work. We've also been ordering from their Curated by Beckta since the start of the pandemic and have had tremendously good food and wine at home! Thanks to Stephen, Clay and all the team!

It can be wildly frustrating to go to fine dining as a younger person; there tends to be a tendency to treat them with disrespect (either intentionally or unintentionally) and with contempt. A quick shout-out to the staff who were extremely accommodating and wonderful. Really made the whole experience. Food was fantastic; vegetarian options are somewhat limited but they are quality and I didn't feel as though they were an afterthought as they too often are. Fast, friendly, and in a historic building to boot.

Not worth it, especially for the price. The service was good but not extraordinaire. The place is very fancy. However, they took a really long time for the food. The complementary bread was nice but not warm, it was room temperature. After lots of waiting, we finally received our dishes, which were not worth their price, neither in quantity nor quality. The quantity was very small, especially for a $40 dish, and the quality was sub par compared to restaurants with a price of half or less. My wife couldn't even eat her dish because the pork she had was really that bad. You could feel the low quality meat when tasting it, which ended up as the most expensive dinner my dogs have ever eaten. We were waiting for a special occasion to dine here, and it turned out a complete disappointment. Not worth your time or money. We haven't been to all fancy restaurants in town, but to spend this amount of money for a really good meal I'd recommend Sur Lie.

Beckta is known for it's wine list and dinner menu, but it's also my favourite pick for lunch. The dining rooms are divided up which lends well to a quiet conversation. Decor is elegant. I had a lovely rutabaga soup which had a hint of sweetness and smooth, creamy texture, followed by the beef tartar. Service was excellent. Only downside was that a fire alarm went off in the adjacent building and continued on for 15 minutes. Not the restaurants fault. Staff were very gracious.

Had the five course meal with wine pairings. Loved the scallop ceviche and duck, liked the sweetbreads (loved the risotto it was on), couldn't make up my mind about the delicata squash, and did not like the dessert (the blue cheese overpowered every other taste). Loved two of the wines and was rather mild on the other three. The meal was great, but considering the price of everything, I've definitely had better valued meals. That said, the service is far and away some of the best I have ever experienced. They helped rush the course meal due to my poor scheduling and even offered to substitute one of the courses with octopus, an appetizer I expressed interest in but ultimately did not order. They were very accommodating about food restrictions, changing the most minute details of some courses, highlighted by the waiter. The pace of the meal was phenomenal; brisk but not rushed. I also overheard above-and-beyond service from other tables around us. The service alone is why, despite my reservations about the value of the meal, I would love to go again.

“Cozy, Romantic and "Homely" Ambiance, Fantastic Food, Professional Staff!” Becta (along with Play Food and Wine from the same owner) is by far my most favorite dinning place in Ottawa. What makes this restaurant immediately distinguished form all other restaurants of this type is their ambiance. It is so cute and cozy and super romantic. The (apparently new) location is divided into smaller rooms. This is especially great because their noisy and laud bar is separated from their classy restaurant room. The room we were seated at had a fantastic view of Elgin street and the Confederation Park and classic stone build look and feel to it. If I haven't already said enough, the ambiance of the restaurant is so lovely and has a unique identity. It's not too luxury, it's not hipster, it is its unique identity!! When you go to a restaurant like this, gastronomy becomes a priority. And my dishes had it all. My order from the 3 course menu was: -> Beckta’s vitello tonnato, Albacore tuna carpaccio, crispy veal sweetbreads, caper salsa verde, aioli, ginger oil -> Miso broth-poached lobster tail, squash risotto, shiitake mushrooms, rapini buds -> Black Forest Chocolate Cake Every single one of them was simply fantastic and had a unique taste like no where else. I should note that my partner's dish of Heirloom beets was more typical than unique, but her 1855 Angus Striploin made up for it. The staff were very professional and accommodating and brought us gratuity "Hail" appetizer and "Farewell" desert to make a five star impression on us. And my professional, I mean just enough attention and service! Long story short, great ambiance, great food, great staff!!

I was at beckta a few years back and I absolutely loved it. This time around I was disappointed. The restaurant had this terrible fish smell as soon as you walked in, it was so strong that I almost wanted to leave. As for our diner I had ribeye steak and it was overcooked. The second time around it was ok but since they serve it presliced all the flavour is gone. Really nothing special.

Nice fancy place, located in the historical building that used to house the legendary Friday's. Two areas to eat, wine bar and dining room - both two different experiences. The first is more trendy and casual, while the second is more elegant and classy in atmosphere. Personally I preferred the dining room. As at the old location, the food does not disappoint and the wine matches are fantastic. A real nice place to treat yourself!

Had my first experience with Bekta last night, and I could not be more impressed! My bosses sent over a beautiful dinner (meal kit#72) to my home for me and my partner to enjoy. A box was delivered to me at my home yesterday afternoon, inside were boxes of prepped ingredients with a letter containing cooking instructions, and two bottles of wine. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, the food was unbelievably delicious (appetizer, main, and dessert) and the wine was beautiful paired. Even the person who dropped off the dinner to my door was very kind and hospitable, asking if I had any questions for him about the meal kit, did not make me feel rushed at all. I HIGHLY recommend!!!

Beckta USED to be our favorite family restaurant of choice when is was at it's first location on Nepean. Now we have tried it 3 times since it opened on Elgin hoping that the bad experience we had the first 2 times were just because it was newly opened but it is not the case. It has just changed and will NOT go back. This is NOT was Beckta used to be. If they wanted to do something so different, they should have changed the name or do it yet still keep Beckta on Nepean. There was certainly a need for it. That place was always full. Everything that made the original Beckta restaurant has been stripped. No more personal greeting. No more caramelized butter. No more bread server. No more explanation of the cheese plate. before cutting them for you. They just plunk it in font of you. The selection of food is not as good, and sadly, even the taste of the meal is not the same and finally the dessert are no way near as elaborate. They had the perfect recipe and ruined it. It appears that in going bigger they decided to be more cost efficient and in the process, lost everything , all the special attentions and ingredients, that had made Beckta on Nepean one of the best restaurant in Ottawa. Sadly in my mind, Beckta is NO MORE.

It's the perfect mix of fine dining without being stuffy, and the staff are among the best in Ottawa. Often when you get away from the big cities such as NY something slips in restaurants, but not here. This is a smallish world capital, but the food is still top notch. We called late for a reservation, but they were able to get a table, with the provision that we would need to move to a smaller table if we wanted to stay more than 2 1/2 hours. When we were ready for dessert, the two of us were moved from our table for four to a smaller table for two and we finally left after about four hours. Needless to say the food and service was superb.

I can't believe i'm going to say this but it was one of the worst meals at a restaurant we have had in our lives. My wife and i both did the 5 course tasting menu + Wine pairing, with tax/tip it was a $390.00 meal. We didn't have one dish (we had all 10), where we said "yum" or "wow". Talk about a complete disappointment on our Anniversary. We sat down at 6:55 on Friday night, and our first drink was at the table at 7:17. Seems like quite a long time to be sitting there. I admit our server was very knowledgeable and was the only highlight. Radish Salad - one of the better things and it wasn't even great. Japanese Fish sashimi - tasteless dish. Duck - Boring, little taste, sauces had little flavor. Elk - chewy/stringy. Took a huge bite and chewed for over a minute. Not acceptable. Sauce was "overkill" with richness. Pasta - So salty, and nothing to it. Decent portion but can make better at home from a box...yes a box. Sweetbreads - ok, that was really good. Literally the only thing out of 10 dishes that was acceptable. Pork Tartar/confit "thing" - inedible salty. We got an extra dessert to bring home because we mentioned it. We LOVE salt, but talk about over seasoning. When you pay $400 for a meal that clearly should have been $150.00 (and we still would have been disappointed) it's heart breaking. I haven't been to McDonald's in 5 years but i promise we would have been more satisfied. We had a recent bad meal at PLAY, now Beckta. Too many amazing restaurants in this city.

Beckta is a lovely restaurant with a large guest area dining room on the ground floor and private rooms upstairs. We had a private room for six people. The dinner was fantastic. I had the beef tenderloin while others in our party had duck magret and venison. All of the meals were excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. Undoubtedly one of Ottawa’s finest restaurants.

I loved this place and the service was amazing. Came here after work with a couple of coworkers... The wait was ok considering they had to make a new table for us (we were a party if 5 without reservation). The food was great, the bread OMG, soft on the inside nice and crisp on the outside. I give it 4 starts because my desert was not as amazing as I thought it would be, I'm a chocolate lover and I found the chocolate desert a bit much, there was a lot going on, the goat cheese icing was a bit too strong in flavor for the already really rich dark chocolate cake so the balance was sorta off, I would've preferred the icecream that came with it to be complimenting flavor as the chocolate icecream didn't quite do it for me. The chocolate icecream with super rich dark chocolate cake with goat cheese icing... Nope! But everything else was amazing and pure magic to my pallette. Will definitely recommend and return!

I went with my two friends for a combined birthday and girls night out. We were able to get a vegan menu for one of my friend's which had a good selection for her. Added bonus. We went for the three course option. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and simply delicious. They brought out our food at good intervals, and they made sure we were well taken care of for drinks. They had a refreshing little amuse-bouche to start off and ended the meal with a nice complimentary chocolate truffle. The service was also impeccable. Our server was super knowledgeable and friendly, and they coordinated with other servers that made for a smooth service between giving us our meals, clearing the plates, refilling drinks, ect. It definelty added to the ambiance. We didn't feel rushed or crowded by the service, nor did they just disappear once the food was dropped off. The perfect balance. It is expensive but worth every penny. The whole experience was simply wonderful. Would recommend for a lovely night out in town.

The food was simply average at best and not acceptable for a restaurant like Beckta. I had an overcooked venison and my wife and I undercooked chicken. Complete opposite to our first visit. This was an unplanned visit when my wife and I were looking for a restaurant open on Wednesday at 5:30 pm. We had a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding and so was the service. We shared the oysters, sourdough bread, and an order of bao. Everything was so tasteful, fresh, and wonderful. It is fine dining, so the price is a little more that your average restaurant bill but certainly worth the price. Highly recommend when you want to take that extraordinary person in your life for an extraordinary experience.

Very nice surprise. We ate at the bar and were very well taken care of by the personable bar tender. Lovely room--orange chairs are beautiful contrast to the older building. Lighting at the bar was particularly well done--intimate but helpful to reading the menus! WIne selection by the glass was good--tried a Canadian Gamay--who knew? Am going to buy some to bring home to the US it was so good. Food was yummy--had the pasta and the Arctic char tartar--quite good. Salads were good but overdressed--hence the 4 stars. Bartender was stellar as I ordered a dish that I did not like and he immediately saw my expression and whisked it away and replaced it--no charge for the dish I did not eat. Well done! We will return while we are here--more food and wine to try. Try it you will enjoy

Delicious food. Creative cocktails. Unique and romantic ambience. The only disappointment was waiting 15 minutes for our table despite a reservation. The amuse bouche with duck was sweet, and the perfect single bite. The virgin watermelon cocktail was delicious. My first course was the mackerel. It was cooked to perfection atop delicious mushrooms and vermicelli. I am a big kimchi snob, but this kimchi kicked my ass. The dish was perfectly balanced. For my main I ordered the cod. The cod was moist, and cooked to the right temperature. The accompanying veg was light and we'll balanced. The dessert cheese selection was divine. Service was pleasant and not rushed, but we did wait a long time to wrap up our bill. We will definitely be back.

Amazing food, though the lemon tart was unfortunately so sour it was literally inedible. My first two courses were so sublime that it was easily forgiven, though, especially since the waiter warned us that the tart was, in fact, very tart. The food is AMAZING and the staff are great at recommending wine based on your tastes. They have a very extensive selection of wines: red, white, sparkling, dessert / fortified, etc. Wine can be purchased by the bottle, and select wines can be purchased by the glass if wine tastes differ in your group. They also serve beer and non-alcoholic beverages. My friend ordered the beef tartare and deemed it to be 'orgasmic'. I got the pappardelle pasta, which was far better than any vegetarian pasta I've ever had elsewhere. Other friends ordered appetizers, which were pretty standard fare. The descriptions of the foods were really 'fancy' and therefore confusing. The menu would benefit from having images depicting all of the strange words, so that patrons don't have to rely as much on Google Images. Per person, you can expect to spend $50-$75 plus gratuity. The decor is really intimate and classy, but there is no dress code in effect.

Medicore. Have the main but not the dessert. Food is over compensated by salt and sauce, we had to get our own coats at the end. Definitely try the mains, really really cooked well sides were all original and different . The crust of each protein was very familiar to eachother. Bass, troat and steak are done very well. Very original sauce on the steak :) (good) Suggest to try, but will not repeat. Thanks for the experience, was a good initial visit, the end needs a stronger finish.

We went to Bekta on our honeymoon, after much discussion on where to go. I'm so happy we chose it! The food was exquisite, the service, outstanding, the atmosphere is beautiful . I hate that I can't remember our servers name, I think it was Jeremy but I may be mistaken. He was phenomenal! His wine pairings were spot on and each one perfectly accompanied the dish it came with. Just brilliant. We will be back, perhaps for our first anniversary, if I can wait that long.

My partner and I wanted to have a fancy date night, and wanted to try a new restaurant! Through friends, we were already aware of the high quality dining experience to expect. Everything exceeded expectations. There is an extensive wine list, cocktails and beer. There are vegan friendly options. We first shared bread for our appetizer, and I must say the whipped brown butter that comes with the bread is worth the visit alone! My partner had the eggplant kiev, and I had the steak. Both dishes were excellent. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. There's also a dessert menu, and I would HIGHLY recommend the chocolate terrine, it was amazing. How do they make chocolate so soft, but not melted? ???? The service was also top notch. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. We even each received a small bonus drink (champagne for her, wine for me!). There is also a bar on the main floor, if you're in the mood for just drinks. If you're looking for a fine dining experience in Ottawa, I highly recommend Beckta. Everything there exudes quality, the menu rotates so there's always something new for you to try, and they really make you feel like VIP guests ????

From delivery to meal prep this was an excellent experience. The owner delivered the food and was extremely nice. Instructions were very easy to follow and quality of food was superb. Truly a fine dine experience at the comfort of our home! Wine provided as the pair went PERFECTLY with the food recommended to have it with and quality of ingredients were exceptional. There was essentially no garbage disposal, just plastic for recycling. I’m sure they COULD look into compostable containers but that may alter the taste of food, containers can get soggy etc. So for what it is worth to me this was also much more environmentally friendly than your common competitors. Excellent and highly recommend!

My wife and I had a phenomenal experience at Beckta yesterday. We both chose the tasking menu (gluten free for myself) and it was incredible. My wife also really enjoyed the wine pairing. I joked with the server, who was absolutely perfect btw, that the scallop ceviche course will forever be seared into memory. Such an amazing combination of flavors, textures and the presentation was so beautiful, too. The meal is worth every penny; however, it's a once-a-year-at-most establishment for us due to the cost. At least the underground parking is included with your meal! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Cornish hen tasted rather odd, server indicated "yes, it's gamey", and apparently therefore our problem if we weren't sophisticated enough to enjoy it. I had a couple of bites of the strange-tasting hen and filled up on bread, which was not at all warm. Wine was nice. Carrot cake was overly sweet. Wait staff were pleasant but very busy and not particularly attentive.
