Good prices, service, and flavours
Great place! I've tried brewing beer myself in the past and had too many comical moments to share. It was a doddle making it here and they are very knowledgable. The best part is that the beer tastes great! (Fresh) Which can also be the worst part, depending on how full/empty your glass is. Will be returning, time and again. Also, great present for others: Wine, Cider or Beer.
Friendly and knowledgeable team. Great service.
The very knowledgeable folks at Fermentations make brewing a treat. The beer we brewed tasted great.
Called the store and was spoken to condescendingly. Decided, against better judgement, to go in store and it was even worse. Not only did he not have the item in stock that he claimed he did. But he stood there and told me that I show know how to run my business better. Would never recommend.
Great beer and wine, which holds its own against the higher priced offers in liquor stores. Charles is a magician when it comes to blending wine.
Fermentations makes wonderful wines (and beer). It started as Christmas gift idea 4 years ago, and I've been hooked ever since. Their wines from the grapes are particularly fruity and delicious. Most recently we bottled a Tempranillo/Merlot blend from Spanish grapes they harvested, and it's gorgeous bursting with ripe blueberry and deep cherry. My personal summertime favourite is their Chilean Sauvignon Blanc from grapes, a delicious refreshing food friendly white, with bright citrus and herbaceous aromas. All for a fraction of the cost you'd pay at the liquore store. Go there. You'll be glad that you did.
Good place to buy equipment and parts for home brewing.
I love trying new beer. I love brewing my own beer at home. I also absolutely love going to Fermentations! to have my beer brewed there. I learn something new every time I go in. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Oscar even helped me with an idea for a new recipe today (Milk Chocolate Orange Coffee Porter!) I haven't done the beer school, but I can vouch that I've learned enough from osmosis just by being there that you will learn an immense amount about brewing from that experience. Oh, and they press their own grapes if you're in to that sort of thing. Seriously, go call them right now and get a batch on.
Love this place ...Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. First go was the Cab+...Very good but our second go with the Amarone+ is even better. Will be back soon for summer cider order.
Great staff, friendly atmosphere, great product!
I have been going here for years. I ended up at Fermentations after trying out several other brew your own places and never being quite happy with the quality. Charles and Chris have always need great to work with. Their passion for the product be it beer, wine or one of the many other brews comes through with great results every time. I am happy to recommend this place . Thanks Guys!
Great place!
Not only does Fermentations have the best brew-it-yourself beer you'll find in the city, and best selection (seriously, they'll make almost anything, if you ask for it), but the proprietor, Charles, is a gracious host who will make your time there (mostly spent bottling) completely enjoyable. The quality you get for the price you pay is basically unbeatable, so what do you have to lose?
Possibly the best place to make fantastic wine, beer and cider in the GTA
I didn't realize how fantastic DIY wine and beer could be until I tried making it with Fermentations. Wow! Had a great experience with the staff; Charles you're amazing, talented and very knowledgeable! We made a bock beer then came back to make some delicious red wine - a blend of cab sauv, cab franc and merlot. Absolutely amazing. Our guests are surprised and delighted when we tell them where the wine came from. We will definitely be back for another round soon :)
Love coming to Fermentations! Great atmosphere... everyone very helpful and knowledgeable. I will be coming back as often as I can.
Haven't had the level of customer service and attention in a LONG time that France showed my wife-to-be and I picking out making our wine for our upcoming wedding. She took us through almost the entire selection of wines, allowed us to sample a variety of wines from different years and ultimately led us to select wine then and there. The wine is truly phenomenal and the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to the finished product next year. If you're looking for a place to make your own wine, this is absolutely it.
We love going to fermentation! Nice place to make your own wine
I have been buying my brew supplies from Fermentations for three years now, and while there is one staff member in particular (Greg) who is extremely friendly and helpful, the rest of the customer experience is consistently poor. The owner has treated me with nothing other than condescension and arrogance time and time again (I do not think that he even recognizes me as a repeat customer). My latest experience involved him interrupting a conversation I was having with one employee by literally yelling 'someone get the phone--and there is a storefront full of customers!'--and silly me the whole time thinking that I was a customer as well... This caused the individual helping me to have to leave in the middle of discussing the sale. When he did ask if anyone at the front needed help, it was clear that nobody needed immediate assistance. While waiting in line, thinking that this was what the store owner wanted, he in fact stood there offering me no help, or a chance to complete the transaction that he rudely interrupted. Upon recognizing another customer that he knew, he was nothing but cordial and proceeded to call him to the counter to have a friendly conversation--right in front of me, a customer who had been waiting for the service he interrupted. I go back because for the proximity, they have a good amount of quality supplies, but I grow weary of being treated as a second-tier customer and know that I would go elsewhere in a heartbeat if a competitor offered comparable services. My advice is to call and see if Greg is working, and if not, then go in the next time he is.
Dude that runs this shop is a beauty. Great beer. He uses the best products and he's just a super rad dude to learn from. Go in. It's a delightful experience.
The Fermentations team are knowledgeable and passionate about brewing and fermenting. They have an extensive selection of grapes, mead, cider and beer. We also love that they have gluten-free options too!
Great staff, super friendly will explain things to you. Great if you want to save a little $$ on beer but you don't really get to do much yourself. Toss in some packets and they do the rest. You do however have to bottle it yourself.
Beer school was great... The beer we made was amazing
We have been doing wine with Charles since 2012 when we did wine for our wedding. He and his staff are very knowledgeable and always help us pick the perfect wine. Tip: we always get our next case (single or triple!) ordered when we bottle the one before! It’s a great cycle! Thanks for 7 years of great service!
I've been making wine and beer here for over a decade. The staff are great. The wines and beers are always delicious. I doubt they have a peer in Toronto.
Friendly and knowledgeable team. Great service.
Great Service and Excellent Quality! My experience at Fermentations has been a very positive one so far. We bottled our own cider and the quality of the product was superb! Served in in lieu of champagne for NYE and most people were fooled! Charles was very helpful and accommodating and made the experience straight forward. I look forward to returning for more.

Awesome experience making some bubbly for our anniversary
I've bought brewing supplies from here. They are very helpful and friendly. I also brewed some apple cider.
The only beer I will drink. It's a great price and you can get exactly what you want. The staff are professional, experts, and all around great people.

Charles and staff were extremely helpful and hospitable during my first experience brewing beer. Will be returning to make my own wine!
I love this place. So many recipes to choose from, excellent facilities to brew, great staff to help. Highly recommend you go have some fun there.
My first experience bottling my own wine was so easy and pleasant that I immediately put on another batch to do it all again in a few months. Modern, clean, knowledgeable, and so friendly! If you're a regular wine-drinker it's *so* worth it, and not at all intimidating for a beginner. I'm excited to learn more!
Charles is very knowledgeable about wine and I left quite enlightened on the whole process of wine making. He’s also very friendly, and kind, and I couldn’t recommend Fermentations! enough.
Amazing! The Cote du Rhone and Chardonnay were amazing. It was made from real grapes. We also bottle pear cider. Wow! You could taste the pear and we asked for a dry cider which is excellently what we got. We also ordered 2 more bashes of wine and a coffee porter.
Best place in town for wine and beer. High quality craft beer and excellent quality grapemaster wine for much less than LCBO.
Amazing people and experience. If you have any level of knowledge, I encourage you to try them out. My Apex IPA is delicious! They have a love for their craft and great humour.
Great beer at a great price and the people are very friendly.
Been making beer at Fermentations for about 6 years. Tonight, I took part in Wine School. Amazing! Charles really knows his stuff, about both beer and wine, and makes every experience at Fermentations a great one.
The service is OUTSTANDING and the quality of the vino is SUPERB! The staff are knowledgeable. The freshness of the beer to the flavourful wine. My husband and I have tried white wine, red wine as well as beer and have not once been disappointed. We highly recommend Fermentations!
Fun experience and the cider turned out exceptionally!
Just bottled our first batches from fermentations! Great customer service and expert advice. Lots of space to bottle and a cheerful bright atmosphere. It's a nice way to safely get out of the house and safely save money while having high quality wine ????
Great experience!!! They were extremely accommodating and knowledgeable! So many different types of cider, and ours was incredible. Will be back!
Great service, atmosphere and products. Charles et al are a pleasure to deal with
Wonderful staff. Lots of help and guidance about every aspect of being your own beverages. We love the cider for Christmas with the family.

Great place!
These guys are fast. Delicious product.
Awesome experience and quality wine! Charles and his teammate Ronnie made the whole experience so simple and yet so welcoming from the moment you walk through the doors. We tried a Merlot which turned out nicely and have already ordered some others options (Cab Sauv and Rioja). Overall - great experience and wine. The Fermentations team really was something that stood out above all though. Thanks Charles and team.
Being late with a birthday gift for my husband, Fermentations saved the day - who would not want a gift certificate to make the wine, beer, or cider of your choice? And it's the gift that keeps on giving and gives back. It's fun to do, great value for money, and tailorable to your tastes - as my husband wasn't a fan of tannins, Charles suggested a bit more in the way of tempranillo grapes when we made Rioja. The best ever. Always something new to test, new ideas, and good old-fashioned service - what a concept! Barb and John
We have been going to Fermentations for several years making beer and wine. Charles never fails to offer serious value with his combination of imported and local grapes. I have tried many a glass of various wines in the "self brew" class, none of them compare. And as for the LCBO, you'll need to spend three times to compete. Cheers.
Great place. Super nice and knowledgable owner.
Excellent wine, excellent service, a joy to work with all of them. I'll be back. Highly recommended.
Charles and his team are a class act. My brothers and I were in last night to pick up 72 bottles of Spanish wine. From our first visit to our last, Charles was accommodating and willing to take the time to explain the process and answer questions. The wine is fantastic and the price less than half of what one would spend at the LCBO. I highly recommend these guys. You won't be disappointed.
Great wine and fun activity to bottle. I ordered a small batch of Cote du Rhone as a birthday gift/activity without anticipating to become a repeat customer - the wine exceeded expectations and was such a hit amongst family and friends, I'm returning for more! Thanks to Charles for such great service and product!
Love Fermentations! We've been coming here for almost 20 years now. Charles, owner and vintner in chief is knowledgeable and has tailored recipes to our taste. I love a dry Sauvignon Blanc with a citrus finish ... And a good English bitter. Try 'Malternative Facts!' A nod to the current political climate but much, much more palatable. :P
