You must have seen that it reaches an opinions average is quite positive, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may say that the valuation is quite credible. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set scores when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

We had our wedding at Summerhill and would highly recommend it! Nicole & her team accomodated all of our requests and the day went so smoothly- amazing view, delicious food and friendly staff. Thank you!!
Booked a lovely Prime rib dinner at Summerhill Pyramid Winery and it did not disappoint! Rich flavours, tender meat and wonderful service!
Beautiful place, amazing service and excellent food! Will definitely come back when visiting Kelowna.
This is a great spot but when going for a tasting prepare to wait. It is typically busy as it is one of the most popular wineries in the area.
The place is beautiful and the landscape is majestic. The staff and always positive and very friendly and helpful. I would recommend you try their organic apple juice (that was a first for me!) and their margherita pizza is divine. You can also have a wedding there because I got to see one.
It does sound like two locations. Summerhill. Pyramid. One is original, the other not so much. After some research, I concluded that it is not called Summerhill Pyramid. It is called Summerhill, and it is a Pyramid Winery. I honestly don’t know what that meant, and given Summerhill is the only one with the title, I decided to look up their claims. And I need to preface by stating the next five sentences are completely insane. The man behind Summerhill, Stephen Cipe—considering himself a spiritual visionary at "Canada's most visited winery”—attributes the winery’s success to the unique process of utilizing the sacred geometry of their signature pyramid, designed as a perfect scaled replica of the larger one in Giza, to instill their wine with the same positive essense naturally occurring in all life forms. Lacking any ferrous components and placed to face True North, this platonic solid rests on a region devoid of interference energy and is placed on dirt compacted to 100%. This results in the pyramid acting as an interface between positive and negative space-time, a bridge between matter and anti-matter, and becoming the gate through which two realities meet and interact. This is related to Einstein’s theory of relativity, specifically his predictions on the existence tachyons (faster-than-light particles). Time and space are distorted within the pyramid and would most likely explain how the builders of the great pyramids in Egypt were able to employ negative space-time to levitate huge stones and build the pyramids in the first place. And somehow this also make wine taste better. By the way, I was not exaggerating or interpreting implications—most of that above was near verbatim on Summerhill’s website, which I invite you to explore. If that sounds insane to you, congratulations, you’re still a rational human being; you can read on and hopefully be wavered on your decision to visit this winery. If you believed it all reasonable and lucid, be warned, because I’m about to make you very upset. This is an example of data mining pseudoscientific sources and combining them with numerology and astrology along with long debunked theories that serious science left behind a very long time ago in hopes of selling overpriced alcoholic beverages already fighting dubious claims about their benefits. Here’s the uncomplicated truth about humans, we evolved as pattern recognition machines, finding answers in chaos. Our desperation to explain everything when we knew almost nothing gave rise to the mythologies of antiquity. Summerhill attempts to weave confirmation bias, ignorance, and good old-fashioned quackery into a soup of utter nonsense to justify their business. You don’t even have to search long to find verified evidence debunking every single point made on Summerhill’s website. The data they “cite” isn’t even accurate—they list dimensions of the Giza pyramid to justify numerology, but then list incorrect numbers. There’s no doubt the pyramids at Egypt, and other locations are amazing historical monuments. And the designers were intelligent in constructing them. But they didn’t employ magic—they used their brains to solve problems. They are tombs to narcissistic despots, and anything more than that is just a plot point in Stargate. I won’t waste any more of my word budget into the absurdity Summerhill attempts to sermonize. I have issues with their over-priced wine, a result of them justifying their bankrupt spirituality. They claim themselves the most visited winery in Canada, and like everything else, it’s unverified. If you search for the best wineries in BC or all of Canada, Summerhill fails to top any of those lists. Can I name better wineries? Having been to over 90 wineries in BC alone, I can think of about thirty, ten just in Kelowna.
For a venue with such a great view, my high hopes for the tour quickly faded. After being escorted into the pyramid the mood shifted towards spiritual healing and the power of the pyramid which admittedly isn't my preference but I respectfully let others in the tour participate quietly. However once it shifted towards miracles, specifically of healing or reducing such aliments as cancers and tumours I almost lost it. As someone who has suffered such an aliment i felt physically enraged and removed myself before even tasting the wine. Which from what i heard may have been for the best.
Beautiful scenery, appearance is very nice and the people are friendly. Good wine selection, a lot did not suit my personal taste but the person I was with liked several of them!
I love this winery! The place is beautiful inside and outside. The views are fantastic, and it is just so peaceful and pretty.
We were lucky enough to have our small, intimate wedding here recently. Summerhill made it a wonderful and memorable day for us and our families. The event staff really went above and beyond all day for us, any and all requests were heard and taken care of. They took extra care to meet COVID protocols like distancing chairs and tables, and we felt safe all day. Nicole was super helpful in getting things planned and offering advice and solutions when I had questions leading up to the event. On top of all that, the location is stunning and the dinner was delicious! I also had a chance to visit the tasting room and bistro in late August before the wedding, and can reassure anyone that you will feel safe here. They have plexiglass barriers between you and other visitors in the tasting room, all staff wear masks, and they sanitize the surfaces before you enter. In the bistro, tables are well spaced out and there is a lot of airflow. Thank you to everyone at Summerhill for all your help with planning and hosting our big day, it couldn’t have been better!
Went for Mother's day. An absolutely wonderful experience as always. I go up there a few times every summer. The grounds are beautiful with an awesome view. Lunch at the Sunset Bistro was fantastic (as always). Service was on par and the food was exquisite. They are really accommodating about food allergies Prices are comparable to most other winery bistros. I've been there for lunch, dinner, ordered off the menu and had their buffets and I have never been disappointed. The only negative I have is, at times, some of the staff in the tasting room could be a little more enthusiastic. I have had some awesome people serving me there though and I never regret stopping in for a taste or two.
Wonderful lunch...mussels for me lamb burger for my meat eating husband plus a lovely cabernet franc.
Great View point. Fairly really busy even in April. Parking is great. Price is a little high. There's a little mini golf in the front for kids. Overall good visit.
This is not just a winery. It is also a big estate and a beautiful scenery spot up on a hill overlooking the Okanagan Lake. I did not purchase any wine because I am not a good drinker, but the lake view was fantastic.
free wine tasting was my favorite part of the trip that led to the purchase of an expensive ice wine
It is such a great wine tasting experience, it's good to come in earlier to avoid the rush, their bistro is so good, love their menu options. Everyone at the winery was so nice, loved the hospitality.
Drive 2 hours after seeing this place is dog friendly. When we arrived was told dogs can not enter the restaurant or winery. Staff made it clear there is nothing to do there and was told about other wineries in the area and shops to go to instead of this place. What a waste of time and money.
staff ABBEY was knowledgeable and friendly. Had a really good interaction with them. Did purchase some bottles from them. I totally recommend the tasting room. Hopefully the tasting goes
If you are visiting Kelowna or a local this winery and restaurant is a must visit. Don't be deterred by all the tourist buses as it's a big winery. I gave it a 5 star as this winery is active in the local community, gives back, and has a good restaurant and the best views.
My family and I travelled from Toronto to Edmonton, Banff to Kelowna. We were excited to enjoy some lunch and do some wine tasting at Summerhill Pyramid Winery. We walked in as online I had some issues trying to make a reservation and it was stated online that walk-in was welcomed. When we arrived, we waited a bit before we were acknowledged by a staff member. The Bistro was not busy. The host asked do you have a reservation as we don’t take walk ins. I explained I had issues online and she said try and make reservations online you may get it, you may not. I was able to make reservations for 2pm it was 1:45pm. Another guest came in and it didn’t look like they had reservations and the host took them right away to be seated. The host came later and I showed her the reservations and she said come back at 2pm. It states to arrive 10 minutes before reservation on our confirmation. At this point we can feel that we were being treated poorly and felt segregated. We no longer wanted to eat here. I am south Asian and my husband was Eastern European never in our lives have we been poorly treated. We didn’t wear flashy clothes, nor did we look messy. My family and I decided to take our business elsewhere-I have been to many wineries around the world: France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, in Ontario and have never been treated like this. Absolutely disgusting service. When I went back to share my feedback and asked for the manager of the Bistro it was the host that we were dealing with the whole time. She didn’t care if we left and didn’t try to make an effort to welcome our business. If you want to support a place that’s discriminatory and feel segregated, then this is for you, otherwise please take my advice and take your hard earned dollars and business elsewhere.
The view was fantastic! However, food was just okay.
One of my favourite red wine from British Columbia is made by Summerhill Pyramid Winery. The ALIVE organic wine. Locally made from Okanagan Valley, BC, Canada. It is tasty-licious & affordable. Also available at most BC Liquor Stores.
Very disappointed.. We went for a special tasting.. 13 years ago we went to Summer Hill as our very first wine tasting.. And that tasting is what introduced us to wine... We thought it would it would be special to take our 20 yr son to his first wine tasting to Summerhill. Well no one welcome us or said hello.. We stop at one bar to wait for a tasting, nothing, then went to another bar still nothing, went and stood by a third bar.. Still nothing.. We finally left disappointed.. There was a few people in having tasting but not crazy.. We stood by at least 4 workers and not one acknowledged us. Very disappointed at the lack of customer service.
Fondue night! Great food, really nice variety of wine and a fantastic experience with Doug. Definitely planning on coming again.
Quite disappointed in the lack of service at the restaurant. We sat there for 15 minutes and no one came to take our drink order before we left. I understand it's the busy season; however, if you are too busy to serve patrons, you should lower your seating capacity.
The fondue was something different for them to offer. Getting the white wine for cost was appreciated.
I've been to Summer Hill many times before and always bring my guests from out-of-town to visit as it is a popular tourist attraction. The views of the wineries, mountains, and lake are always breath-taking. We visited on a summer Monday afternoon for some wine tasting and lunch. We were able to get a table on the patio as a walk-in, which was great but I would recommend making a reservation in advance as it can be busy during the high season. Once seated we were given menus and got our drink orders in in a timely matter. I got the Lavender Limoncello, it was delightful. We asked the waitress if we could do a wine tasting while we waited for our food. She said that was ok. We went outside and received a complimentary wine tasting. Sebastian took great care of us and we tried some of Summer Hill's top wines. We returned to our table, our food arrived shortly after. This is where Summer Hill lost their points in my opinion... We ordered the Sauteed Clams & Chorizo which was on the saltier side. We also got the B.C Waygu Beef Burger, the patty cooked on the dryer side. And the Margherita Pizza which looked better than it tasted. Unfortunately, the cheese or grease made the bottom of the pizza extremely soggy. I complained to the waitress about my pizza. She said she would talk to her manager. The manager did not come out to look at the pizza, take it away, or apologize, or offer anything as an alternative solution. The food and service just didn't live up to the standards of what I know Summer Hill to be known for.
Great wine tasting experience. Come early in the day and it won’t be super busy. Wine tasting is free as long as you buy a few bottles of wine, otherwise it’s $10 per person. The winery is beautiful and staff are very friendly.
The people were really hepful, awesome costumer service. But, the food quality was low. Honestly, It was too bad. The steak that I ordered as a medium rare, was not properly prepared and marinated. Comparing wagyu meal which is severed in other restaurants to summerhill restaurant, I am sure you have to reconsider your market-cut steaks. I even looked at other table who arrived there after us and ordered the same food. They couldn't even touch the second meat portion!!!... they preferred to enjoy the wine and veggies. All in all, I did enjoy the view, wine, and people, but not food.
Neil was a fantastic server. Great recommendations and very welcoming. We’ll be back for sure!
Visited over the long weekend with my girlfriend and we were thoroughly impressed with everything. Avneet was phenomenal, very knowledgeable and passionate about the wine. We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Summerhill to anyone. Shout out to Ryan as well.
Excellent selection, and very friendly. We always enjoy our visits.
We always have an amazing experience at Summerhill Winery. The staff is very friendly and helpful....we love the wine!
Experience: 1/5 Wine: 3/5 The worst experience. We just tried five kinds of wine, then we had decided to buy four bottles. We told the staff that we wanted to try others, then we will make the decision whether buying more, but she refused. Very bad experience...We will never go there again! Thank you for the response. The staff was not polite enough and did not explain the problem clearly throughout. There were four of us, and we were just given two glasses. We didn't think the wine we tried was up to the legal limit. Thanks again.
Tourist attraction NOT for wine lovers.. The service in the tasting room by a woman with curly hair, was very rude, packed with negative energy and "you can only play with my rules" bossy attitude.. Only for happy tourists which have been attracted by the scenery, not a pleasant wine tasting experience.. Choose another winery with people that love this job and can do it properly.
Really great experience. A few biodynamic wines in their portfolio, great service with friendly staff in an expansive tasting room. There are beautiful grounds for weddings and events. A wonderful patio overlooking the lake with wonderful food choices. There are lots of things for people to see and do.
Really nice place and pretty grounds. This was our last stop in our visits to wineries in the Okanagan. It was also the only stop where the service was subpar. Everywhere else we have been treated fairly and like the other customers. But here we could tell we felt rushed throughout the tasting. The restaurant attached is quite nice and has a decent menu offering for happy hour.
Fantastic winery
Free tasting with any choice of their wines, which is a huge plus. The only thing was that it felt like a little bit too touristic. There are a lot of signage with Chinese and other languages, which are meant for all the tourist buses that …
We went for wine and appies while on vacation in Kelowna. There was no description of the wines (very hard to distinguish which were reds and which were whites) server seemed too busy to speak with us and provide any information about the wines. We ordered a cheese plate and requested gluten free crackers we were informed that gluten free crackers were only available during the peak season and they could not tell me if the meat was gluten free. Minimal gluten free appies as well. Overall I should have picked a different winery.
Very good red wines at this organic established Winery. Some vines are 50 to 60 years old and make excellent mature smooth wines, tastings are free, bottles are reasonable. Among our favourite red Okanagan wines
Lots of small portion items in vegetarian but would like more smaller items in the meat category. Lovely deck. Pleasant greeting. Very busy. Probably need more wait staff.
Lovely restaurant with amazing views - very friendly staff and great tasting food- recommend the wagu burger
The wine tasting is magnificent!!!
Loved this place, very good wines and good services.
It's good you can try ice wine for FREE & enjoy the beautiful view!
This was our first time having dinner at Summerhill - we came for fondue night and it was amazing! Our waiter Doug recommended a Summerhill Chardonnay that paired perfectly and our busboy Julian made us smile all evening with his charm and amazing work ethic. The homemade desserts were the perfect end to a fantastic meal. We will definitely be back.
Friendly and very helpful staff! Great wine tasting. Delicious vegan options at the bistro.
Beautiful winery and stunning views
We've been visiting Summerhill on an annual basis for the better part of a decade, and each visit leaves us with a smile on our faces... and a couple bottles of wine in our hands. Walking around the iconic pyramid and well landscaped grounds is usually the first thing we do... I also say hello to the fish, for longer than any sane person should, before tasting the years varietals. All the staff behind the tasting bar are friendly, knowledgeable, and have gone the extra mile to impress us more than a few times (thanks for the extra spot of birthday bubbles!). They cater to the very different palettes between me and my wife, and do so with a smile... Each and every time. Grab yourself a bottle of Ehrenfelser for the patio, and spring the extra few bucks for the Viognier to go with your next meal - you won't be disappointed.
Enjoyable lunch with a Friend.
Absolutely fantastic! Great wines, great service. Beautiful views ????
Its a scene out of a fantasy movie.. the wine selection is epic staff are great.. knowledgeable ppl work there and the view is spectacular
Absolutely fantastic! Great wines, great service. Beautiful views ????
Nice winery with beautiful views. It was better before they implemented a $10 tasting fee.
Traveling through BC for the 1st time via vehicle vs air, and explored Kelowna for several days! The AirbnB Hostess recommended Summerhill Pyramid Winery & I am very pleased to have been on a tour (short notice) as well as met Valerie! The ambience of the property, the wonderful staff members & friendly guides was truly a delightful experience. I felt extremely blessed that Valerie allowed me to remain in the Pyramid following Anita’s & Valerie’s highly knowledgeable informational tour. I embraced much peace & a calmness while sitting alone in the Pyramid! She is a polite, caring, helpful & amazing lady. A treasure in a fabulous setting! Thanks so much, lovely Valerie! Definitely will recommend to my fellow Albertans, to take the tour & explore the Winery + Bistro ????
My husband and I just got married and we went to visit quite a few wineries and by far summerhill was our favourite. Avneet Hothi was nothing less then a wonderful lady, she allowed us to bring our fur babies in the winery and hangout as well. We loved our visit and the bistro was amazing with great service and very friendly atmosphere. We highly recommend and will be back soon. Jeff&Bri
Incredibly underwhelming experience. We expected to have a nice afternoon wine tasting, however I was met with ill-mannered, racist and unacceptable behaviour from staff. Summer hill, I sincerely hope you partake in cultural sensitivity training for all your staff— particularly Barbara. Outrageously disappointed. Please consider taking your business elsewhere— Cedar Creek is just down the road.
We went out to Summerhill Pyramid Winery in August, 2017 as a group down in the area on a wine tour weekend. We had arrived in Kelowna earlier in the day, however decided to do a bit of a walking tour downtown before we drive out here. We had double fun that evening because my wonderful wife had already booked 4 seats for us to attend the paint night that we were attending @ Summerhill. The grounds were pretty top notch, and it looked like they were setting up for a big wedding. Commanding views of Okanogan Lake, the big marina @ #dockside was also visible. We had such a fun night here. We painted a cool picture on canvas each, had some good nibbles and drinks, and met some interesting folks also attending the paint night. We had travelled her from #robertsroostrvpark and my wife loved the craft aspect of it as we have done paint nights @ #dollysreach Give yourself some love and get out to this place when you are in Kelowna. And be nice with the reviews......they work pretty friggin hard to make your time there memorable! #LetsGuide
Honestly this place is living on its reputation and has got lazy. Service is poor, no appreciation for customers. So many wineries in the region are more deserving of your custom than here. They do have a nice view but you cannot see it unless they deem you worthy of sitting near it. If I could give zero I would. Go somewhere else.
Worst wine tasting experience in 15 years of tasting. Unfriendly, unwelcoming, no knowledge of the wines, tiny pours, sloppy pours cleaned up with a dirty rag (even wiping glass with dirty rag), chaotic, distracted, slow, inattentive... and the wines weren't great either. Thank goodness we were able to cleanse our palate of all that poor service with a lovely (and more typical of BC wineries) experience at Tantalus down the road.
Service was so. Slow. The interior is quite dated as well.
Excellent service and amazing wines! Joshua was an awesome server!
Had an awesome time, our guide was phenomenal. Great views and Great wines. Didn't get to have lunch at the bistro due to a graduation booking that was there, would have loved to but we enjoyed a tasting and sightseeing instead! Definitely would reccomend.
Excellent wine and food. What a view !
Great location. Good food and speedy service
Decided to swing by Summerhill Pyramid randomly after a hike and wasn't let down. Had an amazing wagyu burger for lunch - and the waitress was pleasant and attentive. After that we did a wine tasting and our guide, Joshua, was absolutely fantastic. Charismatic, knowledgeable and just an all around good guy!
This winery is stunning and the customer service is wonderful. Very friendly and accomodating. Susan was very knowledgeable and even shared some of her favorites. Their wines are exceptional and organic.
The best meal we’ve ever had. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I initially booked this table using their easy online booking system, as myself and my sister are both vegetarian and were struggling to find a winery with a view that gave us vegetarian / vegan options (most have one option). Not only does Summerhill provide a range of non-meat options but they pride themselves on being an organic restaurant. And oh did we strike lucky booking here. Initially we thought we would have to eat inside as the weather wasn’t great, however the welcoming staff gave us a table outside, under a heater and then gave us blankets, and the view is absolutely beyond words. As the evening went on, we kept the compliments coming (best view we’ve ever had at a table before, best red wine we’ve ever tasted, best food...) and in the end, we decided that this had to be the very best dining experience of our entire lives. I recommend coming here in all seasons as they cater for the colder weather too. Genuinely an incredible day.
So poorly organized - don’t go here unless you have a reservation. Told us to wait to order takeout and then ignored us for 10 minutes. Bring a lot of patience if you expect to be served. Staff seemed overwhelmed.
awful food awful service waited 40 mins for our drinks and an hour half for our food.. food was very expensive heard heavy metal music blaring from the kitchen.. scenery was beautiful restaurant nice only positive experience i had here..
So lucky to have Summerhill as our neighbourhood winery and restaurant! Fantastic organic bruts, a chef-driven menu, and stunning views. Doesn't get much better than that! Also a shout out to Kyrsten who always makes our wine tasting experience special.
Great wine choices for surprisingly reasonable prices. The staff is super helpful and friendly (or we were just lucky with Krystal). We ended up with a trunk full of wine. As per the restaurant, we missed the pizza (lunch only), so were recommended a great place in town as an alternative. So again, kudos to the staff. Oh yes, and the wine tasting is free.
Great dinner location to end a full day of tasting. The restaurant has spectacular views, the food and staff was top notch. I recommend going during sunset, so you get the view and also so it is not so hot.The only issue here is the tasting room, it is so crowded and hot that the tasting of the wines was more like ordering from a bar.
No "wait to be seated" sign. During busy summer times its chaos. People don't know what to do, seat them selves or wait. Suggest making a reservation. Delicious food, great view on the patio. Visit here every time I'm in town.
In this day and age I am amazed to encounter the attitude here. We were told that couples could not sit outside yet we saw many white people allowed to sit there. When we asked about it we were fobbed off. Frankly they are racist and we will never be coming back and will tell anybody who asks not to visit.
Great location, modern but cozy and classic. Friendly staff, we had the complimentary 4 wines tasting. No pressure to buy them. We went inside the pyramid, nothing special. One of the best views!
I will never visit again. Horrible service.
Love this place ???? Magical sunsets, magical food, and magical staff! ???? Big thanks to Doug and EunMi for making this night extra special. Will be back ????
Good: wine tasting with Lorrie was awesome and lots of fun! She is knowledgeable and easily handled 4 of us sampling. Our server in the restaurant was fast and polite. The food was good. Bad: we went to the restaurant to hopefully eat on the patio without a reservation. They said the only spot available was away from the patio. Well, we were there 1 1/2 hours and saw 2 of the 20 outside spots used when there. Also the greeters were slightly impolite.
This place has gotten very crowded and commercialized.
Had lunch here which was amazing. Service was prompt, views are spectacular and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the arctic char which was cooked to perfection. They offer complimentary wine tasting, and their organic wines are really very very good. Highly recommend a trip here!
The worst experience I've had in a vineyard, the attention and service was very bad, the wine tests were all done in one glass (if you have any knowledge of wine you know how bad that is), nice view and the wine is not that bad.
Group tour of the pyramid building and wine tasting was very informative and a fun experience. Winery provided spectacular views and sweeping landscapes.
Had lunch here today and it was fantastic. My wife had the spicy chicken sandwich and I had the brisket burger. One of the best burgers I've ever had. For dessert we shared the Smores tart, equally great! Five star meal without a doubt. Great views of Okanagan Lake. Service was fast. Nothing poor to say about the experience, five stars all around. Highly recommended!
Cool place awesome view friendly staff and great wine .. what's not to love!
Beautiful place with stunning views of Kelowna. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wish we could have stayed to try the bistro as it looked great.
This winery is probably one of the most touristic one but it has amazing views of the water on a nice day. They allow you to sample hte wine, very friendly service in many languages. They also do wine tours and you get to check out the pyramid. Definitely consider doing if you want to check that out. Tons of wine selection to choose from here. They are very well known for their ice wine - but this is pricy!! In the summer of 2017, they had a rose that tasted like watermelon, really light and refreshing for the season!
Great location, modern but cozy and classic. Friendly staff, we had the complimentary 4 wines tasting. No pressure to buy them. We went inside the pyramid, nothing special. One of the best views!
Went for afternoon tea. Because they serve organic food, most of the items are very tummy filling but not very good taste. But with the view overseeing Okanagan Lake, it’s not too bad.
Such a lovely experience at summer hill. A group of us showed up at a busy time. Nicole was super interesting and the nicest host. Thanks for having us!
I didn't do any of the wine tasting because I was driving, but the atmosphere was lovely and the views were beautiful! The staff were really friendly and they were strict about social distancing guidelines.
Beautiful setting, lovely staff and great restaurant. The wine tasting was well organized and delivered.
Beautiful location over looking orchards and the Okanagan Lake. The tour was very informative and the guide was very friendly; eager to answer all our questions. It was very interesting hearing about the purpose of the pyramid and that this is an organic orchard. We were a bit disappointed however by the meal we ordered. Very expensive, small portions and the taste wasn't great. Over all, this is definitely a great spot to visit. I would recommend this place to a friend.
Great wine selection, awesome view. Wei was helping us and he did an excellent job introducing the wines. If you are ever in the tasting room ask for Wei and you'll not be disappointed
This is an amazing business that consistently gives back to the community. I run a small comedy club in town and we can always count on their generous support for the arts. They really deserve a lot of recognition for how much they do for others. Thanks!
Good wine, friendly staff , and generous free tasting with bottle purchase
I love this winery. It is so beautiful, best location there is! The Bistro has had a complete overhaul and the food is incredible!! The wines are super affordable and delicious. I love the Pinot Noir and the Cipes Brut!
Spectacular views but terrible wine tasting experience.
Top notch view! Top notch wine tasting with veeeeery long list. This piece of land is something special and is full of photo ops. Bring your good camera!
One of Kelowna's must visit wineries. Never disappoints, with great wine, a lovely bistro, and amazing views.
Awesome, fun serving staff that were really kind and accomodating. Had the cheese and charcuterie board paired with their foch. Tastes were out of this world. Definite recommendation.
10/10
Nice place
Wonderful winery with fabulous and huge selection of wines and fantastic views around ???? ???? ???? ❤...
Good place to taste some wine. I prefer Reserve Barcelona red wine.
The grounds are gorgeous and they give you a free wine tasting. Didn't try any food here. We brought a picnic. The view is incredible and the service at the bar good.
Good food, great service, value for money. Menu seems heavily focused on vegan and gluten free options which is good for those who need it :)
Great wine, good people and awesome view
nice place to visit and taste all kind of wines that you want
BC best wine for me. Good food. Went in for wine tasting and they have very welcoming staff and had a great selection of tasting in mid Jan 2020. And afterwards had lunch. Had Spicy Chicken sandwich and it was the best ever. And had Crispy Pork Belly. It was so crispy and so tasty. Good selection of vegetables. Great staff and got juice on the house for my daughter. Great views and had a pleasant experience and great evening to top it all of what you can enjoy in Kelowna.
This was one of five stops on the wine tour I took in Kelowna. What makes them stand out from other wineries are the sparking wines and ice wines that they offer during the tasting. The wines are good (my favorite was the syrah), but the place got really crowded with huge tour buses coming in. There were five in the parking lot by the time I left. Good wine, but if you're looking for something more low-key, this is not the place to come.
Have been here multiple times and everytime is a great experience! Beautiful place. Jake who helped us with wine testing was great and he deserves a thumbs up ????for the excellent service.
Susan Watkins was our Sommelier today during pur wine tasting. Our experience was amazing and she made my 60th birthday a very memorable one. The 4 bottles of a special Frog Syrah was our favorite. Thank you so much.
A must for people visiting Kelowna. Absolutely divine wine and delicious food. The best views of the mountains, lake, surrounding countryside and vineyards in the most relaxing setting. Recommended for everyone.
A lovely winery with tours, tasting and a restaurant. Lots of photo opportunities and places to take photos. A bit touristy as it is one of the well known wineries in the region.
Great tasting experience. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Had an amazing time! The manager was very accommodating, food was great and wine was even better. I met a group of hilarious women from Red Deer that really added to the experience and made the visit even better
Last weekend I tried for the first time their Bistro and I've been positively impressed with the food. The "Garden" board was excellent and the pizza too: the dough was thin, crunchy and light (I'm Italian, I'm picky when it comes to pizza doughs ????). The wine selection is good, I personally had a glass of their organic Syrah and i really liked it.
100% Organic, Natural Winery in Kelowna, BC! The best one in the Okanagan. Amazing views, restauraunt, salsa and bachata lessons (Wednesday), Spanish lessons, etc etc. So much to do for the whole family! And they just won an award for the best ice wine in the world! Which is also my absolute favorite! Highly recommend!
Very good view. Free wine testing. Good selection across. Krysten at the counter was nice to talk to. She had good knowledge and very helpful in selection.
Best place to dine in Kelowna - we always have the rib eye steak and Arctic char - great food and wine selection to choose from while enjoying the great vineyard views
Beautiful place, great service, amazing wine- one of the best Syrah's we've tasted.????????????????????????. Took us more then couple of years to go back- so close to us, go figure. Definitely will be back, hopefully not in another 15 years????.
Great ambiance, great views. The service is ok. The food was pretty bland and boring for the price. I could cook better food than they serve. The Bruleed Parisian Flan had too much going on, on one plate. They need better chefs and recipes to make up for the high prices. I had the Spanikopita. I could probably get better tasting food in the frozen food section at Costco. The service was good though.
Lovely winery and friendly staff! Lots of wines to choose from on their free tasting menu. Rieslings aren't bad but I ended up buying their Ehrenfelser Icewine, which is amazing if you love sweet wines. Will definitely come back!
Three of us had an enjoyable dinner with wine pairings. The food was very good, wine was just fine. Waiter recommended a sparkling wine before dinner that was a different grape (I think Chenin Blanc) from typical Chardonnay or Pinot Noir. It was relatively expensive and not worth in my opinion. Service and atmosphere were quite nice.
Really liked our wine taster server Megan. Did a really great job. Thank you!
Was there for a wedding. Found the wines not very good. The food at the bistro was even worst. They are trying too hard to make food combo that don't pair such as brie and orange segment canapé, watermelon with prosciutto and balsamic or fig and caramelized onion with brie tartlet. When the food pairs it's bland (missing salt on potatoes and salmon). Service was ok.
Absolutely lovely winery and staff. Enjoyed learning about their organic agriculture and commitment to preserving the environment and the bugs that help with agriculture. They also had fresh organic juice for the kids to try!
Went in for the tasting and was disappointed by the level of service we received. Regardless, we purchased a few bottles of wine. Nice view from the outside and several methods of payment are accepted
Thursday BBQ Grill & Chill Night- July 22, 2021. Everything in this menu was perfection. The food is absolutely delicious. We dined outside in the patio and the view was gorgeous. Liz was our server. She was very attentive and funny. Thank you for the wonderful service. I highly recommend if you are wanting a romantic night out with your partner or just want to enjoy dinner with friends or family.
Great tasting wine. Was hoping they would give us a tour of the facility and show us the wine-making process, however this was not included as part of the tasting experience.
Best Elk ribeye steak I've ever had, what a delightful meal and experience. Its quite pricey however worth the view and the food and the wine. Just don't go there on a windy day it could get pretty chilly as the restaurant is pretty open to the lake
Avneet absolutely rocks! My brother in law proposed to my sister here last weekend, and even though it was a long weekend she went out of her way to give us a great experience. She was so helpful in providing us with information and help setting up the proposal. So not just 5 stars for the great wines at Summerhill but also 10 stars for Avneet. The Brut is to die for. Wine tasting was superb. Would def go to this winery time and time again! Such a great experience.
Our service was wonderful...beautiful setting...delicious food...lovely wine. Highly recommended.
If you're not in a Chinese tour group, don't expect any attention at the tasting bar. Too commercial. With so many wineries to choose from, why not go somewhere more concerned with the wine?
Best local wine.. thank you for friendly staff
Great tasting wines and some of the most amazing views I've seen. Very knowledgeable staff.
Great wine tasting experience. Come early in the day and it won’t be super busy. Wine tasting is free as long as you buy a few bottles of wine, otherwise it’s $10 per person. The winery is beautiful and staff are very friendly.
Delicious organic food, fine organic wine and a beautiful view of the okanagen lake. Free tours and amazing wine tasting. Friendly staff and professional event planners. Spending time here is a wonderful treat.
Our first ever winery visit at Kelowna. Loved the location and as first time visitors to a winery, we got lucky and the tasting fee was waived off. Will consider going back when in Kelowna.
I had booked the estate house for a milestone birthday party, having consulted the staff and determined that everything I needed would work in this space. I arranged to have the event catered by Summerhill and had sent out invitations to all of my guests. I spent several weeks trying to confirm the booking and was told that it was all good and that they would eventually process my deposit but that they were in the midst of some staff changes. They assured me that I did not need to worry. Today, just 7 weeks out from the event, they emailed to say that they made a mistake and the house is already booked. Now I am left scrambling to try and find a suitable venue with the party fast approaching, and the "sorry for the inconvenience" email doesn't do anything to help my situation. If you are looking to book an important event, I would recommend you look elsewhere.
Definitely recommend this winery! The views are amazing and the wine are delicious! Especially their ice wine (to die for). The gentleman who helped us during our tasting was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable! Would definitely come back here and I already plan on buying something from their online store.
I love the bottle of water Fontaine.
Had high tea at the bistro, very pleasant and excellent vegan menu.
This used to be a great spot. The Sunday brunch was off the hook. However it has suffered a massive decline in both food and service quality. Save your money, don't eat here
It was great. Not too overcrowded. The person who served us was wearing a face mask. Good wine at reasonable prices
Horrible experience at Summerhill winery. No service at all. The staff did not seem to know what they were doing. Had a hard time trying to get a tasting done. Staff was overwhelmed and only seem to care about the bus tours coming in. The restaurant was empty but yet they said it was an hour wait...could not even receive service in the gift shop. I will never go back.
Excellent. Food and view amazing. Great staff. We eat here all the time. Highly recommend it.
Always an amazing facility to enjoy for quality wine selections and more - stunning view of the Okanagan Valley, overlooking West Kelowna and its many wineries. Bistro offers daily Happy Hours and fine meals for every taste.
The staff are absolutely wonderful, the food is amazing and the view is stunning. I always have such an fantastic time at Summerhill Winery. Stephen is an absolute pleasure as well and omg do not get me started on the wines. Just exquisite, so full of incredible flavours. 10/10 Recommend Summerhill. No place I'd rather go than here. Seriously buy a case, it's worth it!!
Our company held our Christmas party and Summerhill this year and everyone had a wonderful time. The food was amazing, service impeccable, presentation beautiful, and the venue was warm, quiet, and provided a fantastic environment. Our team loved it and we would highly recommend it!
Just went for a tasting but the scenery is beautiful and the wine is great.
Food..amazing, wine... amazing, service...amazing. table of four girls playing WAP loud next to you and staff doing nothing about it.... so not amazing.
We had a magical day at our recent wedding reception at Summerhill pyramid winery. Regardless of the current pandemic, we had such a perfect night with our friends and family. Summerhill made all our guests feel safe by following the necessary and current health guidelines. The staff was amazing, so many guests commented on the wonderful service and the organisation was and how smooth the night went. Prior to the event, Nicole, the event manager was so helpful and when we met her she gave us lots of recommendations and advice to help us plan the night. Our meal was amazing too and so was the wine! I could not be more happy with how the night turned out.
Daniel was amazing! Friendly, informative, and funny. We had a great time and the wines are delicious!
Came in close to close, with a Party of 6. Joshua was awesome, patient, and understanding. He was only 2 weeks into his tenure with summer hills, but he will do great!
Food was fantastic.
Tasty whites were served up with clean glasses. Wine is a bit pricey.
I love this winery! The place is beautiful inside and outside. The views are fantastic, and it is just so peaceful and pretty.
The Summerhill pyramid winery is a must visit when in Kelowna. We went during the early days of June 2020 and we were able to do tastings, but the restaurant was not yet open. The pyramid is really cool to see, but unfortunately we were not able to go inside on our visit. The vineyard grounds are picturesque and worth a visit.
Great wine and absolutely beautiful views
Although our meal was nice, it was served cold. We had steak and seared tuna with veggies. It was tasty but cold, which would have been okay in the summer, but it was a chilly night and we would have appreciated a hot meal. Also, the bistro was very noisy. It would be good for the restaurant to provide some sound attenuation so conversation is not difficult. All in all, okay, but not great for the price.
Went for a tasting and a snack. Great wines, great view, the lady serving us was awesome.
We had a great time here. Very knowledgeable staff, they have a large variety of wines to taste. They even let us have an extra tasting because we were curious about their ice wines (they’re really good) stayed here for dinner afterwards and had a real good steak. Took some wine home afterwards because why not? Bonus points for the photo spot out front!
We were not impressed with our service for lunch at the Bistro. My sister''s Chorizo/Clam dish had to be returned because it was lacking the chorizo. My tuna salad plate had to be returned because there was not tuna it it! There was no compensation offered for these screw ups. I will not be taking my out of town visitors here again.
We had an amazing time tonight at the bistro. Food and service was awesome! Oh, and I never get tired of the view. Great patio set up too!
Great wine, beautiful property, loved our tasting guide.
It doesn't even deserve a comment. I am surprised it has such a high rating. The best feature is the view, the best food item on the menu is the overpriced toast.
quality organic whites
I LOVE this winery and all it does in our community. Stephen, you are a blessing to many for all you do and, of course, the excellent wine and never disappointing venue. Proud to bring my visiting family here. ????
My family of 4 were served at our 100% free wine tasting today by Harry, asistant manager of the winery. Briliiant in wine knowledge, generous in serving us more than 8 wine varieties! Harry even introduced my family to a 1998 vintage sparkling that was most impressive. We went away with 2 bottles of 2014 Gwertraminer. Thank you Harry, you and your team made our day!
Great food, views and sparkling wine. We always had a great experience visiting this winery.
Good icewine
Eat Organic ???? Save the planet ???? This name captures the essence of the menu offered at the Summerhill Pyramid Winery bistro. We were enthusiastic to try it because they have vegan options. We started our lunch with the plant based cheese board and the vegan calamari made of tempura oyster mushrooms. It was delicious! Usually, I’m more into White wine but I opted for a glass of Organic Cabernet Franc with firms tannins and it was a nice pairing with the food. For more pictures check out my Instagram (@ kelledstyle ) ;-)
Awesome wine tasting experience. Tasted some of the whites and reds. Really liked icedwines. The fruity taste was incomparable! Must try
This is only in regards to their wines, as we have not had the pleasure of visiting the winery yet. Contacted their sales department via email. Ryan, their sales manager was so helpful and nice.???? We are enjoying tasting many of their excellent organic wines now, that were conveniently delivered to our apartment. We don't drink any non organic wines, just too much of a health risk. SO glad to find out about Summerhill and their delivery to the door service. That is a step way ahead of the competition! Will definitely be ordering from them again and look forward to visiting in person, hopefully soon. Thanks Ryan for your assistance. You've got two new satisfied customers!????????
Was a great lunch date with my daughter only we didn't have any wine
This is in the top 5 wine tours as far as I am concerned! The view is amazing. The pyramid is so unique. You simply must check it out:)
This place was ok. Got a reservation and sat in the bistro, which was quite nice. We ordered the charcuterie board and added cheese for an extra$14 coming up to $40 total. It was quite disappointing in terms of presentation!! The worker who brought the food could not name the cheeses or meats. Other than that the cocktail drinks were yummy!
Amazing wine/food with an incredible view!
First time here. This is gorgeous. There was a wedding.. but I missed the kiss.
Doug was our server. One of the ladies in our party has a severe nut allergy and he worked hard to ensure that all was well for us. The food and wine was delicious!
If you like great food, amazing atmosphere, knowledgeable staff...this is the spot. Did we mention the incredible organic wine and view?!?!
Very busy with loads of tourists arriving in busses. Lot of cute spots for nice and unique pictures. I had sweet and sour pork with pineapple from their food truck. It was hard, stale and old. Felt like I was eating Little Rocks out of the grass. My partners little chicken souvlaki was great. Too bad they don’t throw out old food just keep serving it.
I wished I could give this place 5 star, but unfortunately I can't We dined in their restaurant and also did wine tasting. The food quality was 4/5 for me... I wished for a more creative menu with more options for everyone but I was happy with my pick at the end. Our server gets 5/5 he was delightful, very professional and made our lunch an even better experience. The day took a different turn when we moved to wine tasting section. The person who was "assisting" us was far from a wine expert. He was disengaged and at any chance left our station to check on his phone. He never offered us the experience we seen in other wine tastings toots we took... Truly disappointing , specially since we've brought our parents who never been to wine tastings and just got a guy who asked us which wine you want and pour it That was not it ... I really hope management understands the importance of their customer service team specially in these trying days of covid-19 which you should be extra happy to get a customer.
There for some samples, a wide variety, try the ice wine!
Good organic winery. Good wines, specially the ice wines.
Beautiful winery and beautiful wines. Especially their ice wines! Absolutely loved them. Tasting was free of charge and no pressure for purchasing. Just one of staffs did not try to hide her attitude after we decided not to buy one but we still appreciate great wine and all other attentive and welcoming staffs.
Amazing people and loving, positive energy place. Ezra was nice and arranged special treat for my birthday on my first visit.I recommend to all my freinds and family
Nice wine and a great view. Lots to see and view here!
Greet experience
One of the best views and patios in the Okanagan. Happy hour is an excellent opportunity to dig in to some food and a beverage for a reasonable 'Kelowna' price. Highly recommend the Syrah.
Went for a tasting and stood at the bar for 10mins before anyone even said hello. The wine was fine but how we were treated by the staff ruined it.
In comparison to other wineries the service for tasting requires more improvement and more friendly staff. Spent more than $400 in total for food and wine but unfortunately had a big piece of plastic in my wife's salad and fly in my friend's drink. The waitress replaced the drink and the salad but the kitchen quality must be reviewed by BC health ministry. Noticed a staff wearing gloves for COVID safety but unfortunately the gloves was so dirty that wasn't blue anymore and she was touching any surface with it. I recommend just wash your hands regularly instead of using gloves. The view is amazing though.
This was a truly awful experience. We arrived at the winery mid-afternoon on a Wednesday and walked straight into the shop/bistro as there was no one there to tell us otherwise. When we approached a member of staff asking how we could do a tasting, we were treated like criminals for entering the area unannounced... even though there was no one to tell us where to wait, where to go, or what to do at the entrance. We were rushed back to the entrance and told to enter our name and contact information (which was appreciated due to COVID). We asked for a tasting experience and were taken to an upturned barrel in the bistro/bar area. A member of staff came and asked us what wine we would like to start with. After 20 minutes of us awkwardly standing at the barrel contemplating leaving, the server came back for our first tasting. We ordered our wine and the server stood directly in front of us while we drank it, creating a very uncomfortable, rushed environment. We asked for our second wine, and it was served into the same glass as the first... big no no for wine drinkers, even during COVID. The server lacked knowledge and ran around in circles when questioned about the process. Repeat this for all four wines and that was our experience. Many other wineries in Kelowna offer a relaxed, inviting atmosphere where you can sit down with a flight of their wines and enjoy some of the tapas they offer. This is not that place. The staff are rude, wine is awful (don’t expect unoaked wine, even if it doesn’t specify on the menu that it’s oaked), and the atmosphere is terrible. Try visiting Cedar Creek or Quail’s Gate for a much more pleasant experience.
Best Elk ribeye steak I've ever had
The food and hospitality were unmatched it was awesome I will be back there I guarantee it
It is just a wonderful place! Great wines, amazing people working there and awesome views. Looking forward to coming back for the food!
Honestly a super friendly winery with a beautiful view of the Okanagan and dog-friendly! I loved that they allowed us to bring our pup into the wine tasting room with us! Just note that no dogs are allowed in the bistro. They have unique wines with lots of fruity tastes. Special props to Wei, Cheyana and Leah for contributing to our wonderful experience!
I read all of the terrible reviews about the food and thought this cannot be possible. How could such a great winery have such bad reviews. But the food is actually pretty bad. It's nuts. I think they should really get in a new chef. The other big wineries in West Kelowna have amazing restaurants. However, the wine at Summerhill is the best in BC by far, some of the best I have had in the world.
Decent food, good wine and beautiful view makes up for exquisite lunch experience. Tried out the white wine and found it decent with good taste. The food is also quite delicious which is at least comparable to the pricing.
By far the best Sparkling wine I've ever had and the view from the Winery is just stunning! If you haven't been to Summerhill, you must go!
My hubby booked my birthday weekend in Kelowna, which included dinner at the winery bistro. It is a beautiful location and they do have tasty wine. Unfortunately, it was a bit chaotic. When we arrived, it was quite busy and it wasn't very clear where we were to go. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed as the atmosphere wasn't overly inviting. We showed up early to take advantage of the wine tasting, but when we finally got a spot, we were quickly ignored in place of the ' VIP' group that was right after us. After that, we were off to dinner. The menu is very limited and the food was mediocre.
Beautiful view. Friendly service. Free wine tasting!
The wine tasting session is badly organised and unprofessional, and all the 6 glasses of wine at the wine tasting are lack of character, poor quality. Don’t waste your time visiting this winery, there are many better ones out there.
Awesome winery!!! If you are visiting Kelowna or a local this winery and restaurant is a must visit. Don't be deterred by all the tourist buses as it's a big winery. I gave it a 5 star as this winery is active in the local community, gives back, and has a good restaurant and the best views. Such a lovely experience at summer hill. A group of us showed up at a busy time. Nicole was super interesting and the nicest host. Thanks for having us!
Gorgeous place for large parties, as well as for tastings and events. Paint Nights seem to be hosted here often! Beautiful tasting room with great wine.
Great place, awesome staff, amazing wine
I just got married at Summerhill Pyramid Winery on June 29, 2019. It was everything I ever dreamed of. I can honestly say everything was perfect, the location, the food, the drinks, and the service was outstanding. Livi Waller their Events Sales Manager worked with us from day one (we were engaged for 19 months) and she was there helping us every step of the way. Answering all my emails, filled with questions. Sending us all the paperwork needed and making the process as smooth as possible. Wedding planning is stressful but having someone as experienced and well-versed as Livi is a blessing! Everyone (including us) have been ranting and raving about the food, from the appetizers... to the main meals (salmon & chicken).. to the dessert. One of our guests even went home and tried to remake the Salmon.. it was that good! I was a wedding planner when I lived back in Vancouver. so I had a high expectation of how I wanted things to go. Livi ensured everything was perfection and ran smoothly, I couldn't be happier! If you are looking for a venue, I HIGHLY recommend doing your wedding at Summerhill. It was worth EVERY penny! Thank you so much for making my wedding day one I will never forget. Looking forward to coming back there for our one year anniversary!
Food was expensive and not good. Tasteless and bland. Wouldn't recommend.
Cool place awesome view friendly staff and great wine .. what's not to love!
The wines here are splendid - our favourite being the Spadefoot Toad series. We had the picnic in the vineyard and every bit of food was delicious and thoughtfully curated. Our kids loved the Pyramid and kekuli, and remarkably they are a cool oasis even in the 37+ degree heat, naturally without air conditioning. Both a physically and spiritually nourishing place...highly recommended!!
The BEST white wine. I've never tasted a bad white summerhill wine. I'm not a red person so I couldn't tell you about their reds. Also amazing ice wine and dessert wine too! Beautiful location for tasting, the parking lot area overlooks a fantastic view of the Okanagan lake. This is a very popular tourist spot (pre-COVID, at least), and for good reason!
Summerhill Pyramid is one of the most beautiful wineries I’ve visited. The view is great, the staff are amazing and the wine is even better! Avneet and Ryan helped to make our visit memorable and exceed expectations. Will definitely be back here soon!
Rudest service ever from one person. My family and our three dogs were doing the Lakeshore wine route to wineries that are advertised as dog-friendly. Knowing wineries vary on policy for dogs on premise, we asked a staff member named Emu Mi if dogs could enter. "We are in Canada, no dogs are allowed". We were so taken aback with her attitude of what she said; it was as if we are uncivilized foreigners. First of all, we ARE Canadians from Vancouver. Secondly, we have been to wineries that are dog-friendly. Moving on, we decided to not let Emu Mi spoiled our vacation. We decided to order take out from the bistro to enjoy the scenery. She told us the kitchen cannot accommodate take out orders because there is a party of 30 people and we should go. I could not believe the attitude and service once again. It is unbelievable that with the size of the bistro, the kitchen could only handle a party of 30. I wonder what would happen with the bistro is filled and if Emu Mi remembers she is in the hospitality industry. The only saving grace was the apology from a staff member with purple hair after witnessing how shocked we were and showed us the outdoor wine tasting area where we could take our dogs to.
Love that they're certified organic and that the owners are promoting that certification to the association. We had a very nice tasting session and a tour of the facility including the pyramid by a wonderful young lady named Anveet ( hope i have that right) she was very knowledgeable as well as entertaining, very professional. I think the few negative reviews stem from the high summer traffic, Summerhill is so very popular and busy that a few fall between the cracks. They do very well considering the crowds.
Food: 3/5 Experience: 5/5 It is a pretty place and looks like a good place for a small wedding as well. I liked how they had mini golf putting, seesaw, and a nice statue for picture taking. Overall we had fun here. Speaking of food, I ordered a burger that was very dry. Fries were great.
Stunning views from the restaurant! Good food and great service!
Friendly and very helpful staff! Great wine tasting. Delicious vegan options at the bistro.
Beautiful views, but overpriced! $90 for a couple burgers and two tiny glasses of wine. And the washrooms were disgusting; dirty, smelled, my wife was horrified. Just a typical tourist trap.
First time in Kelowna area and first visit to a BC winery did not disappoint. Derek who served us at the outdoor tasting area was fantastic. He was a pleasure to chat with and even though we were on a significant time difference, appreciated our out of town candor. The wines here are fantastic. Being a wine person, I found the wines to be a welcome variation to our Ontario wines we try frequently. We ordered several to take home and they offer free delivery within Canada for orders over $300. All in all, highly recommended for tastings or a dinner. Book in advance as they are busy. Whenever we visit this region again we will be sure to make another pit stop here, it was that good.
Beautiful location. Complimentary tasting. Excellent wine.
Ate at the winery's Organic Bistro. It has a nice patio area, but the view was a bit obstructed due to the current air quality. I had the Meatballs & Fried Polenta, which was my favourite item I tasted. The polenta had good flavour combined with the 'marinara/tomato' sauce. Although it's more similar in price to some of the other appetizers, it could be eaten as a main. The soup of the day was roasted garlic and mushroom, it was alright, the mushroom flavour was kind of subtle. I did enjoy the 'vegan calamari' which came with ample fried oyster mushrooms. The tempura breading was just the right amount. The service was great! Depending on if the winery is booked for a private event or not, there are areas blocked off to the public, so we didn't get to walk around as much as we would have liked.
Summerhill has always been our favorite winery. We were married here in 2011, and the entire wedding was incredible from the ceremony, to the food and of course the wine. Years later we have constantly enjoyed the wine, and occasionally visiting while on vacation. We recently returned for a vacation, and spent the evening at the bistro eating and drinking wine. The staff is incredible, the food is incredible, the wine is phenomenal. The location, the view, the processes which make everything so special are essential to why this is one of the best winery's in the country. Anyone in the area, i highly recommend that you visit. If possible, visit the tasting room and reserve a table for a meal. If you can only visit one winery in your life, i hope it would be this one.
Summerhill was our wedding venue! We had the ceremony and cocktail hour on the back lawn, followed by the reception in their private events area downstairs. If you’ve ever visited Summerhill, then you’ve already got a pretty good idea of what you can expect from them for a wedding venue: the views are spectacular, the grounds are beautiful, and the food is world-class, especially for vegetarian/vegan inclined eaters. Everything about our wedding at Summerhill was amazing. It felt very much like a “full-service” venue. Many other venues charge for every small thing that you need (table linens, napkins, etc etc). Summerhill’s rates and prices are much more accommodating, and easier to understand. Most of the things that you think should just be included, are. If you needed additional items, like a few extra wine barrels to use as cocktail tables, or an easel to prop up a sign, they would let you use it free of charge if they had it. From the time that we booked the venue to the day of the wedding itself, they upgraded several elements of the grounds, and renovated a bunch of their space to make it better than before, which was a super nice bonus! Dinner service was quick, and the staff were both pleasant and attentive to our needs/requests. The event manager (Livi) was wonderful to work with, and was very accommodating when we had special requests for our day. One small gripe we had was that Livi was sometimes difficult to get a hold of by email; which was challenging for us as we are not local to Kelowna. We visited a few times to meet with vendors, and Livi was always accommodating and amazing to work with when we could meet with her *in person*, but we sometimes wouldn’t hear from her for several days when we emailed her after going back home. This may be more an issue with the Summerhill events team being overworked, and not necessarily a reflection of Livi. Still, it’s something to be aware of. We highly recommend Summerhill as a venue, and we had the wedding of our dreams. We don't believe that we could have made a better choice.
We really enjoyed our tasting and then a glass of wine and appetizers in the Bistro. Our server, Lyne, was excellent. We will certainly return.
Nice place great wine
There are a lot of beautiful vineyards and restaurants, I wish I had gone to any of them instead of here.
THIS REVIEW IS STRICTLY FOR THE BISTRO. I visited with my partner last week we booked our reservation Online and had requested the patio. On arrival we were told the patio was not available, Please note there were many tables open and our server indoors was also serving the same tables outdoors. These tables all remained available through our entire meal. We ordered the Waygu Burger and the shrimp pasta. We had high expectations seeing as everything was advertised as organic and fresh unfortunately both of our meals were incredibly bland. The shrimp pasta was also overpriced at $32, especially for the portion size you get about one and a 1/2 cups of cooked pasta and about 8 medium sized shrimps. A couple of positives were that the happy hour drinks were all about $5, the view is still a nice view of the lake.. I would suggest just going to the winery and having your tastings because the tastings are free and get your photos on the property but otherwise stay away from the food honestly very disappointed.
Great view! Great Wine! Amazing brunch!
Wines are good. Service is really slow. Have been here a couple times and both times were the same. Servers seemed stressed. We were there with a big group that Pre ordered the food. This did not help as they would not place the order until 45 minutes after we arrived.
We had an amazing experience here from start to finish. Our waitress, Maddie, was phenomenal. Food was unique and really good. Views were amazing, we will definitely be back.
One of the classics -- hits the "organic" and "views" requirements for your wine tour, and has a pyramid too! Worth the visit.
Maybe it was an off day for the bistro at the winery. We has a steak sandwich which came with three slices of flank steak , a pot of something white which was tasteless , a green smudge of something, one slice if bread and potato chips. The wine was delicious; the service was excellent, but we were really disappointed with the food offering. Basically we had three slices of beef for $24.00.
They had free tastings here but I did not enjoy any of them. There is a huge list where you can select from but for me, I wish I took my time and visited another one. There are tons of picture opportunities outside if that's your thing. Our server was nice and knowledgable.
Food was good but a little over price. Service was not very good. Nobody came to see us for 15 minutes after we were seating we had to stop one of the waitress and tell her that we were still waiting. No bread was served to us before the appetizers. We ask for bread between entree and main plate and it was never brought to us.
The salads and main were very tasty great service, but the paper napkins and plastic chairs were out of place with the quality of food being served. The decor could use a update the old putting green at the front door is more than a bit out of place. Such a beautiful location some attention to detail is needed to make the decor match the food and service.
The wine is alright, but the tour was God awful. The guide, named Derek, wouldn't shut up about the holistic healing nature of their pyramid and the crystals inside it. He wasn't funny, and kept talking about stuff no one cared about. I honestly thought it was one long elaborate joke, and I was not the only one. I come to a winery to learn about the wine, not their made up voodoo BS. Luckily there was a few nice normal wineries close by. I learned nothing about wine from the tour.
Been to a lot of wineries in kelowna, this one is one of the best, the views are amazing and the wine was great but the highlight was Anika, who help us in our tasting. She was really knowledgeable af wine and helpful to pick a few bottles we got. She also recommended a few places to go and things to so in kelowna. 10/10 recommend this place.
Food is good, albeit a bit pricey for what it is. Fries, while described as good, were not. Order the salad as a side if given an option. Good selection of wines, but I recommend trying some first as some are very good and some are not.
We booked for 6:15pm, party of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids). Server was brutal. She took her sweet time doing everything. She too forever to come back and take our orders, I had to ask for a wine list (it's a flipping winery), it took until 6:45 for her to even get us wine (once again, we're at a flipping winery). Our food finally arrived at 7:30, so we had 3 young kids who were starving by this time. I tried to ask for a manager, but it didn't seem like one was around. One of the folks working the tasting room tried to help, and they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, but for service that brutal, it didn't really cut it. Top that off with our table being attacked by flies the whole time, and it was a really unpleasant experience. The only thing good I can say is that the food was decent. But with many other options available, I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone. Cedar Creek winery is not too far from here, and has way better service! Really poor job Summerhill.
The pyramid was extraordinary to see and to go inside, the wine was delicious and the location is stunning.
This is a beautiful winery, and family can do a great family party
Very nice winery with lots of great tasting wines. The bistro also has excellent food. Definitely worth a visit.
Gorgeous place and wines are really good. Recommended.????
We came here for lunch during our Wine Tour on a Monday afternoon, and I have to be honest we just did not feel like we got the best service. We first did a wine tasting, and the girl who did ours just seemed so bored. We didn't really get an explanation of any of the wines. Then, we went to the restaurant and ordered a charcuterie board (which is a crazy price for what you get) and we felt that our waitress was annoyed when we asked her to tell us what each thing on the plate was. With so many restaurants around with great views, I will be skipping Summerhill the next time we go.
They have various varieties of wines and the atmosphere there was great! They also have great view!
Variety of good wines with amazing views of the Okanagan
We went here for happy hour, and sunset time. We were not disappointed by the view because it was beautiful. We ordered several glasses of wine and my friend ended up getting a bottle since she found her favorite. We also got some appies ($5 each) but the food was just ok. The service is fast and efficient. Overall, we would come back here again.
Not happy at all with the service. At the entrance they promised wine tasting was free if you serve lunch at their bistro, however they did not check to see if they can accommodate us for lunch so they still made us pay for the 2oz of wine we tasted
Nice!
Amazing sights and tastes. Love their Brut.
Beautiful facility and interesting tour/tasting. I wish they included a tour of the vines and had a little more details on the process. Our tour guide was good, but she didn’t have many answers for us. Still worth the trip to see the pyramid.
A must to visit when you’re in kelowna. Beautiful views over looking the vineyard and okanagan lake. Free wine tasting was a bonus, ended up buying 3 varieties of wines. Thank you Barett for your excellent customer service. You took time explaining each wines and had a good conversation with us. If I visit again, i will try their restaurant.
Fun tasting experience.
Really nice place, walk in tasting welcome, 10$ fee (4+1 wines to try) which is waived with a purchase of bottle
We had our wedding here, and Nicole and the staff at Summerhill knocked it out of the park. The amazing views are enough, but the food, wine, and service were all top notch. So happy with our choice to get married here.
You can do wine tasting and purchase their amazing variety of wine. The view was great and there’s a restaurant for you to dine.
The scenery is great and is worth a look at to take pictures with family or friends. The main staff is great at explaining and recommending different wines. The only problem was the group of young girl workers who ignored visitors with questions and instead were talking with each other and were loud. I would’ve enjoyed my experience that much more if it wasn’t for them.
This is in the top 5 wine tours as far as I am concerned! The view is amazing. The pyramid is so unique. You simply must check it out:)
Always great service, stopped in to pick up a gift card and a case of sparkling for a client. I'll be back soon for their delicious food on the deck overlooking the vineyard.
Had high tea view is lovely tea was tasty.
My husband and I got married here in 2014. Not only was it a beautiful and memorable experience, but we come back and visit often as they have some of the best wines and a gorgeous view.
Great view. Affordable wine tasting.
Lunch at the bistro today. Vegan calamari and seared saganaki tofu at our table. Calamari was good, but small portion, seared tofu was meh. What is usually a pleasant meal event was turned into a surreal experience by what appeared to be a manager on a mission to mop the entire restaurant several times while we were there. Then the expected happened when a server slid on the wet floor, crashing down with a tray of filled water glasses. She was okay, but obviously in pain. Then the manager (we think) decided to mop the floor again, and then again. Entertaining maybe (not really) but didn't make up for the unexpected average food. We've always come to expect more from the Bistro, maybe it's having problems adapting to reopening after lockdown. But Summerhill wines are still our favourites, that's all that's in our wine cabinet!
Food is always good and portions are always more than expected. Always leave there full.
Very nice ambiance. Enjoyed wine and cheese & Charcuterie. Sat at the table with built in fireplace and it is amazing.
The owners were nice. However, the customer services from the other staff was rather unpleasant. S. was the staff serving us at wine tasting. Our group of people waited there at the counter for half an hour just to get to taste one white wine that we didn't ask to try... We took our time browsing through the menu and have already noted down the ones we would like to try, but we never got to tried them because S. was ignoring us and serving other customers who came after us. The other group has already finished purchaing buy we were bring ignored.. not sure what happened and why this happened. Overall the experience was very unpleasant and time wasting.
The tasting was awesome. She listened to what we enjoyed and made recommendations. The restaurant was the best meal I've had in Kelowna. I had the Cajun tempura Arctic char and trout (the special for the day) and my husband had the farmer's pizza. Absolutely delicious! I wanted to return everyday for the rest of the trip but had to refrain.
Best Elk ribeye steak I've ever had, what a delightful meal and experience. Great food, views and sparkling wine. We always had a great experience visiting this winery.
My experience at Summerhill was great! The staff were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They did a great job at ensuring people were socially distanced.
Amazing winery A+++
The atmosphere is enjoyable. The staff are knowledgeable and accommodating
Super dog friendly gives this place 5 stars immediately. Add to that knowledgeable and friendly staff, a great selection on the tasing menu, and beautiful grounds... A must-do, but you must make a reservation.
We had Steak for dinner and it was horrible! frozen meat and absolutely no taste! their cooking method also is awful! they need new chef for sure! They put extra charge for service on your bill while even their dishes are not clean! I don't recommend it at all.
Beautiful British Columbia ????Good wines !!
Loved the experience! Beautiful winery and great wines. We didnt get a chance to see inside the pyramid this time around , but will have to come back and do that.
Called in one week prior to book a reservation and requested for a special seat to view the sunset. I explained to the hostess that this is a special bachelorette event for two to see the sunset and have a light dinner. We’ve arrived 30 mins early prior to the reservation, there was an empty table for two outside and we were placed in the inside of the restaurant away from the deck/outside. I requested to be seated at the empty table outside to view the sunset, the hostess had to talk to her manager and there was a huge discussion at the front regarding seating. She returns and stated that because in my reservation I did not request to be put on the patio they can not accommodate that as someone else is also coming at 7:30 the same time as our reservation. As a customer I was extremely annoyed that a special request was put in one week prior to this reservation, arrived 30 mins prior, there was clearly a table outside that meet my request and they did not honour that. Not only was the hostess rude and giving us attitude stating “did you request for patio when you made the reservation?”. Obviously I did not know that was a requirement and the hostess that took my reservation one week ago SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THAT. Especially if I stated that this is a special event I wanted to celebrate with my friend. Why would a new customer know that this was a thing? Honestly this already put a sour taste in my mouth before the dinner even started. What happened to customer service?
This is in the top 5 wine tours as far as I am concerned! The view is amazing. The pyramid is so unique. You simply must check it out:)
Excellent customer service. Bought a couple of bottles of wine on skip the dishes, and realized they had delivered us an incorrect bottle. We had asked to exchange the incorrect one for the correct one, and to our surprise summerhill delivered the correct one the next day and let us keep the incorrect one. Thank you, and we enjoyed the wine very much!
Beautiful setting, great wine
Beautiful winery and delicious wines. Especially their ice wines, absolutely loved them. The Ehrenfelser was another favorite. This lovely winery offers tours & tastings of organic/biodynamic wines, plus theres a bistro and theres even an aboriginal gallery.
As a full- time university student, I can say that I have worked hard for my money and understand how easily it slips through fingers. Every once in a while, my family will treat ourselves; dine in a well recommended, sophisticated restaurant. The purpose; to inspire ourselves to strive in our education and careers to one day be able to treat our young. Summer hill winery would be one restaurant that did not inspire me at all as, I felt extremely ripped off and dissatisfied. The staff were busy which is fair yet, not once did they apologize for the 10 minute wait on a single glass of water. The food was delicious, yet very overpriced for the portions. I’ve visited the location twice and, seem to remain with the same disappointment. Yes, I can say that I have been there and done that. Yet to say it proudly, that I cannot do.
I normally love going to Summerhill but this time I was disappointed. I brought my friend for dinner because I told her it was a great place and decently priced but this time I felt the food was very expensive for what you got, tasted alright and the menu wasn’t very big. The waitress was very knowledgeable and kind in the bistro though. After we wanted a wine tasting and the gentleman who helped us couldn’t care less that we were there. He didn’t recommend any wines or tell us anything about them. He just stood there until we picked a wine. And when I asked a question he YAWNED out loud. He clearly didn’t want to serve us. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this winery.
Enjoyed the winery tour and atmosphere. The pyramid is really unique and it was an experience to enter it! The staff was very knowledgeable and even though there was a large group she was very attentive to all in the group.
Great food and wine with the best view in town.
We absolutely LOVE Summerhill Winery; from the food, the wine (of course), the atmosphere, but most of all, the wonderful people. The winery owners and staff are so gracious, welcoming to all and so accommodating. Nicole, the wedding coordinator, is so wonderful to work with; she is fun, very knowledgeable and a very welcome addition to the wedding side of the winery. You can tell everyone at Summerhill loves what they do, as it truly shows. And on top of it all, the location/venue is beyond stunning!!
After visiting so many beautiful locations and wineries in the region, stepping into Summerhill was like a weird departure into an alternate reality tourist trap - weird kitchy decor, tonnes of tourists milling about, and a plethora of middling wines that can be purchased elsewhere for much cheaper than what they offer at the winery. It all seemed rather disjointed and just had an odd vibe. Cleanliness was lacking, garbage cans overflowing, poorly cleaned washrooms. If their wines are specifically to your taste, then come to see where there made and enjoy the story of their upbringing. If your time in the area is limited, I suggest you spend it elsewhere.
We had dinner here last week and very much enjoyed it. This was our first visit to Summerhill so we opted to have a wine tasting prior to our meal. We loved Keter, a “big red”. We came on a Tuesday evening so the restaurant was quiet. Staff was attentive. We ordered mussels as an appetizer and shared the lamb tagine as a main course. Both were delicious! There are 2 reasons why I’m giving Summerhill 4 stars. 1) Because we asked for more bread to soak up the delicious sauce the mussels came in, but were told that was not possible because their bread is “only available in large loaves”. I’ve never had a restaurant tell me I couldn’t have more bread! And 2) the building is quite outdated and has a strange layout. It reminded me of an 80s rumpus room. I used the bathroom during our meal and had to walk through the restaurant, then through the wine tasting room, and then down a hall to get there! For the price of the food (and the beautiful view), management would be wise to do some decor updates!
Very stylish restaurant with good dessert (I only had dessert). Great wines as well. Loved the Riesling and gwertziner(?) and their ice wines are also very good.
My recommendation is to NOT make a reservation. I did so to show the area off to some visiting family and we were seated at the worst table I'm the place. This was infuriating because there were walk-ins both before and after us that were seated on the patio. I guess they figured we were money on the bank and the walk-ins might leave if not given a good table. We were so insulted that we got up and left. (So obviously cannot comment on the food).
Best experience. Thanks Wei you are the best!!
Good selection of wines for tasting (choose your own 4 for $10), with quick and helpful service. Amazing location and stunning sunset views with good vegan options in the organic bistro. Service was very professional and we were even given a little taster of the second press syrah as a surprise.
The wine tasting was fantastic. The staff are very knowledgeable and courteous. Got way more wine than I was going to but well worth it. Make a reservation if you are planning on eating in the bistro.
Laid back, beautiful views, contemporary cuisine, friendly staff, and good wines. We were a large group and they were very accommodating, even down to helping us get 3 taxis back to our hotel. Don’t leave with out trying the hazelnut choc cake!
They have a good collection of wine and the ice wine is a must try if you're into the sweeter side. Their vineyard is also beautiful and I think a wedding had taken place earlier because of how it was setup. I found the setup really beautiful. And our server Daniel was incredibly friendly, and suggested some really good wines for us to try and why we should try them. Had a great experience!
Terrible service. After 45 minutes all we had been served was a glass of water. Not enough staff to cover all tables. Honestly one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to - especially considering all the hype. We got up and left after they did not honour the reservation, brought an open bottle of wine! (After 45minutes) and then (again after 45 minutes) told us they were out of the sirloin. I am extremely easy going with such things, but this was not acceptable. Only the second time I have ever walked out of a restaurant.
Spoke with Michael Alexander from Summerhill as part of academic research for University. He was extremely generous with his time and provided valuable insight. Highly recommended Summerhill Pyramid Winery!
Good view. Good service. Messed up booking for afternoon tea.
Beautiful spot with great views of the vineyards and the lake. Amazing patio area for eating/drinking the afternoon away and a place that would make an excellent wedding venue. Only slight knock was the food was just good, not amazing. We also liked that this place was not too far from town and had lots of other fun activities near by such as cherry picking
Best winery I've ever visited. A variety of their wines win International competitions regularly and at the same time, most of their wine is also organic. Features free tastings and a nice restaurant with a great view. I'm hoping they will get specialized glasses for the different varietals in the near future.
Was expecting much more for the price. 2 Scallops (almost tastless) and 2 very small strips of pork belly for $36 was equivalent to an appetizer. One of the 4 meals we had (Steak) looked close to a real meal.
Really sweet winery and restaurant is good. I had pork belly with fried egg. Was good but I would say portion running a bit smaller than I expected.
The staff was super friendly and informative. Their wine was reasonably priced and its Organic!!
Summerhill pyramid winery is a whole vibe. Inside the pyramid is such an experience & the view is to die for. Also love all the wines!
This use to be a must stop winery for gifts and wine for myself but the last time was there (July-2016) I had an horrible experience. I don't mind spending money on good wine, especially in wine that I really like, however the sevice will ruin this decision really quick. I went in and tried their famous brute and it was awesome, was going to pick up at least two for the summer. Then they were trying to sell me ice wine, not a terrible price for ice wine, and the taste was ok, not the best of all the other wineries I have been to. The moment I said I don't want any but want the brute instread the guy ignored me and started to serve another guest that was interested in ice wine. Never will I go back again, it would take some convincing for me to even buy another Summerhill wine.
The wine selection and wines are great, they are an all organic wine which is fantastic! They have a great variety and some very good flavours that will make your pallet happy! Their style is a bit more colonial old country - not to say their facility is bad just not quite what I personally enjoy and that would match what we heard about this place
Top notch view! Top notch wine tasting with veeeeery long list. This piece of land is something special and is full of photo ops. Bring your good camera!
Went to visit on Sunday, October 18, 2020, and just happens that there was a power outage but the facility remained open for business. My wife bought a few bottles of wine and the people there were very professional and courteous even though they were working in the dark.
A friend and I went in for one of your complimentary wine tastings. Within 2 minutes of walking up to the tasting bar, we were greeted by the lovely Lyndsey. She was an absolute gem. She started by asking us what wines we liked best and what kind of taste pallets we had. After discussing with us she picked out some amazing wines for us to try that were exactly what we liked. We were absolutely pleased with our experience. Thank you to Lyndsey. We will definitely be coming back!
Did the wine tasting at Summerhill. This by far, is the best winery. Our server was a wonderful educated young man by the name of Tyson. He explained all the wines we tasted, and even recommended the Bistro's food. We had the best experience ever! Highly recommend this winery. 10 out of a 10.
Wine, view and property were great. We had heard good reviews of the bistro and staff said they had a “world class” chef. Once in the bistro the experience went downhill. At 2pm on a Saturday we were told it was a 25 min wait despite half the bistro being empty. We waited and got a great view. We are pretty laid back but this service was very slow by the time we were finally served. I order the chicken sandwich and it was overpriced and underwhelming. The “bbq sauce and greens” described on the menu were nothing more than a mayo and single piece of ice berg lettuce. It was not an elevated meal by any means And would have preferred to spend my money at the food truck style dining that is out front. Go for the views and outdoor wine tasting. Skip the food
This review is based solely on the experience in the restaurant not the winery itself. Restaurant was not busy, took just over an hour to receive or meals, neither breakfast pizza came with sausage on them(its one of the ingredients of the pizza on the menu). Will not recommend.
Loved the tastings, setting and view from the balcony! Keep it up!
My wife and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Summerhill and cannot say enough positive things about our experience. We've had tons of compliments from our guests about the food, wine, and location. The lake and vineyards in the background were a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. All the staff and servers were professional and very quick to refill glasses during cocktail hour and reception. Livi, the event planner was great to work with and made sure our day went smoothly. Both the hors d'oeuvres and main course were very good.
Very kind front staff, all staff made sure we were cared for. With Covid rules everyone is doing there very best. The views are spectacular. The selection of sparkling wine is wonderful.
My family and I (in a group of 6) had a wonderful wine tasting at Summerhill Winery. Stephanie, who was our sommelier, was very knowledgable and guided us on our wine tasting selections. She was very friendly and made for an enjoyable experience. We followed up our tastings with a visit to the patio bistro, where we overlooked the beautiful okanagan valley while enjoying some wine and the best cheese and charcuterie platter I've ever experienced! Highly recommend a trip to both the tasting bar and the patio Bistro! This was not my first time there, but every time I've gone, each experience is as delightful, if not more, so than the last. Happy wine tastings! Cheers!
The time of day, was evening and this restricted seeing all aspects of the winery. I think the winery has a wonderful feeling, of nature! Thank you to the hard work of all staff and participants.
Beautiful place. Dinner was amazing.
If you can only visit one winery in Kelowna, this is the one you to go to. The wine is exceptional, the first of the organics, made by a family truely commited to craft, the land and educating others. The sparkling wines here are second to none. If you have time, eat at the restaurant and take in the view.
Guys working the Gazibo are absolute beauties. Wine is great with great selection. Incredible view of the lake. The energy from the pyramid makes the wine better ;)
First time to Kelowna and this is a great place for wine tasting. Nice view and friendly staff!
Free tours available with tasting - sign up online. Friendly staff. It can get a bit crowded as 4 tour buses arrived as we got there. I do like the wine here!
Came for a wine tasting. It was held in a long and narrow room crammed full of people. One of the female staff talking to them was practically shouting throughoutwith a high pitched piercing tone and it negatively affected the vibe of my group nearby. I could not barely hear what my Asian male host was saying as he was feeling under the weather and unable to speak properly. He was also coughing into his hands as he was dealing with us during his presentation. The whole process felt quite unhygienic and it also really felt like the host was just going through the motions. It also felt irresponsible that the winery was letting a sick staff member serve customers.. quite disappointing indeed. In addition, we wanted to have a cup of coffee on the beautiful terrace. However the waitresses were quite busy and first tried to fob us off by saying they could only serve takeaway coffee and told us to wait. They then seemed to change their tune and were unwilling to assist us, claiming that it was because they had no bartender available. Are you kidding me? You're a BISTRO and you can't/ won't serve coffee from your huge barista coffee machine, fully loaded with coffee beans, near the bistro entrance?!? I've been to many places which have servers who can serve coffee. What's with the excuses and nasty attitude? To add insult to injury, we walked through the bistro to the terrace as we had the impression we could walk out to the outer terrace from there. One of the servers came running out to us as if we had commited some big crime and she even escorted us out of the bistro. Seriously, WTF. What a thoroughly nasty experience. Although the hillside setting was picturesque, this was the absolute worst among all the other wineries we have ever been to during our travels internationally. When we was on the way to the winery, we had considered buying some wine after the wine tasting and having coffee. Needless to say, we decided to walk with our feet and not bother to buy any of the wines there. An experience we'd rather not remember.
wines organic and well made, not a wine drinker but they are still fantastic to bring friends in and try or take some home as well! take home meals are a great experience. taste of mexico was phenomenal for the amount of food/price! would get again.
Tasting review :Mixed experience, but worthwhile for a tasting. We experienced an odd, aggressive server who was not shy about sharing her opinion on any topic. Organic wines are en vogue but are quite difficult to pull off without flaws. Most here were interesting in concept but had readily apparent flaws mid palate or in the finish. Wouldn't buy. HOWEVER, their widely awarded Cipes is truly excellent. Light nose but great mousse, well balanced acidity/body and excellent lengthy finish. Very well priced for quality, especially in Okanagan where most basic drinkable wines start at $30. Lots of busses, restaurant goers, selfies etc, so wine itself is "one of their offerings"
best winery in town tnx to wei for making this experience so great !!!
Came to Kelowna from Toronto to experience the wineries. My sister and I specifically booked Summerhill Pyramid because of their vegan menu. The service was amazing, she knew so much about wine and we chose the bottle of organic Pinot noir, it was great. But to be quite honest, the food was pretty awful. I hate complaining, but we got the vegan paella and it’s pretty embarrassing to even call it a paella. It was bland rice and vegetables with dry tofu. It was hard to eat, because it had absolutely no taste at all. I also ordered the pasta, which was just basic, nothing special. Next time I would reserve a spot just to enjoy the view and good wine, and eat beforehand.
Writing this review in terms of having our wedding there: When we wanted to do a wedding on a winery for over 120 people in the Kelowna area, there weren't that many options. Thankfully, Summerhill was one of them, as the views were breathtaking, the food was amazing, and the service was fantastic! The venue is absolutely gorgeous. It overlooks their vineyard which overlooks the lake and the mountains. They have a beautiful lawn for the ceremony, and the reception was in their hall which exudes a lot of warmth. They provided beautiful white chairs for the ceremony, the reception hall was air conditioned for the Okanagan summer heat, and the guests can also visit the vineyards as they please (apparently not all wineries do that when they have weddings!) Foodwise, they are fantastic. Every vendor we spoke with, when we mention Summerhill, they all mention the view and the food. And it did not disappoint! Great flavours and also very accommodating. Only thing though, is that they don't offer a tasting of the wedding food in advance (I'm guessing because of the volume of weddings they have?), but they do offer a tasting of their bistro's food. Luckily, they were able to cook something that was similar to what we'd have at the wedding, thus we were able to make some adjustments, which they did accordingly. Livi is the main event manager we worked with. She is extremely knowledgeable and she makes great suggestions when we didn't know what to do (ie. how much food for the cocktail hour, Cipes toast, etc.). She was also very accommodating to some of our requests (specifying the wine types, food adjustments). They do a LOT of events and weddings there, so it's important that you do read through the events order when they send it back to you (ie. food, etc.) thoroughly, as there were occasional small mistakes/typos, and each time we mention it, Livi updates it accordingly. With their volume, they can at times be a bit slow to respond when the wedding was far out, but Livi becomes extra extra attentive when it's crunch time. She attended to all our questions, and she was there the day of the wedding to ensure everything ran smoothly! Overall, we were so happy that we did our wedding there! All the guests LOVED the venue (as it was beautiful and warm), the food, and the service. Livi was a true professional and a pleasure to work with (accommodating and never losing her cool), and the cost was very reasonable for what you get!
Used to love this place! Visited them three times in the past two years and their service has really degraded.
Experience on Sept 23/2016 Called a week in advance to make a reservation for dinner. Called the day of to confirm and was told that we still have the reservation. Specifically asked in the reservation for a table inside because of the weather. When we showed up we were then told the only thing available now was the patio, then offered blankets for the patio to eat our dinner....(10 degrees out and pouring rain) Living in West Kelowna, we passed Mission Hill and Quail's Gate on our attempt to eat at Summer Hill. To be turned away after a 35 min drive and calling ahead to confirm our reservation is unacceptable. Wouldn't support this local business in anyway after this experience.
Beautiful winery place to go visit if you get a chance to go visit Kelowna! The lady at the wine tasting gave great explanations about the wines in details.
The tasting was great, the food not so much.. it was really expensive and was just okay. Nothing special.
Jeff&Bri
Great winery. Good wine and good views too!
Great wines! Second visit in as many years, great people and commitment to great wines!
It was great. Not too overcrowded. The person who served us was wearing a face mask. Good wine at reasonable prices
Beautifully located Winery, amazing views, excellent organic wine, great service, very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
We had dinner here, and expected the food to be wonderful given they're more expensive than every other winery restaurant locally. The food had no flavour whatsoever and was extremely disappointing. It was forgettable at best.
Went for wine tasting and lunch on the terrace. It was absolutely awesome. First a young tasting coach, Hunter, spent time and effort to describe and recommend all the product line. Fun, relaxed and knowledgable. He was great. The hostess went out of her way to find us just the table I had requested. I apologize for forgetting her name but again, first class. Then our server Leeza, an Eastonian marvel, took our convoluted order with grace and expertise. Then, when a dish was found unacceptable, she promptly took our concerns to the kitchen, substituted a perfect replacement and smiled throughout. The outfit has a gem there. To have such a magnificent venue like that hillside paradise backed by such a perfect workforce is rare. It happened here. The helicopter landing below the veranda was an added surprise. Thank you many times over to the staff and of course the owners. The wine is great too.
Pretty quiet quick service. Apparently the bistro is closed for renovations.
A mixed bag. I used to go fairly often, but have avoided it for a year now. Clearly way more disorganized than Quail's gate, Grey Monk or Mission hill, but has a lovely view of the lake and the wine itself is excellent. The restaurant is extremely inconsistent. They need a better manager to integrate the wine and restaurant business. With its location it could easily one of the best integrated winery restaurants if it really got the right people. As it stands the service is one of the worst in the Okanagan.
Awesome restaurant, the charcuterie is top notch and the wine is even better
Really bad service. The waitress even forgot one dish for us and we had to wait for food 45 minutes. No notice was given to us that food was gonna be late. Wine is good but the service is terrible. Not gonna come back and not gonna recommend to people. Ruined our great day.
This is the third time I have gone to Summerhill Winery. And this is the third time I have been ignored by staff when I walked up to the tasting bar. I understand they are bust, but the staff should at least acknowledge your presence even if they cannot attend to you right away.
5 star view of Lake Okanagan. 3 star food. 3 star service. Prices ridiculous:1 star. 5 oz. Of house wine was 10.95...this is a winery ... the house wine was thin and bitter. The next wine on the list was 15.95 for 5 oz ...I guess they pay for all the folks that go for the free tasting. The charcuterie board was 28.00 for a half a loaf of bread and some sliced veggies with a few slices of meat... we added cheese for 14 .00 ...you would not believe that there were 3 pieces (types) of cheese about 10 mm by 10 mm each.... 42.00 for an appetizer :)
Josh in the tasting room was fantastic! He knew a lot and was very kind and confident about the wine
This is place is always a treat when visiting Kelowna. Awesome food, tasty wine and great service.
"Beautiful view" is the nicest thing I can say about our visit. While the fellow doing the tasting went through the motions, he was clearly more interested and attentive to the people purchasing the specific wine he was pushing. We did find a wine we wanted but it didn't seem like anyone wanted to complete the sale. Stood at the cash desk listening to three employees discuss the schedule of another employee for OVER 5 minutes before one of them managed to year themselves away, look at the bottle we're holding and ask if we wanted it. And continued to participate in the employee discussion while completing the transaction. Customer service really needs to be improved if they want return business.
The best experience in the Okanagan! Enjoy :-)
Not a good experience at all. Visiting a friend and this was her first time at a winery. We went to do a wine tasting 1h before closing, plenty of time to spend some time with customers, and we were in and out in less then 8min. The lady who helped us made us feel very rushed and was trying to pour the next wine before we were done our current one. As well as we got no explanation of the wine we were tasting or background of the estate.
Summerhill Winery is beautiful! The views from the vineyard and tasting room are amazing. I highly recommend the Cipes Brut Sparkling Wine. A huge thank-you to Avneet who went above and beyond during our visit. She is very knowledgeable and her customer service was exceptional. I wanted to plan my proposal at a winery and contacted a couple other wineries in Kelowna. Either I didn’t receive a response or the staff stated “we can’t help you” as they are too busy during the summer months. A friend connected me to Avneet and she was very helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process. As I am not situated in Kelowna, she video called me so I can get a better idea and see the vineyard to help plan where specifically I can propose. I arrived in Kelowna the day before my proposal and Avneet took time out of her busy schedule to show me some areas around the vineyard. The proposal went great, my fiancé was surprised and will cherish the moment forever. My Family and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, thanks to Avneet. Looking forward to future visits!
The wine are very nice, but It’s a pity that the Chinese saleswoman who I met on 19 SEp is not professional in my opinion, she didn’t know what’s the organic certification, even didn’t realize what’s the difference between VQA and organic certification, and give me standoffish answers. As a member of organic agricultural industry, I suggest the employees training could be better
Food was fantastic, service fantastic, wine fantastic (try their Syrah Malbec Rosé on a patio day). Great view of the lake and vineyard from the patio.
A quaint winery. I liked the complimentary wine tasting. The winery is definitely targeted at larger tour groups with the golf set outside and the picturesque setting. However, would have been nicer if they didn’t have a tasting table with solely Asians assisting Asians. Being an Asian who speaks fluent English, when I walked up to one of non-Asian tasting tables, no one asked if I needed help. One of the girls who worked there looked at me and then started talking to her friend telling her friend how slow it was. I didn’t get any assistance until I walked up to the tasting table with all the Asians; felt a bit racist.
Wine is not bad. Buffet dinner was your standard fair. Service was good though.
The Ehrenfelser is outstanding here. Lovely location and good food and wine.
World class winery in the heart of Okanagan Valley!
UPDATE: Thank you to Jeremy at Summerhill for a prompt follow up and offer to make up the experience to us. We will definitely be returning and look forward to trying High Tea, and other menu items, again in the new year! ********* Four of us went for sparkling high tea. PROS: food was delicious. Everything from the savory to sweets were excellently prepared and portions were generous. The tea selection was really special also. The stars all belong to the chefs. CONS: service was abrupt and rushed and terse. Started with hostess who didnt even make eye contact or say hello, barely acknowledged us. We were barely seated when the server came by with glasses of bubbles and rushed our tea order. Two sips of bubbles and the tea and food were all plopped at our table with barely a word. We were also served a setting for three people and when pointed out, server did bring more items, but we still did not recieve everything on the menu. I dont know what was going on, but the restaurant was empty. When asking if we needed anything else, the server literally would ask AS HE KEPT WALKING PAST THE TABLE! The gratuity is paid in advance, so I'm not sure if that was reason for the terrible service or if something else was going on. I definitely do not expect to be doted on like a queen, but this service was just really off putting and did impact our enjoyment. Hats off to the chefs though, for sure.
The best experience we've had from the five wineries we tried. They believe so strongly in their product that they did not charge for a wine tasting and we're very educational and their explanation... By far the best experience we've had of all the wineries in this area
We could not have asked for a more perfect venue to celebrate our Wedding. Not only does Summerhill offer the most picturesque backdrop for a ceremony, the staff and service was phenomenal. We received endless compliments about the food and the wine. I would recommend Summerhill to anyone wanting a perfect winery wedding!
Beautiful grounds and vista, but had an encounter with a rather rude and unhelpful employee
The Kelowna Secondary School Jazz and Choral program under the direction of Sheila French would like to thank Summerhill Pyramid Winery for their gracious support of the KSS Music Showcase Concert. Remember to buy local to support businesses like Summerhill Pyramid Winery who help make our community great.
The food was very delicious and the ice wine is absolutely amazing
Delicious wine, all of them! Met the owner & toured the winery. Such a great experience. The Riesling is a must try & buy!
Beautiful winery with average food. Take your photos here and find somewhere else to eat! Tour buses come here with their loads of tourists so be prepared for the crowds
Wonderful place to visit! Friendly staff & beautiful scenery! Foods are normal!
Changing my review. There were initially some communication issues due to technical difficulties but this has since been resolved. I was finally able to get in touch with Ezra and Ryan and they were lovely to speak with! They kindly answered all of my questions and shared additional product history/knowledge that helped me to make a decision with my purchase. We were able to get through it all fairly quickly after the initial hiccup and I'm very satisfied. They were courteous and engaging. It's very reassuring when team members are enthusiastic about their product and it's obvious that they really enjoy what they do. Glad to have been able to find a wine I really love! Thank you Ezra & Ryan :)
Wine tours have been shut down due to covid, however had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant and then wine tasting. Purchased a few bottles of wine, and the wine tasting was free. A nice touch.
What a great afternoon at Summerhill. Not only are they a fantastic organic winery but we were astonished by the quality and selection of plant based options on their menu. A plant based cheese board on the happy hour menu!!! unheard of at a large main stream restaurant. Great job folks. Elizabeth was also awesome in the Bistro and Sophie in the tasting room.
We were very disappointed with our experience at Summerhill winery. The food was tasteless, the bathroom was filthy and the lobby was cluttered and dirty. It’s a shame as it was my daughter’s 25th birthday and we were all very let down with our experience. Summerhill portrays a high end venue and it was less than so.
Great views of the lake and Kelowna from the patio. Great food, and service, plus wine tasting, what more could you ask for! :)
Beautiful winery! Loved it!
Came to both the winery and bistro last September and had an amazing experience at both places. Winery had a large selection of wines that were free to sample - we ended up walking away with a few bottles. The atmosphere and view at the bistro were stunning. The food was delicious; the dessert was the weakest course - both desserts were a little bland.
Cold food, unfriendly service, dirty washrooms. $486 bill for 5 guests. Sadly disappointed.
It was gorgeous. The service was mediocre. They did have some gluten free menu items. The chicken sandwich was nothing memorable. The salad had a good dressing but only consisted of baby kale, no other veggies. The downfall of it - dessert was terrible. We had the only gluten free dessert, a peach tart.. I'm not sure what happened, if the plate was accidentally garnished with rock salt or what.. But the dish was very salty. It was gross. We actually argued over who had to finish it, because neither of us wanted to.
Come here for the ice wine. Very well done.
Beautiful facility with great staff that were very accommodating and kind despite the volume of people coming in and out. The complimentary tasting was a surprise! Found some really good wines and then went for a little bit of a walk around the outside. Unique pyramid on site which if cool to see! I was here when I was younger with my family but it was a blast to return and actually get to try the wine with my fiancee!
We had a horrendous time and will certainly not be going back. Our male server who also happened to be the manager on duty was rude, unfriendly, and crass. Service was horrid. It took us 45 minutes just to get our appetizers and we had to flag down other servers just to get our drinks refilled. We tried to speak to the manager but he always seemed to be "busy". When we did receive our food, he never even stopped back to see if we were enjoying it.
Spy cams in the washrooms and they kept their restaurant open while everywhere else chose to be socially responsible and close. No thanks, will not return.
Wow....I’ve been thinking about Jake H and his incredible service since my wine tour in August. His charisma, uniqueness nerve and above all talent surely earned himself a place in my hall of fame- keep shining Jake H! (Jake H 4ever- sorry Jake E!!)
My review only covers wine-tasting bar and the wine itself. My first visit to Pyramid Winery was in 2014 and I liked their wines so much that I chosen Cipes Brut for my own wedding reception. We visit Summerhill Pyramid Winery every summer, as I like their wines and always curious to try something different each year. We noticed winery became busier and sometimes we waited to be served, however staff was friendly and acted well under pressure from the guests ;) I believe this winery earned it's popularity.
Had a great tour today at the Summerhill Pyramid Winery! Great views, interesting stories and good wine. Definitely worth a visit when in the area.
Nice winery and delicious lunch
Great food and our server Hana was fantastic
beautiful scene and wine shining!
Very nice and tasty selection of wines and we were very glad about the waitress that was very skilled and well trained and gave us deep and good information about the wines, something we really appreciated! :-)
My wife and I had held our wedding reception here. Absolutely amazing day even with the unexpected snow. My wife had this message for Nicole, the Event Sales Manager. Thank you so incredibly much for everything Nicole. We had the best day of our lives at Summerhill Pyramid Winery. The venue was beautiful and perfect! We didn't even need much decor, it was that stunning. Everyone enjoyed the food and wine so much, so delicious! You and your staff were wonderful the entire night. Honestly, everything was perfect.
Very disappointed. We left not even getting to try the wine. There was no one to assist. Everyone was focussed on the bus tour people. The staff that were at the outside tasting bar only seemed to serve one couple at a time. The food in the bistro (which we had before going to the tasting) was average with portions on the small side although it was sufficient. Service in restaurant was very good though. Not worth the hype or distance considering the many other wineries around.
Went there for my birthday on August 15, staff at the Bistro and Main Reception could not agree if the Bistro is still open for all people. It seemed the Bistro staff suggest that customer with little children cannot go in at all because of children. I found that very disturbing and disappointing. I was hoping to eat and buy some wines but now you totally lost my interest in your establishment. Thank you for the reply Ezra. I suggested to your maître D or receptionist at the Bistro that we will divide ourselves but she is adamant that it is not possible. To make it worse, your receptionist for the wine tasting desk outside told me that the Bistro is fully booked. I told her that I am confused that people from same workplace do not share the same information. I told her that her Bistro colleague has a different information. That made me more upset that I bowed never to set foot in your place again nor bring any friends to your establishment.
My husband and I brought two friends to Summerhill for dinner and drinks expecting a great evening with outstanding service. We started with a tasting - zero information was provided about the winery, their process, the fact that they are an organic winery, nothing. Great wine but you expect that the person serving the wine can sell you at least one bottle, I usually leave a tasting wanting one of each. We didn't have a reso for dinner so expected some type of wait, we put our name down for a table, the hostess took our number and said they would text us once a table was available. After 15-20 mins my husband checked in to see where we were at on the list and someone else told him the seating was first come first serve... once we were seated we ordered a bottle of wine and our main course. We waited 25 mins with no wine insight, we approached a manger looking women and addressed our concerns - she ended up bringing our bottle out and then proceeded to ask if any of us had served, because if we had we would understand the stress of being a server during a busy time... um not my issue. Even after the other women brought our wine out we didn't see our original server until she cleared our plates. Wine or water was not poured for us, some young boy literally slammed a bottle of water on our table and walked away. And to top it off when my husband was in the restroom a server came by our table and removed his chair!! We were completely in aw at this whole experience. I'm still in aw.. as one of our friends said.. you can expect service like this at a Boston Pizza where your meals are $13.99 and every server has tables of 10+ people, however, when you dine at a winery you are coming and paying for the experience, you don't pay top dollar to pour your own wine -I can do that at home. Mistakes happen, restaurants can be short staffed, I understand that, however, acknowledge the issue and don't make a million excuses as to why the service is bad because again it's not my issue. The food was great, the wine was great but the service was honestly laughable. We will not be back, nor will we suggest the venue to any of our out of town guests. There are so many beautiful options in Kelowna with AMAZING, unforgettable service and Summerhill is unfortunately is not one of them.
This is my fourth time to visit Summerhill, and the last. Our tour guide was totally uninterested in us or the tour, and all indications were that he had already been heavily sampling his own products. The Pyramid, the most interesting part of the tour, was not open and we were not advised of the fact, in fact the entire tour including the wine tasting took less than 20 minutes! The tasting was over in two or three minutes and consisted of pouring a mix of dissimilar wines into the same glass with no explanations of what we were tasting. It was the last tour of the day and we were made to feel that the staff were anxious to get us out of the place so they could get on to better things. Terrible!!
Always a treat to visit Summerhill, been coming here for nearly 20 years. Great wine tasting and restaurant. Highly recommend the pyramid tour if you get a chance, we’ll worth it.
Service was great, the lady that helped us was very friendly and knowledgeable. However the wine is quite expensive compare to other wineries in the area, ie. Ice wine is $98+.
The food was not great I had a burger and fries and it was soo dry and like nothing on it. My sister had a dessert and we were wondering where the rest of it was. She was still hungry after food and a dessert.

Wine: Fantastic outdoor tasting area, completely free! Love that it's organic. Food: pizza and pasta are amazing! Cooked in a wood fire oven.
Beautiful setting and views, the food and wine were delicious, and Daniel was a great server.
We had a really nice tasting. All the wines were delicious, but the ice wines were totally incredibles. Our server was kind an gave of plenty of information.
