Husband and I thought we would give it a try after all it’s a beautiful sunny day why not enjoy the patio! We stood for 3-4 min waiting for someone to greet us, we where escorted out as asked, we where greeted by a server who took our drink order I ordered a tequila mockingbir it was 13$ and was in a small short glass and husband ordered a Dave Mathews 12$ an all time favourite/famous Fredericton drink well it did not tast anything like it should it was strong and watered down all at the same time! The server was quite pleasant husband had asked what she would recommend on the menu she gave us a few options of her favourites then left and then our drinks where brought out by another server who we informed that we where ready to order she took our order of ricotta dip, chicken & prosciutto and wings! The dip came out first and fairly fast it was as expected creamy rich n delicious (best thing out of it all) I would recommend this dish! We finished that off they cleared the table, then we waited and waited and waited some more we where 45 minutes in at this point we have had one drink and an apitizer we had plans that we needed to get too we where just saying that we where done waiting I was getting up from the chair when finally the pizza and wings arrive... the honey garlic wings where good nothing to write home about 8 of them where 14$ The pizza was the kicker it was a regular size for 18$ and over half of the bottom of it was so burnt it travelled throughout the entire pizza wrecking the flavour that we should have been able to tast! Now we have had many of these styles of pizzas before and some char is to be expected but nothing like this, this was burnt! And I will not be spending another 80$ their ! We will not be returning here and if you must absolutely feel the need to try it out do not get the pizza! The table beside us was complaining as well!

RustiCo. is one of my two favourite restaurants in Fredericton. It's my go-to place to bring family and friends when they come to visit. I always get pizza but everything looks good. The staff are really friendly (one time my friend didn't have her ID and even though she wasn't drinking, apparently she still needed it. The waitress who kicked us out felt really bad and she wasn't a jerk about it, which was nice) and the food comes in a normal, good amount of time! When people tell me they haven't been to RustiCo., I tell them they HAVE to go.

Nice atmosphere for a double date with friends. Great food and drinks; quick, helpful service. I had their wood fired pizza for the first time at the Garrison Night Market and the pizza did not disappoint again in-house.

We were there to grab a meal for two, they weren't able to take our orders properly, made us wait for a long time and promised to replace our meals in 2 minutes which didn't happen. So cancelled everything and left. I don't think we will go there again. I wouldn't recomend to anyone. I think they need to rearrange the way they handle things or their staff

The most sickening food I have ever had. The waitress seemed to feel sorry for us for dining there and we felt rushed. The tortillas were rock hard and my side salad was rotten. Thank God for the margarita to help us swallow our food. Fredericton's Mexicali Rosa's - thank you for reminding us why it closed down in Ottawa. Because it never would have passed a second food safety inspection.

Service is hit or miss, but the pizza is great! Always check your bill to make sure you've been charged the correct amount on specials. Edit: I’m removing a star because they can’t cook beef and the chef got really defensive when I pointed out that my steak was still waaaay overcooked after the third time they made it. A little bit of context, they had a steak night special and I asked for my steak medium rare. The first two times they sent them out the steaks were well done. The third time the chef came out saying he cooked it himself, but the steak was still way over cooked when I cut into it (which he stood there and watched me do). I am by no means a cook, but you can’t tell me a steak without any red in the centre is medium-rare. I was shocked (as were the people in my party) when the chef proceeded to argue with me about it, saying that’s how medium rare looks in that cut of meat. It was super awkward. Frankly, if you cannot cook a cut of beef to a medium rare temperature (because it’s a thinner cut, your kitchen is too busy, whatever) you shouldn’t recommend ordering it that way on the menu. I understand that sending my steak back probably slows down the kitchen and that’s frustrating on a busy night, but even the waitress seemed baffled as to why the steak kept coming out well done and horrified when the chef started arguing with her customers. The front of house manager offered to comp my meal and offered me a coupon for future use, but I turned them down and I’ve never been back. Most of my reviews on Google are glowingly positive and I’ve tried really hard to love RustiCo, but I stand by this two-star review.

Overall good. Pizza selection is somewhat limited. I requested parmesan on the side and I was ok to pay extra for that. Mid meal I asked for some hot sauce and was also charged for that. Every little request seems to have a price, it started to feel like a cash grab. I will visit again but this is not my top choice in the downtown area.

I hadn't heard the best things about this restaurant when it first opened, but I really enjoyed my experience. The server ensured we had a great table on the patio even though it was busy and the patio look/feel is gorgeous. Split the Brisket Donair pizza and house salad with a friend along with a glass of completely delicious Pinot Grigio. Prices were totally reasonable and food was great.

Five of us attended last evening and were really impressed with the redesign of this new restaurant....Big city look, small town feel !! Lots of helpful, patient staff to explain the many items on the menu. Four of us ordered a different pizza to share along with appetizers and drinks. Eric, our waiter, provided excellent service!! We all agreed the food was very good, a variety of tastes you wouldn't normally find in Fredericton. If you're looking for a thick, heavily laden pizza, then this probably isn't your place, but if you crave thin crust, wood fired pizza, this place is a must. Everything considered, we loved it !! Highly recommend!

The pizzas here are phenomenal being baked over a wood fire and having a variety of awesome toppings to choose from. i ordered nachos to go - chicken,( with a side of Guac for $2 or $3- which was so tiny it was about 1 tablespoon full ) They came in a pizza box - 1 layer - finely chopped chicken pieces, finely chopped onions and tomatoes and gr peppers - they were very small, and not very appetizing. I asked for the honey chipotle sauce, thinking it would be some type of authentic Mexican sauce - but it was a highly SWEET BBQ sauce, i think. Overall, i was very disappointed - and the worst part of it, it came to $19.95. COMPLETLY OVERPRICED. And very disappointing. Not authentic at all - and I will not go back. Several years back i used to eat here and their nachos, at least, were authentic Mexican fare. Not anymore. :(

We had one pizza with anchovies on it and pizza box, which we found overpriced and bad. Barely no toppings, and the anchovies one tasted so fishy, also the crust was just thin and floppy. Very disappointed. We also had the ricotta dumplings as a main, where we only found 9 tiny small dumplings and it was priced at 26?! I found it overpriced again. Also we tired the veggie burger, and I think that was just okay but fries was good.

After coming here a couple of times shortly after they opened and being very disappointed, I went back and was pleasantly surprised. The menu has been updated with lower, more reasonable prices and better pizza options. The beer that they brew in-house is good too. I really liked the IPA, which is fairly bitter and seems to be more of a west coast style. All of the appetizers I tried were good; my only complaint is that the hush puppies and the toasted bread that came with my pork belly were a bit overdone. The pizza I had was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is great too. Service was a bit on the slow side but it was also very busy. The improvements they've made since opening are impressive and I'll definitely be returning.

Update June 2020 - ate here again a few weeks ago with my wife. Her pizza was great - no complaints for sure. As for my Taco Salad - ouch. It was literally a meal that could have been made in a dorm room. Meat was way over cooked and there was absolutely no flavour. As for that sauce (thousand Island?!?!) Just poured over in with no care or presentation. Certainly won't be going back for a while. Very disappointed. Pizza and beers seem to be the way to go here. New menus are way too busy - eyes dart all over the place with so many icons, arrows and colors. Older review last year - My wife and I went to this restaurant tonight. Great spot. Great atmosphere. Started with the spinach dip platter (great for sharing) I had the flank steak and my wife had one of the wood fire oven pizzas. Great presentation. Had some churros for dessert. Great meal. Saw other meals and apps go by that looked pretty delicious as well. Not sure if there is a bad choice. Also, they make their own beer on site ????????????

Hands down the worst restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. Our order took an hour and fifteen minutes to come, and when it did arrive it looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for half an hour. To top it off, 2 out of the 4 dishes we ordered were wrong. The salad had dressing even though we said no dressing, and the pasta had mushrooms even though we asked for no mushrooms. They picked out the mushrooms and gave the plate back. The fish was extremely dry and the vegetables were burnt. The « butter chicken » was a tiny bowl of shredded chicken in a bland sauce (that tasted nothing like butter chicken) and sour cream on the side (what?!). Even the baguette served with our cheese board was burnt. This is the only photo I took.

I haven't been to Rustico yet because they don't value my time enough to take a reservation. There are very few restaurants anywhere worth standing in line for a seat, and there are so many other great choices you can book ahead. On the positive side, once Harvest is over and they start taking reservations, they should have worked out the new-kid-on-the-block kinks.

First time. Loved it! Wonderful atmosphere and deco. Food was delicious & excellent service! The following may seem trivial but I am a former server so these things stuck out: they have excellent napkins, an extra awesome touch with the bill (I'll leave that for you to discover), the chalk boards were clean and writing was on point, and,finally, the upstairs is fantastic with huge booths, easily seating larger parties. I will be back!

I really liked our waitress. She was friendly and attentive. The food was well presented. The atmosphere was noisy (expected for a new place) but really quite beautiful. Now the cons. I'd ordered the pansy rosé sparkling wine. It was not sparkling in the slightest, and had obviously been open for some time. The portions were absolutely tiny. We ordered the NB Meats and Cheese for a starter. It came with about 10 quarter sized slices of a cured meat, a tablespoon of herbed goat cheese, and two tablespoons of other soft cheeses. It tasted good, but not $16 per portion good. I ordered flank steak and marrow (bavette) and it was cooked to my specifications, but had no real flavor or seasoning except for the paraley/cilantro on top. It was a very small cut, though of good quality, and was woefully overpriced. My boyfriend ordered pizza, their Margareta. It looked like it would be a good size, but... It was paper thin. You couldn't even pick it up, it was so thin. The sauce and toppings were almost non existent. All in all? I was very disappointed. For being a restaurant that's trying to make their wood fired pizza their highlighted feature, theirs was pretty awful. And as much as I'd like to chalk up the food quality merely to the newness of the location and staff? It was too disappointing even for that. I really hope that they pull their food quality together, because the location and staff were worth revisiting, but the food definitely isn't.

Started with the spinach and ricotta dip, which was excellent with the homemade bread, but I didn't expect the crust on my wood-fired pizza to be "flaccid"-- I ended up rolling my pizza slice up (tip to crust, like a cigar) so my toppings didn't fall off. Good flavour, but I'm not sold on the pizza. Maybe steak or a burger next time.

The nuts and olives were both excellent sharable snacks. Nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Very nicely prepared pizzas - puffy, bubbly crust and good amount of toppings. The large tables upstairs make it a tad awkward for the server to speak and move around; it's very loud too. Few hiccups during service as the staff the night we visited was quite inexperienced. (I trust this will get better as time goes on)

We had a fantastic late night dinner here at RustiCo. I was excited about the menu but was wondering about the comments re. noise. We were seated right away upstairs and as two big parties had just left, we had the "loft" to ourselves along with a terrific server named Laura. She was friendly, helpful and made great suggestions for food choices. The Caesar salad was fantastic - the almost "jerk" bacon cubes were delicious! The pizza was great, though the regular was a bit smaller than we had anticipated. That said, it was delicious and we were pleasantly full. Their local beer selection was terrific. I would return and recommend! Next time I'd go for the donair pizza and/or a burger!

Tried Rustico for the second day in a row cause I liked it so much the first day, I thought I'd try a different pizza but it just wasn't up to par today. My girlfriends and my pizzas were both burnt unfortunately, great first experience, second experience wasn't so great, fries are always good though!

service is friendly but very slow. waited 20 minutes just to get our first drinks, my glass was empty while we were eating, and we ordered more wine from 2 different servers which eventually came 20 minutes after we were done eating. food took forever. the special, chicken confit, was very good. My wife had the house salad with chicken, and the grilled chicken came cold, like someone had warmed it up and then it sat around waiting on a counter before being served. the cheese dip appetizer was pretty good.

My main negative was that we asked to substitute the fries with sweet potatoes fries and we're told they would but we'd be charged the regular full price for them since they are on the menu by themselves. Since it was gonna cost the same I just ordered them on the side.

Had the chicken alfredo. Flavourless, needed more sauce to pasta ratio (very dry) and chicken wasn’t well seasoned. Waitress was wonderful however considering how loud and busy it was in there (raptors game) she did her best to accommodate us. I’ll give them another chance and try the wood oven pizza next time.

The ambience was pretty good the decor was also nice ; however the food was not very good. I think they tried making high end quality dishes but failed miserably. I went out with my friends order the margarita pizza and paella which did not fall under the their definitions. Margarita pizza is suppsoed to have a fresh smooth and tangy sauce but this pizza had a can tomato sauce with dieced tomato and the paella had no saffron which is a cruial elemant of the dish. Also thier drinks were not well made either, the ratios were off. All in all being from a large food culture , this restuarant fails the quality test, however their staff and atmosphere were well represented.

The appetizer I chose (keeba) was $13 before tax. I was willing to give it a try especially at the recommendation from our server. The portions were ok (5 bite sized beef eggrolls essentially with a white colored dipping sauce) and I would have been happy with the price but unfortunately I felt the dish was rather bland. It felt under seasoned by a fair amount. I even tried adding chili oil to the dipping sauce and I couldn't tell that any flavors had changed. The chili oil for the pizza (brought to the table for another patron) simply tasted like a neutral cooking oil. My companion seemed to enjoy his dish though. The service was excellent, friendly and thorough.

I Generally like Mexicali Rosas. We where able to reserve a room for roughly 20 people. We received good service and beer and food at a reasonable price. On plate I would not recommend would be the burito. It was covered with a sauce that looked and tasted like pure tomato paste. I will definitely look for a different plate next time.

I understand there are many challenges during this time and restaurants are being forced to adapt, however this evening was an appalling experience. Upon entering we were asked to wait on the patio for a table to become available inside. We were told it would be about 10-30 minutes. It was very chilly but we agreed. We ordered drinks and appetizers while we waited. The server did bring us blankets (which were dirty), and a propane heater (which ran out of fuel). After an hour we asked our waitress when our table would be ready and were told we weren't on a list for a table inside. The manager came over and apologized by shifting the blame on the 'new girl' who greeted us. Blaming the staff is a pathetic way to deal with the problems that had occured. Our waitress then came and told us there was a table available. We got our drinks and proceeded inside only to be told, oops there is no table. A few other minor things took place that just added to the calamity of the evening. The only redeeming part of the experience was the food. It was hot, flavourful and came quickly.

In the fall and winter of 2020 found Rustico on Door Dash and was amazed by the speed, the quality, the presentation, and the amount of food in a serving. Ordered more times than I would like to admit, even into the spring still great service and food. Went on Tuesay for take out lunch and wow what a difference. The service still good, the quality not so bad, the fish seem to have lost some flavor. But the most disappointing was the presentation and amount of food. For what you spend on a half and half I expect more fries than 15 and the cabbage slaw pile of whatever, while a bigger amount than my sad fries, was looking like it was dropped from 10 feet high and sopping in sauce. Seems the emphasis is on that patio and beer. Well cheers to you Rustico but someone else will get my money now I guess.

I came in with low expectations because I don't like being disappointed. I ordered the chilli because you can't mess up chilli. To my surprise.....I know soldiers is Afghanistan who wouldn't trade for their ration pack for this chilli. I would assume someone dropped the whole premixed spice pouch in the chilli by accident, and then forgot to stir it. I guess I just don't have the taste for chunks of ground beef with no flavor on the inside. The salad was also not great, and every order takes ages to come.

It was not busy when we were there yet an hour passed before our appetizer order was taken, and each drink took 30-45mins, and food about 45-60mins. It felt like our waitress had forgotten about us since she didn't check in often but she was nice when she would bring us our items. I had to eat my meal with no drink, and others in our group did the same. The food was good/okay but the price just can't be justified considering the quality & time it took to receive. The drinks were not great & definitely overpriced for the same reason. I wouldn't reccommended this place although the staff were really friendly when we interacted!

My son and I sat down for supper here tonight and he pointed out a mouse running across the floor in the adjacent booth. We told the waiter and he asked us if we wanted to sit in the dining room so he moved us. From where we were sitting I could see into the kitchen where I saw two more mice, one on the floor between the wall and some cupboards and another on a kitchen shelf. There was food, specifically chips and food baskets on the floor in the kitchen. I again told the waiter about the mice I could see in the kitchen and he didn't seem to show any concern. When the food came to our table, I of course had lost my appetite at this point. Did I mention we were billed for the entire meal?? Mind you he did give us three coupons to come back for free margaritas. I will never go back to this restaurant and I'm less than impressed with how it was handled and will be reporting this.

Had a fantastic time at Rustico Friday night. Food was delicious, drink selection was everything we could ask for and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Staff was incredibly nice and took extra time to make our son feel welcome. We will be back. It was also cheaper then going to the big franchise establishments. Thanks for opening another great locally owned restaurant. We look forward to many Friday nights there.

Went to RustiCo for #YFCTacoBattle and wasn't disappointed. All 3 styles of tacos, with different sides including sweet potato waffle fries and truffle parietal fries, were delicious! And if you like ginger and haven't tried their Sour Gingerman beer cocktail (Kolsch + gin + lime juice + ginger) it is *so good*! Service by Brooke was exceptional. Plastic barriers between tables is surely a challenge townorn around, but Brooke made it look easy, and I felt comfortable and safe with the protocols they have in place for dine-in. Thank you!

I honestly don't know what is going on in the reviews over at this restaurants facebook page because the reviews there do not reflect reality at all (are friends and family flooding that page?). My wife and I like to go out to restaurants and we have been to many around the world so we feel we have a pretty good way to compare and contrast. We have been to this restaurant twice. The first evening we sat around for 2 hours without any food, Eventually we called the manager who admittedly approached the situation superbly. He basically said that there had been a mix up in the kitchen so they would allow the drinks that we had to be on the house. This was a well executed response. Unfortunately we were informed that the meal would be at least another 45 minutes (and we had already waited 2 hours) so we opted to simply leave and go elsewhere (we were starved). This review however is not based of that first experience. I can fully appreciate that this is a new restaurant and they would have some bugs to work out. Plus, the manager dealt with the situation perfectly in my estimation. This review is based off our second experience. This time we did get our food (pizza) and it was terrible. I mean literally the pizza is terrible. The crust is soggy, doughy and paper thin. The sauce is bland and the toppings are almost non existent. They also messed up my order and without going into specifics, the managers response this time was downright bizarre. Regardless of it all, this review is based solely on the food. Honestly the pizza was awful (we ordered 4 of them) and each one of them was not just bad...we are talking terrible here. If I could give a positive note I would say the atmosphere is fresh for Fredericton. So perhaps they might iron things out and settle into a groove and I hope they do. But I can't help but ask myself...what do they want this place to be? A cocktail bar? A brewery? A restaurant? A pizza joint? A pick up bar? If they want to be known for their food...they are seriously going to struggle based off what we tasted. Let's say we will not be back for the food but maybe just to sit around the neat atmosphere and have a drink.

We've experienced RustiCo both in the winter and the summer. Their dining room is gorgeous and cozy in the cold months, and their patio is open and inviting in the summer! (Best of both worlds!) We've loved all their apps we've ordered, their pizza was delicious and any burgers we've ordered have been some of the best in the city! Not to mention their hand cut fries were PERFECTION. Our servers have always been attentive and extremely polite and the food has come in the perfect amount of time to allow us to enjoy the atmosphere but not leave us hungry! Highly recommend RustiCo, we do not drink and we throughly enjoy all of our experiences here! But if you do drink (especially beer!) it seems like you'd love it even more!! The idea of ordering beer that was brewed onsite is extremely cool! Definitely try this place out if you're looking to dine out in Freddy, they have a huge menu that would suit anyone!

OK se we love this place for the Fajita's and margaritas and lovely senorita who was, then wasn't now is the manager again. We drove from PEI for Valentine's Day one year because we love the food and service - OK we had other reasons but we were excited to be there. When you can eat well and feel happy afterwards, what else is there?

First the food was delicious, but I was going there craving there Filet mignon and they were out of it. It was very cool and the restaurant. I had to keep my jacket and most of the people around also had there jacket. The waitress was awesome!

The atmosphere is pretty nice, but the food is not that good and overpriced. I'll probably never go again or recomend it to anybody. Pizza was quite mediocre, tomatoes were bland and felt iffy in terms of quality, dough was undercooked a little, and overall didn't have anything interesting about it. I just had a Margherita pizza(14$), which is sauce, cheese, Basil, and olive oil. I've had amazing Margherita pizzas before and it's one of my favorite foods in the world, but this one was not comparable. The other foods all seem expensive (avg 30$) without actually offering anything special. My friend got the scallop and chorizo paella, which was 30$. It was pretty good, but it was small and not worth 30$ in terms of flavor. I'm not even sure it had saffron (or at least good saffron), which is usually one of the expensive ingredients. Sure scallop is expensive, but those felt like a lazy way to make the dish expensive . The cocktails were over diluted and tasted like water. The beers are good, but there's nothing new. Pretty much every other Fredericton restaurant has a nice selection of local craft beer. The staff were all pretty nice. It was a bit slow, but that's because it was only the third day of being opened, so that's not part of my rating. The decor is really nice. The music was a bit odd for what the place was trying to achieve, and it felt like it was just adding useless noise.

Only had drinks on the date I attended. Staff was great to deal with and the food being served to other patrons appeared appetizing. I had the Craft beer brewed at the facility and enjoyed it. Speciality appears to be the pizza. Would return and try the pizza in the future.

The food was good, but the service was terrible. We were offered complimentary chips and salsa, but it was never brought to us, we asked for water when we got there but didn't get any until the waitress brought us our meals and she never returned to refill our glasses.
