Great experience and great wine.????
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this little winery. The view was idyllic, the red wines were delicious, and our host was very personable. Our favorite was the Syrah, so we took a bottle home. Perfection.
Beautiful views. Amazing laid back but classy vibes. The staff here are very accommodating and will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your time visiting
Great pinot!
My girlfriend and I had the best time here. The wine was fantastic, our wine host Paul was pleasant, charming, and knowledgeable, and the property is stunning. This is a must do winery and quickly became our favorite winery in the Sonoma/Napa area. Thank you Cuvaison team
Very beautiful and quiet with shaded outdoor seating. The chardonnays were delightful. (Bathrooms were also very clean)
The best tasting I've ever experienced.
Excellent experience
The tasting room at Cuvaison in the Carneros is beautiful. With floor to ceiling windows that overlook the vineyards, the tasting room is a fantastic showcase for their wines. My favorites: Brandelin Vineyards Bootleg Cabernet Sauvignon and the ATS Chardonnay. Frankly though, it's the only winery where I've tasted several wines and liked every single one.
Incredible wines and incredible hosts. Very knowledgeable. Relaxed atmosphere with great vibe
Favorite place in Napa
What a treat! Amazing view and laid back atmosphere. Rick was wonderful. Perfect first stop on our first trip to the Valley! The rosé and Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot were divine!
Great wines. Amazing location.
A great little place to taste, the staff is always friendly. There are also picnic tables out front to eat. It's right on the Silverado Trail, which can be good and bad (easy to get to, but cars driving by while you're eating!)
Why would I pay more for a tasting for 2 people than I would for a bottle without knowing if I even like the wine THEY choose to serve for the tasting? Pass. I feel that if you trust the quality of the wine, you don’t need to have tastings by appointment only for a substantial fee, and will sell more wine and gain more club members.
Decent wine, although a little expensive. Nice tasting room.
The most relaxing, beautiful place in the valley. Couldn’t have a better memory of this place.
Gorgeous setting, great wine and solid people. What more can you ask for.
Beautiful spot just a Stones throw from the beaten path. Lovely wines. Pleasant and professional staff.
One of most beautiful settings for wine tasting. I recommend tasting the whites. Beautiful patio tasting with panoramic views of the vineyards. You must make an appointment ahead for tasting, take a picnic lunch and take in the spectacular view.
Very relaxed, beautiful setting, amazing wines. What else can you ask for?
Great views, great wine, Leslie made us feel like family and had great recommendations. My favorite tasting from my weekend in Napa.
Beautiful highly scored wine, amazing views & incredible modern ambiance
The wine here was fantastic but it definitely has more of a modern tasting room vibe. I would love to come back to actually enjoy the weather outside because the inside felt a little sterile. But back to the wine- so good that I even bought a bottle to take home with me!
This was our first stop on our last day in Napa. Originally it wasn't on our list of places but I'm glad we stopped here. The wines were very good and the winery itself was really nice. The gentleman that gave us our wine tasting was entertaining and very knowledgeable.
Johnny was unwilling to accommodate us while we came from Savannah Ga and arrived at 4:45 with a 5:00 closure. We use to love the Couvaison Chardonnay. But now! Phew, I wouldn’t let my dog drink it. This was a looser!
The staff is so helpful and so friendly.
(Translated) Top wines. (Original) Spitzenweine.
Their tasting room was incredible and overlooked their vineyards! Great wine also, their red lineup was one of my favorites.
Walked over from Domain Carneros and couldn’t have been happier. Gorgeous property with amazing wines. We joined the wine club. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful winery with a great view, friendly staff and nice wine! Would definitely come back to spend a bit more time
Cosy winery with no food but we felt we were in a privste tour.
Great experience at this location, equally on the wine part but also the human relationships.
They don't disappoint! Every one of their wines is fantastic. Friendly, relaxing and well knowledged!
Phil personally took care of our group. Educated us on the estate and the wines with a professional and entertaining delivery. The Kite Tail Chardonnay is above and beyond. Not to mention the views..
Beautiful, modern place. Very classy presentation of excellent Pinot noir.
Amazing experience! The views are absolutely beautiful, service was on point and wine was just delicious. Our server was Rick and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you!
Highly reccomend making a stop here, if you’re in Napa. My fiancé and I started our morning in Napa here.. we sat outside and over looked the vinerayds while tasting the wines Cuvaison has to offer. The service was fabulous. As we tasted wine we were educated and able to watch the fog clear out over the beautiful roaring hills of Napa. we loved it so much we joined their wine club!! If you’re looking to relax and taste wine on a beautiful estate you’re in for a treat!
Modern decour with ceiling to floor windows for a great view to their gorgeous scenery. $25pp for 4 tastings, however they will usually add on 1-2 extra tastings. Service is very good with full explanations of the wine.
We had a 5 person group who showed up unannounced (no reservations) and were welcomed with open arms. We had an incredible time. Leslie was terrific. She truly made the experience memorable.
Lovely winery with great views. Their tasting room is beautiful. We actually did not have a reservation but one of us is a club member and we got seated. Our pourer is knowledgeable and friendly. I was told they are known more for their chardonnay but my favorite pour was the Pinot noir. Living in the bay area definitely has its advantages. We can visit the wine country in the off season when it is not too crowded or full of tourists.
Cuvaison is a beautiful winery, serves delicious wines and has a phenomenal staff! We love being members there as they treat everyone like Kingsv& Queems!
A modern delight with exceptional wine and service!
Fantastic experience. Wonderful tasting.
Awful experience. The receptionist was beyond snooty. I’m amazed they have people like that working there. Avoid if you want a relaxed/chill atmosphere.
Absolutely gorgeous. We went with the caviar tasting because why not. Rishann was fabulous. It was a very personalized experience. We sat outside in perfect weather with great views of the vineyards. We tried some amazing wines that paired well with our small bites. I would highly recommend this as a stop on your Napa tour! They are dog friendly as well!
Our party showed up for Happy Hour around 4:15 hoping to get a table. Upon our walk in, the hostess/wine pourer would not seat us, claiming that there were no open seats, when there clearly were many. I asked, if anyone was projected to be done soon, and she claimed that every party seated just sat down..and would “be there for awhile.” However, we saw that there were many open tables AND we saw multiple parties leave while we waited for our transportation to an alternative winery. The rudeness, bluntness, and unhelpful disposition that we experienced is unrepresentative of Napa Culture and paints a poor reflection of the region’s hospitality.
I love the wines, th view, and the people!
Eric made our time there a great tasting experience. He poured us some amazing wines. Just the right mix of conversation. We ended up buying 10 bottles of some truly great wines.
Had a wonderful tasting experience with Leslie at the helm. She’s amazingly knowledgable, and funny. Wines were all delicious. Pinot’s were our favorite. Looking forward to another visit!
I have no idea how so many could have rated this place so highly. I rarely do negative reviews but this one deserves special excemption. $20 for a tasting of 4 of the worst wines I have come across in California. There are so many far, far better wines at so much better prices. Do not waste your time.
Beautiful winery and great wine. Some of the most amazing views of Napa/Sonoma. The Pinot Noir and the Syrah on the tasting menu have a beautiful aroma. My only gripe is you cannot buy and open the bottle at the winery.
You’d be paying for the view (mostly). The wines were ok, nothing memorable, the whites were too sweet and sour for us. Pinot was eh. Zinfandel and Syrah were decent. Service was not good, he wasn’t knowledgeable so we didn’t learn much from him. He also was too busy dealing with multiple tables and running around to be able to provide each table a decent experience. They only have tasting, no tour, so yea, you’re paying for the view and relatively nice tasting room and balcony.
Beautiful scenery and patio but unfortunately we had terrible service. The server forgot about us, it was half hour between tastings. It wasnt busy and I understand its more of a relaxed atmosphere in Napa but by the end he forgot about us and I had to remind him we were still around. The wines were just ok with each one described as "beautiful"... no real descriptions for each tasting. We come to Napa for the experience so if experience is important to you then skip this one
Great place great wine. You do need an appointment
Quite a disappointing experience. I am a member of the wine club and had a friend in town from out of state. Made a reservation for wine tasting as directed. Customer service was so very poor that we left after one wine tasting. This is how wine club members are treated?! Where do I go to cancel?
The wines are very good indeed. Good Color, Very unique flavor and amazing aroma. Visiting the winery is definitely worthy is you are driving thru Sonoma-Napa Wine Country. The wine tasting experience is very personalized, with amazing-deep explanation about the process of the production of the wine and the history of the house. It's a 4 round, $20 dollars worth of 4 different types of grapes (half a glass). The view is one of the best landscapes in the whole Carneros region. The costumer service was fair though, nothing great. They are very proud people, but I guess that's fitting of a boutique winery. Actually after the tasting is done they become salesmen. They try to get you into the club and try to sell you products. I have to say that it took me second thoughts to get into the club, I was already in the car ready to go away from these proud fellows, when I took a deep breath and decided that they wine was worth the try. So now I belong to their club. Which got me a couple of free fine glasses from the house. They have 5 shipping a year, a total of 12 bottles a year, of seasonal wines. I fell in love with the aroma of their Pinot Noir and the Chardonnay. Negatives. - People are almost arrogant. - The place is smoke free. So If you are a smoker (as I am) do not even ask, they will get offended. - They do not allow you to bring any kind of food into the place. Not even if you want to complement your experience with some cheese. Oh, and they do not have food for sell.
Our group from The Classic Café had the pleasure of touring the winery and doing an extended wine tasting with Steve Richards, National Sales Manager. He provided us with an amazing tour of the vineyards and winery and filled us in on the history and successes of the winery, including Brandlin on Mount Veeder. We had a wonderful and unforgettable time with Steve with the bonus of a smoked brisket meal that he personally prepared and served under the Oak Grove in the middle of the Brandlin vineyard. Cuvaison has both great wines and great people. Go there and the experience!
I think this is the coolest tasting rooms I have been too. They are a completely sustainable winery that makes some great wine. The tasting room over looks the pond and vineyards are all around you. Very clean, bright, open and comforting. Sit outside or inside and you will not miss any of the location. If your coming from the south, stop here first, won't be a mistake.
Wonderful experience at Cuvaison. Great mix of wines for tasting, and the charcuterie board was delicious. Service was top notch, with in depth explanations of the stories behind the wines we were tasting (the Andy Warhol connection is real neat!). There’s also a great view from the patio, which makes for some nice photos and a peaceful environment to enjoy the wines. Will definitely be returning in the future.
Beautiful views, nice quiet out of the way winery.
Excellent
5 stars for the beautiful view from their tasting room. 4 stars for the wine, which was decent but not the best we've had in the area. 3 stars for the service, which was lackluster for a non-member experience. They definitely seem to cater more to their club members. With so many other options in wine country, we will probably head elsewhere next time.
This review is not so much about the wine as the tasting room. For the record the wine is fine. The tasting room is nice looking but service is appalling. From snail's pace service to uncomfortably pushy salespeople to endless phone calls for members, the experience just doesn't leave a good impression. Another point is that the wine bottles have been redesigned to feel "luxurious". What this actually means is they are way too heavy and won't fit into a conventional wine fridge. Also it's just a waste of material considering they hold the same amount of liquid.
The view was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Amazing wine tasting experience. Beautiful location and great staff! The guy that served us explained everything with lots of details and he kindly answered the huge amount of questions we had, he was amazing! I think it would be even better if they had some food offer, like cheese for example. Nevertheless, I will repeat the next time I'm in SF for sure.
One of our best tastings, ever! Michelle, our hostess, was informative, funny, and helpful. Adore their wines. The usual tasting center is under renovation, but the temporary set up was just fine.
Modern, sleek, professional wine experience. Excellent formal explanations of wine
We went on the vineyard hike and lunch event and were hosted at the property by Michael. Michael was incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share his experience with us during the 2 hour event. I so appreciated his explanations about microclimates, why some grapes are less successful in certain areas, etc. - he was a wealth of knowledge and had a great sense of humor as well. I highly recommend visiting here!
Stunning.
Nice winery
A lovely, relaxed ambience with vineyards around. The staff is so charming and welcoming. We tasted six wines and bought four of those! A must go place.
Hubs & I came here on Vday, it was our second visit to this winery. Our first time was just as great as the second. One of the reason we love this winery so much is: Paul! He's such an amazing, funny man that we'll make you feel so welcomed! He'll tell you jokes, explain about the wine and the winery and just make you feel at ease. He'll tell you a little about himself and ask about you while pouring your glasses! All the staff here is amazing to be honest... They'll go above and beyond to make you feel special. The winery is modern looking, with great views over the estate. There's a beautiful lake in the front, and sometimes you'll catch a peak at the wildlife there (we saw a wild rabbit jumping around the estate!) Every time we're here we take a bottle or two back with us, because it's one of the best in Napa. We always make sure to visit Cuvaison while in Napa and you should too!
I only had one afternoon to make it up to Napa on my visit to CA and I decided on trying Cuvaison via recommendation. I definitely chose poorly. The gentleman that was our server was not attentive, did not seem very knowledgeable about the wine or much about the estate, either that or he just didn't care about answering my questions, and didn't seem want to be there at all. In fact, I had a better conversation with the host than the person serving us for an hour. When I looked around all of the other servers seemed to be having great conversations with their tables, so I guess I got the short end of the stick. The wine was decent, I wish I would have had the opportunity to try one or two more, but overall pretty good.
Unwelcome experience. We totally understand the situation due to CoVid -19. On June 17th at 11:25am. Receptionist was extremely rude and gave us an attitude as we walked in without a reservation. We have asked if we can make a reservation online, however, she said that she won’t be able to pick up the phone as She is working alone and She is extremely busy. “ extremely busy” there was 2 people inside...we left that place immediately. Not good...:(
Amazing views! Amazing hostess merideth! She was knowledgeable, attentive and kind. The wine here is absolutely exquisite. The sav. Blanc was so great we bought a bottle for $26. The tastings cost $35 for 5 different wines. The location was relaxing and not packed with a lot of people. This place is a must if you like to sit back relax and enjoy some great wine!
