We were very much looking forward to taking our bikes up to NOTL for a weekend away as we are supposed to be on our a honeymoon in Peru, which was cancelled. I had printed some maps off on google maps and made a route in advance, as well as booking some tasting times. Strewn was first on the list, so we left the hotel (Pillar and post) in plenty of time to get there. We ended up in the wrong spot as the google map location online was incorrect. We called and they said they were aware of this issue and others have done the same thing. So we biked approx 9km in 15 mins to get there in time (still about 10 mins late). When we arrived we were soaked in sweat and trying to find out where to go for the tasting. It took 10 mins of us wandering around asking various staff until someone asked us for our information and took us to where the tasting was. This gentleman also made a point to say that we were late and our tasting time would not be changed. We explained the google map situation and he was like you’re still late. We did point out that perhaps the google map location should be changed so that false information is not being provided to guests and he shrugged his shoulders at us. He then took us to an empty patio to have our tasting which was nice aside from being soaked in sweat and having to deal with the man who seated us and was just plain rude in his tone and mannerisms. We didn’t stay after the tasting or shop for wines there, even though the wines were very tasty. The experience was already ruined for us so we carried on to our other booked locations where we had a lovely remainder of the day. I think a little understanding goes a long way and we didn’t feel welcome at Strewn.

We did a tasting at Strewn for the first time and it was a fantastic experience! The patio is separate from the dining area and is covered with a beautiful view of the vineyard. We were lucky that it was empty when we went so we essentially had a private tasting. Emma was our guide and she was so knowledgeable! She curated a personal tasting of 4 wines for us, and even gave us a 5th as a comparison. Really a 5-star experience - definitely recommend!

Patio experience was good but was very pricey just for a tasting that isn't comped when you buy wines after.. It would have been better to have a list of wines available either physically or online instead of us having to ask the server several times. Server and other staff were friendly and pleasant.

Strewn uses Tock as their merchant upon check out. All purchases are FINAL and non refundable. I purchased 2 items, one was completely the wrong thing (I thought I was making reservation for a lunch on a patio, and it was a wine tasting). However, I contacted Strewn right away and they did refund my purchase minus Tock's merchant fee of $5. They resolved it quickly and I'm grateful.

My fiancé and I celebrated our engagement at Strewn Winery last week. Our expectations were exceeded! We received great service from start-to-finish. The staff was so professional and kind. We did not have a photographer, hence, we were so delighted that one of the staff members offer to take pictures of us after our tastings! It was an experience my fiancé and I will never forget. Beautiful winery set back on the Wine Route. Nice selection, very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable staff. Walked us through the proper way to taste the wines we were tasting, steered us to what we would like. We didn't partake of the tapas bar, however it looked tasty and we've heard good things.

Went here on a Sunday for a wine tasting for two. The wine was quite good and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately we booked a spot on the patio (COVID protocol) and a large gust of wind came and blew all of our glass ware over smashing it ton the table and sending wine and broken glass all over us. The winery reached out to me after the original experience and invited us back for a do-over. Luckily the weather was perfect on their beautiful patio and we got to truly enjoy the wines and tasting experience. Thank you Strewn!

Of the dozen or so wineries we visited during our stay, Strewn was easily a crowd favourite. Evan was incredibly hospitable and friendly during our stay, and took time to chat and provide a tailored list of recommendations based on each individual’s preferences and experience with different wines. The outdoor patio area was lovely, and tables were arranged to provide ample space between different parties. The restaurant staff, boutique cashier, and Evan were all very amicable and helpful. The Riesling and sparkling rosé were standouts. Overall, a great experience — highly, highly recommended.

All the other staff we dealt with getting to the tasting room were a bit rude and left something to be desired but Michele was incredible and so was the staff in the gift shop! We came here today as part of the Niagara Icewine Festival, and the time spent here was lovely. The icewine was paired with a great chocolate mousse! They were even working in the winery behind the tasting area, which was cool. Nice visit!

Beautiful scenery. The owner, his wife and the staff were super friendly. We were 3 in the guided tour. They took us in a short but nice tour all along. I learned a lot about wine making and tasting in our visit. After this, we went to the restaurant and the food was very good. I can highlight the watermelon gazpacho which was super fresh, the charcuterie and the very tasty bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Wonderful winery! We had a wine tasting and lunch there and both were amazing. The sommelier Juan really understood our tastes and found us the most amazing red, white, and ice wines!! It was a really relaxing sit-down experience, better than other places where you just stand by the wine bar and get poured a few glasses. Here we felt really taken care of :) We ended up buying a bunch of wine from the winery AND olive oil and balsamic vinegar from the OLiV restaurant because all of it was to die for.

This was the third winery we visited in Niagara and was very glad that it had a restaurant because it was lunch time. My friends sampled the wines first- a lot of late harvest and ice wine. Their wine prices are extremely reasonable so many were purchased. Since we purchased many bottles, the tastings were all free. They also kindly held our bottles since we were walking/übering from winery to winery. We also bought some chocolate and had lunch at the restaurant in the winery.

Commercial feel and pretentious attitude. They did not have a greeter like many wineries do so it was confusing to figure out where we’re supposed to go. We are not wine experts and the man helping us pick a bottle used terms we didn’t understand and he didn’t go out of his way to explain them to us. Left feeling like we weren’t worth their time.

We booked a 45-minute tasting with Strewn Winery and let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed. It was raining when we arrived so we were brought inside for our tasting. We were seated and one of the owners, Jane, took very good care of us. She made the time to actually discuss each wine, get to know us and our wine preferences, and educated us on wine tasting. We enjoyed every minute of it and feel like we learned a lot! Jane made our experience so personal and we loved her! At the end she brought us to the store to choose the wines we liked and we bought maybe 8 bottles. Strewn was fantastic and 100% worth the visit. We ended up signing up for their mailing list to stay in the loop on their new wine releases and tastings.

Beautiful small winery. We had the best service ever. From the lady that works the store (Mariam maybe?, apologies as I forgot) who was nice, gentle, helpful and extremely polite to the gentleman that served us at the tasting. We felt welcomed, well served. The wines are really nice. I tried mostly whites and my husband red. The variety and the good quality is astonishing. They also provide a small bag of chips and they do take their time explaining and getting your feedback. In all, a wonderful experience and I would gladly go back for more of their wines which we of course also purchased at their store. I forgot to mention that when I phoned to make the booking, I was assisted by a wonderful and sweet lady as well. This place makes you feel like you are home...just tasting wines too. Our favourite this time: A Cabernet Savignon Sandy Block and a Pinot Grigio.

Disappointed to learn that the restaurant was seperate from the winery and they were not particularly friendly. We asked to sit outside for a glass of wine but they said if they got full they would have to move us. The patio was empty and the dining room half full. We didn't feel welcome at all.

We had a great experience with Dow from beginning to end in the Vineyard. Dow and the rest of the staff were very accommodating, warm and welcome. This trip was the perfect stop to start off our weekend in Niagara on the Lake. The wine that we tried was also some of the best we've tasted. Do not hesitate to book a tour here. You will learn a whole lot, taste some beautiful flavours, and most importantly feel welcome :)

We visited Strewn on their first official opening day following the covid closures. The staff was beyond accommodating from start to finish. We had a private tasting with Joe, the owner, and his wife Jane who guided us in and made wonderful tasting suggestions. We sat outside on their beautiful new patio (appropriately distanced) and our 45min tasting quickly turned into 1.5hrs as we so much enjoyed speaking with Joe and learning about his vast experiences in the wine industry. It was such a pleasure getting attention and information at a winery in such a busy region. Great wine and great experience (we left with 6 bottles!). Thank you Joe and Jane, we will definitely be back!

What an amazing experience! Jane greeted us at the door as we fumbled with our cell trying to make a reservation. She set us up on their lovely patio facing the vineyard and that’s where Maryanne took over. Maryanne discussed our preferences in wine and suggested a dry Riesling after talking about my wife’s preference for Pino Grigio and Chards. Although hesitant with rieslings as they are often sweet, Maryanne sold us on the dry and it was a great call! Her discussions with us set the table for the wines chosen for our tasting which is a fabulous way of meeting your clients’ preferences let alone the offering of many options. The premium reds were fabulous followed up by the full bodied reds that were fantastic, again chosen based on my palette. What an awesome afternoon! The topper upon leaving was a discussion about our experience and of course more wine talk where Jane mentioned a Pino Blanche which we were not familiar with followed by a quick taster before leaving. Needless to say we brought home a few including the Pino Blanche. Best tasting experience ever!

Tried 5 different wines. Lady helping us was friendly and laid back. Not pretentious or trying to sell us anything. Bought three bottles. One of which was a desert wine. As she explained, it's the second pressing of ice wine grapes after they have thawed and the water in the grapes mix with the sugar from the previously frozen grapes. Mmmm

Absolutely our favourite winery of the trip to Niagara on the Lake. The staff here went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at ease. Evan delighted our palette and hearts with fantastic wine choices and stories about various grapes and wine making methods. We especially enjoyed his final Chardonnays and bought two bottles of each. After arriving at our restaurant for dinner, we had a change of heart and decided to return to Strewn for delicious patio meal. Justin welcomed us and made of meal a very happy one. So glad we decide to go back!

They've always been our favourite winery in Niagara. This weekend we went for their patio wine tasting and had an absolutely amazing time. They've adapted really well to the pandemic -- we felt safe and well cared for. In fact, we hope they continue to offer this new patio experience even once things have re-opened fully. We were fortunate to be guided through tastings by Evan--he was wonderful! We felt he went above and beyond in his service and sharing knowledge about the wines. Though we had masks on, we still left with big smiles on our faces. Thank you!

My family and I had a fantastic time at Strewn Winery! We took part in the "In the Vineyard " experience and it surpassed our expectations. The four of us were the only ones in the 2:30pm tour on Friday. We were very lucky to have Joe, one of the owners, as our guide. He let us know about the history of the building, the winery and his experience in the industry. This was my first winery tour and it was neat to learn so much. We tasted our wines on the patio, instead of in the vineyard, just in case of the expected thunder storms. It was a very lovely atmosphere to hear about how the wines were made and just to enjoy the beautiful grounds. We finished off our afternoon visit by purchasing three of the four that we sampled, along with a few bottles of Joe's recommendation (Strewn Three) and an ice wine. Thank you Joe for such a wonderful experience!

This was the only winery that greeted us. Before arriving here, we went to four others and left because it was packed. We tried oak wine and fell in love. We bought two bottles and got our tastings for free (like most wineries). What I liked about this place is that they had a restaurant that I would like to try, called Oliv and a cooking school beside it. It felt very homey and non-pretentious. We will return.

Loved it. Had an amazing time. We went to have a couple sample flights and the gentleman at the wine bar helping us was amazing. He gave us tons of details about the wines and helped us select which we would like. Would go back in heartbeat. Update : went back, loved it again. This time we went on busy day and the manager managed to fit us in for a tasting. We were set up with a gentleman named Kyle who prepared our flight based on our wine interests. He was amazing. The wines her served us were perfect and right in the palette we enjoy.

This review is for OLiV Tasting Room & Restaurant not the winery. The food is delicious...and always a great experience. We love ordering the tapas to sample the number of dishes on the menu. Every dish and cocktail is infused with one of their amazing balsamic vinegars which you can sample along with their many flavours of olive oils. Located in NOTL next to Strewn Winery a cozy place with good service and value!

My group of girlfriends and I booked a phenomenal 45-minute tasting with Strewn Winery and it could not have been more seamless. We attended our tasting on Saturday, September 19 in the afternoon. We were guided through our tastings on the patio by Evan-he was amazing! He made the time to discuss each wine, get to know us and our preferences. We felt he went above and beyond in his service and sharing knowledge about the wines. He was also very educated on the wine he brought us and was very easy to engage with. The patio area where we did the tasting was beautiful and quiet. I ended up purchasing the first bottle of wine Evan brought out for us which was the Gewurztraminer Divergent. I am so pleased to have had this experience, and can't wait to share the bottle of wine with my family.

After hopping from wine tasting to wine tasting all day we finished the day with a 45 minute tasting at Strewn. We were seated alone in their heritage room and had their sommelier, Juan, all to ourselves. It was very private and well worth the money as with most of the other vineyards we were crammed between people. Juan was absolutely amazing. He was very patient and fielded all of our questions. He was extremely knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to get to know him and hear how he became a sommelier. The wine tasting would not have been the same without him. He had us taste wines from back to back years and explained the different weather they had experienced in those years and how it impacted the flavour of the wine. We will definitely be returning as this was by far the best wine and overall experience at niagara on the lake. I am sure all their staff is very knowledgeable and work extremely hard, but Juan definitely stood out and we will try to have a tasting with him again.

Came here in July 2021 for the winery tour and tasting. I have been done a lot of wine tours, in Quebec, Ontario and Europe and this tour managed to teach me a lot of things. While most tour focus only on the wine making part, this tour talked about the growing of the grapes and provided a lot of explanation. The wines are also excellent. This is easily the best winery tour I've done in the Niagara region.

We had an amazing experience at Strewn yesterday! Our tasting with Mary Ann was very informative and she was even able to make a lovely non-alcoholic drink for our friend who is pregnant so she felt included. The new patio is gorgeous and the atmosphere is great- everyone is so friendly (especially Jane, Mary Ann and Juan). We tried some of the most increbile wines in the Niagara region. We will be back soon!

A great example of outstanding customer service. We arrived just before 5pm to find that the tasting service had ended an hour ago. Rather than turn us away, they made an exception and gave us a private tasting in their beautiful outdoor garden. A small winery at Niagara on the Lake, but a pretty one, with some good wines. We had the advantage of a private tasting due to coronavirus restrictions which was a bonus. Evan conducted our tasting. He took the time to ask us what wines we like before bringing just any of their wines to us. He customized the tasting for us. It was nice to sit outdoors with a view of the vineyards. We had a good lunch at OLIV the restaurant on their property and also purchased many unusual flavors of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We also purchased wine of course and a few other items in the winery boutique.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Strewn Winery. We had booked our reservation for 12 but they were very accommodating and allowed us to come for our tasting an hour early on short notice. All of the staff we interacted with there were very pleasant and professional. The patio area where we did the tasting was beautiful and quiet, and the wines were delicious. Evan did a great job at guiding us through the tasting. He was very knowledgable, took the time to go through each wine with us, and was easy to engage in conversation with. I would highly recommend this place!

Recently we celebrated a birthday with a very special wine from Strewn - Cabernet Franc 2016 - a gem from the Strewn wine club. We came for the vineyard tour and tasting then went to Oliv for lunch. Our tour guide Michele was very informative and gave great insight into the history of the winery and the wine making process. At the end of the your we were given four samples of wines to try among the vines. Our tasting host Kyle was great as well. He selected the perfect wines for us to sample and explained them in detail. If you like your wineries small and intimate then this is the place for you.

We booked a 45-min wine tasting and vineyard tour; everything was booked online seamlessly. We had Dow as our guide and he was absolutely wonderful and very pleasant. Dow walked us through the vineyard and explained the different grape varieties and gave us the background and history of Strewn Winery. The wine tasting was conducted outdoor under a spacious tent. Dow was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. It was such an amazing experience and would highly recommend to anyone who would like to learn more about the region and love dry wines! Amazing experience, amazing wine! Every employee was exceptionally nice, except for one bad experience with Jane. Jane was incredibly rude to us this past weekend when we visited the winery from Toronto. It was our first time visiting and we were not pleased as to how we were treated. As Jane ran away from the scene, a male employee came to serve us. I don't recall his name, but he was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine choices and definitely changed my mind about Strewn!

Food was terrible. Not fresh food, freezer style and canned food. Not worth your time or money. Incredibly disapointing because there are so many fantastic wineries and restaurants in the area. This was by far the poorest experience I've had. There definitely is no professional chef in the kitchen.

Beautiful venue, welcoming service, amazing wine and food! I stopped by at this winery to taste some local wine and food on my bike trip. The barrel aged chardonnay was very nice and made a great pair with the creamy gnocchi I ordered. The balsamic vinaigrette that came with bread was really tasty too I would've bought a bottle if I could pack it in my bag. I can definitely see myself going back some other time! Highly recommended.

I’m writing to let you know about the amazing experience my best friend and I had on Canada Day Wednesday July 1, 2020. We came to Strewn to do wine tasting. We met one of your amazing workers (Mary-Anne) in the store (I believe around 1:30 - 2:30pm). She was extremely friendly and welcoming and showed us around the store and explained about Strewn’s wine and products. Mary-Anne was also our wine tasting guide and she made our time there and our experience so fun and memorable. After our great tasting experience, Mary-Anne helped us with our purchases of several different wines, wine diffuser and glasses. Our experience was so wonderful that we decided to come back that weekend with a couple more girlfriends and we ate at the restaurant connected to this winery. My husband and I did the vineyard tour and outdoor tasting with Joe the owner as our guide. We loved the experience and highly recommend! He and his wife are the sweetest and their genuine passion for grape growing and wine truly shone through. Although I don't normally write reviews, the amazing reviews I read of Strewn Winery is what influenced my friends and I to book a tasting. We had a 45 minute personalized wine tasting on the patio this past Saturday. We had the pleasure of having Evan as our server, who really made the experience as best it could be given the circumstances. We were guided through multiple wines in which we all enjoyed and purchased. We also enjoyed having the option to sit on the patio for the tasting, as the weather was beautiful. The atmosphere was welcoming and we felt very cared for, which was not the case at some of the other wineries we attended. Thank you Evan and the rest of the staff, keep up the great work!
