We always try to stop at Pentage when we're in Penticton. They consistently have good quality and interesting wines. Their Syrah is one of our favourites!
A great start to our wine tour. Excellent wines at a great value. Must see vineyards and facilities. highly recommended
Cannot say enough about this absolutely spectacular boutique winery. Paul and Julie are incredible hosts and their wines are absolutely spectacular. The views are stunning and you cannot miss this winery!!!! Absolutely amazing!!!
In time will be more consistent
Great spot and great wines!
Julie was lovely as she poured some amazing wines. Listened to what I like and suggested some lovely wines. Gorgeous drive to the winery. Stunning views from the property. Beautiful wine tasting room. Elegant woman who poured wine in an elegant tasting room.
Great views, cool breeze, nice people, and good wine. If you are into that kind of thing.
It's an excellent option. Good wine and the view It's amazing
Phenomenal wines. The location is also just stunning. We were lucky to get there when it was quiet, so we got to chat lots and learn more. Definitely worth stopping at, and brining home a bunch of tasty wines from!
Absolutely stunning and some of the best wine I have ever had! I cannot say enough great things about this winery! The owners are friendly, the views are out of this world, and they have adorable doggies who are cute and cuddly as well :) Amazing place!
Boutique winery with award winning and premium wines! The owners, Paul and Julie, age their wines which I found out most wineries do not do this, as it takes up space and is costly to the business. This is ideal for folks, like us, live in a condo, as we don't have the space to age the wines ourselves. So technically, Pentage Winery does it for us, which is a bonus! Another bonus, is the quality of their wines. They've received numerous awards and recognitions for their wines and they all taste amazing. We enjoyed several samples of their reds, whites and roses. We also enjoyed a private tour of their rock cellar, which was spectacular - a true natural wonder and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area! We booked a private tour in advance, as we realized most wineries request this and it was well worth it. The owner escorted us through their natural rock wine cellar explaining the details of their wine making processes. In addition, we also toured their gorgeous vineyard; the views of Skaha Lake were stunning. It was a clear summer day so we got some great photos. The owners were very kind and welcoming. We didn't know their winery / picnic area was dog friendly so we will be back next year with our dog! Pentage Winery is a hidden gem with some many beautiful and natural features - majestic views, natural rock wine cellar and we also so a few wildlife on the way up. Their wine - hands down - amazing! We ended up joining their wine club and buying a case of wine to enjoy at home with friends and family. We will tour their winery again next year and look forward to bringing our dog ;-)
We did a wine tasting today at Pentage at it was fabulous! The ladies there are absolutely lovely and they have some amazing wines - the Pinot Noir was a particular favourite! Their COVID protocols are super thorough and safe yet they were so warm and gave us such a great experience today. We will definitely be back on every Okanagan trip
I had an amazing and memorable time at Pentâge Winery. I loved that it was family run and operated. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. Their wines are amazing! I was impressed with their rare varietals, as not many wineries in the region grow these unique grapes. I was also excited to learn that they age most of their red wines and a select few of their whites, as I live in the city and have limited space to age my own wines properly. All of their wine making is done in a stunning 5,000 sq.ft. rock cave overlooking Skaha lake. It is one of the top premium boutique wineries in the region and I highly recommend you book a private tour and have a picnic there!
A beautiful wine tasting room with a matching view. Wine tastings are $5 per person. The staff is friendly.
We moved to Penticton last year and after visiting many wineries stumbled upon Pentage. Their Pinot Gris, Rose and Fizz Blanc won me over and during Covid being a member of the wine club is very convenient. ???? We take all our visitors to Pentage and everyone raves about the wine and leaves with a selection of favorites. Be sure to check out this lovely winery for a tasting and picnic during wine season in the sunny Okanagan. Thanks Paul, Julie and Leigh-Anne ❤
I highly recommend a visit to Pentage Winery. Our tour was very informative, the views spectacular, and the wine, superb!! Thanks Paul!!
Amazing view and wine
Gorgeous winery
Every wine we tasted - outstanding
I've been going here for a number of years in a row now. Every single visit has me experiencing great, diverse wines paired with exceptionally friendly service.
Great experience and wine.
We had a picnic with our five kids and had an awesome experience. The staff is very friendly and make sure you say hi to Max (family dog). Our kids wanted to take him home :0)
Good wine. The owner was so nice to us. Even let us click some pictures on his private property. Thanks for that big guy ????????
Top shelf! These wines, the setting and the wine cave are all a must see experience. Delicious, full-bodied, made with passion! Great people too ????
Over the past couple years, we have really enjoyed the wines from Pentage. This year it has been hard to find while we try to limit trips to the stores. We placed our first order online recently and (even though we live in Langley) the order arrived on our doorstep the very next morning. Complete, proper, and as always...some of the best Wine available. Period. Keep up the amazing work!! Great service, great product!
I half-expected that pinging noise from an X-Box as we approached Pentage, an accomplishment for even reaching the destination. Pentage’s offers, in my opinion, the best first impression leading up to its location. To reach said destination, one must travel down single-lane roads until reaching a push button deer-proof gate (or some other animal-proof…I don’t know what else is out there…umm…squirrels?). I love those—the gates—like we’re about to meet Canadian royalty. Afterward, you must roll down a very precarious hill and possess an impressive turning radius to park. I’m an automotive fanatic, so I loved it. Where the previously visited Painted Rock was a climb, Pentage was a descent, so even though close by, there is a significant elevation difference. My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited sixty wineries. You can follow our various locations with this disclaimer. That’s sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired. Alas, none of those were from Pentage. It’s not bad wine—just not very memorable, which is a damn shame because the location was so much fun to reach and the staff was delightful. The winery certain has personality though not highlighting the type of budget of the previously visited Painted Rock. But with Painted Rock, the location was an antiseptic despite its beauty. Pentage is not as breathtaking but is welcoming, more due to the staff than anything else; it’s a surprising contrast. Perhaps Painted Rock can be assumed to be the giant overlord looming over all those below while Pentage is plucky underdog earning support from the masses. I’m sure that’s it. That’s why I liked it more than Painted Rock…just a damn shame I didn’t care for the wine. And yet, as we approach our second wine trip to the area, Pentage is back on that list…because I want to take that drive again. And this time, it’ll be with an SUV, so that’ll be fun.
Love this winery in Penticton, BC. We have been visiting Pentage for about 3 years when on our yearly vacation. Love the views, atmosphere and the owners/staff and of course THE WINE. We usually have to order 1-2 times for home delivery as we can't stop drinking the wine, it's that good. The delivery service is awesome and I get it to my door in the Vancouver lower mainland about 2-3 days after ordering. We can't say enough good things. If you can't visit, order online for delivery, but if you are in the Okanagan drop in for a visit and tasting, you will be glad you did.
Great people!
Great wines, great staff.
Premium Wines and premium views! We LOVED the rock cave cellar. Thank you Paul and Julie - we look forward to coming back next summer.
Lovely local family owned winery, the lady who did our tasting was so personable and friendly! We really enjoyed all the wines and thankful they accommodated us on short notice. Didn't know what to expect but actually preferred this experience to the nearby 'fancy' less friendly wineries.
Wonderful place, wonderful owners. Very gracious, down to earth and accommodating. Highly recommend.
Long time fans... it was 2004 when we first visited the winery, and bought 2 bottles of their Sauvignon Blanc from the kitchen door after driving up the switchback road from lakeside. Before long, it was the half of the garage that Paul was not using to work on his race car, that served as the sales area. And now, there is the lovely tasting room, tended to by Julie, the better half of the partnership. The winery is only slightly off the main road of Skaha Lake Eastside, and well worth the drive. We've probably bought more from Pentâge this year that any other winery. Their list of labels is extensive. If you can't find wines here that you love, you're not a wine-lover!
An interesting retail experience. My wife & I went out of our way on our road trip because they make some of our absolute favourite whites. However; they would not let us try the wines we were willing to buy cases of because "they weren't opening them that day". When asked when they were opening them, we were told to call. We love their whites. We were prepared to spend money. They were completely disinterested. We'll be finding another place to spend our money.
Paul and Julie make some of the best wine in BC, set on a beautiful bluff. Also check out their "wine cave". A must visit (and must drink).
Amazing wine, owners and location. The only place, I found, in the valley selling actual vintage wine. Excellent value.
Nice
Loved their Pentage
Wonderful host, Julie. Very informative, amazing wine cellar. Well worth the trip, highly recommended, bought some great tasting wine.
Love this winery! My mom and I stop here every year to stock up on delicious wine. The owners are so friendly and very knowledgeable. With beautiful views and delicious wine, this is a must visit winery!
Great wine, amazing curators, and stunning views. A must visit if you're in the area!
Absolutely splendid wine ... could not recommend more!!! I loved their winery more than others we went to (including painted rock!!) You WILL NOT be sorry coming here and want to buy everything! Their port is especially delicious- recommend trying!
Great place. Wines were all very good with a generous and diverse wine tasting from a friendly host (who happened to be one of the duo that own the winery). Incredible views from the property and quite the incredible drive to get here (all part of the fun). Highly recommended and our favorite winery so far!
Great wines and a wonderfully engaging proprietor!
A premium and boutique winery we will visit again next year. We organized a private tour in advance of the long weekend, as we wanted to tour their natural rock wine cellar, which was amazing! The rock cellar is made from natural occurring granite - this creates the optimum temperature for making wines. One of the owners, Paul, toured us around the natural rock wine cellar and the vineyard for over one hour teaching us on their wine making techniques they use, as well as explaining the grapes they grow. He told us they grow approximately 10 unique varietals on their property, which is a special addition to their already great wine selection. After the tour we did a wine tasting on the patio and picnic are off their tasting room. The views from the picnic area, patio and tasting room have stunning views of Skaha Lake. We enjoy many different wines; our favorite was the bubbly! We ended up buying a case to enjoy. Also, we didn't realize that we could have brought our dog with us, as some wineries aren't pet/dog friendly. So next year we will bring our dog- this is a bonus for pet owners, like us! Their tasting room sells snacks like cheese, crackers and cured meats. We bought a few to enjoy and they also said we were welcome to bring our own picnic next time - nice! Driving to the winery was so peaceful and beautiful; we had to take a windy country road. It narrowed off a bit as we approached the entrance gates to Pentage Winery - it was like driving through the country roads in Europe. We loved how "off the beaten path" it felt and looked, as well as how down-to-earth the owners, Paul and Julie, were. Parking is free and directly located in front of the tasting room. I also noticed there were no stairs into the tasting room; so definitely wheelchair accessible. Pentage Winery is on the top of our list for wine tours next year. Such a wonderful boutique winery! Thank you Paul and Julie - we look forward to seeing you next year.
Everyone should visit this winery. The wines are excellent, the views are spectacular, and the story is not to be missed. Buy a bottle and sit on the deck and enjoy the fantastic view. I live here and will be back.
Good wine! Nice view and nice to have dogs around.
Really friendly, enjoyed our visit there :)
I born and rise in a famous French wine region and I was amazed and very pleased to meet Paul and Julie. 20 species of grapes grow there, they really make wines. You dont buy there a variety of grape, you purchase signature wine which reflects, their wonderful attention to details. Highly recommended!
The owners Paul and Julie make incredible, varied and complex wines. The location is beautiful, the atmosphere - friendly and relaxed. Cannot wait to come back!
They have a delicious Cabernet Franc and Pinot Gris. The road is a little narrow to get here but well worth it. They have a nice picnic area with shade and a view!
Very friendly and fun, enjoyed ourselves
